View Zaz and Chevrolet Aveo. Reviews of owners of zaz view

ZAZ "Vida" is a compact B-class sedan produced at the Zaporozhye Automobile Plant. In fact, "Vida" is a copy of the well-known Sherole Aveo in the 250th body. The only exception is the emblem on the radiator grille and the title in the TCP. The start of production of the car ZAZ "Vida" began in 2012. This machine is still in series production without any changes. Why is it so widespread? Let's see what kind of reviews and specifications ZAZ "Vida" has.

Appearance

As we noted earlier, the car is a Ukrainian copy of the Aveo. Externally, it is the same recognizable sedan with smooth lines, neat optics and laconic bumpers. The design of the ZAZ "Vida" car in 2017 looks a little "tired". However, this machine does not cause rejection.

As for the dimensions of the body, the car is fully consistent with its class. The vehicle is 4.31 meters long, 1.71 meters wide, and 1.51 meters high. The wheelbase is almost 2 and a half meters. The ground clearance of "Vida" is the same as that of "Aveo". It is equal to 16 centimeters. The machine has short overhangs, due to which it copes well with bumps on the road. Wide arches accommodate wheels up to 16 inches in diameter.

Salon

Inside the car ZAZ "Vida" looks as simple and budgetary as possible. Of course, you shouldn't expect anything special for such a price. There is a "blown" panel in front, two air ducts and a climate control unit are located in the center.

The steering wheel is three-spoke, without additional buttons for remote control (although in Solaris and Kia Rio this is already the basic equipment). How well is the car made by ZAZ "Vida"? Reviews say that the quality of the finish is at a normal level. The car is moderately noisy on the move. There are no obvious squeaks and "crickets". This was shown by a test drive.

ZAZ "Vida" is equipped with simple seats without pronounced lateral support. Reviews say that the back gets very tired at long distances. The upholstery is only fabric, even in the highest trim levels. There is only enough space in the rear for two adult passengers. The trunk of the car ZAZ "Vida" is quite roomy (400 liters), as the drivers repeatedly say. The back of the sofa can be folded in a 40:60 ratio. This allows the usable volume to be increased to 725 liters. A full-size spare wheel and a set of keys are located under the boot floor.

Specifications

The engine line includes three power units of different power. All of them are gasoline, equipped with five-speed mechanics or "automatic".

Let's start with the youngest motor. This is a 1.5-liter, 8-valve power unit with 84 horsepower. The maximum torque is 128 Nm. The characteristics of the dynamics are frankly weak, as evidenced by the test drive. ZAZ "Vida" with this engine accelerates to hundreds in 14 seconds.

"View" 1.4

Next in the lineup is a 16-valve engine. Despite the smaller volume (1.4 liters), it develops a good power - 94 hp. The torque is 130 Nm at 3400 rpm. It is the only powertrain available with a 4-speed automatic transmission (and with maximum equipment).

In the middle configuration, this car is equipped with a 1.5-liter 16-valve engine with a capacity of 109 horsepower. The maximum torque of the unit is 140 Nm. True, this engine has to be cranked up well before it picks up the required power, drivers say. Paired with this unit is a five-speed manual transmission. Acceleration to hundreds is 11 seconds. The maximum speed is 170 kilometers per hour. Average fuel consumption is seven liters. This is a very decent indicator. The situation is different with the automatic machine. Here, the minimum consumption starts at eight liters, and only in suburban mode.

Prices and configuration

Officially, the car ZAZ "Vida" was supplied to the Russian market for only two years. In the summer of 2014, he left Russia and is now available only on the secondary market. Depending on the configuration and year of manufacture, this car can be purchased for 200-300 thousand rubles.

In the domestic market (in Ukraine), ZAZ "Vida" is still being produced and sold. The car is offered in several trim levels:

  • standard;
  • comfort;
  • suite.

The starting price for a car with basic equipment is 260 thousand hryvnia (585 thousand rubles). The basic configuration includes the following set of options:

  • rear window heating;
  • rear fog lights;
  • electric headlight corrector;
  • decorative caps and 14-inch stamped wheels.

