Audi a6 lineup. Audi A6 (C6) - model description

The demand for the Audi A6 of the C6 series is high: if the car is in good condition, it sells very quickly. Most of the copies on the Russian market were imported from Europe, the rest - from the USA or officially sold in Russia. In Europe, the A6 The C6 was the best-selling car in the segment for three consecutive years from 2005 to 2007, with a turnover of around 120,000 units per year.

Prices for an Audi A6 C6 in good condition start from 400-500 thousand rubles, while for more recent copies they ask for about 1,000,000 rubles. The fall in value sparks interest in the car from people who are not really able to maintain it. Having bought a used A6 with the last money, or, even worse, on credit, the owner soon realizes that the operating costs "bring him to his knees." Moreover, the complexity of the A6 C6 design excludes the possibility of independent or cheap repair.

With regards to copies from Germany, it is necessary to understand that the Germans got rid of the "good" Audi A6 for two reasons: after a serious accident or because of the high mileage, reaching 300,000 km. An annual mileage of 50,000 km is common in Europe. Honest owners of auto dealerships argued that buying an A6 in Germany from the first owner for resale was unlikely. Such copies are very expensive and do not provide an opportunity to make good money. One of the used car dealers admitted that the procedure for resetting the mileage counter is in the order of things, and it is more complicated than in the previous version, but easier than in the BMW 5 E60.

Body and interior

The organization of the interior space can only be described in one word - amazing! As a result of the location of the engine in front of the front axle, and not behind it, in the depth of the body, as in BMW, it was possible to obtain a huge interior. The disadvantage of this arrangement is the large front overhang, which is why many drivers damage the front bumper when parking at high curbs.

The A6 has the largest trunk in its class - 555 liters, while in BMW it is 35 liters less, and in Mercedes - 15 liters. The shape of the Audi trunk is more correct. There is room under the floor for a full-size spare wheel and a battery on the right side.

In the case of Audi, there is no need to be afraid of rust. Cars from Ingolstadt are renowned for their good corrosion protection, "double galvanized" sheet metal. The body elements of the front end of the A6 C6 are made of aluminum, as in the BMW 5 Series E60. If the inspection reveals "red spots", especially on the hood, fenders and trunk lid, then you can be sure that the car had episodes with an accident in the past. It was the hood and fenders that were originally made entirely of aluminum, which does not corrode. Often, when damaged, cheap alternatives made from heavier sheet metal are installed. However, in recent years, traces of corrosion can be found in the area of the thresholds.

Chassis

Aluminum parts are also used in the suspension. For example, the front lower wishbones. The suspension has a complex multi-link design, which is common for this class. However, chassis components wear out too quickly. The front levers, as a rule, have to be sorted out every 100,000 km (from 17,000 rubles for a set of levers). Rear levers nurture up to 200,000 km.Front wheel bearings can make noise after 100-120 thousand km.

As an option, the A6 offered air suspension with the ability to change the ground clearance (included in the basic equipment of the Allroad model). The air suspension is more reliable than the Mercedes analog, but do not forget that when it comes to replacing shock absorbers with built-in pneumatic elements, the service will issue a five-digit bill - 70-80 thousand rubles. Failures in the system are often caused by rotten wiring (about 8,000 rubles). If you move for a long time with a faulty pneumatic system, the compressor and valve block may fail (over 23,000 rubles).

The Audi A6 is capable of surprising with very effective brakes, but the front brake discs and pads quickly deplete their resource. And the replacement costs will certainly disappoint you. An electric parking brake was fitted as standard. Its faults are common (often due to wiring problems).

Electronics

Audi A6 C6 received a large number of different electronic systems. Unfortunately, with age, owners have to deal with minor disruptions in its work. For example, parktronic sensors fail (from 1,000 rubles for an analog or 5,000 rubles for an original). Or the fan control unit of the cooling system fails (contacts rot).

All vehicles are equipped with Multi Media Interface - MMI for short. It is an integrated on-board electronics system with a display in the center console and a controller between the front seats. There are several varieties of it: 2G Basic, 2G High, and after restyling 3G with navigation, DVD and hard drive. The MMI does not allow the control of as many units as the iDrive in BMW. The Audi driver can only know how soon he needs to report to the service. However, hidden features such as oil level detection or battery voltage can be unlocked using the diagnostic interface. Using VAG-COM or VCDS, it is quite possible to independently change many parameters of various devices. However, without proper knowledge, it is easy to bring the car to a complete blockage.

