Reviews on the Internet about the consumption of the Chevrolet Cruze are very different. It is often not known how people calculate the consumption, to what extent the calculation of gasoline consumption is correct. It is possible that reviews about a small expense were paid for by the manufacturer, and about a high expense - by Cruz's competitors. I made my own measurement of fuel consumption and will describe in detail how I measured it.
There are two ways to measure the fuel consumption of a vehicle.
1. Measure the distance that the machine will travel when the tank is full. You need to know the volume of the fuel tank.
2. Request data on the average consumption from the on-board computer, if available. The Chevrlet Cruze LT 1.8 has a computer. By turning the wheel on the left steering column lever, you can display data on the average fuel consumption, on the current consumption at the moment (it is useful to know in which situations the engine consumes the most fuel).
I note right away that I measured the flow rate for. The running-in mode is not over yet, I try to get under way and gain speed smoothly, trying not to raise the tachometer needle above the three. I traveled both in the city and on the highway up to 100-110 km / h. It can be considered that there was a mixed regime. I did not use the air conditioner.
I filled a full tank of 95 at Lukoil at 70 km. The yellow light came on at around 590 km (a few kilometers before that, it did not light up for long a couple of times). The volume of the Cruise fuel tank is 60 liters. We count. 590-70 = 520 km - this is how much the car has gone from refueling to the yellow light. We divide 60 by 520, we get 0.115 liters per kilometer. This means that Cruz consumes 11.5 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers.
Let's say that after the light came on, 5-10 liters remained in the tank. In this case, we get 60/530 = 0113 * 100 = 11.3. Not a big difference.
As for the computer's performance, I don't know how much you can trust it. In the current fuel consumption mode, the computer often shows illogical numbers. For example, when you press the gas pedal harder, the current consumption may be less than when you pressed less gas and vice versa.
The Chevrolet Cruze is a popular passenger car from a Korean car manufacturer.
