The advantages and disadvantages of the Volkswagen Tuareg 2016-2017 are identified based on feedback from real owners. More detailed pros and cons of the Volkswagen Touareg 3.6 and 3.0 diesel with automatic and 4x4 all-wheel drive can be found in the stories below:

Owner reviews

Great car. Started with a gasoline V8, skated more than 100,000 km without any problems. Then I decided to try a 3.0-liter diesel engine, drove another 100,000. Also without any problems, although I was very worried about the quality of our diesel fuel (I only refueled with Lukoil or BP).

I drove to Astrakhan and Karelia - everything is fine. In terms of driving performance, the Volkswagen Tuareg cannot be compared with anything: the engine is chic and importantly economical. The power reserve is 1,000 km. The most important thing is to service according to the manufacturer's requirements.

Video review

The car is good, if not for some flaws. For the first MOT you need to pay about 20,000 rubles.

The main drawback is 11L. diesel fuel per 100 km on average. Although they write on the passport almost twice less. The rearview mirror covers a lot of space.

Vladimir Prikhozhanov, drives a Volkswagen Tuareg 3.0d (245 hp) AT 2015

I have Tuareg since 2008 224 horses diesel 3.0, the car is problem-free. For 240,000 km in the box I changed the valve stem seals and the harness (this is a penny repair), changed the lower arms and rear shock absorbers in the front end for 160,000, changed the upper arms by 180,000 and that's it.

For comfort, the new VW Touareg is very comfortable. Sat on it after Pajero 3 (Tuareg is an order of magnitude higher and more comfortable), 6-speed automatic. The truth is eating up on the highway normally 9.2-10.5 (how to drive), in the city 10.5-12.2 again how to drive. But that's fine with me.

Sometimes there is not enough grab for the engine, but from the spot rushing very well, quickly and powerfully. Another drawback is the air dampers, they are enough for about 40,000 km, after a small repair and not expensive, you can extend the life by another 20,000.

Vyacheslav Orekhov, drives a Volkswagen Touareg 3.0 diesel (245 hp) AT 2014

Nice car, premium class entrance. But "German quality and reliability" is alien to this car brand, despite the fact that I drive their "flagship" car ...

Tuareg is not reliable (breakdown of the air suspension with a mileage of 2,000 km). Expensive to maintain. Voracious. The cross-country ability is not an SUV. Only 2 years warranty.

From the pros - an impressive appearance and dimensions. Dynamic on the highway and in the city. The suspension adapts to the road. Spacious.

Alexey Syrokumov, drives a Volkswagen Tuareg 3.6 (249 hp) AT 2016

The car is cool, moderately fast and beautiful, but it's a SUV. Having tried once on the off-road, I try to go around difficult places more. It's just a car with high ground clearance!

If you ever come to drive off-road on a new Tuareg, then think twice, because it may cost you a pretty penny. The fact is that a "spoiler" is installed on the bottom of the front bumper. Fuck if he was needed there ... Well, this crap keeps on a couple of clips and breaks in. Moreover, the fastening near the wheel breaks, and at speed from the wind it is erased against the wheel. I changed it twice already. Terribly annoying. I plan to take it off to shit!

The next minus is the operation of the rain sensor, it feels like it is not there, but it seems to be there)) The sound in the drain with the RNS-550 radio tape recorder is complete squalor.

The owner drives a VW Touareg 3.6 (249 hp) with a 2015 automatic transmission.

I will compare, basically, with my previous KIA Sorento. Appearance: in my opinion, the Tuareg has one of the most harmonious exteriors. Especially in the R-Line body kit and on large wheels. There is absolutely no desire to change anything. I don't even want to tint.

Salon: there is a lot of space inside, and with a height of 190 cm, I can very comfortably sit in any of the four seats (including myself), except for the middle seat in the back, it is inconvenient due to the too high tunnel. All controls are conveniently located, the only thing that is not convenient is the control unit for external lighting devices, it is located to the left of the steering column.

