It is worth buying a Nissan X Trail. Choosing a used "second" X-Trail

Consider how four-wheel drive works on the Nissan X-Trail. Regarding the Nissan X-Trail, the opinions of motorists are divided into 2 irreconcilable camps.

Some drivers consider the Nissan X-Trail a cool SUV, in which you can storm the endless open spaces of the off-road, taking your family with you and stuffing a voluminous trunk with means for extreme survival. Others consider the Nissan X-Trail to be a gentle and capricious vehicle that can be used with caution on city roads. Truth, as usual, is in the middle. Primer. Creek. Nissan X-Trail.

The all-wheel drive Nissan X-Trail differs from the all-wheel drive of a real SUV, such as the Patriot, and is connected only in difficult situations when the traction of the two front drive wheels is insufficient.

This mode allows you to save fuel, which is significant with a significant weight and dimensions of the car, and prevents premature suspension wear.

The main road characteristics of the all-wheel drive

The Nissan X-Trail is not an SUV. This is a good car for city and country trips, car tourism, family trips. The high ground clearance of the Nissan X-Trail, the spacious interior and the spacious trunk provide excellent cross-country ability and a high level of comfort.

Nissan X-Trail dashboard

At a cost, Nissan X-Trail is cheaper than cars of similar functions and economical solutions in the field of competent connection of all-wheel drive as needed, provide interest to buyers. The Nissan X-Trail is one of the most sought after vehicles in the primary and aftermarket and successfully leads the crossover.

The car perfectly holds the track of any quality, is able to overcome obstacles, connecting the rear-wheel drive, excellently holds on an icy and slippery track, steadily holds diagonal loads. On the obstacle course, the X-Trail will easily bypass any city car, including its younger brother Nissan Qashqai. But at the famous Paris - Dakar rally, the X-Trail is unlikely to go more than 10 km.

Main drive modes Nissan X-Trail

The ALL MODE 4 × 4-i system is responsible for connecting the all-wheel drive Nissan X-Trail. Automatic switching, blocking, torque distribution is ensured precisely with this control option. The choice of the mode is carried out by a selector located on the central tunnel.

Such a system has both pluses, in ease of control, and minuses, since the decisions made by the driver are not always accepted for execution by the automation. In most cases this is a plus, but in extreme situations, options are possible. The automatic decision is not always the right one. The settings are designed to protect vehicle systems from premature wear from improper driving.

The selector for switching modes of the friction clutch ALL MODE 4 × 4-i Nissan X-Trail

The Nissan X-Trail all-wheel drive system can be connected in both manual and automatic modes. It depends on the position of the transmission selector.

2WD

Front-wheel drive mode with automatic all-wheel drive. The 2WD position enables front-wheel drive with optional rear axle connection.

Nissan X-Trail T32 on the highway

Mode for a good track, no surprises. The front wheels drive, the rear wheels engage in the event of a slip. The reaction speed of the clutch, through which the rear axle is connected, as a leading one, is quite good: 2-3 seconds, and the car becomes all-wheel drive. The number of revolutions of the front axle is also automatically controlled. In this mode, when the rear axle is automatically connected through the clutch, the all-wheel drive indicator on the dashboard does not light up. In test tests, prolonged use of this mode can lead to overheating of the transmission in 5-10 minutes. The transmission malfunction indicator lights up and then you just have to wait until the system is ready to work.

AUTO position

Nissan X-Trail through the puddles

The mode recommended by the manufacturer for slippery and wet roads. In this mode, the clutch responds with lightning speed to the difference in angular speeds of the front and rear axles, connecting the rear axle to overcome skids for a programmed period of time. Rear axle connection speed in this mode is 0.1 sec. Those. if slipping continues, the clutch closes again, engaging reverse gear.

The peculiarity of the AUTO mode is that the system responds faster to speed differences and engages reverse gear before the front wheels begin to slip. On ice, this mode minimizes drifts.

4WD LOCK mode

Overcoming the rise diagonally

All-wheel drive Nissan Ikstrail in LOCK mode gives increased load on the clutch and transmission. It is not recommended to exceed the speed threshold of 10 km / h in this mode.

Stop the car to activate the LOCK off-road mode. This is necessary for optimal engagement of the shift clutch capabilities and maximum retention. When slowing down on a difficult road, if there is a need to connect 4WD LOCK, you can not stop the car completely at the risk of getting stuck. It is enough to make sure that the axes are straight and straight.

LOCK is an all-wheel drive mode recommended for exceptional cases and very slippery roads. All wheels become leading in this mode. Load sharing with Active Torque Control is 57:43.

