Nissan's synchronous electric motor has 110 horsepower, while Renault has only 88 horsepower. For the rest, it is easy to guess that Renault Zoe was built on the upgraded Renault Clio platform. Nevertheless, an electric motor assembly with an inverter and a charger weighs no less than a standard gasoline or diesel engine with automatic transmission. A fly in the ointment, it turns out, was brought in by a charger, which could have been eliminated if the charging method for all electric cars had been standardized.

True, so far this is theoretically and not entirely clear to an unprepared motorist for electricity. For example, everyone understands how to refuel a gasoline or diesel car. But what about the electric car? There are several options here:

  • the battery can be charged for about eight hours to 100% capacity, for this you can use either a regular household outlet or a special wall charger;
  • accelerated charge mode - in this case, you need to use the services of a special filling station, charging will take from 10 to 30 minutes until the battery is full;
  • the most extreme option, but also the fastest - battery replacement, however, this is possible only in special service centers, of which there are not many in Europe either.

Of course, there are certain inconveniences, even significant ones. For example, on a Renault Zoe, you cannot drive further than 200 km from the outlet, otherwise you will have to get to the electricity in tow, and the second important factor is the price. The fact is that at the dawn of electric mobility, manufacturers with might and main talked about optimizing the cost of dysprosium (metal for the manufacture of electric motors), but in fact its price increased almost 18 times.
