Officially, Toyota does not confirm which engine and what equipment will be offered in Russia. It is quite possible that the 5.7-liter engine intended for the USA will not be available here. 1. The model first appeared in 1951 and almost immediately became synonymous with durability and reliability in Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.
2. This is the first car to reach the North Pole.
3. From the very beginning, there were two model branches of the Toyota Land Cruiser, differing in size. The smaller ones had the indices J2, J4, J7, J9, J12 and J15, the larger ones - J3, J5, J6, J8, J10 and J20. The latter, however, is called V8 in Germany, and in other countries - 200.
4. The prototype of the Land Cruiser appeared in 1951, but did not have that name yet. Its index was BJ, was used only by the army, authorities and forestries, had a 3.4 liter diesel engine with a power of 63 kW under the hood. The wheels were suspended from springs. In total, they were collected 298 pieces, of which only 4 copies got abroad.
5. Actually Land Cruiser was born in 1954, looked more civilian guy and changed the index to J2. In 1956, a 109 hp gasoline engine was added to the diesel engine.
6. The automatic transmission was introduced in 1981 on the J6.
7. In 1990, a version of the Lexus LX, based on the Land Cruiser J8, was first born.
8. The current generation J20, or “200”, has existed since 2008. After another facelift in 2015, its sales in Europe were discontinued, because the model does not comply with Euro 6 standards.
