In 1999, the South Korean company Hyundai presented to the world the second generation Accent with the in-plant LC marking, which is just a product of a deep modernization of the original model. At home, the car was produced until 2005, having previously experienced modernization in 2003, and in India - until 2013. In Russia, it is primarily known as a budget sedan, which was produced from 2001 to 2012 at the Taganrog Automobile Plant.

Outwardly, "Accent" of the second generation looks harmonious and neat, but nothing really catches the eye. The compact body of the car flaunts neatly molded bumpers, nice-looking lighting technology and good proportions in general, which makes its appearance very attractive and nimble.

In general, the "second" Hyundai Accent is available in sedan and hatchback bodies (with three or five doors) and is 4215-4260 mm long, 1670-1680 mm wide and 1395 mm high. The distance between the axles of the "Korean" is 2440 mm, and its ground clearance is 170 mm. In "stowed" form, the car weighs from 970 to 1176 kg, depending on the version.

The interior of the second generation "Accent" is planned quite competently and captivates in terms of ergonomics, but it is tailored exclusively from cheap finishing materials. The steering wheel of the car is simple, the instrument panel is archaic, but informative, and the center console is decorated with minimalism inherent in budget employees.

Hyundai Accent has no problems with the internal capacity - five adults, including the driver, sit in the cabin. However, the rear legroom is not enough, and in general, tall passengers will not be entirely comfortable, and the front seats are practically devoid of lateral support.

The luggage compartment of the sedan holds only 375 liters of luggage, and of the hatchback - from 321 to 859 liters. For the transportation of bulky items, the backs of the rear seats are transformed in a 60:40 ratio, and in a niche under the raised floor for all versions, without exception, a full-size "spare wheel" is hidden.

Specifications. The second generation of the "Accent" of the Taganrog assembly is available with two four-cylinder petrol "aspirated" 1.5 liters each.

  • The first option is a 12-valve unit with multipoint fuel injection, generating 92 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 132 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm.

Depending on the version, the car accelerates to the first "hundred" in 10.5-14.2 seconds, reaches a maximum of 166-181 km / h and on average "eats" 7.5-8.6 liters of fuel in combined conditions.

  • In addition, Hyundai Accent was equipped with petrol "fours" with a volume of 1.3-1.6 liters, developing 75-105 "horses" and 114-143 Nm of torque capacity, and a 1.5-liter turbodiesel, producing 82 forces and 182 Nm of available traction.

The "Accent" of the second incarnation is based on a front-wheel drive "bogie" with a transversely based power plant, a monocoque body type and independent suspension at the front and rear. MacPherson struts and an anti-roll bar are used on the front axle, and the rear is suspended by means of trailing and transverse levers and hydraulic shock absorbers.
The steering on the car is made according to the "gear-rack" scheme with a hydraulic booster, and the braking system combines front disc and rear drum mechanisms (on expensive trim levels there is also 4-channel ABS with EBD).

Among the advantages of the "Korean" are: good looks, flexible engines, good smoothness, low cost, affordable service, reliable design and balanced driving performance.

But he also has disadvantages - cramped second-row seats, simple interior trim, poor sound insulation and a low level of prestige.

Prices and equipment. In the secondary market of Russia in the spring of 2016, the "second" Hyundai Accent can be purchased at prices ranging from 150,000 to 250,000 rubles (although more affordable and more expensive options are offered).

Taganrog-assembled cars already “flaunt” as standard: air conditioning, an audio system, a height-adjustable steering column and power steering ... The “top-end” solutions also have: two airbags, electric side mirrors, fog lights and ABS with EBD.

Greetings to all owners of this car. In this thread - this is my first opinion, so - whether you want to hit it or not - everything is as it is.