Automatic mode switching

The disadvantage of the LOCK mode is that the system can switch to other modes without manual switching. So, for example, when the speed is increased in LOCK mode, the autoshift clutch opens and goes into AUTO mode. At the same time, the indicator on the dashboard continues to light up that the X-Trail four-wheel drive is operating in the most secure LOCK mode. Switching occurs when 2 speed thresholds are exceeded, 10 km / h and 30 km / h.

When the rear axle is overloaded and the discs are turning, the electronics automatically opens the clutch in order to avoid the destruction of the car. Front-wheel drive engages.

Practice shows that to overcome obstacles, sometimes you need a slow and powerful mode with maximum load on all vehicle systems.

Test with two roller platforms

All-wheel drive Nissan Ikstrail connects rear-wheel drive in any of the above modes. For this reason, safety precautions categorically prohibit putting a car with the engine turned on on stands with the wheels of only one axle spinning or towing a car with partial loading, leaving the front or rear wheels on the road. Balancing stands must be selected with the possibility of full loading.

All-wheel drive problems

Nissan X-Trail on a mountain serpentine

The tasks of the all-wheel drive Nissan X-Trail are not to increase the endurance and cross-country ability of the vehicle in off-road conditions, but to increase traffic safety, improve grip on difficult tracks, the ability to comfortably pass difficult sections and obstacles due to the high lift of the car and a powerful connected rear shaft. In tests with roller platforms, the Nissan X-Trail showed excellent results and instant rear-wheel drive connection in various modes, as well as equalization of rpm during diagonal tests.

Test with three roller platforms

But when connecting 3 skates with 1 free rear wheel, the test results were not very successful. In nature, not on roller skates, the car will start to slip and bury itself in loose soil.

Automation problems

Controlling automatic systems ABS, ATC, TOD have full control over the connection of all-wheel drive modes. Accordingly, in the event of malfunctions in the systems, the driver's control over the rear axle connection and the mode selection may be lost.

Conclusion

The Nissan X-Trail is a great road car with modes that improve road safety. The functions of an all-terrain vehicle for this car are not and are not expected.

Nissan X-Trail on a forest road

In fact, it is strange to demand from wheeled vehicles the cross-country ability of an amphibious all-terrain vehicle. The car perfectly holds ice, wet asphalt, poor quality track, runs over obstacles, does not fly on hills and gently descends along sandy slopes. All this - with ensuring the safety of passengers and children in the cabin and without losing comfort.

Nissan X-Trail in the Mud

28.07.2016

Nissan X-Trail T31 (Nissan X-Trail) - the second generation of the compact crossover, produced by the Japanese corporation Nissan Motor. After the appearance of this model on sale, Nissan's business went uphill, since at that time few manufacturers could offer a lot of a car for reasonable money. Another advantage of the X-Trail over its competitors was the practicality of the car and good off-road makings - four-wheel drive, impressive ground clearance (20 cm), protective plastic linings on the wheel arches and sills. However, like most cars, the Nissan X-Trail 2 has not only advantages, but also a number of disadvantages, but what they are now we will try to figure it out.

A bit of history:

The debut of the Nissan X-Trail (T30) took place in 2000 at an auto show in Paris, in the same year serial production and the start of sales of the new model in the domestic market of Japan. A year later, they began to export cars to Europe and other countries. Oddly enough, this generation of the model was never officially sold in the United States. The novelty was based on the Nissan FF-S platform, which was originally used on the Nissan Example and Almera sedans. The design of the novelty was borrowed from the popular at that time Nissan Patrol SUV. Thanks to its practicality and unpretentiousness, the X-Trail is one of the most successful models ever created by Nissan, and one of the bestsellers of that time in its class.

In 2003, the car underwent a restyling, during which the front and rear bumpers and the dashboard were changed. The modernization also affected the engine control units, automatic transmission, ABS and the catalyst (became metal). At the same time, exclusive versions of the Rider and AXIS cars appeared on sale, which differed from the usual X-Trails in other bumpers, a radiator grille, rims and improved interior trim. Production of the Nissan X-Trail (T30) in most countries was discontinued in 2007, and only in Taiwan the model was produced until 2009.

The Nissan X-Trail (T31) debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in early 2007, and at the end of the same year the official sales were announced on the European market. Unlike the previous version, this generation of cars was built on the Nissan C platform, borrowed from the platform that debuted a year earlier. In addition to the platform, the novelty acquired a modified exterior and interior design, and the technical equipment of the model was also improved. At the same time, Nissan began construction of a plant near St. Petersburg, and two years later the first Nissan X-Trail assembled in Russia came off the assembly line. In 2010, the model was modernized, during which the exterior of the car was slightly changed. The changes affected the radiator grille, bumper, front and rear optics and wheel rims. The quality of the interior materials has also been improved. The production of this generation was discontinued in 2014.