The comfort package is available at a price of 285 thousand hryvnia (590 thousand rubles). For this price, you buy a 1.5-liter car with a 5-speed manual transmission. In addition to standard options, this configuration contains:

  • electric front windows;
  • hydraulic power steering;
  • air conditioning;
  • front fog lights;
  • driver's side airbag;
  • electric heating and adjustment of side mirrors;
  • steering column with mechanical adjustment.

The maximum luxury equipment is offered at a price of 317 thousand hryvnia (650 thousand rubles). This includes a 1.4-liter engine and an automatic transmission. The wheels are cast, 15 inches. The equipment level is practically the same as in the comfort package, with the exception of the immobilizer and the two rear power windows.

Regardless of the configuration, the car uses front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. Although many automakers have already abandoned this scheme and use disc brakes "in a circle".

Conclusion

So, we found out what characteristics, reviews and prices the ZAZ "Vida" car has. This machine is the most demanded in the domestic market. In Russia, it cannot cope with the competition of such world manufacturers as Kia and Hyundai. Zaporozhye "Vida" is significantly inferior to them in terms of safety characteristics and equipment level. For these reasons, the car left the Russian market in 2014. Whether to buy it now is a rather controversial issue. The car is very outdated in appearance. Technical characteristics remained at the level of the 2000s. If you take this car, then only in the secondary market. But it's certainly not new for 600-700 thousand rubles.

Transferring production of an outdated but popular model to developing countries is a common practice, especially in the budget segment. The ZAZ Vida hatchback is another such car. There are no noticeable changes in the design of the body and in the cabin, with the exception of the factory emblems. Localization of components in Ukraine at the beginning of production in March 2012 was 15%, but should grow to 51. First of all, these are body panels and interior parts, and later - the chassis and power unit.

For Ukrainian buyers, as many as four engine options are available: two "native" Korean (1.4 and 1.5 liters), Melitopol (1.3 liters) and Chinese (1.5 liters). In Russia, so far only one version is officially available with the last engine in the list and a 5-speed "mechanics". The same is installed on Forza (an analogue of the Chinese Chery M11) - another model that is leaving the ZAZ assembly line today.

The Vida-hatchback package in Russia is also the only one - SX, in which there is one airbag, power steering and two-way steering, air conditioning, front power windows, audio preparation (four speakers and an antenna), central locking with remote control and fog lights.

In my opinion...

Despite the fact that I personally was not enthusiastic about the second generation Aveo, I must admit: such cars are in great demand - it is foolish to argue that their price / quality ratio is good. Vida is a pretty decent discounted clone. It is not surprising that while maintaining the design, the plastics have become simpler (it turns out, and this is possible), and the only (so far) complete set is very modest by modern standards. Even the radio is optional equipment for a fee. But it's not that annoying (what is the price - such is the level of equipment), but the engine. Personally, he did not inspire confidence in me: it works noisy, hard (VAZ-style) does not start with a half-kick. On our particular car, after a half-hour trip in a traffic jam, the engine was uncertainly holding the revs and strove to stall. I don’t remember that there were such sins behind Korean engines. As for the rest, both the "source" and the "copy" are of the same berry field: the third variety is not a marriage.

In my opinion...

A sense of déjà vu: the little Aveo of the last generation under the guise of ZAZ has barely changed in appearance, but the poor interior of the “original source” has become simply miserable. However, on the go you quickly forget about total budgeting. I liked the energy-intensive suspension - it perfectly digests road joints and large potholes. Distinct steering effort and quick reactions incite frequent rearrangements in the city bustle. The fit is comfortable. I did not find any body flaws in the Zaporozhye assembly, there are no squeaks and knocks in motion. The idyll continued until the first Moscow traffic jam - the idle speed jumped up, the engine stalled several times. I admit that this is a problem of a specific instance and everything can be fixed by replacing the sensor or updating the firmware. However, the embarrassment stirred up long-forgotten phobias of the owner of a domestic car. On the whole, Vida left a pleasant impression. But will it become a bestseller in the affordable segment? For the same money, you can take a Renault Logan in a similar configuration. Worse for the Vida, the next-generation Korean "original," the Chevrolet Aveo sedan, costs a little more. I believe that this is a fully justified premium for innovation and modern design.

In my opinion...