Engine: when I just started driving, the 249 forces seemed incredibly vigorous, I think in contrast to the Sorento. Now I'm used to it, there is no more enthusiasm, but I am more than enough.

The eight-speed automatic transmission works quite quickly, the sports mode is especially interesting - in it, the engine keeps high revs even when the gas is dumped in order to always have a sharp pick up, I am very pleased. But there is also a negative point - basically, I don’t know what it depends on, the box switches VERY smoothly, like a variator, but sometimes, very unpleasant tangible jabs occur, I can’t remember those on Sorento.

Air suspension is just a miracle! I was very afraid to buy a car on 20-inch wheels, I thought it would be tough, but this is not about Tuareg on pneuma. Small irregularities, as well as large bumps and holes pass very comfortably.

Headlight. It's just a song. It shines VERY brightly and where you need it, it is enough even on wet asphalt. It's also adaptive.

Review of Volkswagen Tuareg 3.6 (249 HP) automatic transmission 2016

Mileage at the moment 2,400 km, while only happy. ICE 204 hp, when buying, they said there was no point in overpaying 120 tr. for 245 hp Like, for 20 tr. you will sew later.

Leather trim, but not nappa, for men of the rules. Audi's wife, they took her nappa - softer, more pleasant. The front seats are adjustable in all possible positions. My height is 192 cm and weight 115, very comfortable. Quite quiet in the cabin, fenders with some kind of wool.

The speakers are enough without reflashing: S-mode and a deeper pedal. Premium finish (aluminum, wood and soft plastic). The tank is 100 liters, and the computer says that it is enough for 1,020 km. Refuel and forget. Gasoline was not considered for these reasons. The dynamics are almost the same.

With regards to reliability, close ones have 2 such cars for about 5-6 years. No questions, consumables and that's it. Assembling my car is not Kaluga. Thoroughbred "fascist" (though he waited 3 months).

Review of Volkswagen Tuareg 2017 3.0 diesel with automatic

Cars from Volkswagen corporation to this day seem to be just an ideal purchase. But in reality, everything has long ceased to be as good as many believe. Many of the concern's cars turned out to be not the most successful, they received a lot of unsuccessful equipment, which the owners simply have to constantly repair. This causes a certain change in the feedback on these vehicles. Of course, this fact cannot but affect the manufacturer's rating. But all the negative accounts for mass cars, but they prefer to remain silent about the premium class. The large Tuareg crossover has fairly good reviews in all its generations. Loving him both new and used, they buy it for a family, for business, for long trips and for other purposes. In the competitive row, this SUV has quite a few bestsellers on the market, but to this day the car retains high positions in sales.

However, this car was not without problems. Especially serious problems arise when you buy a used car. This is Russia, and it is very difficult to choose a good used car here. When it comes to premium class, the complexity increases. Often these cars are well serviced, they are taken to service stations on time, stored in garages and covered parking lots. But the operating modes are ruthless, and the first owner knows very well that he will soon change the car to a more modern one. Therefore, the car is operated "to the holes", and then it prepares for sale and is actively sold in the secondary market marked "perfect condition". Today we will consider exactly where to look when buying a used car, as well as what factors of childhood diseases should be assessed. It is better to buy a Volkswagen Touareg new, but if you decide to buy a used car, be sure to consider the following recommendations.

1. Air suspension - problems cannot be avoided

In many versions and trim levels of this car, air suspension was installed with a large number of options. This is an interesting feature, but it will cost a fortune to maintain this unit on a German car. You might argue that such a suspension does not break, but this is true for cars up to 200,000 km. Then the expenses will come. The problems may be as follows:

  • one fine morning you may find that your iron horse began to waddle - fell on one wheel, heeled due to a failure of the rack, which is very expensive;
  • the pneumatics is connected to the diagnostic system, so that the car could unexpectedly report problems with the suspension and issue an error with a request to contact a service station;
  • the pneumatics reacts poorly to cold weather, on the first models, problems with low quality fittings were noticed, poor tightness of the suspension system appeared;
  • the compressor that pumps pressure into the pneumatic modules also failed on many cars older than 5-7 years, and this is a very expensive part that only needs to be replaced.

