Geely LC Cross is an experiment of a Chinese company, the essence of which is the transformation of the LC Panda hatchback into a crossover for minimal money. They managed to create all this, but we will discuss how good this idea is below. The model appeared in 2008, it also entered the Russian market, in some countries the name is different - GX2.
Visually, both cars are similar to each other, which is logical, the platform is the same, in fact the same car, but there are many external differences. In front, there are changes in optics, it has taken on a slightly modified form and filling. The bumper has been redesigned, massive plastic covers with round foglights are used to give off-road style.
The sidewall also looks rustic. The small wheel arches contain 14-inch wheels. There is a thick black molding in the center, underlined by thin embossing below. The front door glass is large, which significantly improves visibility. Roof rails are located on the roof, you can install an additional trunk on them.
The back of the Geely LC Cross is notable for the spare wheel mounted on the trunk lid. The rear bumper is also distinguished by a massive plastic protection with installed reflectors. In general, the whole design, but for the most part, the front end resembles a model.

The interior is distinguished by minimal elements - a steering wheel and an air conditioning control unit. The car is small, so there is not much free space, there is discomfort for tall passengers.
The front two LC Cross seats and the rear sofa in expensive trim levels are sheathed with leatherette. The chairs are quite comfortable, but as already noted, the amount of free space is upsetting. The luggage compartment space is also not impressive - only 250 liters, but if there was a spare wheel inside, the useful volume would be even less.
The 4-spoke steering column does not stand out, because the car is budget. The same should be said about the Geely LC Cross dashboard - stylishly designed analog gauges, they are easy to read, plus there is a simple on-board computer.
The center console has an oval design, but it cannot surprise with anything. Upstairs there is an audio display with a rear view camera if available. Music in the basic configuration consists of 4 speakers, and in the Comfort configuration there will be 6. Below are the selectors for the air conditioner and a cigarette lighter with an ashtray.

The Chinese manufacturer followed the principle of minimum costs, so we see weak motors and a simple suspension. There are two engines of different sizes and capacities.
- The base engine, located transversely, is a naturally aspirated 1.3-liter gasoline unit that produces 84 horses and 110 torque units. The 16-valve internal combustion engine works in conjunction with a 5-speed manual transmission linked to the front axle. There are no dynamics in the budget - 14 seconds a hundred and 155 km / h maximum speed. Combined cycle consumption - 7.2 liters.
- The second Geely LC Cross engine, in addition to mechanics, can be paired with a 4-speed automatic. In this case, here is 1.5 liters of volume with an armament of 94 horsepower and 136 H * m of torque. The dynamic properties are unknown, but the consumption in the combined cycle practically does not change, but on the machine it is higher.
The chassis is taken from LC (Panda), which implies on the front axle, the rear suspension is semi-independent with a torsion beam. Of course, such a simple chassis does not provide much comfort, but you should not expect another for such a price tag. The braking system for such a light weight of 985 kg is enough, the front is a ventilated disc circuit, and the rear is a drum mechanism.
Geely LS Cross price
The car belongs to a very cheap class, the minimum manufacturer will ask for the Basic version of 300,000 rubles. The cost implies the presence of:
- air conditioner;
- hydraulic booster;
- audio systems for 4 speakers;
- central lock;
- electric glass drive.
The cost of the Comfort configuration is unknown, but it will have two additional audio speakers, alloy wheels and 2 front airbags.
As a result, Geely LC Cross is quite a good experience for the Chinese, the very idea of \u200b\u200bmaking a cheap semi-crossover was a success. Is it worth buying instead of AvtoVAZ models? Of course yes, at least it will be a more unique solution than purchasing the same Priora.

First of all, Geely LC Cross 2014 2015 is able to interest motorists and experts as a frank experiment, the main goal of which was to transform an ordinary hatchback into a “pseudo-crossover” with minimal costs. What the Chinese did in this field and what did not, we will find out below, but for such bold experiments the manufacturer can only be given a "plus".
So, positioned as a SUV, the car, first of all, differs from the "progenitor" by increased ground clearance - up to 160mm, slightly modified exterior, as well as increased dimensions.
- So the length of the Geely LC Cross 2014 2015 has been increased to 3815mm, the width is up to 1648mm, the height is up to 1530mm, the weight of the pseudo-crossover is now 1025kg.
- At the same time, the wheelbase remained unchanged (which is quite understandable, because the manufacturer decided to do with a minimum of costs during the transformation) - 2340mm.
- The wheels with tires remained the same: steel or light-alloy 14 inches. wheels with 175 / 60R14 tires.
Changes to the exterior in front of Geely LS Cross touched on the headlights, false radiator grille, bumper.

It is not surprising that the interior almost completely repeats the decoration of the base car. The main differences are the four-spoke steering wheel, the increased size of the ventilation system fans, and the presence of a more advanced audio system.
Everything else in the cabin is the painfully familiar interior space of a miniature minivan, with the same small roominess characteristics (despite the fact that now the "spare wheel" is placed outside the cabin) - the trunk can accommodate only 250 liters. payload.
I was not surprised by the presence of only two configuration options: Comfort and Basic. The original equipment includes an air conditioner, a spoiler located above the rear window, an additional stop signal, a plastic body kit, a hydraulic booster, 4 electric windows, electric mirrors, 4 sound points. The next configuration has the best music (6 speakers), differs in the presence of front airbags, ABS with EBD, light-alloy 14-inch wheels.
Unsurprisingly, the "lowest cost" strategy is perfectly suited to describe specifications pseudo-crossover: engine, chassis, gearbox - passed to LC Cross from the hatchback without the slightest change. Ahead - the usual, behind - a beam. Gasoline 1.3L. the 86hp engine accelerates the car well to a maximum speed of 155 km / h. The appetites of the car regarding the consumption are quite acceptable - up to 7.5 liters. in combo mode. The new car does not have a clear gear change, and the lever movements in the free position are also excessively large - the 5-speed manual transmission is clearly rather weak.

Thanks to the changed proportions in comparison with the LC soplatform, the Cross variant looks much more harmonious, more holistic, more attractive and, which is important for domestic operating conditions, has a high ground clearance and, albeit weak, but protection of bumpers.