Transmission

The least stable CVT is considered the Multitronic, which is present only in machines with front axle drive. Problems with the variator may arise after 100,000 km. Much more reliable is a Tiptronic automatic with a classic torque converter, which was used exclusively in all-wheel drive versions of the Quattro.

Audi claims that it is not necessary to change the oil in the box, but this is not true. Without changing the oil, automatic transmissions reach a maximum of 200-250 thousand km, and Multitronic ends even earlier. It is recommended to renew the oil every 60,000 km. Then the machine is able to cover more than 400,000 km. In case of problems with any of the automatic transmissions, before going to the service, you should stock up on the amount of about 100,000 rubles.

Drive unitQuattro

Quattro all-wheel drive system is available in all variants, except for cars with 2-liter engines. Wheel traction is constantly transmitted to all four wheels, but in different proportions. The Torsen center differential is responsible for the distribution of torque along the axles. In addition, an electronically simulated differential lock is used on the front and rear axles.

It should be noted that the all-wheel drive system is very reliable. Malfunctions are extremely rare, and even then, only for those who like to "light up": the bearings of the transfer case wear out, and there is a backlash in the shank.

The manufacturer declares that the transmission fluid is filled for life. But in fact, the fluid resource is much less than the transmission itself - a hum appears. It is recommended to renew the oil at least once every 100,000 km.

Engines

The engine palette includes 20 different options, of which 12 are gasoline.

In the short term, the cheapest to operate are gasoline engines, especially the 3-liter. A common problem with gasoline units is unstable ignition coils. Owners of diesel versions will face high costs to replace expensive equipment.

The most risky is the 2.0 TDI diesel with unit injectors. The most common defects are wear of the oil pump drive and cracking of the block head. In addition, setbacks followed the unit injectors and the EGR valve.

In 2007, the 2-liter turbodiesel received a Common Rail injection system, and the shortcomings were eliminated. However, the injection pump began to cause problems. Keep in mind that the 140 hp and 170 hp versions of the powerplant have many design differences. The most important of these is the presence of piezoelectric injectors in the stronger motor, which cannot be restored.

A lot of controversy is caused by diesel V6. All engines use a "Common Rail" injection system and a chain-type timing drive, which includes a group of chains. Unfortunately, it cannot be called unattended. After about 150-200 thousand km, problems arise with the upper timing chain tensioner. If the chain had been placed in its usual place - in the front of the engine, the replacement would not be difficult. But Audi engineers were overly clever by placing the timing drive on the side of the gearbox. Therefore, to get to the tensioner, the engine must be completely dismantled. In the best case, you will have to pay 50-60 thousand rubles for repairs.

Some owners ignore the noise of the camshaft drive chain, claiming that this is normal. In a neglected case, when the noise becomes too loud, the chain may jump by a couple of teeth, which can damage the valves. In this case, the repair will require at least 100,000 rubles. After restyling in 2008, the tensioner problem was resolved. However, the timing chain is often stretched to 250,000 km.

Also in TDI engines there are malfunctions typical of modern diesel engines. For example, a malfunction of the intake manifold flaps, which change its length. The cost of the new collector is about 30,000 rubles. In addition, the throttle assembly (gear wear) or the differential pressure sensor of the DPF filter may fail. After 200-250 thousand km, you should be ready to replace the turbocharger.

However, there is no doubt about the durability of diesel engines. If you replace, albeit an expensive, faulty unit, then you can go on almost forever. It is not uncommon for an A6 with a 2.0 TDI engine to run 500,000 km in 4-5 years as a taxi, and continue to work properly further. Nevertheless, many owners, on the eve of large expenses, simply give their car for little money.

Gasoline engines require less maintenance as long as they are in good working order. However, in the case of the TFSI, the ignition coils, thermostat, and sometimes the intake manifold are often troublesome. The latter ailment is very expensive to eliminate. The 2.0 TFSI has sophisticated equipment, and the simplest design is a 2.4-liter V6 without direct injection. True, it is not without its drawbacks.