Air suspension problems are no longer relevant for new cars. Its design is completely different, and the quality of work is greatly changed. This means that when you buy a Touareg in the showroom, you won't run into the trouble of expensive chassis repairs. But it is better to buy a used car with spring suspension options. It may not be so comfortable, but it is reliable and inexpensive.

2. Twisted mileage - every second problem

The owners of a premium car are well aware that with a mileage of 300,000 km it will be impossible to sell a car for good money. Therefore, on every second Tuareg on the market, the mileage is significantly twisted. Only officials can determine the intervention when connecting the computer diagnostic equipment. It would seem that the twisting of the run is not so terrible. But in fact, this factor has the following features:

  • a German SUV requires a certain quality of service, each MOT is unique, certain spare parts are replaced according to the regulations, so that when twisting the service will be disrupted;
  • all parts and mechanisms have a certain resource, so the owners usually prepare for repair or replacement for a certain mileage, all breakdowns will be a surprise to you;
  • oil change intervals - when winding up the kilometer counter, no one thinks about future maintenance, so you can miss an important point with regular maintenance;
  • a car with a mileage of 350,000 km is already a lottery, and when buying a Tuareg with a mileage of 150,000 km, you actually get a new car without any problems in operation.

Therefore, the question of mileage remains open. Many owners recommend using even the most expensive options for checking the real mileage of the car to make sure that the data is original. Often, a repairman at a service station, when diagnosing a suspension, engine and other parts, can easily determine the approximate mileage. When buying such a car, you should definitely go for a good diagnosis.

3. Bad diesel fuel - the death of diesel technology

German cars with diesel engines are considered the most reliable in their segment today. But the first and second generation of Tuareg with a diesel engine turned out to be not so positive in terms of the quality of operation. The car confidently runs on good fuel, but when refueling at an unchecked gas station, it causes a lot of troubles and problems. Here are just a few of them:

  • the fuel pump breaks down - this makes it impossible to drive the car until the malfunction is eliminated, in this case the pump simply changes to a new one;
  • clogged injectors - this is a normal problem for all the first Touaregs with diesel engines, the fuel system will have to be cleaned often, and this is an expensive procedure at a service station;
  • the V6 TDI engine more or less copes with this problem, but when refueling with low-quality fuel, consumption can double or even more, and the system will malfunction;
  • the fuel filter is clogged, it is quite small, so after a few fillings with low-quality diesel fuel, the filter stops performing its tasks, this is a big problem.

If you have bought or are going to buy a VW Touareg of the first or second generation, you should carefully consider the choice of gas station. This is especially true for diesel units, which are quite serious about the purity and composition of the fuel mixture. Otherwise, you will become a regular guest of the service station, and the high cost of services will lure more and more money out of your wallet.

4. Poor chrome finish and decorative details

Another problem that Touareg owners face after 5 years of use is decorative. There are quite a few chrome-plated parts on the body and inside the car. They often start to fade and peel off after 5-6 years of using the machine. This is very odd considering the timeless chrome elements on the Tradewinds of the early 2000s, for example. The following problems may also occur:

  • the car very noticeably loses its attractiveness, the paint can fade and peel off on plastic parts, wipes the top layer of varnish on the paintwork, the shine leaves;
  • with frequent washing, already at the 5th year of operation, the paint begins to show the first problems, and this is very unlike Volkswagen, since cars did not have such diseases before;
  • chrome parts not only fade, it is impossible to do anything with them, you have to change them, ordering very expensive new decorative elements from the officials;
  • the decor in the cabin is also often poured out, plastic elements, inserts of other colors and textures fall out, but the manufacturer writes off this for poor-quality roads and a sloppy trip.