Looks Vida / Aveo though deliberately budget, but even more or less modern. Rides about the same. Mainly complaints about ergonomics. The right knee rests against the swollen center console, and if you move back, the steering wheel is far away. If there is any mechanism, then it should work, perform its function, and not just be present for show in the specification. Especially when it comes to an inexpensive people's car. This is me now about the cup holders - it is impossible to use them. Well, actually, ZAZ has nothing to do with it: “what happened, so I fell in love,” as it is sung in a famous song. But it would not hurt to work on the build quality. For example, tilting the rear seat forward by pulling the eyelet did not work. Either there was not enough strength, or the mechanism wedged up. They didn’t bother - we take our word for it.

Heading to the ZAZ office for the keys to a new car, I roughly understood what to expect from it. And if there were no global changes with the body and suspension, it was not without organ transplantation: the sedan and hatchback are still supplied to Russia with a “heart” from the well-known Chery Bonus and Chery Very models. Together with the engine from Asian cars, Vida inherited the transmission. It is these facts that can scare off many potential buyers. I considered it my main task to confirm or deny these fears.

When sliding, the car behaves quite predictably. Photo: Evgeniya Lyubimova

As usual, I'll start the description of the car with the exterior. If we compare with the "donor", then, apart from the emblem on the radiator grille and the Vida lettering on the trunk lid, there are no changes. Of course, not a standard of beauty, but it looks pretty decent and does not cause rejection. The gaps between the body panels are even, all doors can be easily opened and then closed. In the cabin, again, no shocks: the same old familiar Aveo with barely visible changes. The interior has lost its silver inserts, a three-spoke steering wheel with a new emblem has appeared, and on the door panels there are innovations such as reflectors. The steering wheel, I must say right away, did not really like it: it was made of too slippery plastic, but it became more habitual to press the signal (in Chevrolet, the signal buttons were not located in the most convenient places - along the edges of the steering hub). And although the plastic of the interior turned out to be very tough to the touch, during a week of driving on uneven roads I did not hear a single "cricket". Commendable! The interior cannot be called cramped, and if you compare the interior decoration with the closest competitor - Renault Logan, here, though not so spacious, it is definitely more comfortable. The window buttons are in their usual places, the stove handles rotate with a pleasant effort, the air conditioner works properly, and the small glove compartment is quite neat. A sufficient volume of the trunk is very comfortable, but, unlike the same "Logan", the rear seats are folded here, and separately.

Until we hit the road, it is worth talking about the configuration: at the moment there is only one. If in the homeland of production there are three levels of equipment (including a version with an automatic) and two engines to choose from, then we have only the maximum configuration available, which includes ABS, air conditioning, power steering, fog lights, front windows, electrically adjustable heated mirrors. You can choose only the body type - sedan or 5-door hatchback. The Russian representative office hopes to expand the list of complete sets in the near future by adding a 4-speed automatic to the list of equipment. Later, it is possible that more budgetary versions will appear with a 1.5-liter engine (84 hp), known for the Chevrolet Lanos model, as well as a 1.4-liter Korean engine with a capacity of 94 hp. from.

Only the emblems of the plant are of Ukrainian origin. Photo: Evgeniya Lyubimova

On the go, I liked the machine as a whole - it's still the same Aveo. The funny thing is that the "foreign" engine behaves exactly like the original: the engine is clearly not working at full strength. The declared power is 109 liters. from. should be more than enough, but when starting off there is a slight dip, and only after 1500-2000 rpm the engine starts to wake up. And if on dry asphalt it does not bother much, then on a slippery surface, when you need to move smoothly, sometimes difficulties arise. Either the start occurs with a failure without the required acceleration, or you get under way with a slip. But over time you get used to this feature. I must say that such a disease is the "scourge" of cars produced recently. I observed this behavior both in powerful premium cars and in state employees. This is due to the introduction of Euro 4 standards, which pretty much "choke" the engine.

The small size of the mirrors pleases with a good view without creating a dead zone. One cannot but rejoice in the presence of adjustments and heating. Photo: Evgeniya Lyubimova

And the Asian motor has potential. The engine, called ASTECO, was developed by Chery in conjunction with the Austrian company AVL. If you do not hesitate to turn it and change gears more often, then the little car starts to come to life. You don't get lost in the city traffic, and then you even start to "be quick" little by little (here, successful side mirrors with a good view are especially helpful). But, having reached a cruising speed of 100-110 km / h, the engine starts to "howl" slightly. The factory knows about this nuance, and in the future, additional sound insulation of the engine compartment should appear. On the previous Aveo, gear shifting was not very clear, and with the "View" there is a feeling of déjà vu: when changing gears quickly, the gear lever "stumbles" every now and then. But, as time has shown, this is a matter of habit: you just need to move the lever more smoothly. Those who change from VAZ front-wheel drive vehicles will definitely not be disappointed.

