DIY disc brake wall clock. Motorcycle Brake Disc Clock How to Make a Garage Brake Disc Clock

Our section useful homemade products for the home was replenished with a new master class on making wall clocks from disc brake do it yourself.

Hello! It so happened that the car service pleased me with a free disc brake, which has become obsolete. The idea was in my head for a long time and, finally, materialized. The topic of this story is from the disc brake. I got the brake disc from one of the domestic ones, which is almost irrelevant. It's just that on foreign cars they are often larger and prettier)).

There are many variants of such clocks on the network, so I turned my idea 180 degrees. The dial is not on the "convex side", but vice versa. So, all the points. First things first, good washing, cleaning and grinding of the disc. Next, I welded an eyelet to the disk for hanging on the wall.

After that, painting. I painted from a spray can and chose a blue color.

There are 6 holes on the display. 4 for the landing bolts on the hub, but we need the remaining two. There I screwed in 2 M8 countersunk head bolts.

On the back side of the disc, they turned out to be flush with the plane, which does not threaten the wallpaper with scratching.
The clockwork was bought separately along with the hands. It is glued to the clutch basket element with silicone sealant. You can also use glue. This element itself is painted silver.

Two neodymium magnets are attached to match the protruding bolts on the brake disc.

They allow, without completely removing the watch, it is easy to remove this part for replacement. They keep the beckons above all praise and, by the way, do not affect the accuracy of the watch, it's checked! Now it remains to deal with numbers. I bought it for 67 rubles. a set of wooden numbers, painted them the same color as the watch, and put them on superglue. I refused metal numbers due to their high cost compared to wood, moreover, after painting they will look the same. Putting it all together, insert the battery. That's it, the clock is ready!
You can hang on the wall, relax with and enjoy the dimensional movement of the clock made!))
