Kia mojave frame. Test drive the updated Kia Mohave: everything you wanted to know about the frame "Korean"

The frame is losing ground. Once glorified "crooks" with the change of generations degenerate into banal SUVs. Jeep Cherokee, Ford Explorer, Nissan Pathfinder have long left the ranks of honest SUVs. But Mitsubishi Pajero Sport remained true to itself even in the third generation - this is L200 in the guise of a station wagon. A powerful frame, impressive tires, continuous rear axle and Super Select transmission - what else do you need to be completely happy?

Diesel! And it was not offered for a beginner. And now, a year after its debut on the Russian market, Pajero Sport has acquired an 181-horsepower 4N15 turbodiesel, already familiar from. It is assisted by an 8-speed automatic. The test car in the Ultimate version costs 3,050,000 rubles.

Mitsubishi's opponent in today's duel is. Also a large frame with an 8-speed automatic and a turbodiesel, but 3.0-liter and 70 "horses" more powerful. Not entirely fair? So after all, Mohave with a similar level of equipment is cheaper - 2 850 000 rubles. It couldn't be more honest!

Kia mohave

He made his debut back in 2008 and the name clearly hinted that it was focused on the North American market. Nevertheless, it is sold with us. organized at the plant in Kaliningrad. Mohave has undergone a restyling last year.

ENGINE:

diesel: 3.0 (250 HP) - from 2,419,900 rubles.

Mitsubishi Pajero Sport

The third generation car made its debut back in 2015, but reached our market only in 2016 and only with a gasoline engine. The diesel version appeared this year. The car is assembled in Thailand.

ENGINES:

gasoline: 3.0 (209 HP) - from 2 799 990 rubles.

diesel: 2.4 (181 hp) - from 2,399,000 rubles.

Asian beauty

The image of the current Pajero Sport reminded of the Chinese actor Bolo Yen, familiar to everyone who watched action films with nasal translations on VHS tapes worn to holes. The pumped-up "Asian" Mitsubishi looks strange. The face is all right - the eastern squint, the muscular front wings. Chrome X-elements on the front bumper transmit. But with the stern, sadness-trouble. Due to the side windows that rise to the sky, it turned out to be heavy, the taillights flowing down to the bumper only enhance the effect.

I quickly open the door, grab the handle on the A-pillar, and hop into the swaying body. Inside, it's almost L200, only more expensive - for example, the dashboard is decorated with a colorful trip-computer display. Thai hands are magic not only in massage - they also know how to carefully assemble cars. It is a pity, they saved on materials.

Plastic tries very hard to resemble soft, but if you knock on it - a cork, a gift from Africa. For a pickup truck, but I would like more expensive materials by car for three million. As well as more thoughtful ergonomics. It doesn't matter that the seat has a minimal set of adjustments - the main thing is that the profile is not bad. Worse, it is slightly deployed relative to the steering wheel and pedals. After a couple of hours, landing at three-quarters starts to tire. Moreover, this saving on little things. Glass closer - only for the driver. Nice leather on the steering wheel? Only in the places of the grip, and for the others they sacrificed a pair of tarpaulin boots.

Mohave is the complete opposite. Appearance is calm and almost boring. There is nothing to find fault with. As well as hook. Kia looked a little dated right after its debut. But now, after almost ten years, he is young. These forms will almost certainly be relevant for another ten years.

Getting into the cabin is a little more difficult than in Mitsubishi: the driver was deprived of the handle on the windshield pillar, although the passenger was not forgotten. Sensations? It was as if I had moved from economy to business class. The plastic is soft not only to the touch, but also in appearance, the painted inserts on the center console are skillfully disguised as metal, and there is something "wooden". With a refresh, Mohave has a new dashboard with moonlight and red arrows. Simple and elegant. And there is no feeling that I have saved money: the landing is correct, the seat is with a lumbar support, the steering wheel height adjustment is equipped with an electric drive. Who would have told me five years ago that the salon of a "Korean" would be of better quality and richer than that of the sacred Pajero!

