    Description of the model.

Sava Eskimo Stud - tire test.

Sava's origins

The origin of the company took place in the Slovenian city of Kranj almost 100 years ago. In 1920, four entrepreneurs joined forces to form a company called Atlanta Import / Export Company, which was soon renamed Vulkan. This enterprise begins the production of various rubber products, including shoe soles.

In 1931, the company becomes subordinate to the Austrian Semperit, its production volumes are growing rapidly, and the consumer market is increasing. A year later - in 1932 - the company begins to produce

In 1939, the management of the company passed to one of the largest manufacturers of rubber products Continental Gummi - Werke AG. By 1946, the production of automobile tires was being established and the name of the company was changed. From now on it will be called "Sava" - in honor of the river that flows in Slovenia and originates in the local mountains.

The further fate of the company is connected with the conquest of its niche in the world tire market. The company's management is actively interested in the development and improvement of the quality of manufactured tires, the application of new production technologies.

Active development of the company

In 1965, the firm launched the first one with a high speed index. In 1974, the production of metal cord reinforced, which are known for their durability and wear resistance, was launched.

In 1992, the company received the famous SIST ISO 90011995 certificate, confirming the high quality of its products. Soon, the renowned American company Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company acquired Sava, which meant its actual transfer to the subordination of the main owner.

Since 1998, Sava tires have been produced under Goodyear Tire supervision. Since that time, production has begun to grow rapidly: new factories are being built, sales are increasing (by 2000, it amounted to 6.5 million tires).

In 2004, Goodyear acquired a full stake in the Slovenian company, becoming its full owner.

Sava today

Today Sava is the largest rubber goods manufacturer in Slovenia. Thanks to the use of engineering developments and the latest technologies, the company produces high quality products that can boldly compete with leading tire holdings. Model Description

The winter tires of the popular Slovenian company Sava, the Sava Eskimo Stud model with studs, are affordable and reliable tires for the most extreme and difficult winter road conditions. The studs have a hexagonal structure, which greatly improves the grip properties of the tire, with transverse and longitudinal slippage.

Thanks to a special tread pattern, the Sava Eskimo Stud model is distinguished by increased directional and lateral stability during difficult maneuvers and cornering. These tires delight car owners with a quick and precise wheel response to steering commands, guaranteeing stability in all weather conditions.

Wide, wider drainage grooves instantly drain moisture and slurry from the wheel, minimizing the risk of aquaplaning on wet roads in winter. Sava Eskimo Stud tires must be installed according to the instructions - in the direction of the arrow or the inscription (Rotation) located on the sidewall of the tire.

Manufacturing technology

The latest technology was used in the development of this tire. For example, its tread is designed using popular technology such as V-TRED, which is a proprietary Goodyear design. It is used on almost all winter models of this company. The special symmetrical herringbone pattern helps to better wick moisture away from the wheel, which improves the grip of the tire at high speed. The drainage channels are located at a special angle in the direction of travel, which is most effective when draining the tread.

The special ActiveStud technology, which uses six-sided studs, is aimed at shortening and fast acceleration of the tire.

The 3D-BIS technology applied in the tire design is a sipe upgrade. Convex bubbles specially located on the sipe walls help increase the wheel grip on slippery roads.

The new spike distribution system on the tread contributes not only to improving the braking properties of the wheel, but also to reducing noise during active high-speed movement.

The increased number of clutch edges reduces the likelihood of wheel slip, ensuring excellent acceleration and braking performance. When manufacturing Sava Eskimo Stud tires, the manufacturer paid special attention to the tread structure. Thanks to a special stiffening rib located in the center of the tire, the vehicle's directional stability is improved.

Massive blocks located in the shoulder areas contribute to the self-cleaning of the wheel when driving on snowy roads, and also increase stability and stability during difficult maneuvering.

Numerous multi-directional sipes are designed to increase traction on the slippery road surfaces. The tread pattern of the Sava Eskimo Stud is shown in the photo in the article. And there you can see all the nuances described above.