The seat backs are folded separately, but the floor is not even. Photo: Evgeniya Lyubimova

But the suspension has shown its best side. At large waves, the Vidu coating does not swing, and there have never been breakdowns - the energy intensity is at a high level. You have to pay for this with a fair amount of rigidity - small irregularities are transferred to the body quite carefully. This is partly due to the 15-inch tires with a 55-profile - with wheels of the standard dimension 185/60 R14 it would be softer. Fortunately, the stiffer suspension affects the handling for the better. The car confidently holds the turns, although it does not really indulge in directional stability: Vida prowls slightly in the ruts of the asphalt, sometimes requiring steering. In general, the sedan behaves very decently on our roads, including on winter surfaces. On the "snake" - no excitement, everything is predictable and without surprises: in extreme modes, the car predictably "floats" out of the corner and with a little laziness stabilizes with gas release.

The trunk is comfortable. The folding seat backs form a small "step", but, nevertheless, long items can be transported. Photo: Evgeniya Lyubimova

What's the bottom line? At ZAZ, they did not reinvent the wheel, but followed the already familiar path, mastering the production of budget foreign cars. And, in my opinion, they are doing well, although they have something to work on. I do not think that the new engine with a box will be less reliable than the relatives, which were not perfect anyway.

OUR VERDICT

Even with "alien" engine and transmission, the car is not much different from its predecessor. The price will play a decisive role in the purchase. Until recently, the sedan cost 400,000 rubles. Now, taking into account discounts on cars in 2012, the plant has lowered the price to 379,000 rubles. A very advantageous offer, considering that the main competitor of Renault Logan (1.6 engine, 102 hp) in a similar configuration costs about 463,000 rubles.

The interior, although modest, is done quite neatly. Photo: Evgeniya Lyubimova

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES
Energy-intensive, albeit stiff suspension, high ground clearance, favorable price / equipment ratio, predictable handling, clear brakes, a developed network of dealerships.

Damped gas pedal, noisy engine at high revs, on a straight line sometimes there is not enough feedback on the steering wheel.

Driving

The main complaints are about the belated reaction to gas and not the clearest gear change.

Salon

For a budget car, the interior is quite high quality.

Comfort

The suspension would be softer, but better sound insulation.

Safety

Crash test results Chevrolet Aveo are alarming, which is offset by predictable behavior on the road.

Auto ZAZ "Vida" is a model of light personal transport, which is manufactured both in the body of a hatchback and a sedan. Large-scale production was launched in 2012. In Ukraine, the car went on sale only by March. A month later, the official presentation of "Vida" hatchback from ZAZ took place. It took place in one of the largest car dealerships in Kiev.

This car is considered one of the best in the domestic market. It is still actively bought, and the owners express positive reviews even after several years of operation. If you want to buy an inexpensive Ukrainian-made car, then you can safely take this copy.

Description

The ZAZ "Vida" car, the characteristics of which are presented below, first rolled off the assembly line in 2012. The first batch was, accordingly, a trial, simultaneously with the release, the certification process was underway. The T250 body was used on some models, including the Chevrolet Aveo, it became one of the line of cars that were also produced in Ukraine. This machine was produced under its working name - ZAZ "Vida". In Russia, it is better known as Point.

February 2012 - it was at this time that serial production began. The complete assembly (stamping, body creation, painting) was first performed on the main conveyor in Zaporozhye. The car was planned to be exported only when the share of Ukrainian components is more than half. The ZAZ "Vida" car will differ from the original version in wheels, logos, configuration options and, of course, cost.

The machine in certain versions is equipped with different power units. We are talking about licensed (1.5 L), Melitopol (1.3 L) and Korean (1.5 L) engines. You can see various variants of the car on the market. A sedan and a hatchback with 5 doors are available.