Engines 2.4, 2.8 FSI, 3.2 FSI and 4.2 FSI have problems with the timing chain drive, which are similar, in fact, to 3.0 TDI: premature wear and difficulty in replacement (timing drive from the box side). Some specialists have adapted to change the timing chain drive of 2.4, 2.8 and 3.2 liter engines without removing the engine.

All atmospheric gasoline units, with the exception of the 3-liter, sometimes present unpleasant surprises in the form of scuffing and, as a result, excessive oil consumption. There are several reasons: faulty fuel injectors that flush oil from the cylinder walls; tightening with oil change; poor quality oil and lack of control over its level.

Operation and costs

A typical problem with the restyled version is burned out LED lights (LED) in the headlights and taillights. Apparently, the engineers thought that they would be eternal, since they did not provide for the possibility of replacing the LEDs separately from the headlight. Fortunately, craftsmen have learned how to restore the optics to work by replacing burned out LEDs and resistors. In the early years, the MMI system sometimes freezes. In this case, installing new software often helps. But sometimes you can't do without visiting a specialized service.

Unfortunately, we have to admit that the image of the Audi A6 C6 is a little overrated. Some examples are constantly annoying with malfunctions, especially cars of the initial period of production. It is quite possible to buy a good A6 for 400-500 thousand rubles, but it is unlikely that it will completely satisfy the owner in the future. Only cars after restyling in 2008 have become more thoughtful and reliable. The worst part is that neither low mileage nor regular visits to the dealer service station protect against many malfunctions.

Until the Audi A6 breaks down, it's hard to find serious flaws in it. The premium finish, rich equipment and the most spacious interior in the class are a real delight. The interior looks great without signs of fatigue even after two three hundred thousand kilometers. This is very pleasing to any kind of traders who, without any fear, rewind the odometer counter back 100-200 thousand km.

The powerful engines and the Quattro all-wheel drive system add to the positive emotions. However, significant defects in gasoline engines are of concern, the likelihood of which increases with increasing mileage.

Special versions

AudiA6Allroad

The Audi A6 Allroad was produced from 2006 to 2011. All cars on the standard equipment list had AWD and air suspension. The engines offered were gasoline 3.2 or 4.2 liters and diesel - 2.7 and 3.0 TDI. The vast majority of copies have a Tiptronic automatic transmission. The cost of the car is very high.

AudiS6 andRS6

While the S6 looked pretty "decent", the RS6 introduced in 2008 was a monster with heavily inflated wheel arches. Both models used a V10 engine: the S6 5.2L and 435hp, and the RS6 5.0L 580hp. At first, the RS6 was only available in the Avant station wagon, but a year later a sedan appeared.

The 5.2-liter V10 has the same basic design as the 3.2- and 4.2-liter engines. The V10 has a tight layout - the adjacent cylinders are too close. As a result, the engine experiences enormous thermal loads, which contributes to the rapid aging of the oil. The use of "Long Life" oils and, accordingly, long drain intervals contributed to engine wear for the first 100,000 km. The problem affected almost all copies of 2007-2008. Later, a number of changes were made, including shortening the oil change interval, but the high risk of overhaul remained.

Gasoline engines - a brief description

The 2.0 TFSI is the only petrol 4-cylinder in the range. In other VW Group vehicles, it has a higher power output. In this model, it is assigned the role of the base motor. The power unit is too weak and has serious disadvantages: high oil consumption and accumulation of deposits in the block head. It is worth noting that this motor differs from those that were installed in the A4, A5 and Q5, where they earned a notoriety as an oil eater.

2.4 - has the simplest design in the line of A6 C6 engines and uses distributed fuel injection. Typical malfunctions: failure of the thermostat and flaps in the intake manifold. There is a high risk of scuffing the cylinder walls.

2.8 FSI is a modern engine with a direct injection system, variable valve timing and a timing chain. It is also prone to scuffing, but it is more difficult to liner the engine - the cylinder walls are too thin.

3.0 is an old design engine that was used by its predecessor. It has a belt-type timing drive, for replacement of which it is necessary to disassemble the front of the car. The naturally aspirated V6 with multipoint injection is very reliable, but finding a car with such an engine in good condition is a big problem.