Space for small things - with a margin, and that's good. People drive a large SUV not only to work - it would be nice if the smartphone does not conflict with a glass of coffee because of the "living space". So it turns out that Kia is a little more sensible than Mitsubishi in everything.

Your place in the gallery

For passengers, Mohave is paradise. Spacious, the second row seats move back and forth, the backrest angle is adjustable. There are separate climate control and seat heating. In the third row, the landing is far from ideal, but

Technical nuances of the Kia Mohave design

After the Sorento miraculously morphed into a crossover this spring, Kia is left with only one off-road model - the Borrego / Mohave. To meet the needs of Russian off-road enthusiasts, it has already begun to be produced at a plant in Kaliningrad

The American layman has been using this very "Borreg" (more precisely, its latest version) for more than a year: the car was the off-road nail of Detroit-2008. And now it was the turn of the Russians. Mohave will have its own, assembled in the native land - an enterprise in Kaliningrad has been working in this direction since October.

The car is comfortable, with air suspension, adjustable pedal assembly and other options familiar to a US citizen. At the same time, it was made on the frame, but there are no bridges with continuous beams at all - independent suspension front and rear. Of the two schemes provided for Mohave - rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive - our readers, for obvious reasons, are interested in the second. We will deal with it.

  1. Carrying element - a frame to which the body is attached by means of eight vibration dampers
  2. Internal combustion engine (petrol V6 and V8 or diesel V6)
  3. Classic automatic transmission: torque converter and planetary gearbox
  4. Front axle drive propeller shaft
  5. Transfer case with a reduction gear made in the form of a planetary gear set
  6. One-piece propeller shaft for rear axle drive
  7. Exhaust system
  8. Fuel tank 82 l
  9. Rear axle with optional limited slip differential

We study materiel

What is unusual about a torque-on-demand transmission? The design has long been known, worked out, by ear. However, when discussing the principle of its work in relation to Mohave, the opinions of the editorial staff were divided - a debate arose, so to speak. Some said that the clutch, located in the transfer case, has two fixed positions - the discs are either open or fully compressed and do not slip relative to each other (that is, rigid blocking). The latter argued that the power take-off to the front axle may not occur discretely. To understand the issue, let's start with the stove, or rather, with the dispenser supplied by Borg Warner.

The first element encountered "in the direction" of the power flow is the planetary gear set, which acts as a reduction gear. It is activated by a servo drive: the actuator moves the fork, the fork pulls the toothed carriage along with it. A multi-plate friction clutch operating in oil and an electromagnet, which controls this clutch, are located behind the planetary gear. The driven clutch disks are connected by a cage with a gear that transmits power (through a toothed chain and another gear) to the propeller shaft of the front axle drive. The driver controls all this economy through a toggle switch located on the center console.

There are no ambiguities with provisions 4L and 4H. The clutch is fully closed, while the driving gears of the main axle drives are, as it were, rigidly mounted on one shaft. Moreover, if the adhesion of all wheels to the road and other conditions are the same, then the driveshafts are loaded with the same moment. The difference is that at 4L, when the lowering is activated, this moment is higher. Here, it is important for the driver to remember that due to the rigid connection when driving on good asphalt, significant overloads in the transmission and accelerated tire wear are possible. With a differential connection, such phenomena do not arise.

As for the clutch, according to the assurances of Kia specialists, it really functions smoothly, loading the front wheels as needed. Selection occurs not only when there is a difference in grip between the front and rear wheels and when the vehicle is accelerating (decelerating), but also in stationary modes. For example, at low speeds, the thrust on the front axle varies from 5 to 20%.

Other machinery

In the North American market, Borrego is equipped with two engines - V6 and V8. Both of them are gasoline, equipped with variable valve timing by correcting the angular positions of all camshafts. The diesel, which the Russians can count on, is not represented in the USA, while in Russia there is no V8 engine (only this modification is equipped with airbags for the driver's knees). All three units work with hydromechanical automatic transmissions. Only the petrol V6 has a five-speed automatic transmission, and the other two have a six-speed automatic transmission. Both automatic gearboxes have a manual gear selection program.