In general, the car is assembled with high quality, but there is absolutely no confidence in the little things in it. This is rather unusual as we are used to the perfect attention to the smallest details from VAG. If you take a Tuareg with a fairly high mileage, then you can hardly avoid the need to repair decorative elements. This is an important warning to all potential buyers of such vehicles.

5. The gearbox is reliable, but you can kill

When buying a new VW, there are no problems with the 8-speed automatic and other transmissions on the guard of the Touareg. But used cars, especially those with a considerable age, are distinguished by a huge number of malfunctions in this unit. The problem is that an automatic machine initially cannot serve as long as a manual transmission. The following problems often arise:

  • shocks when shifting gears that occur when internal equipment fails and is worn out, repairs are quite expensive, it will cost at least 1000 euros for the service;
  • incomprehensible errors on the on-board computer screen, which indicate the failure of the box parts, the electronic control unit often breaks down, which is not easy to replace;
  • the box may stop working spontaneously, unpleasant sounds often appear in it, extraneous hum, crackling when switching and other troubles that indicate an imminent breakdown;
  • not all masters undertake the repair of an 8-speed automatic and other automatic transmissions, since the gearbox is rather complicated, its design makes it possible to have a good repair only at branded service stations.

In recent years, Volkswagen has done a lot to ensure that car buyers can only be serviced at official stations. There are many specialized service stations in Russia with cheaper services, but this does not save you from significant repair and maintenance bills. The gearbox features should be considered before buying a car. It is important to drive the machine in all modes and check on computer diagnostics.

We offer you to watch a video about a used Tuareg and the features of its purchase:

Summing up

Modern cars always pleasantly surprise the owner with comfort and provide excellent opportunities for a comfortable trip. But they do not always guarantee high quality and long-term operation. When buying a used Volkswagen Touareg, you become a hostage to circumstances, forced to be serviced at a narrow circle of stations, to buy rather expensive parts. But the service for the car will not be needed too often, the car is reliable and successful in its design. Tuareg owners confirm that with moderate exploitation up to 300,000 km, only regular maintenance can be done.

However, many of the used Touareg on the market are dead enough. These cars are sold either when buying a new generation, or after receiving extremely unpleasant invoices from the service. The first option is preferable, so it is best to buy a used SUV from a friend. If you know the history of the car, then you can easily predict possible problems in the near future. Pay attention to the motors. It is often better to buy basic units without sophisticated fuel technology. In the case of used cars, this is the best choice. What do you think about the possibility of buying a used VW Touareg?

1. The German SUV is far from distinguished by the reliability of suspension parts, which is partly to blame for our roads. Weak points here are considered to be the tips of the steering rods, levers and ball joints. The components of the air suspension control system are also quite delicate and prone to breakage. A common phenomenon is the rapid wear of the compressor valve seals, depriving the German jeep of the ability to adjust the clearance and other delights of pneumatics.

2. Fans of aggressive driving style should use the brake pedal carefully, as the brake discs can be overheated and bent. Such a defect sometimes revealed itself even on cars with low mileage. A characteristic feature of curved discs is the impact on the steering wheel during hard and long braking.

3. Driving Tuareg is not as easy as it might seem at first glance. A very important role is played by the air suspension settings and the transmission mode, which determine the behavior of a heavy SUV on the road. It is not uncommon to hear complaints about the need for steering, large body roll in corners and stiffness when driving through small irregularities in the road.

4. In the cabin, which at first glance is finished with high-quality materials, while driving, especially on rough roads, the silence is disturbed by crickets and various tapping. Although this phenomenon is not widespread and does not occur on all machines. Sound insulation also falls short of the level of the car, which also negatively affects the overall feeling of comfort.

5. Electronics is another weak point of the VW Touareg. Minor non-critical breakdowns, such as a window regulator failure, heated mirrors, problems with the central locking, a frequent occurrence of a German jeep. Possible malfunctions of the parking sensors due to moisture ingress into them, breakdown of the wiper motor and freezing of door locks.