3.2 FSI - has direct fuel injection and is usually combined with a Tiptronic automatic transmission.

4.2 / 4.2 FSI - The V8 from Audi sounds great and rides well. Fuel consumption is at an acceptable level - 13-15 l / 100 km. Until 2006, a version with distributed fuel injection was used, and after that - with direct fuel injection (FSI). The first has a combined timing drive: belt + chain, and the second has a chain drive. FSI is slightly lighter and more economical, but not as durable as before. Carbon deposits build up on the intake valves and there are problems with the durability of the timing chain drive. The reliability of the upper timing chain also raises questions in the version with multipoint injection.

Diesel engines - a brief description

2.0 TDIe - a small e means a small sacrifice in favor of the environment: power is reduced by 4 hp, a particulate filter and tires with reduced rolling resistance are installed.

2.0 TDI 140 HP - turbodiesel with unit injectors, which should be discarded. A 2-liter turbodiesel can only be considered after modernization in 2007, when a common rail power system was applied.

2.0 TDI 170 HP - the engine differs significantly from the 140 strong counterpart, including the presence of piezoelectric injectors that cannot be repaired.

2.7 TDI - the predecessor of the 3.0 TDI, has a common rail injection system and a timing chain drive. Most reliable in the pre-styling version.

3.0 TDI - initially had many problems, later they were gradually eliminated by Audi engineers. Turbodiesel allows you to get great driving pleasure, but it is very expensive to maintain and repair.

Conclusion

Don't be fooled. Cheap Audi A6 of the first years of production are already seriously depleted, which means they promise high costs. It is better to pay attention to the more expensive restyled copies of recent years.

The car allows you not to seem solid, but to be so. The sixth model Audi 97 - 04 onwards looks personable, but not cocky, like a "boomer" and not pompous, like a Mercedes. Modest and tasteful.

Among the second hand you can find cars originally sold in our country. In recent years, Audi has enjoyed widespread popularity. Although there are European options.

Body and chassis

Previously, the sixth model had 2 body options: a station wagon and a sedan. They are not uncommon in our country, not like Mercedes station wagons or Boomers.

Audi is favorably distinguished by a galvanized body, since it is absolutely not afraid of salts that corrode the paintwork of cars of other brands. The only thing that reagents can threaten is glass lifters. Replacement is quite expensive.

Replacing the aluminum chassis levers is expensive. Often among fans of aggressive driving, they do not live up to 60,000 km. A set of new levers will cost at least 17,000 rubles. They are not designed for domestic roads. Consumables also include rods and front stabilizer struts.

Motor and transmission

The A6 is characterized by a rich variety of gasoline engines: from a simple 1.8-liter to v 6 and v 8! There are also diesel versions, which are widely used in Europe. Almost all engines are durable but moody. If the filter and oil are not changed in time, valve lifters fail. A distinctive feature of the Audi is also the increased oil consumption of middle-aged cars. Sometimes it takes up to 1 liter per 1000 km. The situation gets worse with age.

The most economical are engines with a volume of 1.8 liters, 1.8 liters turbo. However, if the turbine breaks down, get ready to part with at least 50 thousand rubles. The 1.8 T AWT engine is in high demand in the used spare parts market, its price is about 60 thousand rubles.

In the secondary market, the most common version with a 2.4 liter v 6 engine. It is widely recognized for its economical maintenance and motor power. One of its disadvantages is the increased oil consumption.

Perfectionists prefer the v8 with 300 hp. However, the repair of this version and replacement will cost no less than the repair of the eighth, more representative model.

For those who like to drive, a v 6 engine with two turbines is suitable, but if the turbines fail, already 130,000 km will have to fork out a lot.

Used diesel versions are not widely used in our country. The reason is the finickyness of the engine for fuel, because of which it becomes necessary to overhaul the engines.

As for the transmission, there are no complaints about the manual transmission. 9 years after the purchase, she continues to serve faithfully. The tiptronic automatic transmission has its own nuances. She dies already at 140,000 km.

Many are wary of used four-wheel drive vehicles. And completely in vain. With attentive service, everything will be fine.

Their only drawback is frequent malfunctions of fuel level controllers. Often they show a perfectly acceptable level when in fact it approaches zero.

Cost.

The aftermarket is characterized by a variety of prices for cars made in Germany. They offer both dead copies and models in almost perfect condition. When buying a car, be sure to contact a specialist. Minimum price - 240,000 rubles

Possessing a lot of advantages, the sixth model at any age requires considerable investment. When deciding on an expensive purchase, keep in mind that repairing the Audi A6 will not be cheap.