The presentation of the third generation Nissan X-Trail concept car, named Hi-Cross, took place in 2012 at the Geneva auto show. A year later, the serial version of the car was also officially presented. The novelty is based on the new modular platform CMF, which has become common for most crossovers of the Renault-Nissan alliance. Externally, the novelty is radically different from its predecessor, since the concept of a "brutal" SUV with angular body lines has been replaced by a more "progressive" urban style, in which most modern crossovers are made. Despite this, the company's engineers decided not to completely abandon the former angularity and "cut" in some lines. Also, during the change of generations, the interior design has undergone significant changes. In 2017, the model underwent an upgrade, after which the car received an appearance similar to the updated Nissan Qashqai.

Weaknesses Nissan X-Trail 2 (T31) with mileage

Despite the fact that this model was positioned by the manufacturer as a brutal men's car, its paintwork is very delicate, which is why it quickly becomes overgrown with all kinds of scratches and chips. It painfully endures exploitation in our realities and chromium - becomes cloudy and swells after 3-4 winters. As for the protection of the body from corrosion, it is satisfactory, thanks to which the metal resists the onslaught of redhead disease quite well. However, there are still a couple of weak points. Rust is the fastest to attack open areas of metal. If the chips are not tinted in a timely manner, the appearance of saffron milk caps in these places is inevitable. In specimens operated in metropolitan areas, rust can also be found in hidden parts of the body under the influence of reagents - at the welding seams at the ends of the doors, in the corners of the additional brake light, in the drainage holes, on the thresholds at the points of contact with the door seals.

The trunk lid also resists the onslaught of the redhead disease rather badly - most quickly the metal begins to bloom in the area of \u200b\u200bthe license plate and around the glass seal. Another disadvantage of the fifth door can be noted weak gas stops, which, with the arrival of cold weather, do not always cope with its weight (the problem is solved by installing reinforced stops). The owners of the Nissan X-Trail (T31) also blame the poor quality of the original windshield (poorly resistant to mechanical stress). Often, while driving in the front of the car, you can hear a creak, these sounds are emitted by an aerodynamic pad under the windshield. To eliminate the defect, the patch can be placed on a sealant or an additional seal can be glued. On many copies, over time, problems appeared in the operation of the windshield wipers (tinder badly). Reason: the bushing of the trapezoid of the wipers bursts (wears out). Treatment: replacement of the sleeve, if it is intact, it will be enough to place a washer of the required diameter under it.

Due to the unsuccessful geometry of the body, while driving off-road, the rear bumper often suffers, the replacement of which will significantly hit the pocket (about $ 150). Door handles can also bring unpleasant surprises - due to weak fastening, cables fly off. Most often, the problem occurs in the winter on restyled copies. A special feature of the trunk is an organizer hidden under the main floor, in which you can hide a brazier, fishing rods and other necessary things. The disadvantage of this floor is that if you need a spare tire, you have to work hard to disassemble this organizer.

Power units

The Nissan X-Trail (T31) powertrain lineup includes two gasoline atmospheric “fours” with a volume of 2.0 (MR20DE 140 hp) and 2.5 liters (QR25DE 169 hp), and a two-liter turbodiesel of varying degrees of boost (M9R 150 and 173 hp). The main problem of gasoline engines is an increased oil appetite (more than 0.5 liters per 1000 km of run). Consumption in excess of 1 liter per 1000 km, as a rule, is the result of piston rings (this nuisance appears on a mileage of over 150,000 km). The repair costs almost 500 USD. - replacement of rings and valve stem seals. Also, the timing chain (stretching closer to 150,000 km), the fuel level sensor (there are two of them - one on the fuel pump, the second is installed separately) and ignition coils are not famous for their reliability. The disadvantages include a rather high fuel consumption. When installing LPG equipment, it is necessary to adapt the motor to work on gas - increasing the thermal clearances of the valves and installing other glasses. If this is not done, after a small mileage, the valve seats and the valves themselves will burn out.