6. Automatic transmissions can cloud trips with jerks when changing speeds, which can usually be eliminated by flashing the electronic control unit. In the circles of owners, there is an opinion that early problems with automatic transmissions are directly related to the fact that the manufacturer does not recommend changing the transmission oil.

7. On vehicles with a mileage of more than 100,000 km, there may be problems with the front gear, while the rear gear has a longer service life.

8. In general, a reliable car paintwork can fly off and damage the varnish when chipped. In places, the varnish may peel off or swell.

9. On gasoline six-cylinder engines, the main gasoline pump and timing chain drive are considered weak points; diesel engines may have problems with the auxiliary drive belt.

2010 New modification introduced - NF

Body and electrical equipment: nnervous system

There are a lot of Tuaregs attractive at the price in the secondary market. This sometimes makes a potential buyer dizzy, and he is in a hurry to shake hands. Even an experienced motorist does not need to rush here. This is not a machine to agree to a deal without prior diagnosis.

The cars of the first years had problems with electronics, more precisely, with its software - software, if we speak in computer language. And "Tuareg", in fact, is a computer on wheels: about forty electronic modules communicate via the CAN bus with code combinations of zeros and ones.

The filling of the blocks themselves is quite reliable. Often the malfunctions were caused by the negligence of the owners: the blocks were flooded during dry cleaning of the salon; it happened that the drainage of the heater or the sunroof was clogged, and the water that got under the rugs quickly straightened out the wiring.

Choosing four to five-year plans, pay attention to the wiper motors and the buttons for opening the door and trunk glass. It's all to blame for corrosion, which seizes the axles and corrodes the contacts of the limit switches. For those who rarely stopped by the car wash, the room lamps also turn to dust. Cleaners have other problems: due to frequent washes with active shampoos, chrome peeled off from decorative body parts. On cars after restyling in 2006, these problems have noticeably diminished.

If the body itself rusts, then, most likely, it managed to be repaired (and, therefore, in an accident). Indeed, in normal operation, even seven-year-old specimens keep a stiff upper lip. And the point is not only in the plastic front fenders and the aluminum hood, which do not care about corrosion (the latter is passivated before painting), but also in the good-quality paintwork.

Transmission: jerk at close range

You need to go on a test drive in a warm car. So you will better feel the jerks when shifting gears - the first sign of the imminent demise of the automatic transmission valve body, the replacement of which will cost a tidy sum. Usually, the first symptoms appear no earlier than 200 thousand km, but if the car regularly strained off-road or dragged a trailer, then be prepared for an early replacement.

The peculiarities of the operation of a particular instance strongly affect the range of replacement times for certain units. For example, with predominantly highway crossings, the weakest suspension elements - stabilizer struts - serve 50-60 thousand km, and with frequent trips on broken roads they do not stand even 30 thousand. The ball joints of the upper arms extend respectively 60–100, the front shock absorbers - 80–150 thousand km. The resource of the steering tips is about 120 thousand km, the steering mechanism and rear suspension arms - 200 thousand, stabilizer bushings - 100 thousand km. Up to about 130 thousand km, the outboard bearing of the shaft going from the transfer case to the rear axle gearbox is silent. Brake pads wear out in 30 thousand km, discs last three times longer.

The geared motor for locking the transfer case on cars of the first years of production rarely lived more than 70 thousand km. The defect is clearly visible when turning on clean asphalt: if, after unlocking the center differential, the car goes jerky, then the drive has not worked.

There is an opinion that the air suspension struts are "consumable" here. We dare to assure: they serve for at least five years. But it is better to change cylinders proactively, so as not to end up with a sagging suspension somewhere far from civilization. First of all, this applies to cold regions - Siberia and the Far North. Another thing is leaks in the pneumatic system: if the car crouches after a long parking, pay attention to the brass fittings of the racks. They corrode in contact with the aluminum end of the cylinder and begin to poison. In 2006, the plant switched to duralumin fittings, and there were no worries. It happens the other way around: the suspension does not want to go down. This happens more often in winter. Condensation is to blame, which, having turned into ice, clogs the pipes. It is not enough to force them to thaw; in addition, it is necessary to drive the suspension up and down so that fresh air passes through the dehumidifier. By the way, this procedure should be done regularly. Do not worry about the life of the dehumidifier: when the engine warms up, it will dry itself.