He became the owner back in 2001, his wife took such (accent 1.5 mech., GT coupe) 16 class SOHC engine, without ABS, + spoiler - pure Korean, but for the European market (there were only 2 of them in the city), they bought at our official dealer in Almaty (Kazakhstan) - a new one (14,200 green). I did the engine run-in myself, I did not entrust anyone (!) Correctly, in a gentle mode (oil change 5w40 Castrol, synth. + Oil / air filters) I did at 900 km., 4500 km. (for myself, it's so simple) and at 10000 km. - this run-in was accompanied by a slow start, the engine speed did not exceed 2900, without sudden braking, the maximum speed was 70 - until the first oil change, then up to 95, everything is boring and right, but after 10000 km. run - rushed, started driving - my wife, well, sometimes my wife rolled my heart bleeding when I drove so that I rode with friends (I’ll say right away, there were the following cars: from 9 to 15 on the classics, from the King to kamryuhi, from rafik to cruz + now the WRX 2000 imprint, 2000 outback, 2000 four-eyed (SUBARIKI AND HONDS - a separate song of the soul - hehe my auto idols) is not modest, but a fact (I love drive and sooooo love And there are so many cars, because we have a large family and accordingly there are a lot of cars - different, we change something, we leave something as a service and I do the repair, so I judge objectively, BY THIS AUTO CLASS (!) Ok, let's go about the accent: I used it mainly for a reckless drive in the city (quite dynamic, small, maneuverable, economical, not expensive in the service), as they say, gas to the floor, revolutions of at least 4000 (I love it as a wife - I drive it like a mother-in-law) hence the corresponding service (he did not spare money), and since the car is under warranty - everything had to be to do with the officials on the service, since the prices are not great, but SO OFTEN !!! By the way, I will note that there is a problem with spare parts for it, there is nothing to parse, and it is not necessary better, spare parts do not last long, better new ones, there are almost no alternatives from Japanese or other quality.

For about 30-35 thousand, 3 shock absorbers flowed, changed without waiting for death for relatives, steering tips, oil in a box for CASTROL synthetics, a fuel filter, washing nozzles, candles, descent / collapse (the same for 70,000 km. Run, coolant for prophylaxis) Further, all the little things - the chassis (honestly - weak, a little, a couple of our "holes" are not big, and that's all - steering pull-off / camber, front and rear stabilizer - "thin stick", my wife accidentally ran over the curb when parking at speed about “5“ km. (not high, didn’t even hook anything) and on you the front stabilizer left the bushings to the right by 2.5 centimeters steering wheel drift replacement of bushings (since the stabilizer slipped in them), descent / collapse, nomano, trifles, but not nice on a new car !!! The rear spring is sooooo soft even on a new car a couple of people sit at the back of 75 kg. and the body ("rear") sags to disgrace there are no hard springs on it, somewhere there is a "suplex" spring - but I haven’t steamed yet, I didn’t need dynamics and control much It depends on the workload alone with a passenger ok, more, everything becomes tight, it is especially felt if a couple of speaker bags are sitting in the back and in the trunk, the handling becomes worse (I do not mean a bag of potatoes and passengers under 100 kg. - 3 person and all-fact there is a fact that the dynamics are not the same, well, 1.5, no matter how, I do not say that it is terrible, but ... I am silent about ergonomics (height 174) - in principle, ok for this class, it will go, but the seat is a nightmare back and lower back whines and "begs" for mercy somewhere after 150 km. continuous drive (not only for me), although you set everything up correctly - "doing exercises while driving" ... approx. Low, no, no, you’ll hook something. I put the engine protection against dozens of "light-alloy" ones, I had to cut the grams, but it was worth it. The protection is light, durable and covers the entire engine. True, you have to shoot during maintenance (I don't want to make additional holes in it). In winter (somewhere from - 19) a wooden hodovka (the first 2-5 km.) - preferably after the engine warms up, and this is at least min. 10-15 get under way smoothly and let it warm up (do not catch holes, etc.) shock absorbers die instantly from impacts in frost (-20, -30 at speed), it is proven, and not only them. Also, in frosts, starting from -22, somewhere in the wind, the stove does not help, it blows barely, barely warm, it is really difficult to warm up in the car, on average, somewhere at least 10 minutes. it is necessary, after the engine has completely warmed up, so that the normal heat goes into the cabin, but if it goes, it can get hot and oxygen will burn out, but this is only up to -25 somewhere, then there is still cool air, but ok (I did not close the radiator, you can was, but I didn't want to). And before that, the stove fries uuuuhhhhh - a bath (if the cabin filter is clean, a lot depends on it (the air flow rate into the cabin) if it is clogged - even at the maximum adjustment speed - it will not blow more often or "flush" it, especially in summer sooooo necessary, the interior will not be so dusty, and in winter the windows will not sweat so much. What else from the negative can be strong longitudinal swing on the comb, shock absorbers and springs do not work well, you can fly off the trajectory in a moment do not drive on "bumps" !!! you will be quite often with active driving on bad roads (you don't need much), I am silent about comfort and that's all in principle.