The family of business class cars Audi A6, produced by the renowned German manufacturer since 1994, has a rich and glorious history. Thanks to several generations and timely restyling, the developers managed to significantly improve the model.

Its modern interpretation is characterized by an impressive exterior design, effective anti-corrosion protection of the body, a spacious and ergonomically organized interior, high-tech solutions in the field of dynamics and safety. The history of the Audi A6 is the embodiment of the traditions and experience of the legendary brand.

In 1982, at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the C3 model was presented to the automotive community, the body of which had an aerodynamic coefficient Cx = 0.30, which was extremely low for that time. This solution ultimately resulted in significant fuel savings. Another innovation was the use of flush windows (recessed windows), which also influenced the parameters of aerodynamic resistance. In 1990, this model received an innovative direct injection diesel power unit. With a performance of 120 hp this engine showed reduced fuel consumption.

Since 1984, the model has been equipped with the Quattro all-wheel drive system. In September 1985, the first modifications of the C3 appeared with a fully galvanized body. In the late 1980s, a version of the Audi V8 was introduced to the market. It was based on a modification of the Audi 200 Quattro (with an automatic 4-band gearbox, rear and center Torsen differential).

Audi 100 and 200 C2 Not produced

years of production from 1977 to 1983

The production of the C2 model was launched in 1976. It is characterized by the presence of an increased wheelbase, more refined than the C1 model, interior design and a 5-cylinder engine. As part of this generation, a station wagon version of the Avant was released in 1977. In the course of the 1980 restyling, the exterior of the car was updated (the shape of the rear lights was changed), the capacity of the luggage compartment was increased to 470 liters, the interior was improved, 4-cylinder engines of different volumes and performances were introduced into the engine range. In 1981, the line was expanded with a CS version with a front spoiler and light-alloy wheels.

Audi 100 and 200 C1 Not produced

years of production from 1968 - 1976

The production of the Audi 100 C1 sedan, which the company began on November 1, 1968, became the basis of the model's modern success. The Audi 200 variant was the same modification of the Audi 100, but in a more expensive version (it had an improved finish and a richer basic equipment).
Since 1970, C1 cars have also been produced as a coupe. This version has been the largest vehicle of the Audi car manufacturer since its inception. In 1973, the car was restyled: the radiator grille became more compact, steel springs appeared instead of the rear torsion bar, and the shape of the rear optics changed. As a result, the car began to look more relevant and stylish. This model was equipped with a 4-cylinder power unit, working in conjunction with a rear-wheel drive and mechanical transmission.

In 1997, spring came and Audi released a new body for the Audi A6 C5, they were already sold in sedan and station wagon bodies (Avant). In the new version, of course, the design was changed, but the silhouette and style of the "muzzle" of the car remained similar to all other Audi models, for example, the Audi A4. The design was redesigned in such a way that improved aerodynamics of the car and as a result, the model became a serious competitor for the Mercedes-Benz E and BMW 5. A few years later, one of the automotive magazines included this sedan in the list of 10 best cars in 2000.

Starting with this model, the famous sports version of it appeared, which was called the Audi S6.

As for the body, the company decided to do everything ideally and galvanized it, so that it did not rust, the manufacturer, realizing this, gave the buyer a 10-year warranty on the body.

Exterior

At the front, the sedan received large optics with a lens inside, but in general with a halogen filling. There is a long hood with fairly strong reliefs as wide as the radiator grille. The radiator grill, in turn, has a chrome edging around it. The massive bumper of the model also has chrome edging in some places, as well as round fog lights.

The side of the car has really muscular arches and a small aerodynamic line at the top. The body shape has also changed, it has become smoother.

The back part also has a smooth shape, optics of a different shape with a good design are used. The smooth large trunk lid essentially has nothing interesting except the chrome insert at the bottom. The rear bumper has a huge plastic insert and, in fact, nothing else.

The car's suspension is entirely made of aluminum, which slightly reduces reliability, but reduces the weight of the car. The model has a completely independent system, a multi-link system is installed in front, it is a stabilizer bar and 4 levers for each wheel. A multi-link system is also used at the back.

The manufacturer offered different gearboxes for the Audi A6 C5 (1997-2004), there are both mechanics with 5 or 6 steps, and a 5-speed automatic, and there were also variators on some versions. The car has front-wheel drive in most trim levels, but there were also quattro all-wheel drive versions.