A self-locking differential of the rear axle is also provided, it's a pity that the option is not available in the Russian Federation. Another interesting feature of the Mohave is its high maneuverability: the turning circle is only 11 m.

Interestingly, Kia managers see such popular cars in Russia as the Mitsubishi Pajero and Nissan Pathfinder as the main competitors of Mohave. We will see how a newcomer will show himself in such a serious company next year.

Our motorists love large SUVs. And this is despite the fact that it is extremely inconvenient to drive such cars in tight megalopolises. Nevertheless, huge "crooks" both used and are in considerable demand. It's a shame, but new SUVs are quite expensive. And then there is no choice but to pay attention to the secondary market. There are offers for every taste and budget. One option is the Korean Kia Mohave SUV.

As a concept car under the name HM, the SUV was shown in Detroit back in 2005. This model, in the opinion of Koreans, was supposed to become the flagship of the brand in the future and position itself one step above the notorious Kia Sorento. Three years later, the serial Mohave went on sale in the American market, and in 2009 the car reached South Korea and Russia.

Engine and transmission

Technically, the Mohave is similar to its sister Sorento and the Hyundai ix55 SUV. In 2012, the Korean SUV was equipped with a new 8-speed automatic transmission, which positively affected the car's economy. But as for the third row of seats, thanks to which the Mohave can be moved in seven ways, it was offered from the very beginning of the production of this model.

It is interesting that in our market Kia Mohave appeared immediately in a restyled version. Two engines were available for the car: a 3-liter diesel with 250 horsepower and a 3.8-liter gasoline unit.

The latter is rare on Mohave. So it's hardly worth focusing on it when buying a car. Moreover, the much more economical diesel engine turned out to be extremely successful. In the hands of a caring owner who changes the oil every 10 thousand kilometers, a diesel engine will not give cause for concern until a run of 200-250 thousand kilometers. I am also glad that diesel can digest our not the best fuel. So there is no need to be afraid of frequent replacement of expensive injectors.

Sometimes in the secondary market there are Mohave brought from the North American market. A 6-speed automatic will probably be installed on such cars. But whatever one may say, and eight steps in an automatic box, which were installed on the car after restyling, allow you to go faster and consume less fuel.

If the "automatic" suddenly began to change gears with jerks, you should first go to the dealer and figure out what the matter is. It is possible that expensive repairs will not be needed at all, and the unpleasant shocks will disappear after flashing the box control unit. But the words of servicemen that the oil in the "automatic machine" should not be changed, it is better not to listen. If you want to drive for a long time and without problems, then it is better to change it every 60 thousand kilometers.

Interior and suspension

Kia Mohave owners have different opinions about the quality of finishing materials and the accuracy of the interior assembly. Someone complains about "crickets" and constant squeaks, someone assures that there is nothing to find fault with inside. Perhaps the current situation speaks of an unstable build quality, so it's definitely worth taking a ride and listening to extraneous sounds before buying a Mohave.

Equipped with a Korean SUV well. It even occurs on many cars. But she will surely become the source of the headache. The camera turns off every now and then, forcing the owners of Mohave to contact the branded service. But the new camera won't last too long. After a couple of years, she again begins to shut down spontaneously.

Another complaint about the Korean SUV is a quickly peeling steering wheel, which gives many potential Mohave buyers the impression that the mileage has been seriously adjusted before the car is sold.

At the heart of the Kia Mohave's design is a powerful frame. the Korean SUV has independent, four-wheel drive. The latter is connected either automatically or forcibly. Interestingly, the Mohave rear suspension is used. On many crossovers and SUVs, they have not proven themselves in the best way, but not on the Kia Mohave. The body position sensors are more likely to fail than the pneumatic struts themselves will fail. Sensors rarely fail. In our conditions, the wiring going to them is the first to rot. Examining the suspension, it does not hurt to pay attention to a considerable number of unprotected components and assemblies. And this means only one thing - to consider the Kia Mohave a serious SUV and you cannot constantly use it on rough terrain. Rather, it is just a large, spacious car that allows you to move comfortably on relatively flat paved roads.