The established sale of the car ZAZ "Vida" in the dealer network of Ukraine appeared in the year of release. Manufacturers were faced with the task of increasing the number of products and increasing the development of domestic parts. It was initially known that the car would go on sale to Russia, however, in what form and at what cost, no one knew. In the first year, more than 10 thousand copies were sold.

Special car version

In August 2012, at the Moscow Motor Show and in September of the same year at the Capital Motor Show (Ukraine), the concept car ZAZ Vida Special Version was presented in the sedan body, but with the front part from the hatchback of the same modification.

The model is an independent development of the Zaporozhye Automobile Plant. The ZAZ Vida Special Version received a 1.4-liter gasoline-powered power unit with a maximum power rating of 94 horses, which was produced directly by General Motors. The motor is paired with an automatic transmission (4 steps). Car similar to the Chevrolet Aveo for the Mexican market and the Chinese model Chevrolet Lova, but with a different front bumper and grille. ZAZ Vida Special Version may go into serial production.

Pickup

In May 2013, a prototype of a van called ZAZ Vida Pick-up was presented at the Kiev International Motor Show SIA. The developers declare a 3000-liter trunk and a carrying capacity that can reach seven hundred kilograms. Under the hood of the car there is an 86-horsepower 1.5-liter engine, the fuel type is gasoline. The start of serial production was scheduled for the end of 2013. This car is a copy of Chevrolet Aveo, the only thing that the company did was put up for sale the same model under its logo. The suspension has a lever structure, due to which the movement is carried out most smoothly. Potential buyers who were going to purchase ZAZ "Vida" studied the owners' reviews in sufficient detail. From which we can draw a certain conclusion: no significant shortcomings were found. This is due to the professionalism of the workers

Body

The length of the car is: sedan - 4300 mm, hatchback - 4000 mm. Width: sedan - 1700 mm, hatchback - 1600 mm, height - 1500 mm; wheelbase - 2400 mm. These dimensions do not differ from the dimensions of the Chevrolet. However, they allowed for increased handling and improved cornering maneuverability. The curb weight of the car is 1000-1200 kg, so the car can carry quite heavy loads and a large number of passengers. Due to this, the car ZAZ "Vida", the characteristics of which can be read in this article, received many positive reviews from the owners. The volume of the fuel tank is 45 liters. The luggage compartment of the sedan is 400 liters, the hatchback - 220 liters. If more space is needed for larger cargo, the rear seat must be folded down to increase the capacity to 980 liters.

Transmission

The transmission of cars is made according to a front-wheel drive scheme with front-wheel drives of different lengths. The model with a 1.5 liter engine is equipped with a five-speed manual transmission, and the 1.4 liter Vida is equipped with an automatic transmission.

Prices and configuration

ZAZ Vida is offered in five trim levels. They differ in technical characteristics. Two models are equipped with an automatic transmission and are available in sedan and hatchback bodies. The basic configuration of the sedan has a standard set: an airbag for the driver, a manual transmission that works with a medium-power engine.

The next improved equipment includes a manual transmission, air conditioning, airbags for the front passenger and, of course, the driver. There are power windows and fog lights. Similar characteristics are available in both the sedan and the hatchback.

Prices for ZAZ "Vida" sedan with manual transmission start at UAH 90 thousand. (300 thousand rubles) for the basic version. An improved LS with the same engine, hydraulic booster, air conditioning, airbag, power windows and fog lights costs from 98 thousand UAH. For a complete set of LT the machine will have to pay a little more: from 117 thousand UAH.

Cars with a hatchback body in the LS configuration (5-speed mechanics) cost 95 thousand UAH. LT version (automatic) - from 116 thousand UAH (302 thousand rubles).

Detailed characteristics of the hatchback

So, ZAZ "Vida" in a hatchback body is practically a copy of the "Chevrolet-Aveo" model, as mentioned earlier. As expected, the car is not much different from its original version in technical terms and in appearance. The front suspension has some features that are inherent in parts of a foreign manufacturer, while the rear is a structure of levers. ZAZ "Vida" (hatchback) really liked both Russian and Ukrainian buyers. On the front wheels, you can see the installed disc type brakes, and on the rear wheels - drum. The parameters of the car are no different: all dimensions remain the same.

The basic set includes the minimum set required for medium-level safety. Expensive versions are more comfortable.

