Fuel consumption

By today's standards, KamAZ-5410 does not qualify for the title of an economical car. The average fuel consumption of this car is about 41 liters per 100 km. However, when fully loaded, and even in winter, this figure increases significantly.

In connection with such an immodest "appetite" of the truck, the designers of KamAZ have replaced the 250-liter tank, which it was originally equipped with, with larger containers. Initially, a four-stroke KamAZ-740.10 engine was installed on all KamAZ-5410 modifications. It is a V-shaped 8-cylinder naturally aspirated diesel unit with a displacement of 10.85 liters. Its rated power was 154 kW (210 hp) and torque was 668 Nm.

Transmission

Brake system

The truck is equipped with pneumatic drum brakes on all wheels. The brake drums are 400 mm in diameter and the brake linings are 140 mm wide. On all versions of tractors for semitrailers, the braking system is with a combined drive, except for the hydraulic version for working with specialized semitrailers - a two-wire brake circuit is used there.

Frame KamAZ-5410

Unfortunately, passenger seats do not have this "luxury".

As for the layout of the interior space of the cab, the manufacturer offered two options here: without a berth and with one. Cars that were designed for short-range use were equipped with two or three seats. Long-range versions of tractors were equipped with a sleeping bag for drivers to rest, located behind the seats.

Sadly, but for all those 30 years that KamAZ-5410 was produced, any serious modifications aimed at increasing the comfort in the cabin have not been carried out.

Despite the outstanding working qualities of KamAZ-5410, one should not forget about its advanced age. The car was produced for 30 years, plus more than 10 years have passed since the end of its production.