The weakest unit is prone to overheating, so it is necessary to clean the cooling radiator at least once a year. Important: overheating often causes warping of the mating surfaces of the cylinder block and head. It is also worth noting the unreliability of the thermistor, which is built into the mass air flow sensor. In the event of a sensor malfunction, incorrect data is transmitted to the engine control unit (most often overestimated by 50%), due to which it limits the fuel supply, which leads to a significant decrease in traction. When replacing spark plugs, it is advisable to use a torque wrench, since due to the thinness of the partition that separates the spark plug wells from the cooling jacket, there is a high probability of cracking (recommended tightening torque 15-20 Nm). A fairly common ailment is oil leakage through the oil pan seal and antifreeze through all possible and impossible channels. Other common troubles include an unstable idle (solved by cleaning the throttle valve), a small resource of the rear support, increased noise (valve adjustment is required) and the whistle of the alternator belt.

In a 2.5-liter engine, the phase regulator, oil pump and thermostat are not reliable. Quite often, due to the loss of tightness (oil leaks appear), it is necessary to change the valve cover gasket. If the injectors are not periodically cleaned and the throttle, over time, the engine will start to work unstable (troit, speed floats). Another problem with this unit is unsuccessful software, because of this, the motor can vibrate strongly. The trouble is solved by flashing the ECU. It is worth noting that this engine is afraid of low temperatures and is capricious in severe frosts (over -20). In addition, driving on a cold engine in severe frost leads to accelerated wear of the catalyst with the ingress of degradation products (ceramic dust) into the cylinders. The reason is that fuel is overflowing, which burns out in the catalyst.

Diesel

A diesel unit is the most interesting option for purchasing due to its reliability, economy and excellent dynamic characteristics, but, unfortunately, in the secondary market, a Nissan X-Trail with such an engine is a rarity. Of the weak points of the unit, one can single out the unreliability of the timing chain (it stretches on a run of 120-150 thousand km). When using low-quality diesel fuel, the piezo injectors of the Bosch fuel system are quickly surrendered (often wedges, the return valve is periodically clogged, it is worth noting that changing them is quite problematic), injection pump, EGR valve (cleaning helps to bring back to life) and DPF filter. Of the less common troubles, one can single out such a problem as the cranking of the crankshaft liners, caused by a decrease in the performance of the oil pump (clogged with sludge). The turbine serves more than 300 thousand km. With timely maintenance (oil change every 7-10 thousand km), the engine resource will exceed 350,000 km.

Transmission

For Nissan X-Trail (T31) three types of gearboxes were available: 6-speed mechanics and "automatic", and a variator. Most often in the secondary market there are cars with a Jatco JF011E / RE0F10A variator. This transmission works without any particular complaints about 200,000 km, but only on condition of timely maintenance (replacement of the working fluid Nissan CVT Fluid NS-2 every 50-60 thousand km) and careful operation. It is necessary to avoid frequent slippage, sudden starts at traffic lights, prolonged movement at high speed, and it is also not recommended to tow a heavy trailer. If you pull to change the oil, wear debris will seize the oil pump pressure relief valve over time. This nuisance entails oil starvation and accelerated wear of the unit.

Of the weak points of the variator, it is possible to note the bearings of the drive and driven shafts, which can hum on a run of 120-150 thousand km. On the same run, there are problems with the drive belt (replacement costs $ 150-200). If the belt is not replaced in a timely manner, you will have to fork out for tapered pulleys in the future. Before buying, be sure to check the variator in operation, it is important that during acceleration there are no twitching and inhibited reaction to pressing the gas pedal, since these are the first signs of the imminent death of the transmission.

The mechanics have also proven themselves quite reliable. The only thing that has to be done periodically here is to change the clutch and release bearing - on average, once every 150,000 km. Often, the dual-mass flywheel has to be replaced at the same time as the clutch. On some copies released after 2010, over time, there were problems with the driven disc (factory defect), because of this, the clutch needed to be replaced after 50,000 km. Nothing bad can be said about the Jatco JF613E automatic transmission, with regular oil change (every 60,000 km) and careful operation, this transmission can do without repairs up to 250-300 thousand km.

Four-wheel drive

The reliability of the All Mode 4 × 4 all-wheel drive transmission largely depends on the quality of service and the operating conditions of the car. If the owner understands that the Nissan X-Trail (T31) is a crossover, not an SUV, you can not worry about the reliability of the all-wheel drive, but if the car is regularly dipped in mud, you need to be prepared for expensive repairs. So, for example, replacing the rear axle coupling will cost about $ 700. Also, the driveshaft crosses are considered quite vulnerable. If they are broken, the movement of the car will be accompanied by hum, knocking and vibration. It is better to change the crosses in a specialized service, since after carrying out the work, it is necessary to balance the shaft, and this can not be done qualitatively everywhere. The bearing of the front intermediate drive shaft can also buzz quite early.