Engine

The ZAZ "Vida" car, the engine of which, in principle, has quite acceptable characteristics, moves along the roads due to the gasoline power plant. The manufacturer installs two types of units:

  • four-valve - a mechanical type gearbox, and a speed of 100 km / h can be developed in 12 seconds;
  • the eight-valve engine is capable of developing 64 horsepower. And you can pick up speed from a standstill in 14 seconds.

In principle, these characteristics are really good for a Ukrainian-made car. After all, we are not talking about Germany, Japan or America, but about Ukraine. It is worth noting that this car ZAZ "Vida", reviews of which confirm all the stated characteristics, rolls off the same assembly line as "Lanos", known throughout the country. The manufacturer had to create a great car, improve it and completely fit all the requirements of a modern driver. However, it is not easy to do this, if only because it was remembered by buyers for its durability, good endurance and complete immunity to the climatic conditions of any region.

In this article, we will figure out why the ZAZ Vida model is attractive to buyers, its features, positive and negative qualities, and also find out what the owners say about it.

How it all began

The Zaporozhye Automobile Plant was founded in the Soviet era and was engaged in the production of the well-known small class cars ZAZ "Zaporozhets".

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the plant continued to produce this model, but at the same time the production of another car - "Tavria", and later on "Slavuta" was launched.

But these obsolete cars were no longer able to compete with other cars of a small class.

Gradually, the plant switched to the assembly of cars from other manufacturers - Daewoo, Chevrolet, Kia, VAZ.

Revival of production

Recently, the Zaporizhzhya Automobile Plant decided to revive its automotive industry, however, based on the developments of its foreign colleagues.

In particular, the designers took the first generation Chevrolet Aveo as a basis, which has found popularity in the CIS. On its basis, ZAZ released its own model, named ZAZ Vida.

The release of this model began in 2012 and continues to this day, but due to a number of factors, mainly economic, production is intermittent.

But the car still "lives", is sold and driven.

So, ZAZ Vida belongs to subcompact city cars. It is based on the first generation Aveo model, but Vida has been slightly redesigned and therefore it has a ZAZ brand nameplate on the radiator grill.

Modifications, configurations

Vida is produced in two bodies - a sedan and a hatchback.

There are also several configurations for the car.

The sedan has three of them - the basic Standart, as well as Comfort and the top Lux. The hatchback has no basic configuration.

Very modest equipment and does not include so many equipment.

From the outside, the presence of disc brakes in front is noted, drum brakes are used at the back.

Of the additional lighting equipment, only a rear fog lamp is available. Bumper and side mirrors are painted in body color.

The car salon in the base is equipped with:

  • head restraints on all seats;
  • heated rear window;
  • headlight corrector;
  • power steering;
  • adjustable steering column and one airbag for the driver.

That's all - modestly, and without any "buns", at least the audio preparation is well done.

It is interesting that the Vida does not have a full-fledged audio system even in the top-end configuration, there is only preparation for its installation.

Comfort package.

It is already somewhat better in terms of equipment, although from the exterior elements it has only added front foglights and wheel caps.

But the interior equipment has improved somewhat. There are power windows, but only front ones, electrically adjustable and heated side mirrors, central locking, air conditioning.

Security has remained the same, that is, there is only one airbag.

Complete set Lux.

Differs from Comfort in presence and immobilizer. Additionally, it can be equipped with 15-inch alloy wheels.

As for the ABS, in one modification this system is standard, and for the other it is optional. But more on that below.

Even based on the configurations, it can be understood that ZAZ Vida is a budget car, therefore, you should not count on high build quality, as well as a large number of equipment.

But in its price range, cars may well compete, since other cars for this price are equipped in about the same way.

A big plus for Weed is that the model is a copy of the Chevrolet Aveo, which has shown itself well on our roads.

Overall parameters

Both versions of the car are 5-door and are designed for 5 people. But the sedan is longer - 4.325 m versus 3.920 m - for the hatchback.

The sedan is also wider, this parameter for it is 1.71 m, and for the hatchback - 1.68 m.But they are the same in height - 1.505 m.

Interestingly, the sedan was copied from the first generation Aveo 1, and the hatchback, which appeared later - from the 1st generation Aveo hatchback, but only restyled. Therefore, these two cars are outwardly dissimilar.