On the first Kia Mohave sold in our country, you can find small spots of rust, but such cars are few. Most Mohave owners have never even heard of corrosion. As well as the fact that this car is being stolen. The criminal world of Kia Mohave is of little interest. But car enthusiasts dreaming of a large and unpretentious SUV are looking towards the "Korean" more and more often. They are quite understandable. For a reasonable price, Mohave offers a robust design, spacious interior and good ride quality.

Together with their brother Huyndai ix55, they divided the world. Hyundai, eastern Kia gets the western hemisphere

The first presentation to the public of the Kia Mohave, or, as it was called on the other side of the Earth, Borrego, took place in 2008, and in 2009 full-scale production began. In Russia and Europe, at that time, compact, so-called urban crossovers were of greater interest, so they were in no hurry with deliveries to the Old World. As a result, a full-fledged SUV appeared with us only in 2010, in a restyled version and with a diesel engine. And, interestingly, it was announced with a 3.8 liter gasoline six, but our market never saw these versions in large quantities. They came only to order, almost in single copies. But in North America, the gasoline engine was better sold, but not on Kia, but on the single-platform Huyndai ix55, which was noticeably different in external details and interior. As it turned out later, our option was better, since the diesel engine proved to be excellent. There was only one problem with selling Mohave in Russia - tiny quotas.

TWO STEPS

Not only the restyling was distinguished by the version of the Kia Mohave that appeared in Russia, but also the new eight-speed gearbox. Prior to that, a six-speed was installed. By the way, those who have traveled on both versions, interrupting each other, praise the new transmission, which, in terms of reliability and switching speed, softness, economy and endurance, completely outperforms the older sister. The former was overly brooding on the kick-down, and generally unhurried on acceleration. The new one turned out to be much more lively, and the appearance of delays in switching could only indicate the need to visit the dealer for error reading and routine maintenance. In general, the owners of Mohave did not complain about the main units. The engine, gearbox, suspension, body and interior equipment served smoothly, stably without noticeable problems. However, the car is not conducive to fast driving and off-road overcoming. It clearly shows "American features": imposingness, softness, spacious interior, empty steering wheel and an elastic engine in a large speed range. And the Mohave buyer is not one of those who are ready to burn rubber and tear gimbals. Therefore, these SUVs are better than others, even after serving five to six years. At the same time, Mohave is quite capable of screeching off the ground, and off-road conditions will not save him on a suitable status.

There are no frills, but there are no problems with readability

ONE ON ONE

Today it's hard to believe, but the cost of a diesel car with an eight-speed automatic transmission started at 1.5 million rubles. Interestingly, five years later, after traveling a little, it costs about the same, if, of course, it is counted in rubles. Most of the Mohave was assembled in Kaliningrad, at the Avtotor plant. Opinions about the Russian assembly, as usual, differ. Someone curses the crooked domestic assemblers, someone, on the contrary, does not complain about anything. At least, there are no objective reasons for the service center employees to criticize the Russian assembly. In addition to Kaliningrad, Mohave was assembled in Kazakhstan at a plant in Ust-Kamenogorsk, in Malaysia and in Korea. Cars from different manufacturers differ in both motors and transmissions. For example, in Malaysia they made a lot of Mohave with 3.0-liter gasoline engines and a five-speed manual transmission. There were even rear-wheel drive versions. Be that as it may, but the most successful versions in terms of the selection of units came to Russia. In addition, the motors were adapted to our conditions, because when asked about the failure rate of Common Rail fuel equipment, the service masters only shrugged their shoulders. Even the injectors on many cars have never been changed. It would be possible to end the story with words like "the transmission is reliable and does not break, as well as the chassis", but still managed to find a couple of unpleasant nuances.

