These two problems led to the conduct: during a routine inspection of cars, dealers tighten the injector mountings, check for oil pressure errors and remove the valve cover to assess the level of contamination and the condition of the vacuum pump. Basically, help is provided on time, but it happened that the motors were changed completely under warranty. Unfortunately, there is no clear cut-off for contamination levels, and dealers should not do anything in the absence of DTCs. And since absolutely on all arriving cars the nozzle attachments are loosened, then the oil channels are already coked to one degree or another, which leads to a reduction. But the main fleet of diesel "ce-x-fifths" has already passed the warranty.

On cars of the first years of production, there was a significant development on the camshaft cams, which led to a strong roar of the engine. The manufacturer eventually corrected this defect.

It's a shame that a diesel engine suffers from such ridiculous ailments, because otherwise it does not cause any trouble at all. Moreover, the listed malfunctions are characteristic not only of Russian cars. In Europe, the corresponding statistics are more extensive - also because the fleet of diesel cars there is much larger.

Gasoline engines Skyactiv 2.0 and 2.5 very high compression ratio (14.0 and 13.0, respectively), which required a significant design change. Direct injection fuel injectors are sensitive to fuel quality. If you refuel at questionable gas stations and close your eyes to the symptoms of clogged injectors, you will have to change them after 100,000 km - it will not save you. Significant clogging of the injectors leads to a difficult start of a cold engine, the fault code signals misfire. However, the nozzles on the CX-5 do not have to be flushed more often than on other brands of machines.

The plastic hinged belt tensioner needs attention. Development appears on it rather quickly, due to which the belt may break. This is a massive problem. An original repair kit is available on the market from a separate roller and belt. Leakage of the hydraulic roller tensioner is occasionally encountered and is available as a separate spare part.

On the first cars, expensive ignition coils with a built-in ionic knock sensor quickly died. Upgraded items were released.