Motor: stress on the heart

Diesel 2.5 l is the weakest in the line of engines. It is nonetheless popular and therefore well researched. The unit is very picky about the quality of the oil, so strictly follow the manufacturer's recommendations (the VW 506-01 or 507-01 tolerance must be indicated on the canister). Also, regularly check the oil visually by removing the dipstick. Especially on cars manufactured before 2007. It happened that the coolant penetrated into the oil through the pump or the oil cooler heat exchanger. An emulsion is a verdict for a turbine. Diesel fuel can also penetrate through the return line of the pump nozzles - then the oil acquires a specific smell that cannot be confused with anything.

The five-liter V10 is structurally similar, as it is assembled, to put it simply, from two in-line "fives". However, for some reason, there are fewer problems with him. The heads of these motors are essentially the same and are works of foundry art with many intricate amplifier jumpers. Sometimes some burst, but the manufacturer reassures: nothing terrible happened. If the head does not move, it really is.

The three-liter diesel engine with the BKS index is quite reliable, which cannot be said about its cousin CASA. The latter is very demanding on the quality of fuel, therefore, breakdowns of the injection pump are not uncommon. One thing pleases: it's easy to replace.

All gasoline units have one disease in common - the failure of the main gasoline pump (there is also an additional one that pumps up). On machines manufactured before 2005, the node sometimes did not live up to 40 thousand km. Another trouble is that the ignition coils burst. This happens more often when replacing candles, but sometimes on the way. Keep in mind that then there is only one road - to the service. Moreover, it is necessary to move on the smallest gas, otherwise the neutralizer will heat up so that it melts the interior elements - there have been similar cases. The VNK engine (3.6 l) with direct fuel injection is extremely rare, and there is a reason for that: the unit is not as powerful as the AZZ, BMV and BKJ engines (3.2 l), how much more complex and capricious.

Most of the Volkswagen Touareg's problems were solved during the first restyling. The second generation is almost flawless ...

There is perhaps only one European SUV that has experienced both overwhelming popularity and fair streams of negativity. This is a Mercedes-Benz ML.

But today's conversation will focus on VW Touareg, which "got nuts", including from me personally, who broke the front CV joint while timidly trying to hang out on a stone as high as a child's ball. But how expected the first SUV from Volkswagen! How proudly Ferdinand Piech walked at the company's stand during the first show in Paris in 2002. And there was something to be proud of! Excellent behavior on asphalt, comfortable ergonomic interior, good cross-country ability. All this determined the popularity, which in turn revealed a lot of congenital defects. It is clear that the owners themselves are largely to blame, who are not too versed in the intricacies of modern SUVs and who tried to operate the Touareg like some kind of Jeep Rangler Rubikon. The cross-country ability of the German all-wheel drive is really decent, the set of off-road options inspired and provoked, but the margin of safety and reliability of some nodes was at the level of crossovers. The designers took almost all the complaints into account when preparing the second generation Touareg, which was released in 2010. They say that the most common and unpleasant drawback of the new Touareg is the splash of diesel fuel in a half-empty tank, which can be heard even by upstream neighbors. Is it so?

Skip the first year of the VW Touareg II and grab it. The car will not disappoint!

HIGHER CAPACITY!
The first major update touched the Volkswagen Touareg in 2007, when the main "childhood diseases" were eliminated, and in 2010 a new model was released, in the range of which a version without a "lowering" and with a Torsen differential in the transfer case appeared. A separate column was a hybrid, but it is so rare that it is simply impossible to collect any sane statistics on it. By the way, in fact, it was also a crossover.