Third row of seats with short cushion and shallow
a niche is unlikely to suit people even of average height

RABIES

Despite the fact that you will not wait for serious breakdowns during human handling from Mohave, some little things can cause attacks of rabies even in well-balanced drivers. After all, you must admit that if the rear-view camera turns off once a week, and once a year you have to change it, this can be a little upsetting. As well as the decay of the contacts of the body position sensors in the rear suspension. Mohave's suspension is completely independent, but in front there are springs that do not drift, and in the back there are air bellows as elastic elements. This design causes bewilderment among the owners: they say, they would either have made pneumatics entirely, or left springs everywhere. And then a little puddle, but with dirt, or frost by morning - and the sensors were gone. That is, the sensors as such do not break, but corrosion appears, and the wiring closes. The air springs themselves are reliable, but when they are parked for a long time, they quietly release air. When the engine starts, the compressor needs literally a few seconds to lift the rear part that has sagged during the absence of the owner.

Excellent luggage compartment folded

Does not like moisture and the lower edge of the trunk. It rusts like an old "Niva"! True, a five-year warranty allows you to resolve these misunderstandings at the expense of the seller. In general, almost all problems are covered by the warranty period. At the same time, Mohave never had large recall campaigns or panic service actions. Quite a thoughtful car. But he's just afraid of water ...

RIGHT AMERICA!

Kia Mohave is built on openly American patterns. Comfort, interior, motors, transmission, handling. Full-time full drive with automatic or forced center differential lock on the lower row of transfer case gears. The ground clearance of 220 mm and small overhangs do not give a big advantage on rough terrain for a car with such a long wheelbase, but any snow drift or dirt roads washed out by a downpour will be up to the Korean. Mohave is especially good as a tug. A powerful diesel engine with 540 Nm torque will allow you to drag a camper or boat to any mountain lake on the planet. Moreover, the motor is very flexible. Overtaking at speeds of 100–140 km / h, typical on the motorway, is accompanied by a fair amount of acceleration. If at the same time the box suddenly, with a kick, goes from transfer to transfer, you should go to the dealer. Wizards will update the firmware, maybe change the oil just in case. Hard shifts, especially noticeable in 2nd and 4th gear, will disappear. If you rush headlong on bad roads, the front wheel bearings will fail very quickly. They say that they can be repaired, but more often they change the entire hub under warranty. Mohave has not yet reached the mass replacement of pneumatic springs, the brakes wear out according to the classic scenario - the front ones go like consumables, the rear ones live three times longer.

The American approach to comfort extends to the interior as well. There are no particularly sophisticated solutions in it, but everything is spacious, soundly and reliable. But the leather steering wheel peels off almost after a year of operation. It is meekly changed under the same guarantee. If the three-zone climate does not work, you need to look at the wiring, most often - the mass. In the cooling system, there are electric diesel heaters that are very relevant on frosty days, which are also quite reliable.

I suppose I could just as calmly and leisurely list many Kia Mohave components and assemblies, repeating "reliable" and "does not break" every time. We'd better think about the advisability of purchasing such a car. As we already said, the cost of the car purchased in early 2014 does not exceed its current price too much. This is definitely a good investment. Mitsubishi Pajero and Nissan Pathfinder became competitors for Mohave, but our hero is more spacious and more comfortable on the move, and his diesel engine is much more reliable and economical. So, in the Altai mountains, where we drove a fair amount of Mohave, the average consumption did not exceed 14 liters per hundred kilometers. And it's in the mountains! And if you wave it to the sea?

Owner's opinion:
Nikita, Kia Mohave 3.0 CRDi 8AT, 2012
My task was to buy a big, safe car. I chose between Volvo XC90 (scared off by the cost of service) and Mitsubishi Pajero, which seemed cramped. Suddenly came across a two-year restyled Mohave, and it was just right. Of the failures, I remember the rear-view camera, which was changed twice, the stabilizer struts, also twice, and the steering joints - I often drive on bad roads. As a result of two years of operation, one conclusion was made - there is no alternative, in the car I am one hundred percent sure!

An overview of the Korean Kia Mohave SUV, technical characteristics, configuration, and the exterior and interior, luggage compartment, advantages and disadvantages obtained based on the owners' reviews.

