Often, drivers also complain that the stove is blowing cold air at idle and low engine speeds; while the car is moving, the interior warms up. The reasons can also be different, but in order to solve the problem, you need to start troubleshooting sequentially, checking the status of all nodes. 
The stove blows with cold air on VAZ 2110 cars
The reasons for the lack of hot air in the passenger compartment of auto models VAZ 2110-2111-2112 are generally the same as on 2113-2114-2115, but on the "tens" and "dvenashki" there is also an additional automatic control system for the stove (SAUO), which may also crash periodically. The temperature sensor in the cabin 2110 is located on the ceiling, and the damper is on the heater control unit, it is controlled by a micromotor gearbox. If the stove blows with cold air on VAZ 2110 cars, both the sensor itself and the heater control system may be faulty.
Heater motor malfunctions
The search for a malfunction in the heating system of front-wheel drive VAZs should start with the stove motor:
- turn on the ignition, start the engine;
- on the heater control unit, we check the operation of the motor in all positions. If you can hear how the oven motor changes speed when you switch the turntable, most likely it is in good working order.
The stove motor may not work for several reasons:
- the fuse responsible for the operation of the electric motor has blown;
- the contact in the mounting block is oxidized;
- the switch itself is faulty;
- there are breaks in the wiring;
- the oven motor burned out.
If the motor only runs at maximum speed (third position), the resistor is most likely faulty.
When the stove motor burns out, it needs to be replaced. We carry out the work to replace the part as follows (for example 2114):

Malfunctions in the cooling system
The stove may blow out with cold air due to faults in the cooling system. If the stove motor is serviceable, we look for the reason for supplying cold air to the passenger compartment instead of hot air in the following order:
- Antifreeze spills out of the expansion tank.
- The gauge in the instrument panel shows a high temperature.
- The engine is troit.
- Antifreeze gets into the oil, the engine oil brightens.
If it breaks through the cylinder head gasket, often cold air blows into the passenger compartment only at low revs, when gas is poured, the cooling system "breaks through" and hot air begins to flow into the passenger compartment. Very often, replacing PHBC will solve the problem.
Defective stove faucet
Problems with the stove faucet on VAZ 2108-15 cars are quite common - if the faucet is partially or completely closed, it does not allow hot antifreeze to flow into the stove radiator. The problem with the heater tap is that it sour over time, and the damper in it stops moving. To prevent the valve in the faucet from souring, it is necessary to turn it at least once a week, moving it to the open and closed position. 
You can make sure that the faucet passes warm air by comparing the temperature of the pipes in the engine compartment and the passenger compartment - with the tap fully open, the pipes should be equally hot. Changing the heater faucet is quite troublesome, so you should buy good quality original parts for replacement.
Clogged heater radiator
Over time, the heating radiator of the VAZ 2108-15 may clog, on the VAZ it is in the cabin, under the dashboard on the passenger side. It should be noted that radiators are not clogged with dirt so often, they mostly leak. A stove radiator leak is determined by the appearance of antifreeze on the carpet under the front passenger mat. To replace the heater radiator, you need to tinker a lot, disassemble almost half of the entire interior.
Airlock formation
On cars of the VAZ 2110 and VAZ 2114 models, an air lock often forms in the cooling system, mainly it occurs:
- due to loose connections in the nozzles (for example, the clamps are loosely tightened);
- after replacing the coolant;
- if PHBC is broken.
The plug can be removed in several ways (provided that the head gasket is not punctured), consider one of the options. To expel air from the cooling system, we proceed as follows:
- we put the car on a hillock so that the engine is higher in level;
- turn off the cover of the expansion tank;
- pour the antifreeze into the tank to the maximum;
- we start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature, increase the speed to somewhere around 3000;
- gently squeeze the lower radiator pipe with your hand, it is important not to burn yourself, do not close the expansion tank cover;
- as air leaves the cooling system, the antifreeze will "fall through" in the tank, it must be added regularly. As soon as the bubbles stop appearing when the nozzle is pressed, when the stove is turned on, hot air begins to flow into the cabin.
Unfortunately, most owners of a VAZ 2110 car notice that the stove does not heat well, only in winter, at the moment it is turned on after a long idle time.