In most markets, the model replaced the second generation "Accent", which is still produced at TagAZ. Moreover, it was called "Vernaya" only in Russia, in other countries it was the "Accent" of the third generation.

Most of the components and assemblies of "Verna" are borrowed from the previous model ( ZR, 2011, No. 8 ), but there are still differences: in particular, an electric amplifier is installed instead of the power steering. He most of all worries the owners.

AROUND FIVE HUNDRED

The mechanism with the ending 500 in the designation code is troubling even on a new car. He works too noisy: it creaks, then rustles, then crackles, or even sings like a nightingale. However, up to a certain point, he copes with his duties. The first failures of the EUR were noted with a run of 50-60 thousand km, when the steering wheel suddenly got up with a stake (most often this happened in hot weather). If the speed was low, consider yourself lucky.

It is not difficult to return the mechanism to normal: you need to turn off the ignition and take a short break. But the refusal can be repeated at any time!

Considering that the EPS error (this abbreviation stands for EUR) remained in memory, the dealers changed the unit under warranty. True, not always promptly, since very few people keep the EUR in the warehouse. Often, the delivery had to wait for months, and against the background of the prohibition of operation - a record of this is made in the diagnostic act. For the sake of a good cause it is not a sin to be patient, but ... instead of the removed mechanism, the dealers put exactly the same one. In fact, they changed the awl for soap - with the same capricious resistive moment sensors.

When the warranty for most cars came to an end, another problem arose: you could not buy a penny sensor separately (it was not supplied for spare parts), so you had to change an expensive assembly at your own expense.

FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE

Then the owners sounded the alarm, united on the forum of their club. It turned out that 38% of users have the same problem. This was confirmed by the residents of Ukraine - they counted as many as 57% of refusals. In Ukraine, "Verna" (that is, "Accent III") was more popular. It even started selling earlier than ours. A large part of the cars were used in taxis - with the corresponding mileage.

The Slavic brothers were the first to start fighting for their rights by contacting the representative office of Hyundai Motor Ukraine. Say, admit a design defect affecting safety, and replace the defective assembly free of charge even after the end of the warranty. Let not immediately, but justice prevailed: dealers were obliged to change the mechanism regardless of the year of manufacture and mileage if there was an error in the controller's memory. Moreover, they installed already modernized units: 56300-0N502 for the gasoline version and 56300-0N702 for the diesel one. Both have an optical sensor that does not drift.

And what about Russia? The club received a formal reply to the club's appeal to Hyundai Motor CIS (for the full text, see www .. The request of the ZR editorial office followed - the representative office was full of water at all, although over the past three months it was possible to sort it out. It turns out that the closer to the West, the the problems of motorists are being solved in a more civilized manner.

For reference: in addition to the aforementioned units on the "vernae", occasionally came across mechanisms with the ending 501 in the code, with an electromagnetic sensor. They are not involved in the main problem, but by 40-60 thousand km they often start knocking on bumps due to lack of lubrication in the intermediate clutch. The YSBB091105QQK grease itself, together with the work, is three orders of magnitude cheaper than an electric amplifier, therefore dealers often bred the client to replace the EUR: it is more profitable for them. But in Ukraine, lubrication is carried out without question and even the steering mechanisms are restored using the repair kit 56553-25000 (costs about 300 rubles).

AT THE ORIGINS OF "SOLARIS"

Another problem is shock absorbers. Relatives, the firm "Mando", can not cope with the buildup of the body, even being new. Especially for the rear passengers. On the waves of the pavement, the car wags its rear, now and then trying to slide off the trajectory. Perhaps, if Verna had become more widespread in Russia, this feature would have been noticed earlier. But until the super popular Solaris appeared with almost the same rear suspension (with a semi-independent H-beam, a similar weight distribution and similar shock absorbers, only installed at a different angle), the media and the owners were silent. The latter were simply looking for the most acceptable replacement options. We've tried Kayaba, Sachs, Monroe - it's all wrong. We stopped at "Horses": "8240-1115 Sport" rear assembly and "8610-1410 Sport" front. Dealers, alas, and in this matter were not in business - they changed under warranty only obviously faulty shock absorbers with smudges.