First SUV premiere

Kia Motors is a Korean automobile company, founded in June 1944, over the entire history of its existence, the company has created many different car brands, and the millionth car left the assembly line of the South Korean enterprise back in 1988.

The concern produces buses, cars in various bodies, and crossovers can also be distinguished as a separate class.

Kia Mohave is a very impressive SUV, first shown at the Detroit Auto Show in 2008.

Peter Schreyer worked on the design of the project, the car was originally intended for the North American market.

In Russia, SUV cars have been sold since autumn 2009, the model is produced at the Avtotor Kaliningrad plant.

In 2017, the Korean brand is expected to be updated, and it is likely that the second generation of Mojav will appear in the near future.

Kia Mohav in Russia

In America, the Korean car is known under the name Borrego, the car was produced in LX, EX and Limited trim levels.

But in the United States, the brand did not receive much popularity and did not sell well, so in 2011 the production of the North American SUV was discontinued.

The technical characteristics of the car produced for Russia remained the same as that of the North American model, only the number of modifications, engine and transmission options decreased.

A more powerful generator is also installed in the Russian version of the car, and a battery of increased capacity is used.

In the Russian Federation, the car is already supplied in a restyled version, with a diesel engine and automatic transmission, a gasoline 6-cylinder 3.8 liter engine was also announced at first, but it never went into production.

But the all-terrain vehicle got a rear and high ground clearance, besides, all cars are produced only in all-wheel drive.

The Russian-assembled Kia Mohave is a classic SUV with a frame structure, named after the Californian desert where Kia vehicles are tested.

The body of the Mojave is based on a platform, the car has many elements in common with the Huyndai IX55 and Hyundai Veracruz.

The external features of the crossover are also classic - the shape is cubic, angular, the number of rows of seats is three (seven seats).

It has been on sale since 2018.

Kia Mohave equipment and prices

The Korean car on the Russian market is presented in two trim levels - Comfort and Premium.

Even in the basic version of Comfort, the "charge" of the crossover is impressive, the car is equipped with:

  • six airbags;
  • driver assistance systems - on the descent, on the starting uphill, during emergency braking;
  • systems EBD, ESP (),;
  • alloy wheels R17;
  • fog lights;
  • rear parking sensors;
  • light sensor;
  • heated - mirrors, windshield, steering wheel, front seats and rear seats;
  • suspension stiffness control system;
  • electric drives - windows, steering column, side mirrors;
  • (two zones);
  • CD-player with MP3 (6 built-in loudspeakers);
  • multi-wheel;
  • multimedia system;
  • trip computer;
  • rear view camera;
  • alarm with central locking;
  • immobilizer.

Installed roof rails, tinted glass, steering wheel rim and gearshift knob are sheathed in leather, the trunk is equipped with a full-size spare wheel.

You can buy Kia Mohave in Russian car dealerships in 2016 from 2.4 million rubles, the manufacturer gives a five-year guarantee, for mileage - 150 thousand km.

The crossover in the Premium modification is equipped with cast R18 wheels, a leather interior, this version has a pneumatic rear suspension, an electric sunroof, a navigator, and xenon headlights.

The engine is started here with a button, there is keyless access to the car interior.

The front seats are electrically driven and memorize the seat positions, the electric mirrors are folded, the price of the new Kia Mohave 2016 in the Premium configuration is from 2.65 million rubles.

Exterior and interior

There is nothing remarkable in the exterior of Mohave - the car looks even a little boring, attention is drawn only by the impressive size of the chrome grille.

The headlights are large, with a standard trapezoidal shape, the lines are straight and simple, and yet, thanks to its considerable size, the SUV looks solid.

Interior plastic of a Korean car is inexpensive, although not of the worst quality, there are wooden inserts, the steering column is adjustable in all positions (with an electric joystick).

There are a lot of niches for things in the cabin - in the door trims there are pockets for plastic bottles and various trifles, there are two compartments in the front armrest, and there are two cup holders on the gearbox console.