Secrets of using the heater
In order for the vaz 2110 stove to work as long as possible, you need to follow a few simple secrets:
- See how the rugs are positioned under your feet to see if they are blocking out the hot air. If the nozzles are blocked for any reason, then they must be raised.

Cold air
If the VAZ 2110 stove stops working and cold air is blowing out of it, then the breakdown may be in a faulty interior sensor on the ceiling. Now I will explain how it works. When the sensor is disconnected, the micromotor gearbox receives a signal that differs from the temperature in the stove. That is why the fan stops working in high-speed "A" mode. 
If the damper moves only at the extreme positions, given that the temperature sensor is disabled, there can be two reasons for the malfunction:
- Controller temperature sensor malfunction.
- Malfunction of the micromotor gearbox sensor.
The failure may have occurred due to the fan. It is installed on the temperature sensor. Check if it rotates in the "MIN" and "MAX" positions. To do this, simply apply 1.2 V to the terminals. How to check the controller? To do this, turn on the ignition. We rotate the temperature control knob and measure the voltage on the long connector. These will be pink and brown wires.
If your vehicle is fitted with a pre-2001 release controller, the voltage should drop after approximately 13 seconds. Maybe a little less or more. The decrease occurs in the min position. In the max position, voltage is applied continuously. If the controller is a new model, then after 13 seconds of operation in both modes, it simply turns off. If the voltage remains unchanged at the output, then this part is faulty.
Damper
The reason why the stove on a VAZ 2110 with an injector does not work may be a faulty damper. The heater has two dampers - upper and lower. The upper one controls the flow of cold air, and the lower one controls the hot air. This fault can be easily rectified. In old-style stoves, the shutter is made of plastic. It has foam seals. In new heaters, the dampers are metal and have rubber seals. 
If, when moving the damper, you hear a rumble, and cold air is blowing from the stove, then it is possible that the damper is broken or its drive has failed. If there are cracks or splits on the plastic shutter, then they can be glued together with dichloroethane. The metal shutter is difficult to break, but it can easily get jammed. It often gets stuck due to rust. If this was the problem, then I would advise you to paint it. This will fix the problem.

Of course, it could be electronics, but this is a very rare case. By the way, it is very important to understand how the stove works. It consists in the fact that you set the temperature, which, using a special sensor, is compared with the one that is now in the cabin. If the difference is significant, more than 2-3 degrees Celsius, then the geared motor controls the dampers by opening or closing them. If the temperature difference is more than 5 degrees, then the second fan speed is turned on, if less, then the first. Warm or cold air flows through the ducts. So it goes to the side front windows, windshield, legs and, directly, to passengers. A very common reason is when the VAZ-21103 stove does not warm the legs well, and the glass blows normally. How to remake a stove for a VAZ-2110?
If you are fundamentally not satisfied with the operation of the heater on your car, then you can easily alter it for yourself without any problems. If you are faced with the problem of insufficient airflow, fogging windows in rainy weather, then you need to take action. Firstly, you should make sure that the heater is in good working order and is working normally, if not, then it needs to be repaired and only then proceed to active actions. The main reason that little air enters the side windows is that most of the flow is lost in the gap. Accordingly, you need to disassemble the entire panel into parts and exclude air leakage with foam. This is quite simple to do. Sometimes it makes sense to lay a corrugation, but in practice this does not always work. At best, only the feet of the front passengers can be warmed there.
Pay attention to the fact that it is necessary to finalize the blowing of the rear passengers' legs. But before you remake the stove on the VAZ-2110, you need to take care of the driver's seat. Here you will be dealing with the so-called "herringbone". It is in this case that the use of corrugation is advisable. Firstly, it will give the desired effect, and secondly, it takes up much less space of the same "Christmas tree". It is desirable that the tube is no more than 40 millimeters in diameter, and with a large length it is smooth inside. Otherwise, while air passes through it, it may whistle, which is not very pleasant.
Refinement of the damper and airflow
Many drivers may have encountered such a problem that in severe frost it is not possible to adjust the uniform supply of warm air in all directions. So it turns out that the side windows are covered with ice, then the legs freeze. For example, if the VAZ-21103 stove does not heat well, then the point is obviously in the dampers. So, on vehicles that were released after 2003, there is no such problem, but on those that left the assembly line before, you will have to work with it. There is nothing complicated here, you will need to cut out the edges of the flap with a regular file on metal (you do not need to touch the windshield flap). You can also saw off a little from the flap that supplies air to the side windows. As a result, if you put the damper on your feet, then about 50% will go to the side windows, 25% to the legs, and another 25% to the windshield. If set in position on the windshield, it will only blow it.
Another reason why the VAZ-21103 stove does not heat well is that the airflow is insufficient. Let's finalize it. To do this, you will need anthers as well as a grill. Using an elastic band, we attach the grill to the boot, for which we use any suitable glue. On the reverse side, we fasten the boot with a clamp or a coupler and enjoy the result. Such a solution is not suitable for the driver's seat, as the right leg will be very hot, but for the passengers it is. Well, now let's go further, because we still have a lot to consider.
Possible causes of malfunction
Let's take a closer look at why the VAZ-2110 stove does not heat well. The reasons for this can be very diverse. One of the most common is that there is no coolant in it, or its amount has dropped below the "minimum" mark. To find out if this is so, you need to look into and check the level, add antifreeze or antifreeze if necessary. Another rather relevant reason may lie in the heater radiator itself. It breaks down quite often and stays cold when it should be hot. It is not uncommon for a gap to form in the radiator on the “top ten”. It is quite natural that with a crack or a hole in the case, it will not heat up.

