For diesel and gasoline engines, the parameters will be - the same! When buying, you need to know the shade - Colour and A type antifreeze approved for your year of manufacture 308 T7. Select the manufacturer at your discretion. Do not forget - each type of fluid has its own service life.
for instance For Peugeot 308 (T7 Body) 2012 onwards, with any type of engine, lobrid antifreeze class, type G12 ++ with shades of red, is suitable. The approximate period of the next replacement of which will be 7 years. If possible, check the selected fluid to meet the vehicle manufacturer's specifications and service intervals. It is important to know Each type of liquid has its own color. There are rare cases when a type is colored with a different color.
The color of red antifreeze can be from purple to light pink (green and yellow have the same principles).
Mix liquid from different manufacturers - canif their types match the mixing conditions.

  • Mixing of antifreeze with antifreeze is not allowed (refrigerated with traditional class liquid, type TL). No way!
  • Before a complete type change - rinse the radiator with plain water
  • At the end of its service life - the liquid becomes discolored or becomes very dull
  • Antifreeze and Antifreeze - very different in quality
  • Antifreeze - traditional type trade name (TL) old style coolant Additionally
  • Do not mix liquids of different colors and brands. If you need to top up coolant, but you do not know the brand of fluid filled into the system, replace all fluid in the cooling system. Only use products from trusted manufacturers. Remember that using poor quality coolant will result in costly engine repairs! Place the vehicle on a level surface before starting work.

    Check the coolant level on a cold engine only. Coolant is toxic, so be careful when handling it.

    Do not pour liquid into the tank above the “MAX” mark, as its volume will increase when the engine is running.

    When starting the engine, the caps of the expansion tank and radiator must be closed.

    Monitor the coolant level at all times. Its sharp decrease or increase should be a signal for an immediate check of the engine cooling system. If the freshly poured antifreeze suddenly unexpectedly quickly changed color to brown, it means that you were sold a fake, in which you "forgot" to add corrosion inhibitors. Change the fluid as soon as possible before it has time to corrode the elements of the cooling system.

    1. Check the coolant level. It must be between the marks "MAX" and "MIN »Printed on the wall of the expansion tank.

    ... and add coolant up to the "MAX" mark.

    4. Replace the expansion tank cap.

    NOTE

    If the expansion tank is completely empty, press on the filler cap of the radiator of the engine cooling system, turn counterclockwise ...

    And remove the plug

    Add coolant up to the edge of the filler neck. Then close the neck with the stopper.

    Add coolant to the expansion tank to the required level (see above).

    WARNING

    Tighten the filler cap of the engine cooling system radiator tightly. When the engine is running, the cooling system is under pressure, therefore, from under a loosely tightened plug, coolant can flow out or the plug can be ripped off.

    There are two valves in the radiator cap: the intakeANDand graduationB.The exhaust valve plays an important role in ensuring optimal engine temperature. It maintains an overpressure in the system of at least 0.08-0.10 MPa (0.8-1.0 kgf / cm 2), providing an increase in the temperature of the beginning of boiling of the coolant and preventing intense vaporization.

    When the valve is jammed in the closed position during overheating, a significant excess of excess pressure occurs - more than 0.2 MPa (2 kgf / cm 2), which can lead to damage to the radiator or breakdown of one of the hoses. In turn, valve jamming in the open position leads to premature boiling of the coolant.

    Therefore, rinse the radiator cap with running water once a year. If in doubt, replace the plug. Obviously, if the radiator cap is removed on an overheated engine and this action coincides in time with a thermal shock, then liquid boiling and the formation of air jams in the cooling system will be guaranteed.

  • Colors? (Elena)

    Good day, Elena. We have always said and will continue to tell our users that the color of the coolant does not matter. The color does not in any way affect the composition and additives added to the antifreeze. When buying this consumable, in no case should you be guided by color, since even an original coolant can be a fake with absolutely any shade.

    What kind of coolant to pour in the Peugeot 308?

    If you have this question, then first of all you should refer to the service book of your vehicle. In it, the manufacturer clearly indicates which consumables (antifreeze and oil) can be poured into the car. Green antifreeze, as you wrote, may be the usual domestic "Antifreeze", which is better not to fill in Peugeout, except in the most extreme case.

    Specifically, in the case of model 308, the manufacturer recommends using a refrigerant that belongs to the G12 standard. This classification applies to many manufacturers and is given only if the product is suitable for use in a particular car. G12 class products can be of any color - red, green, yellow, and blue. But (!) Not every green, red, yellow, or meets this standard. The best option would be to use an original product called "PRO" designed specifically for Peugeout and Citroen. But finding this coolant in stores can be problematic.

    When you come to the store for the refrigerant, ask the seller for the coolant corresponding to this classification or read the label on the package yourself - in any case, this information will be there.

    As for the manufacturers themselves, at present, pezhovodi practice the use of refrigerants such as:

    • Total;
    • Liquid Moli;
    • Hepu;
    • Antifreeze;
    • Sintec, etc.

    The choice is made only by you, depending on your preferences and capabilities. The cooling system of this car will require at least 6.2 liters of fluid. Replacing the coolant involves not only draining and filling material, but also flushing the cooling system, radiator and engine. You can familiarize yourself with this process in more detail - everything is detailed here. We hope you find this information useful.