Reliability of suspension, steering and brakes Nissan X-Trail (T31)

On both axles, the second-generation Nissan X-Trail has an independent suspension with anti-roll bars: MacPherson strut front, multi-link rear. The chassis is quite soft and has good energy consumption, making it comfortable to travel by car not only on the highway, but also far beyond its borders. But as is often the case, you have to pay for comfort with not the best handling - when driving over bumps at high speed, the car shakes strongly, and unpleasant body rolls occur in corners.

The weak point of the front suspension is the thrust bearings, on average, their resource is 60-80 thousand km, on the pre-styling Nissan X-Trail, bearings often wore out without serving even 30,000 km. The struts and bushings of stabilizers can last up to 40-60 thousand km (to replace the latter, you will have to lower the subframe). Hub bearings, ball bearings and subframe silent blocks serve 90-120 thousand km. The front shock absorbers can withstand about the same, the rear ones can last up to 150,000 km. When replacing, you can use shock absorbers from Renault Koleos as analogues (they are cheaper). Levers of the rear suspension with careful operation nurture 150-200 thousand km.

The steering system uses an electric power steering rack. As operating experience has shown, the rail is quite reliable - the resource is about 150,000 km. But the steering shaft cardan shafts can begin to bother with extraneous sounds (creaking, knocking), without having served even 100,000 km. To temporarily solve the trouble, silicone grease or the installation of clamps helps, but in the future, nevertheless, you will have to change the shaft. The braking system is also reliable, however, on cars whose owners like to conquer all kinds of fords, the ABS unit fails quite early.

A lot of hard plastic is used in the Nissan X-Trail (T31), because of this, over the years, the interior is filled with all sorts of sounds (creaking, knocking, etc.). Also, extraneous sounds can come from the 5th door. The disadvantages include poor sound insulation. The weak point of the electrical equipment of the cabin is the heating system, for example, the motor needs to be replaced after 3 years of operation, and closer to 150,000 km you need to be ready to replace the air conditioning compressor. A fairly common problem is the rubbing of the control wires and loops located on the steering wheel, the breakdown of controllers and buttons. Over time, the amplifier located at the base of the antenna oxidizes, which deteriorates the reception of radio stations.

Outcome:

Nissan X-Trail (T31) is a real bestseller among SUVs in the secondary market, as for relatively little money the buyer gets a comfortable and fairly reliable car with good off-road makings. Of course, this is not a full-fledged SUV, but when compared with competitors, this model has the best cross-country ability. X-Trail can be safely recommended to family car enthusiasts, lovers of picnics outside the city, summer residents, hunters, fishermen and other outdoor enthusiasts. The best option for buying is a diesel car with a classic automatic transmission, but, unfortunately, such cars are very rare for our market.

If you are or were the owner of this car brand, please share your experience, indicating the strengths and weaknesses of the car. Perhaps your feedback will help others to choose a used car.

Good afternoon. In today's article we will talk about the weak points of the Nissan X-Trail of various modifications. Traditionally for our site, the article will contain a lot of photos and videos.

Model history.

Nissan x-treil has been produced since 2001 by Nissan in Japan, Canada, Russia and the UK. During the release, the car changed 3 generations, each of which differed in platform, and went through several small restyling. Since platforms are different, each generation will have their own weak points, and we will consider them separately.

Separately, I would like to emphasize that Nissan X-trail, of any generation, is not an SUV, it is an ordinary parquet flooring and its place on the asphalt!

The main drive for this machine is front, the four-wheel drive is connected automatically when one of the wheels slip and, by and large, is a driver assistance system. T.N. rigid inter-axle differential lock, connects the rear axle with a multi-plate friction clutch, and operates at speeds up to 30 km / h, and then the system switches to automatic mode.

In general, the car outperforms Subaru Forester, Toyota RAV4, Honda SRV in cross-country ability, but hopelessly lags behind Land Rover Freedlander and (the point is in the lowering row in the transmission).

The first generation Nissan X-Trail (Nissan X-Trail T30).

The first generation of the car is based on the modernized Nissan FF-S platform, previously Nissan Almeria and Nissan Primera cars were produced on this platform. Produced from 2002 to 2007. A distinctive feature of the car is the inconvenient arrangement of instruments (in the center of the panel).

X-Trail T30 meets with 2.0 liter gasoline engines. (140 hp), and 2.5 liters. (165 hp), as well as with a 2.2 liter diesel engine. (114 hp)

If you come across an export X-Trail from Japan, it's a little more interesting - the 2.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine develops 150 hp. 150 h.p. and 280 hp. with turbocharging.