The new Touareg is 41 mm longer, 12 mm wider, and its wheelbase has increased by 38 mm. For Europe and Russia, a line of five motors, including a hybrid, has been preserved. An 8-speed automatic appeared, which caused some headache for the owners, despite the eminent origin, because the transmission was developed by the great and invincible Aisin. And even in the first year, oddly enough it sounds after the mention of the eliminated shortcomings of the first generation, electronics spoiled a lot of blood. In this case, it was not the control units that failed, but the vast periphery. Literally everything could fail - from the controller of the pre-heater and the contacts of lighting devices to those that suddenly appeared and disappeared when trying to diagnose "leaks to ground". As at one time, preference should have been given to the spring version, so in the second generation you should not chase electronic bells and whistles. Even xenon should be avoided if you do not want to be left without light on the track. And it becomes very annoying when the keyless entry system fails. Fortunately, the name is conditional and the key is still in the transponder key fob. But if you remember how much you had to pay for this option ... Moreover, more often it simply "slows down", and if you wait a couple of seconds, then most likely the locks will work. Or maybe not ... A battery of higher capacity will somewhat correct the situation, since it is precisely because of the rapid loss of charge by our long and dark winters that troubles with electronic equipment appear.

No one doubts the excellent off-road properties of the VW Touareg. But you need to use them wisely

WE ARE WHAT WE EAT
Do not try to find the probe in the new Touareg - it has become electronic. Moreover, it can show the weather on Mars, and in a second the value of pi is up to the 18th decimal place ... But the main problem of VW Touareg diesel engines is not in it, but in the use of not very high-quality fuel, which can still be found on the periphery ... Most of all, the most popular 3.0-liter engine sinned with this. Until 2011 (when the program of the control unit was changed and the high-pressure fuel pump was modified), he “drove the shavings”. At one time, SUVs with CASA series engines fell under a revocable campaign, but the owners of CJMA diesel engines can only get lucky for service. To the credit of the concern's minders, it should be noted that problems in the second generation Touareg in winter can arise only if you refuel with a very “diesel diesel”. Normal winter diesel fuel is digested even without being marked with the Euro brand. Do not be afraid of its smell in the cabin either. As a rule, this is a leaking fuel filter, which will cost 3000 rubles. with gasket. It is important that it is either OEM or from a trusted manufacturer. In general, there are no global difficulties with the second generation Touareg engines. Unless the front oil seal can begin to leak slightly in V6s (both petrol and diesel). However, this is a feature of many "sixes" and should not be very scary.

The salon can be disappointing. Squeaks, crackles and alarming flashing of indicators - the price for the lightness and complexity of the design

EIGHT IN A ROW
The chassis, suspension, and drivetrain can be pretty nerve-wracking for the owner of a Touareg built between 2010 and 2011. As before, the air bellows may begin to bleed air through the connections. This usually happens in cold weather and is most likely due to differences in the expansion coefficients of different materials. The Touareg most often falls on one wheel, rather than falling onto the axle, as, say, the Discovery of the second family. You can find a leak only on the "side", so it is treated by pulling everything and everything. Worse, if these measures did not help and the compressor needs to be changed, which will cost almost 100,000 rubles.

The new 8-speed gearbox from Aisin on cars with powerful engines began to "push" when shifting to a mileage of under 50,000 km, especially if the owners liked to "shoot" from traffic lights. In severe cases, this leads to replacement of solenoids and complete flushing (50,000 rubles). In the lungs, it is enough to reflash the "brains" of the box, reset emergency codes and reset the algorithms. It doesn't help for long, but it costs almost nothing.

In general, a used Touareg is worth the money. As a rule, most of the shortcomings were identified during the warranty period and have already been eliminated by the previous owner, therefore, in addition to the standard check of the car, it is worth inspecting its underside for scratches, jams and other similar damage. For all its enviable potential, the VW Touareg still doesn't like hard off-road driving.