On Sava Eskimo Stud tires, the stud is made of a special wear-resistant alloy, which allows the tires to be used for 4-5 seasons while maintaining the technical characteristics of the rubber. The special distribution of the studs allows you to achieve low noise production and at the same time maintain a reliable grip.

Rubber compound

As for the quality properties of the rubber compound of the Sava Eskimo Stud tire: consumer feedback on the durability of this model confirms the quality guarantees declared by the company. With careful use, rubber can last up to 5 seasons without significant loss of studs.

The addition of silica, a special ingredient in all winter tires, contributes to the softness and durability of the rubber. A specially developed rubber compound used in the manufacture of this model contains a polymer with silicon components, which allows the tire to retain its elasticity and mobility even at low temperatures in the winter season.

Sava Eskimo Stud tires: consumer reviews

Winter tires are always selected by motorists with great care and attention, since safety, comfort and reliability in difficult road conditions of the season depend on their properties. This is especially true for Russian consumers, who most often face the problem of snowfall.

In order to be sure of the quality of this model, you need to study consumer reviews. The Sava Eskimo Stud is rated by many car enthusiasts as reliable, inexpensive, soft, durable tires. In addition, consumers note such positive characteristics of the model as acoustic comfort during high-speed operation, preservation of elasticity, excellent resistance to slipping on snowy roads, reliable response to the track, strong reliable studding, and an affordable price.

Nevertheless, many motorists leave negative reviews about these tires. Sava Eskimo Stud, according to consumer estimates, has the following disadvantages: the tire has too soft sidewall, which is most susceptible to mechanical damage. As you know, side tears on tubeless tires cannot be repaired, therefore, after such damage, the tire must be replaced. Also, many car owners note increased noise during the break-in period. After passing the first 200,000 kilometers, noise production decreases.

Features of the tread pattern

The Sava Eskimo Stud tires have a tread pattern that demonstrates the best performance and performance in urban conditions. Most convenient when driving on quality asphalt surfaces. It is completely unsuitable for country trips, as it cannot cope with a soft dirt road. Distinctive features of this pattern are low rolling resistance, excellent acoustic performance, high wear resistance.

Testing

Like other models produced by Sava Tires, Sava Eskimo Stud was also tested. These tires passed the test successfully, showing the following results:

The braking distance when driving on ice at a speed of 50 km / h using the anti-slip system was 54.8 m.

Acceleration time on an icy surface in the range from 5 to 20 km / h was 4.5 s.

The braking distance on a snow-covered road when operating at a speed of 80 km / h was 57.1 m.

    Acceleration time on a snow-covered road in the range from 5 to 35 km / h was 5.8 s.

The stopping distance on wet asphalt when operating at 80 km / h with ABS was 33 m.

The stopping distance on dry asphalt when operating at 80 km / h with ABS was 27.3 m.

According to the experts, the Sava Eskimo Stud tires passed the test quite successfully, showing good results.

Bus cost

The Sava Eskimo Stud MS model can be purchased in the range from 1,670 rubles to 3,500 for one tire. The price varies depending on the wheel size and load. The higher the indicators, the more expensive a set of winter car shoes will cost. Consumer reviews of Sava Eskimo Stud most often note the pleasant cost of these tires. And this is often the main criterion when choosing them.

Tire sizes and indexes

Sava Eskimo Stud h Stud tires are offered in the following specifications.

    Size - 175 / 70R13, INS - 82T.

Sava tires are manufactured in Europe. Today the company belongs to the Goodyear concern and has about 85 years of history. Rezina Sava is recognized as one of the best brands on the European market. In Russia, tires have been sold for a long time and managed to win fans for themselves.

Overview of the model range and technologies in Sava tires

The Sava tire manufacturer is Slovenia. Although formally the brand belongs to the Goodyear concern, its own developments are also used in rubber. Interestingly, the manufacturer's plant in Slovenia produces not only Sava tires, but also some other brands of the Goodyear group of companies.