Temperature sensor defective
Quite often, the following problem is encountered: you cannot correctly adjust the temperature in the cabin, since the sensor located near the lighting lamp is out of order or not calibrated. Most often, the problem lies in the failure of the control unit, as well as the incorrect position of the damper. Fortunately, all this is quite easy to solve, it only takes a little time and a tool. The first step is to diagnose the health of the temperature sensor. This can be done as follows: move the heating control knob in one direction and then in the opposite direction. In this case, the temperature of the air entering the passenger compartment must change.
If the temperature changes, but the VAZ-21102 stove still heats badly, then the problem is not in the controller. In the case when there are no changes, it makes sense to replace the sensor or just try to turn it off and check the heater's performance. If the controller is turned off, then the air will enter the cabin at the same temperature that was set on the electronic unit. In simple terms, this is how you can turn off the "A" mode on the fan. Well, now let's go ahead and consider a few more stove malfunctions on the "top ten".
The VAZ-2110 stove does not heat well at idle
If you notice that one "fine" morning with the engine warm and on, then you need to immediately take action. Most likely, it is a faulty thermostat or pump. In principle, the device of the stove is quite simple, and the essence is that the hot antifreeze gets into the radiator of the stove. Cold air is blown through the radiator by a fan, which heats up during this time and passes into the passenger compartment. If a not hot or even not warm flow enters the salon, then you need to look for a malfunction in some place. One of the main reasons can be a punctured head gasket. In this case, the system will be in an airy state. Pay attention immediately to the large cooling circle and the health of the thermostat.
But that's not the worst thing that can happen. The situation is much sadder when the VAZ-2110 stove (8 valves) does not heat well due to a failed pump. In this case, engine overheating may occur, since antifreeze does not circulate through the cooling system. If the stove works several times worse than before, check the pump. If the geared motor or heater breaks down

If the VAZ-2110 stove does not heat well, the thermostat and the pump have nothing to do with it, and there is no airlock, the air still blows cold or barely warm, then you will have to change the gear motor. It is more convenient to move the flap away from the side of the engine compartment. A large amount of scale, as well as mechanical damage (crack, hole, etc.), indicates that replacement will be needed. Remember that if the VAZ-2110 stove does not heat well (injector, 8 valves) and the matter is in the radiator, then you will need to completely disassemble the stove in order to replace it. Sometimes the air heats up very slowly, which clearly does not cause delight, especially in severe frosts. In addition, it also happens that the quality of the warm flow is not very satisfying.