Among other things, with native shock absorbers, the resource of the struts and stabilizer bushings is almost half the life of the stabilizer struts and bushings: if from the "Koni" they nurture under 90 thousand, then from the "Mando" it is barely 50 thousand km.

The rear suspension, apart from the shock absorbers, is reliable. Brakes in the version without anti-lock braking system are drum, with it - disc. The resource of the pads is 90–100 thousand and 60–70 thousand km, respectively.

STATE OF AGGREGATION

They were supplied to the Russian market with one engine - the G4EE of the Alpha series. The unit is well known from the Getz and is reputed to be reliable. But sometimes, during a cold start, the idle speed can walk, hinting at low-quality fuel. The problem is solved by changing the filling point or, more radically, by replacing the firmware of the control unit from the base identifier TFE6I41 to the TFE6I42 modified for Russian realities.

There are no complaints about the manual transmission, which cannot be said about the clutch: either the pedal starts to creak, or the release bearing hums. Sometimes, by 50 thousand km, the noise became unbearable, forcing to change the entire unit. However, there are few such cases, after all, the clutch serves up to 100 thousand km. Keep in mind that the spare parts are supplied with remanufactured baskets, but they take care of the declared resource without problems.

In the machine, we regularly change the oil and put up with the slightly thoughtful operation of the unit. No other troubles were found.

The body is resistant to chemicals, you will hardly see rust on it. Sometimes paint peels off from the side moldings and from the plug in the bumper under the eyebolt, but this is rare. Sometimes dealers damaged the paint on the hinge bolts during the pre-sale adjustment of the clearances between the hood and fenders. Then prove that the car was not in an accident! And the additional alarm installed by the same dealers often fails.

Despite the fact that its twin brother Kia Rio was built on the basis of "Verna", the latter has no such problems. But there are others, which we will talk about shortly.

As for the typical problems, this is only clogging of the exhaust gas recirculation valves, this problem arises closer to 100 thousand km and is manifested by an unpleasant start of the power unit, an increase in smoke and a deterioration in traction. The problem is eliminated by cleaning the valve.
Gasoline units, in which the minders did not find typical problems, have proven themselves quite well in operation. The less powerful 1.4-liter engine is well known to many from the Hyundai Getz car and is considered reliable, but at times it can idle during a cold start, this happens if you fill it with low-quality fuel. In this case, you need to change the gas station, and a more radical method involves replacing the control unit firmware.
Timing belts on gasoline units should be changed every 60 thousand km, moreover, it is also advisable to install new attachment belts with them. But on the turbo diesel engine, instead of a timing belt, there is a durable chain.
On some used Hyundai Accent of the third generation, the corrugation of the exhaust system can burn out, this happens on runs of about 100 thousand km. You can print a non-original spare part.

But these are rare cases, and in general, the clutch usually lasts up to 100 thousand km.

Chassis. If the Accent's suspension is in good working order, then it is able to provide a normal ride on our far from ideal roads, it is considered moderately stiff. The electric power steering, which can adjust the degree of effort depending on the driving speed, was not too reliable. Even on new Hyundai cars, the owners' accent may be disturbed by the mechanism designated by the code 500, it works very noisy, it can crack, rustle, creak. The electric power steering begins to refuse at a run of 50-60 thousand km, there were cases when in hot weather the steering wheel suddenly became a stake. A used Hyundai Accent III is a good choice for pragmatic motorists who do not want to overpay buying more eminent brands, and the payment for this is a comfortable car that can please with its low price, quite friendly appearance and good configurations. The reliability of this vehicle is acceptable, and many of the problems have already been eliminated by the previous owners.

The seats of the Hyundai Accent III are not very good, even on the "nine" better. And this is some kind of "stool". I travel a lot and often, so for me the question of comfortable seats is very relevant. We are waiting for winter and frost, Hyundai Accent III will start at -30, then it will be possible to forgive minor flaws such as these "stool" seats or bumper clinging to curbs. Much needs to be improved. Especially regular music. Externally, Hyundai Accent III is pleasant, the design is "five". And I will put another "Mouzon". I want to note that the car is assembled well, however, a large gap is noticeable at the hood. But this is not such a serious drawback. I installed gas on the car. The equipment is good, Italian. The power has not diminished, all 112 "horses" are working. And it became much cheaper to refuel the car.