In 2003, the first generation was restyled, while the bumpers, interior trim were changed, and engine power slightly increased.

In the case of Russia, the optimal choice of a mechanic car with a 2.5-liter engine. Its fuel consumption is practically the same as in version 2.0 (and in the urban cycle it will often be lower), and the transport tax remains at an acceptable level. Spare parts are also common.

Diesel is more economical than gasoline versions, but it has problems with maintenance, there are few diesel specialists.

The advantages and disadvantages of the 2018-2019 Nissan X-Trail in a new body are revealed based on feedback from real owners. More detailed pros and cons of Nissan X-Trail 2.0 and 2.5 with mechanics, automatic transmission and CVT, as well as 1.6 diesel with front and all-wheel drive 4x4 can be found in the stories below.

Owner reviews

The main drawback compared to the T-31 is the "dirty" car! Open thresholds collect all the dirt on themselves and it is impossible to get in or out of the car without dirtying the trousers.

The entire rear of the car instantly becomes dusty (or dirty). Because of this, despite the automatic washer, the rear view camera becomes useless and, accordingly, the blind spot monitoring function tied to this camera.

The second drawback is the stiffer suspension. She is flawless on the track, at speed. But on the "washboard" of the rural road pretty shakes out the soul.

The window regulator buttons on the door are not illuminated, the button for folding the mirrors is small, the seat heating keys are located inconveniently. In addition, the heated rear seats have disappeared, which is not superfluous with a leather interior.

LED Bi-Led optics are beyond praise. Royal spaciousness in the rear seats, excellent handling, good insulation. The electric drive of the 5th door with a contactless touch sensor is very convenient. Blind spot control, lane control - the electronics are good and work very well.

In general, if you live in a city, then the new X-Trail T32 has practically no drawbacks and is the best crossover in the category up to 1.7 million. But for the residents of rural areas (which I am) I probably would not recommend it.

Video review

An electric handbrake - in a traffic jam, at a traffic light or on the rise, you turn it on and that's it - your leg is free. It is necessary to continue driving, added momentum and drove off, he passed out. All-round visibility - in cramped conditions an irreplaceable thing and you see everything around. LED headlights - the beam is very good.

LED headlights (low beam) - the roadside is illuminated normally, but the roadway is annoying. The fact is that at the end of the illumination zone there is a too sharp transition to a dark contour. If there are interference in this area, then they may not be seen at the time.

Vyacheslav Golovtsov, drives the Nissan X-Trail 2.5 (171 hp) automatic in 2015

Expected more from the new Nissan X-Trail T32. Noise isolation is disgusting, you have to make the music louder so as not to hear the noise of the wheels (not spikes) and the engine.

The suspension is also very stiff. In general, a trinket. The front bumper could be made with a bevel, increase the clearance, and then look for something to catch. In general, the car is not for our roads. I do not advise.

Plus the uncomfortable door handle from the car. When you open the door, there is nothing to hold it for. In the front, they could have made a normal hole for towing, and not screw in the pin (the latch has already dropped out somewhere).

Andrey Malyshev, drives a Nissan X-Trail 2.0 (144 hp) AT 2015

Where could I buy?

Correspondence of price and quality. I was pleasantly surprised by the variator. Acceleration is dynamic, greyhound, no jerks, easy starts, picks up speed, no problems with overtaking, you need a shot, please.

There were no problems with the handbrake (as many wrote), pulled up - parking, lowered down - let's go. Cool - electric heated front glass, very fast!

In the field: paws work perfectly in wet snow 30 cm + ice from below, trot like a saiga, powerful, fairly stable, 190 km / h keeps the norms on the track, climbs perfectly along the track.

Elena Mirgorodskaya, drives the Nissan X-Trail 2.5 (171 hp) on a 2015 automatic.

I expected more, I don't really like the variator: it is convenient, but some kind of sluggish acceleration. But the seats are very comfortable, I like the adjustment of the rear seats: both longitudinally and tilt. There is a lot of space in the cabin, but the trunk for such a car is too small, everything is eaten by the spare wheel.

Noise isolation is average, the car was quieter on a test drive. The suspension is stiff, you will feel all the little things, you have not experienced it on the road, but the ground clearance pleases.
After running in (now the mileage is 6,000 km), fuel consumption decreased: city - 10.4, highway - 7, well, and began to frolic.

Alexey Sporov, drives a Nissan X-Trail 2.0 (144 hp) AT 2015

The car is comfortable and modern. It's worth its money. An excellent option for the city. Of the advantages, I note the ease of management and low gas consumption. The car is warm, comfortable climate control.

