Two new displays

The center console houses the most interesting change - two 10-inch Touch Pro Duo displays with a chic design. The first received reduced frames and chrome edging. This display is responsible for the entertainment and navigation systems, it is tilted under the profile of the dashboard and, when turned on, changes the angle so that the driver does not rise and clearly reads information from it. At the transition to the tunnel, the leather sheathing ends and the glossy one begins. Immediately we see the second 10-inch display, under it touch buttons and two washers with displays recessed inside. The glossy plastic gives the impression that the washers are integrated into the monitor, and the buttons in the center are imitated by the display - very cool and beautiful.


On the Tunnel of the Range Rover Evoque you will find the gear selector in the center and a niche with cup holders, the lid of which is an excellent shelf. The gear lever is located on an insert made of ash, gray or natural, can be replaced with bright or dark aluminum. The same inserts are found on the dashboard and door cards. In the hands of the pilot falls a 4-spoke steering wheel, trimmed with a choice of leather, fabric, Alcantara, detailed with chrome - whatever. In the base, it will be regulated only mechanically and there will always be touch buttons on it. The buttons are located as usual for the owners of the previous generation, but making them touch-sensitive is bad in terms of convenience.


The instrument panel is fitted as standard with two large analog gauges and a vertical information display in the center. Music

Diesel TD4:

  1. The first 2-liter diesel engine is the only one that can be taken with front-wheel drive and 6-speed mechanics. Its power is equal to 150 forces and 380 units of moment. In terms of speed, everything is bad - 10.5 seconds to hundreds and 201 km / h maximum. But the consumption of diesel fuel in only 6.3 liters in the city will delight;
  2. The 180 hp diesel model with 430 H * m of torque will reduce the Range Rover Evoque's acceleration by just over a second and increase the top speed by 3 km / h. Passport consumption will increase by a maximum of half a liter;
  3. Top diesel with 240 forces and 500 units of torque. With it, the new crossover will overcome a hundred in 7.7 seconds, and the maximum will reach 225 km / h. Consumption in the city will be 7.3 liters, on the highway - 5.5 liters.

The 9-speed automatic transmission with adaptation to the driving style also acts as a pair. The torque is transmitted to all wheels, except for the base diesel engine. The moment is distributed automatically not along the axles, but along the wheels to improve steering and starting from a standstill.

Suspension and off-road

The new platform for the car implies on the front axle and a multi-link at the rear. Optionally, the manufacturer puts adaptive dampers Adaptive Dynamics7 with variable stiffness - something that can be adjusted in the cabin.

The system is too overloaded with information content and a lot of functions that are completely unnecessary in normal city mode, because, despite the excellent off-road characteristics, hardly anyone will actively use a car worth $ 50,000 to “kill” it off-road.

There are no other outstanding changes to the cabin. Despite the impressive external dimensions, the Range Rover Evoque remains a compact crossover with a small interior size inside.

There are no complaints about the finishing materials - well-made leather and high-quality glossy plastic, inserts of polished aluminum and rare woods in the top-end Prestige configuration - all this suggests that the crossover belongs to the premium segment.

But the two-tone finishes and the ability to optionally choose a color for many interior elements hint at the "feminine" character of Ewok. By the way, according to experts, the seats in the salon are also more ladies' ones - a large man will be uncomfortable in them because of their relatively small dimensions. If the changes in the interior and exterior are minor, then the main highlight of the Range Rover Ewok, which is called Ingenium, is hidden inside. Naturally, all this does not mean that you need to boldly go hunting in the taiga or mountains - but if you encounter serious impassability, then it will not be a problem to overcome it. What can not be said about competitors - the same Porsche Macan or BMW X4 are clean SUVs and, at best, are able to overcome a light dirt road or a bumpy country road. If you go a little further, you will have to call for help, since their element is the track. But the Range Rover Ewok can be used both on the track and in the wilderness - however, if you operate it only in impassable mud, then it is better (and cheaper) to buy something more budgetary.

As for the price, the numbers are likely to fully justify the concept of "premium crossover", without any discounts on the "compact". It is too early to judge this, since the cost of the car has not yet been officially announced. But this figure is unlikely to be less than $ 50,000 for the basic configuration and about $ 70,000 for the top one.

The next difference to the Range Rover Velar trim levels after the grille is the front bumper. In the usual configuration, the bumper will be curved in width, without additional aerodynamic openings. The lower part of the bumper of the usual Velar is decorated with a small additional grille for the engine airflow, the entire bumper from below is emphasized by a black plastic splitter, which also serves as an additional engine protection.