The front seats are electrically powered, in the Premium configuration they have many different adjustments, it is comfortable to sit on them, and the only drawback is the rather short "seats" themselves.

In the more expensive version, the option "electrically adjustable pedal assembly" is available, very useful for drivers of small stature.

The instrument cluster is quite deeply recessed into the panel, with white backlighting (and red around the edges), very informative, it does not glare in bright sunlight.

But there is also an inconvenience - the location of the air conditioner cannot be called successful, in bright light, the readings are practically not visible on its screen, and even at night it is difficult to see what temperature is set.

It is not easy for a tall driver to sit behind the wheel, even if the seat is fully pushed back, there is not too much space.

But the passengers of the second row feel quite comfortable in the car, and three of them will not be crowded here.

The farthest "gallery" is more suitable for children, after all, adults will feel uncomfortable there.

Trunk

The boot volume of the Kia Mohav is small, it is equal to 350 liters, but this is only when all the seats are in place.

The rear two backrests can be folded down extremely simply, in which case the luggage compartment is increased to 1050 liters.

You can also fold the second row, in which case the cargo compartment becomes very voluminous - 2765 liters.

There is a niche under the floor in the trunk for the tool, the spare wheel is attached outside, under the bottom of the car.

To open the tailgate, a handle is provided from the outside, it is located in the center, under the chrome trim.

On the right side there is a 12V socket, under it there is a backlight with a switch.

The door opens and closes manually, there is no electric drive.

Kia Mohave specifications

The Korean SUV assembled in Russia is equipped with a 3.0 liter diesel engine with direct fuel injection and turbocharging.

The number of cylinders is 6, their arrangement is V-shaped. ICE with a capacity of 250 liters. from. allows the car to accelerate to 190 km / h, "weaving" to gain in nine seconds.

A diesel engine for such a volume consumes fuel very economically, the consumption of diesel fuel per 100 km on the highway is 7.6 liters.

In urban conditions, diesel fuel consumption increases to 12.4 liters, the diesel is brought in line with Euro-5 standards.

The volume of the fuel tank is 82 liters, the engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, there are no other transmission options.

Despite the fact that the Mojave is considered a full-fledged SUV, there are no solid axles here, both suspensions are multi-link, independent.

Disc brakes are installed in a circle, front discs are ventilated.

The ground clearance of 217 mm and all-wheel drive allows the crossover to overcome shallow terrain, confidently drive on roads with any surface.

Permanent wheel drive - rear, front axle is connected using an electronic clutch.

The length of the car is almost 5 meters (4880 mm), the height of the crossover is 1.76 m, the width is 1.92 m.

With a wheelbase of 2.9 meters, the turning circle is 11 m, the curb weight of the SUV is 2.22 tons, the car is equipped with a power steering.

Sufficiently large dimensions make the SUV not very convenient for city use, the car is more suitable for long-distance travel.

Kia Mohave reviews

Car owners generally like the Korean crossover, although it is not without its drawbacks.

Positive reviews.

A big plus of the car is a spacious cabin, and if it accommodates no more than 4 passengers, then there is more than enough space for luggage.

Also, among the advantages, car owners note:

  • powerful engine providing excellent dynamics;
  • efficient, soft brakes;
  • high reliability, serious breakdowns occur infrequently;
  • easy control;
  • relatively low consumption of diesel fuel;
  • good equipment, the car has many additional options.

The main disadvantages of the Kia Mojav:

  • rigid suspension;
  • weak paintwork;
  • not the best build quality;
  • somewhat outdated design.

Shock absorbers (especially the rear ones) are not designed for such a heavy car, because of this, the car rolls along the road, with swaying, and suspension parts often have to be changed, since they cannot withstand the load.

Rough road is felt in the cabin, especially the rear passengers notice it.

The design of the SUV is somewhat archaic, the air conditioning and audio system also do not look modern, but this is not surprising, because the car has been produced since 2009.

Fans of this brand are looking forward to the new Kia Mohave in 2017.

It's time to update the model, release a car that meets all modern requirements.

Test drive and car review.