The Sava plant is considered the most equipped in Europe. Sava rubber is produced in accordance with EMEA standards. The manufacturer checks each batch of tires before they enter foreign markets. On the official website of the brand, its success is explained by its excellent quality and attractive price.

The range of the brand consists of passenger car, light truck, truck and off-road tires. Sava manufactures tires with high speed performance, winter tires and all-season models. The manufacturer's catalog is strictly divided into tires for small cars, middle class cars, minivans and sports cars. The manufacturer offers winter models for cars of any size and type. The range includes non-studded friction tires and studded winter tires.

The high quality of tires is achieved through the use of a number of performance criteria developed by the brand's specialists. Tires are tested at our own landfills, as a result of which they meet the requirements of European standards and the wishes of users.

The best models of Sava tires

Sava's off-road and light truck models have earned less attention than the brand's passenger tires. Sava Intensa HP and Sava Perfecta got the best marks among summer tires. Sava Intensa HP rubber is available in sizes from 14 "to 17". The minimum price of a tire is 1,500 rubles. The highest price indicator reaches the value - 9930 rubles. B and are noted for acceptable grip, silence and softness. The buyers attributed the weak sidewall to the disadvantages. You need to be careful in holes and near curbs. Users also noticed a loss of control clarity at high speeds. The softness makes the tire roll. This model is suitable for city use.

Sava Perfecta is available in sizes 13, 14 and 15 inches. The minimum price for rubber is 1300 rubles. In the 15th size, tires can cost up to 4530 rubles. In the reviews, softness, lack of noise, confident behavior on a wet surface are named as advantages. The adhesion properties of tires and driving comfort deserve praise. To the disadvantages, users attributed a weak sidewall, prone to the appearance of hernias. Some car owners have noted rapid wear and tear. Turkish tires received negative ratings on all metrics except comfort.

From the winter line, the best reviews were given to the friction tires Sava Eskimo HP and Sava Eskimo S3 MS. The first ones are available in sizes 15-18 inches and cost at least 2300 rubles. The reviews named excellent handling on a snowy road, high resistance to aquaplaning, silence and softness. From the shortcomings, the behavior in icy conditions and the difficulties with balancing are highlighted.

Sava Eskimo S3 MS is produced in sizes 13-16 inches. You can buy tires for at least 1,460 rubles. In customer reviews, excellent grip on winter surfaces, silence, softness are noted. The main advantage of this model was the predictable behavior on the ice. There are no significant shortcomings, except for the deficit in the retail network.

Reviews of tires Sava

The tires of the Slovenian “branch” of Goodyear did not have an impressive set of advantages. The advantages of tires include driving comfort. Softness and lack of noise played the main role here. There were no complaints regarding the adhesion properties. However, the buyers did not express their delight.

Advantages of the brand include acceptable grip on dry roads, excellent resistance to aquaplaning and confident behavior of winter tires on a snowy road. In terms of adhesion properties, winter tires are significantly ahead of summer ones. The overwhelming majority of reviews about this rubber are positive.

A weak sidewall is a significant disadvantage of tires. Tires are prone to bumps and cuts. In urban conditions, tires need to be used carefully and carefully, but for the track, the running properties of tires are not enough.

Another disadvantage of the Slovenian brand was the difficulty in balancing. 60% of buyers noted that tires caused a lot of comments at tire fitting. During operation, factory defects of tires do not cause difficulties. As a result of the use of Sava tires, half of the buyers refused to buy them again.

Sava rubber prices

Summer tires Sava can be bought online at an average price of 2100-3150 rubles. Winter studded models are sold for an average of 2,700 rubles. Winter friction tires are available for 2250-4600 rubles, depending on the model and size.

Despite the manufacturer's claims about the quality of the tires, Sava proved to be a mid-range brand. In terms of comfort, the tires are comparable to Michelin tires. The adhesion properties of tires allow them to be used at medium speeds in urban conditions. For high-speed highway driving, it is better to choose another brand of tires.