But if we compare the sedan of Vida with the Aveo, then from the differences you can notice only small alterations, mainly touching the radiator grille.

The same applies to the hatchback, only some elements of the exterior have been changed.

Power units

Initially, Vida went on sale with only one power plant - a 1.5 liter, 8-valve, developing 84 hp. from. This engine was developed by General Motors, in general, they borrowed it again from the Aveo.

Later, two more power plants appeared: a 1.4-liter, with 16 valves and 94 hp. from. power and 1.5-liter, but already 16-valve with a capacity of 109 liters. from.

The first of them is also a development of GM, but the 1.5-liter is a joint brainchild of the Melitopol plant and the Chery company.

All engines - gasoline, injection, meet Euro-4 standards.

The engines are considered quite good for a subcompact car, although they do not provide outstanding performance.

But there is an interesting feature that few people know.

One of the versions of ZAZ Vida, with factory modification SF69Y0-71, although it is equipped with the "weakest" engine of all, but its standard equipment includes, which is a rather interesting move by the manufacturer.

Transmission

A manual 5-speed gearbox is the main one; all modifications with a 1.5-liter engine come with it.

But the model with a 1.4-liter engine is paired with an automatic transmission in 4 steps.

For the version of the car with automatic transmission and in the top-end configuration, ABS is offered as an option, but in the base there are alloy wheels. All versions have front-wheel drive.

A little in terms of performance.

The designers created a car in which the speed and performance indicators turned out to be contradictory.

For example, the lowest maximum speed is developed by a car with a 109-horsepower engine - only 160 km / h.

84 hp engine from. with "mechanics" accelerates the car to 170 km / h. But the model with automatic transmission and a 1.4-liter unit already allows it to accelerate to 176 km / h. Moreover, these figures are the same for the sedan and the hatchback.

In terms of fuel consumption, the most advantageous is a 109-horsepower engine, on average it consumes 7.2 liters, a car with automatic transmission consumes 7.3 liters in the combined cycle, but an 84-horsepower unit - 7.8 liters in this mode.

As for the rest of the Vida nodes, there is nothing remarkable about them. Suspension front - independent MacPherson, rear - semi-independent. Front brakes - disc, rear - drum.

On the technical and structural side, there is also nothing remarkable, everything is quite simple and no frills, which is the norm for budget cars.

Owner reviews

ZAZ Vida went on sale in 2012, and so far no changes have been made to its design, and it is unlikely that they will be made.

The car itself, in terms of its technical component, as well as equipment, is not inferior to many budget counterparts.

And how the car showed itself, you can find out from the reviews of the owners below. Moreover, there are both positive and negative reviews for this car.

Positive reviews.

Andrey (Kiev, Ukraine), 1.5 liter engine (84 hp), manual transmission.

“I bought Vida as a car for my wife. The choice of this car is explained very simply: any of the brands belonging to class "B" (the same Accent, Fabia, Polo) does not appeal to me, so why overpay? In addition, I needed a temporary version, which I will change after.

This is not my first car, Focus, Peugeot 207 was singled out for work, and Logan and Cerate were in his possession.

The machine was purchased complete with an airbag, air conditioning, power steering, front foglights. Additionally, I immediately bought new tires, rugs and a radio tape recorder.

Vida's driving performance is quite tolerable. The rear is a little harsh, but the front suspension is not bad, the holes "swallow" perfectly.

Motor with its 84 liters. from. pleases with high-torque (Peugeot 207 is far from it).

They get used to the clutch very quickly, it works just fine. 2nd gear at the checkpoint is a bit tough to turn on, especially when lowering from third.

Noise insulation does not differ from cars of this class.

Passed zero maintenance, during which they changed the oil, filter, caliper guides. In general, this service cost 600 UAH, which is very cheap.

As long as I am satisfied with the car, everything works well. I will exploit. "

Yuri (Balakleya, Ukraine), 1.5 liter engine, manual transmission, Comfort.

“I have already driven 13 thousand km, so I can already sum up some results regarding the car.

Body, interior.

No rumbles and creaks in the cabin, everything is relatively quiet. Friends even wondered how much the extra skimmer cost, but I didn’t do it.

Air conditioning in the summer works with a bang, in winter the stove also showed itself well.

The headlights are just class.

