Design

In China, H2 buyers are offered more opportunities for personalizing the exterior than in the Russian Federation. For residents of China, various options for a false radiator grille and wheel rims are available, while Russians can choose only the shade of the roof. The presence of a contrasting roof indicates the premium that Haval tries so hard to emphasize in everything it does (at the request of the buyer, the roof can be painted in the same color as the body). The huge trapezoidal radiator grille at the front of the body is perhaps the only detail that breaks the harmony in the appearance of the H2. Comfort

Salon H2 looks simple, but it boasts high-quality and pleasant to the touch finishing materials with a well-chosen texture. The plastic is mostly soft and pliable, there are no pretentious pseudo-wood elements, but there are absolutely appropriate details that mimic carbon and aluminum. For the upholstery of the seats and door cards in the "base" used ordinary fabric, and in the "top" - good quality eco-leather. The steering wheel in all trim levels is sheathed in perforated leather. The only drawback in the interior trim is the multitude of lacquered elements. They harmoniously fit into the interior, but they glare in the sun and require frequent wiping, which is not very convenient. The seats of the first row are soft, with short cushions and poorly expressed lateral support, but they are still suitable for long trips. The driver's seat has an electric adjustment in 6 directions, and the steering column is adjustable in tilt and reach, so the driver's seat is easy to adjust "for yourself." Between the front seats - the central box, which contains the AUX and USB connectors, as well as the cigarette lighter socket.


The space on the second row of seats is limited, but it is, in principle, enough for two or three adults. The rear sofa is relatively comfortable, only the fit is uncomfortable due to the narrow doorway. Air deflectors, additional boxes (the armrest does not count) and a 12 Volt outlet for rear passengers, alas, are not provided. The steering wheel is three-spoke, with ergonomic nodules. On the left side of the steering wheel there are “registered” buttons for controlling the audio system and the on-board computer, and on the right side there are buttons that are responsible for cruise control and the Hands-free function. The H2 dashboard is a mix of design refinements, and not all of them are appropriate. "Tidy" is quite readable, has turquoise backlighting "for an amateur" and, fortunately, does not look like a Chinese music center from the 90s, which is observed in a number of cars from China.

To drive the Hummer, Edward specifically opened category C in the rights. But H2 is not his only car, therefore it is used infrequently and in a gentle mode, without mud rides. For example, the Hummer was hibernating all last winter. Therefore, the mileage for seven years of operation has only doubled and is 203,000 km.

There are no problems with servicing and searching for spare parts, most of the consumables are in stock. But I had to fight with the tax authorities. For the first three years of ownership, Eduard received a transport tax calculated according to the classification of trucks, but then the inspectors changed their minds and recalculated the rate as for a passenger car. Through the court, everything was decided in favor of Edward.


Plans

After the work done on the bodywork, the current task is to "restore" the interior. The process has already begun: the ceiling and armrest have been tightened, the seats are next.


Model history

Introduced in 2002, the H2 became the second model in the Hummer range and the first SUV of the brand, without any discounts suitable for daily use. The SUV with a curb weight of under 3 tons and a proprietary box-like design was built on the GMT913 platform and had a lot in common with its offspring such as the Chevrolet Tahoe. The engine is only V8 6.0 (315-325 hp) paired with a four-speed "automatic". The drive is permanent full drive with lowering and differential locks.

H2 quickly gained popularity, and such that it was assembled in 2004 at the Kaliningrad Avtotor. In 2005, the SUT pickup made up the company for the traditional SUV. In 2008, Hummer underwent restyling, the main innovation of which was the new V8 6.2 with 393 hp. But this did not help to stop the falling sales - only on the American markets they fell more than twice. Having held out in production for another year, the H2 rolled off the assembly line, and soon the Hummer brand itself was liquidated.