Characteristics and parameters of summer tires "Sava"

Among the summer tires, Sava Intensa HP and Sava Perfect are some of the best. Sava Intensa HP tires are available in sizes from 14 to 17 inches. They are noted for acceptable grip, quiet running and softness. They provide good grip on dry and wet asphalt surfaces, perfect handling and even wear. Sava Perfecta is used for lightweight cars and is used as summer tires. They have a four-row tread pattern that guarantees good grip and controlled handling on wet and dry asphalt roads, as well as uniform wear and a sufficiently long operating time.

Model Perfecta

Sava Perfecta is available in sizes 13, 14 and 15 inches. The advantages include softness, low noise level, confident behavior on wet asphalt.

The popularity of "Perfect" is explained by its good quality and reasonable cost. Ideal for urban use. They have a large mileage parameter and a long time of use.

All this is ensured thanks to several criteria:

  • “Prefecta” with a four-row tread pattern that retains its qualities throughout the entire service life.
  • The appearance of the blocks is adapted in order to ensure a systematic distribution of pressure across the entire area of \u200b\u200bthe tire when the tread touches the road surface. This not only significantly improves traction in different directions, but also reduces wear on the tread, increasing the time of its use.
  • The composition of Sava rubber contributes to increased resistance to abrasion and resistance to mechanical damage.
  • To get rid of aquaplaning, the Prefecta has a variety of grooves in different directions. The effectiveness of this measure increases due to the volumetric sharp edges.
  • The tread blocks are of different types and are displaced relative to each other, as a result of which the likelihood of imbalance is reduced and the noise level is significantly reduced.

All these factors ensure the economy in gas mileage.

Sava tires will satisfy the needs of any, even the most demanding car enthusiast. In the catalog, all rubber models are sorted by dimension, which makes it easier to choose tires for cars.

I bought tires before the 2016 season, mileage for 3 winter seasons ~ 80,000 km, mostly on the track
I will list what I liked:
1) at any subzero temperature, they do not tan, even at -35 ° C they remain elastic
2) that the bare asphalt is that loose and not very snow, the grip is excellent, never got stuck
3) the noise is less than that of the Bigstone Ice Cruiser 7000
4) thorns do not fall out, maybe 1-2 per season no more.

Now "-"
1) there are no downsides for me, I liked everything. Before the season I decided to check the tires, it turned out to be worn up to 4-5mm. and this is already critical wear. The bases of the spikes are all in place and the cores were built, so it's almost velcro. I decided to buy the same new ones, I did not find on sale the size that I need for winter tires, namely 195 / 55R15, apparently they are being removed from production, although there is not a word about this on the manufacturer's website.
In general, I recommend this tire model to everyone, it is in no way inferior to hackapelle 8 (there was an experience of 1500 km)

I live in the Krasnodar Territory, I took new tires, this year there was no winter at all, I did not spare rubber. I went into turns so that I thought I would go into a skid, but no. Rubber holds on dry asphalt well, despite the fact that it is studded. I did not notice aquaplaning. After 130 she starts swimming. During the winter I lost only one spike, although once again I repeat the aggressive driving style. There is practically no wear. Rushing through the mud like a tank, I never let down THE MAIN THING AFTER THE PURCHASE OF RUBBER IT IS CORRECT TO RUN IT IN.

I got it when I bought a completely new car, drove 2 thousand km, I'm not happy with the tires, it's noisy, you constantly get under way on the ice with slipping, although you don't accelerate much, very often when braking, the abs is triggered, in long turns it blows your ass! Maybe, of course, I was not lucky with the quality, made in Poland, size 195 60 15, Toyota Corolla.

Mitsubishi Lancer IX car bought Sava spike tires in 2012. Otezdil 6 seasons and I don't know how long it will last. Thorns 2/3 remained that's for sure. Those that I put on the front have worn out a little more, which is natural. And on the snow porridge and on ice and snow run-up they behave confidently. Of course, if you go with your head. On the bare asphalt, they are noisy, well, the spikes. In general, excellent tires. I bought a summer kit. Let's see what the summer shows.