Among the disadvantages is a low bumper. Off-road is inconvenient. Driving through the holes is often catchy. The front is very afraid of pits. At speed, the front end just crashes like a wall. The plastic creaks in the cabin, very unpleasant. Accelerating up to 120 km / h, the car starts to wag, becomes unstable.

Review of Nissan X-Trail 2.0 on the machine 2016

In June 2017, I bought it for 1,770,000 rubles (SE + grade). At the beginning of July, when the mileage was 600 km, a cricket appeared in the trunk, not even a cricket, but a real creak. I came to the "officials", told about the problem, and they say that there is no specialist in squeaks, and in general the case is not guaranteed, they say you will come when the specialist arrives.

After 2 weeks, when their specialist came out, I arrived. The creak was eliminated in 2 hours, explaining that the car did not undergo pre-sale preparation, and now everything was lubricated, tightened and everything is fine.

Everything was fine ... for a while. After the first trip to nature (the luggage compartment was not even loaded to capacity), the sound of beating plastic was added to the creak, all in the same luggage compartment.

Review of Nissan X-Trail 2.0 with all-wheel drive and CVT 2016

Invincible cars do not exist, no matter what advertising inspires us. Each mechanism has problems and disadvantages, specific "sores". A car is a collection of a huge number of mechanisms and everything that turns, rubs, switches, rotates, comes into contact with the external environment - is subject to deformation and potentially vulnerable. The Nissan X-Trail is no exception. For the sake of fairness, we note that Lexus, Porsches, Mercedes are no less vulnerable and have their own disadvantages, pros and cons.

Until 2009, all Nissan were imported from Japan. After the opening of an assembly plant at a plant in Shushary near St. Petersburg, the flow of imported vehicles in the European part of Russia dropped sharply, and supplies of locally assembled Nissan appeared. Deliveries from Japan are relevant for Siberia and the Far East, there are often even right-hand drive versions.

Versions and improvements

When buying a used car, especially one as not cheap as the Nissan X-Trail, you need to understand that many components are worn out, and no one will replace expensive parts beyond the necessary pre-sale preparation. Consider the Nissan Ixtrail pros and cons in order to navigate the secondary market.

Weaknesses of the Nissan X-Trail were consistently worked out by designers, engineers and designers. The disadvantages of previous versions are eliminated quite quickly. Only a car completely cast from titanium and launched into orbit outside the atmosphere can be invulnerable.

Ikstrail has an incredible amount of improvements and restyling. Cars Nissan X-Trail T30: 2001, 2003; : 2007, 2010; : 2015 - differ from each other quite significantly. The car of the first wave was progressive for its class, but the interior trim from the inside was frankly simple. Restyling 2003 was carried out according to the requirements of consumers, for whom a line of wishes was specially opened. In 2007, the shortcomings of control systems were eliminated, variators, interior, trunk were improved.

The most popular on the secondary market was the 2007 version,. This is due to the relatively low price and the presence of major technical innovations. Also everything that could break is already broken and replaced, accordingly, with a skillful choice and a certain amount of luck, you will not have to invest in expensive repairs immediately after purchasing a car.

Modern shortcomings and shortcomings of the Nissan X-Trail T31 according to car owners:

Washer fluid reservoir - a simple plastic container with tubes

1 No washer reservoir level indicator

It is possible to understand that the liquid has run out only by the absence of splashing on the glass ... And this can lead to the fact that the pump that pumps the washer will deteriorate - it is not intended to work "dry".

2 Unreliable fuel level sensor

Ixtrail has two of them. One on the fuel pump, the other separately. Usually the “separate” sensor is to blame. Constant contact with our "quality" fuel oxidizes contacts with all that it implies. Can be cleaned with a simple "cotton swab + solvent" set.

Illumination of buttons on the driver's door in the dark

3 The buttons on the driver's door are not illuminated properly

In particular, power windows are not illuminated. It would be possible to make the backlight not side, but "from the inside" ...

Nissan X-Trail tailgate cover

4 Inconvenient trunk curtain

Class "tablecloth". Something more practical could be done.

Gas stop of the fifth door Nissan X-Trail

5 Weak stops of the fifth door

Nissan X-Trail gas stops do not always cope with a heavy fifth door. This is especially noticeable in cold weather and frost.

Operational problems

Relatively serious problems for the Nissan X-Trail begin after a year of driving. Rust appears on the 5th door, which was famously slammed several times. There may be problems with the paintwork on the roof, especially if you had a chance to travel through the bushes and did not notice the small scratches that appeared. Problems associated with insufficiently accurate handling, testing of extreme modes of the car, testing of capabilities come out.