Salon

Unfortunately, the interior of the car has not changed much, but there are still some differences. At the front, there are decent heated leather seats with a bit of lateral support. The back row received a sofa for three passengers. In the middle below there are retractable cup holders. There is also an armrest with niches for small items. There is ample space in both the front and back.

The steering column is a 4-spoke steering wheel with adjustment for both height and reach. Dashboard - 4 small analog gauges and two large speedometers and tachometers. There is also an on-board computer with little information about the car.

The center console at the top has an emergency button and one cup holder that pops out at the push of a button. Below is a head unit operating on cassettes, these receivers have long been replaced by more modern ones. The control unit for 2-zone climate control has seat heating knobs, three monitors and many buttons for setting.

The tunnel is inherently simple, but most of it is made of wood. There is a niche for little things, a large gear selector. Then the tree ends and the plastic begins, on which the rear-view mirror adjustment selector is located. In the same area there is a parking brake handbrake and an armrest. The trunk has practically not changed, its volume is 551 liters.

Price

This car can be easily purchased on the secondary market, where the average price is 300,000 rubles, there are more expensive options, there are cheaper ones, as you understand, it all depends on the condition and configuration.

Whether to purchase this model or not is up to you. In principle, the Audi A6 C5 is a good sedan, but it is already a bit old and despite the fact that it is reliable, it still starts to break down a little because of age.

Was modernized and the model name was changed to A6. Sedans and station wagons were equipped with petrol "fours" 1.8 and 2.0 (125-140 hp), inline five-cylinder engine 2.5 (133 hp) and V-shaped "sixes" with a volume of 2.6 and 2.8 liters (150 –193 hp) There were also 1.9 TDI and 2.5 TDI turbodiesels. Buyers were offered versions with sedan and station wagon bodies, the drive could be front or rear. The most powerful version of the car was called.

2nd generation (C5), 1997-2004

The second generation Audi A6, which still had sedan and station wagon versions, began production in 1997. A wide range of power units was offered for this model. Gasoline engines had a volume of 1.8 to 3.0 liters (125–250 hp), including turbocharged engines. There were two turbo diesels - 1.9 TDI and 2.5 TDI, different power options. In addition to the "charged" version (335 hp), there was also a super-powerful version with a 444 hp engine. from.

In 1999, for front-wheel drive "a-sixths" began to offer a continuously variable variator, then an off-road station wagon appeared. In 2001, "Audi A6" was updated: the car's suspension, gearbox were modernized, the range of engines was updated. In total, more than 1.2 million A6 cars were produced at factories in Germany and China.

3rd generation (C6), 2004–2011

The third generation car, which debuted in 2004, has become even larger, more comfortable and richer in equipment (for example, the MMI multimedia interface). A long-wheelbase version of the sedan has been prepared especially for the Chinese market. In 2008, the Audi A6 has undergone a restyling.

4th generation (C7), 2011–2018

The fourth generation of the Audi A6 sedan began production at the Neckarsulm plant in December 2010, and European sales began in April 2011. In the fall of the same year, the Avant station wagon version debuted, and in 2012, the Allroad "off-road" station wagon.

The wheelbase of the car has become larger compared to its predecessor, instead of the power steering, the car received an electric power steering, and the all-wheel drive versions have a new transmission (asymmetric differential with a multi-plate clutch). Part of the car body panels were made of aluminum.

The list of options now includes, for example, fully LED headlights, active cruise control, and a lane-keeping system.

The range of power units consisted of 2.0 TFSI and 3.0 TFSI petrol turbo engines, 2.8 FSI "aspirated" engines, as well as two and three liter turbodiesels. Front-wheel drive cars were equipped with variators, all-wheel drive - with a seven-speed robotic gearbox, although for the basic versions it was possible to choose a six-speed "mechanics".

In 2012, a charged version of the Audi S6 appeared, and a year later, an even more powerful Audi RS6. In 2012–2014, a hybrid version of the model was produced.

Audi A6 sedans and station wagons were officially sold on the Russian market. In 2011, prices started at 1,660,000 rubles for a car with a 2.0 TFSI engine (180 hp), front-wheel drive and a manual transmission. For several years, SKD assembly of machines for Russia was carried out at a plant in Kaluga.