Sava Eskimo Stud 175/65 14 with tires very dovolen. Otezdil 1 season, about 15 thousand kilometers in mixed mode, the track gorod. The driving style is fast, but not aggressive. The control is excellent, the braking is also comfortable, the tires are comfortable. Moderately noisy, all the same spikes. Rubber price-quality, until production stops, I will only take it and advise others.

That year, I spent 2 weeks in the internet in the evenings - I chose rubber - reviews, reviews, comparisons, etc. - well, and the budget was certain - everything converged to one brand Sava eskimo stud - studded, I often drive along the highway, and this is the most ideal rubber (ugh , ugh, ugh) of all that were - Velcro breeches, Michelin Xnors thorns, nexen thorns - I couldn't get enough of it - and it keeps on rolling, and the snow is rowing, it doesn't burrow. The price is social, but there are few places for sale.

Good afternoon, I will share my impressions of this tire a little. I bought these tires in 2016, winter, studs, size 185/65/15, production (Poland), Hyundai Solaris car. I traveled two seasons, lost one tire, one thorn. When buying, I doubted, since the brand is not promoted, but the seller said that I would not regret it. And so it happened, I never regretted that I bought these tires. They keep the road well at speed, in icy conditions, they ride well on snow and slush, a small spike, so the tires are not noisy, even if we consider that there is no noise in Solaris. So there were only positive emotions from the operation of this tire, I bought a set for 9600 rubles, I think that the quality is higher than the price. Not a novice driver, officially driving for 34 years.

Good overall feeling, very tenacious, soft, not very noisy. For 2 seasons, wear is not noticeable, but on a wedged wheel I drove several meters on a slippery road and the damage is noticeable. In general, I am pleased with the choice.

As I understood from the reviews, this is the former GudYyrovskaya model. Then it was taken out of production, and the model, which had successfully proven itself in its time, was licensed by Sava. What it delivers to this day - 2 seasons, the thorns are almost in place. The experience of driving in the winter for 7 years (since the fall of 2011) is as follows (I have a rear-wheel drive, Ford Scorpio 2): the first winter the tires came from the farm - there was some kind of rogue hodgepodge team. As usual, a miracle did not happen - prefabricated hodgepodge of unknown origin always fails on the roads. In general, I decided to first buy new tires on the trail. winter, then summer, then I updated the wheels - there are no problems with the wheels. The first winter tires were bought by Gryzhstone IсeCruiser 7000 195 \\ 65 \\ 15, then I bought a pair from Hankook Winter iPike, switching to 205 \\ 65, a softer format for our roads, then the next winter I already bought this model instead of the last pair of Bridgestun Sava, too 205 \\ 65 \\ 15, so there is something to compare "in real time")) Sava - in terms of strength it turned out to be no worse than the Breeches, and in terms of handling and driving sensations - a little worse than the Hankoks. I didn’t like the breeches, because it was relatively easy to break the rear wheels. Henkuki - the best handling and tenacity (even after the middle of the second season, when almost all the spikes fell off - the eternal disease of this model) - the rubber kept the road perfectly. Sawas row much better than Breeches, especially the difference is noticeable in the snow. Not bad in handling, although the new Hankuki were better. Noise is standard noise. In the second season, they said in a tire that the rubber was oaky, poorly balanced, or it became wrong from the summer maturation (pfft, my batins and mother's wheels are constantly kept in this way at the dacha in neat stacks horizontally - everything was always balanced). I thought it was, but judging by the reviews, the shank is shitty. Disk one was ruled by the sledge hammer method, so they also took a horse price tag in the end - I will look for a good office for winter shoes, because they got it - they ruined everything for me. I plan to buy 1 more pair of these Savs for the winter. In general, a good model. I will not give maximum marks - tires 2 times more expensive will definitely win this battle)