Wiring Problems and Loop Abrasion

It is quite obvious from operating practice that all moving parts are subject to increased wear. As for the wires and loops laid in the moving mechanisms, they also wear out, wear out, the insulation deteriorates, the wiring closes, the wires break and fray, the microcircuits fail.

Traditional problems of cars with electronics; this is abrasion of control wires, loops, breakdown of controllers and buttons. What can I say, if even in old VAZs, stop signals and turn signals fail, and on the left side, where the driver's door provides additional mechanical stress on the wires. So, in the Nissan X-Trail, part of the control wired systems, buttons and cables are located on the steering wheel. The loops of the audio system, cruise control, and speakerphone located on the rotating elements are subject to abrasion.

Front right door wiring

In the hands of a competent electrician, the problem with loops is easily eliminated. If there is no competent electrician, or the abrasion of the loops is catastrophic, that is, not “sensitive insulation”, but “in rags”, repair and replacement of control loops will cost tens or two thousand rubles.

The Nissan X-Trail's electric seat adjustment is also weak due to increased mobility. This is especially true for the driver's seat. Deterioration of electrics and loops is inevitable. And in the case of the Nissan X-Trail, a significant portion of the electrical system is located in the moving parts, which increases wear and tear many times over.

In addition to direct mechanical action, there is a problem of condensation of excess moisture, a difficult temperature regime, strong heating near the rubbing parts of the mechanism, unreliable protection of some units from dirt.

Sensors

Incorrectly transmitting sensors, these are serious shortcomings of the Nissan X-Trail from the very first to the latest models. Quite often, this is a problem for a car owner who does not want to spend extra money on replacing a combined unit. By the way, the combined nodes in the Nissan X-Trail are decent.

Open resistor sensor: contacts constantly float in the fuel

Fuel sensors. Ixtrail has two of them. The contacts of the fuel gauge stick, clog up and oxidize, for this reason the sensor readings are not very accurate. It makes no sense to measure the pros and cons of a car in this case.

Fuel level sensor, which is combined with a petrol pump

The problem can be solved in the usual way by simply cleaning the boards. The "right" filter is no problem, but the "left" one is combined with the fuel pump. Replacement will cost more than 10,000 rubles. For this reason, many drivers limit themselves to cleaning the right one, which does not contribute to the effective operation of the level gauge.

In extreme conditions, which, according to the Nissan X-Trail regulations, are freezing temperatures, replacement of components should be carried out more often.

The same applies to the oil filter.

Expensive components

Cheap repairs for the Nissan X-Trail are impossible in principle. Considering the pros and cons of the Nissan X Trail, expensive components should be noted, for which replacement is recommended at the end of their service life.

This applies to scheduled work with a CVT transmission. Most CVTs use a special CVT Fluid NS ‑ 2, which is more expensive than conventional transmission fluid. The oil filter, which must be changed at the same time as the oil change, has additional functions and is decently worth it. It is recommended to change the oil 2 times a year, which is about 32 thousand annually. In the event of problems with the variator, and they arise due to improper actions by the user, belt change and pulley grinding may be added to an unscheduled oil change.

Technical flaws

The small sores of the Nissan X-Trail, especially those bought in the secondary market, are very unpleasant for the driver - these are plastic rattling parts in the cabin, as they are called "crickets". The driver's problem is that by getting used to not paying attention to small clicks and squeaks, you can miss a serious nuisance. The howl of the variator, of course, cannot be confused with anything, but it is easy to miss the clicking and tapping of the steering rack.

Let's list the most vulnerable spots of the Nissan X-Trail in terms of unexpected squeaks:

  • Outside - a panel above the wipers. By the way, if the cold is approaching, it is advisable to replace the regular wipers immediately, they are often made of rubber that is not sufficiently resistant to frost. A disgusting grinding against the glass instead of a soft glide can be an unpleasant surprise.
  • Center console.
  • Heating system. A motor whistles and clicks in it, which will eventually have to be replaced.
  • The seats, although they are of the latest design and are stuffed with electronics, but after 2-3 years creak almost like a spring sofa of grandma's. This is, in principle, normal. None of the drivers complain about the seats, and everyone finds the adjustment system very comfortable. And they just get used to the creak and are surprised when strangers, for example, when selling a car, pay attention to rather loud creaks.

Nissan X-Trail is not the cheapest car and requires considerable investments in monthly maintenance, filters must be changed in accordance with the maintenance schedule, regardless of the cost.

With proper driving and regular maintenance, the new Nissan X-Trail won't be a problem.