The dipped beam even had to be lowered down. Installed fog lights during the fog of a healthy person helped. With my not very small stature, I sit in a car without problems, there is enough space in the front, and the passengers do not reach behind with their knees.

Convenient dashboard, information is easy to read. Convenient steering column switches.

In terms of fuel consumption, I did not particularly notice, but I will say that they most likely correspond to the passport ones. It's just that it doesn't really bother me, and I'm reluctant to do checks.

The engine is quite responsive, making it easy to overtake or accelerate downhill.

The car accelerated to 150 km / h, while it still behaved steadily, there were no vibrations and beats. But I found for myself that the optimal maximum for Vida would be 130 km / h.

The suspension is generally soft. A couple of times I caught serious holes, and nothing - the racks survived.

I realized that ZAZ Vida is far from the worst option for my money. And how it will show itself further - we'll see. "

Ivan (Oryol, Russia), 1.5 liters, manual transmission.

“When purchasing a car, the main criteria were low price, ease of maintenance and repair, since I am an entrepreneur and the car feeds me.

Having considered several options, I stopped at ZAZ Vida, because in terms of its characteristics and performance, the car completely suited me.

The driving performance of this car was pleasantly surprised, the machine holds the road well even in the rain.

I was also pleasantly pleased with the consumption of gasoline, this ZAZ is very economical, maneuverable and with good ground clearance.

The car is easy to maintain and repair, I did not notice the lack of spare parts, everything you need can be obtained at any auto shop.

Outwardly, it looks quite elegant. The salon is spacious, the large windshield provides good visibility.

The engine is not noisy, the tidy is easy to see. The interior trim is weak, but for that kind of money you can hardly get better.

The spaciousness of the cabin and trunk is at a height, I often have to transport goods, and it is not difficult to place them in a car.

In winter, the cabin is warm, in summer the air conditioner also works well.

During the operation, the machine did not cause any particular problems. Recently I equipped it with a towbar and a trailer, which further increased the carrying capacity.

In general, I am satisfied with the car, and I think I was not mistaken in my choice. "

It is noteworthy that there will be more positive reviews on the Internet than negative ones.

All owners note that ZAZ Vida is fully consistent with their own money.

But there are also plenty of negative aspects.

Vladimir (Kobelyaki, Ukraine), 1.5 L, manual transmission.

“I bought this car in addition to the existing VAZ-2106 and. You often have to travel by car, including Vida.

After another 10 thousand, the generator and part of the wiring, brake pads and pipelines, rear wheel bearings were replaced.

The engine started to warm up, the thermostat had to be replaced.

The gearbox also began to leak.

In general, the car is really pouring in. It is necessary to constantly repair or replace something. I have a "Six" fewer problems than Vida.

All statements that Vida is the same Chevrolet Aveo are completely untrue. "

Andrey (Kharkov, Ukraine) 1.5 l, manual transmission.

“I have already skated this car for a year. The general feeling is disappointed. The main disadvantages are the poor-quality interior assembly.

Of the problems that have arisen with the car, I will note the poor operation of the windows, plus there were some knocks on the door when it was turned on.

The engine does not decelerate after turning off the speed while driving. Several times stalled after turning on the air conditioner.

In urban conditions, gasoline consumption is at the level of 10 liters, which, in my opinion, is a bit much, while the fuel sensor works in an unclear way.

At speeds above 120 km / h, a beating appears in the steering wheel, while balancing the wheels did not help.

A couple of times the box "showed off", could not turn on the reverse gear, the second was included with difficulty.

There is no sound insulation in the cabin and this is a fact. And these are just the main drawbacks.

In general, ZAZ Vida is very far from a car of high-quality assembly. "

Let's sum up

The Zaporozhye Automobile Plant tried to re-establish the production of its cars, albeit simply by copying an already well-proven model.

But even under such conditions, this car has enough features. Like any other car, ZAZ Vida has basic positive and negative qualities.

Of the positive notes:

  1. Low cost;
  2. Quite good power units in terms of performance;
  3. Spacious salon;
  4. Comfort equipment (albeit minimal);
  5. Spare parts availability;
  6. Ease of repair.

And the negative qualities include:

  1. Build quality;
  2. Lack of sound insulation;
  3. Incorrect fuel sensor readings;
  4. High consumption in urban environments;
  5. Small flaws that can manifest themselves any day.
