What is done with mirror repairs?
This is sufficient if only the mirror glass is damaged. If the mirror body is OK and only the glass is broken, you have the option to change only the mirror glass. Changing glass is much cheaper than complete replacement external mirror. 
Trained garage workers can easily repair cracked glass from an outside mirror as long as the damage isn't too great. The mirror glass is thus freed from the outer edge of the mirror, without the mirror housing. The new mirror glass is placed in such a way that when pressed in it, the glass is immediately fixed in the corresponding holes.
The rest of the digital letters of the payload do not carry and will not help to find this glass (I tried it myself, it did not work!). It is easier to find glass from catalogs in electronic auto parts stores, for example, exist.ru and from there find out the part code. I did just that. The price of about 5 thousand rubles for a small piece of glass did not make me very happy and I turned to the side of the showdown.

Sold from disassembly said that it is not easy to install the glass, but I will figure it out. And I did figure it out. There are subtleties. They are all here, I tried to open them as wide as possible.
The glass installation algorithm is simple:
- disassemble the door;
- we remove all the fragments, the remains of the film and scotch tape (for some time I had to go without glass, I inserted a film instead);
- insert glass;
- collecting the door;
- testing and rejoicing!
Here I will immediately say that glass before installation need to wash... At disassembly on spare parts, they often write with a marker what it is, what it is for and where it is from. After the glass is installed, part of it may be under the rubber bands and it will be much more difficult to erase the inscriptions. But it is also possible, I checked :).
Windshield changes in detail
Before you can change the windshield, you need to cut old disk... After the attachments, such as the interior rearview mirror, have been removed, the cutter wire goes through the adhesive bond between the windshield and the body from which the adhesive bond is separated. Then the adhesive residue must be removed from the body. Before a new windshield can be used, the new windshield and shell must be prepared with a cleaner, primer and applicator.
We remove all the fragments. It is best to use an old vacuum cleaner for this. We are far from hiding the vacuum cleaner, there will be many more fragments.
We remove the remnants of scotch tape, film and everything that you (maybe) covered the place of the missing glass.
We disassemble the door. Oh, the interesting began. The door trim is attached with hooks, caps and three self-tapping screws. First, unscrew the bolts. All of them are hiding under plugs. One under the door opening handle (shiny, chrome-plated type), the second under the door closing handle.
This is followed by the order of the new adhesive layer. The new windshield can then be used and aligned. Once pressed, the vehicle should not be moved for at least two hours. The windshield replacement is then completed.
Moving from windscreens to heating is more expensive
Some windshields also have a built-in windshield defroster. In general, we can say that changing heated windshields is much more expensive. The higher costs are due to higher material costs and higher efforts to professionally install the disc. Here costs can quickly rise by a thousand euros. Window heaters also have the disadvantage that they usually cannot be repaired even with minor defects, but must be replaced immediately, which can reduce the cost of the car owner in the air.
The door in the photo is not mine. My door was without glass, but here it is with glass. It is not necessary to remove the door to replace the glass. With red arrows, I indicated the location of the self-tapping screws for fastening the skin. The bolts must be removed. It is better to use torx for this. But I didn't have torcs. I was lucky and I was able to unscrew them with a small screwdriver.
Windshield replacement - what did it cost me?
A large part of the cost of replacing a windshield is material costs. On the one hand, the windshield costs, depending on the design, already from 150 to 500 euros, on the other hand, even more necessary details appear, such as the cutting line, applicator, primer, cleaner, spacers and a special adhesive. With partial full insurance, you're in luck that the defective drive is largely intercepted by the insurance company. Only small franchises come to you.
The stone massif has many faces - but only two repair options. This is fast and can happen at any time, but is generally faster at high speeds off-road or on highways. Oncoming or oncoming vehicles swirl a small solid, which then falls with great force onto your vehicle. Even small stones develop high energy due to high speedwhich can affect the paint and car window. There is no intention behind it - it just happens.

A very interesting device. Now you need to carefully remove a part of the film from the upper right corner (it is on double-sided tape and, if it is not stained, it sticks well after the "operation") and unscrew the two large bolts. The bolts fasten the "bar", which is located between the movable glass and the fixed one. The fixed glass can only be inserted by sliding this "bar". Torex is needed again, but big. And again I was lucky, a large (wide) screwdriver came up :). The short arrows indicate the location of the bolts. Long arrow - direction of the "bar" shift:
As soon as the film is removed, we immediately knock out and pour out all-all-all glass fragments. Including from the inside of the door. If you leave the fragments, then another unpleasant "cricket" will start in the car, or even a whole bunch. In general, glass shards are a very disgusting thing. They are not visible, and the second-row sled no longer runs freely. I spent a fair amount of time vacuuming out the remaining glass and drove the second row back and forth many times to scrub the debris out of the sled. tempered glass... In addition, very small fragments can easily enter the skin of the hands. Therefore, we vacuum, wipe and, if possible, use protective gloves.
To move the bar, you have to sweat and at the same time not overdo it. You have to bend the movable glass folded down and pull the "bar" over it. There is a risk of crushing the moving glass. It can also be scratched with a "bar". The rubber seal of the moving glass could be torn. None of the above happened, but, in my opinion, there is a risk.

If the "bar" is brought far enough, we take the washed new-old glass and start it from the bottom up. Correct the position of the "bar" until the glass has crawled into place completely.
Brought glass, straighten the gum seals. Everything is fine now :). Most importantly, they took it apart. It will be possible to assemble without instructions. Finally, my favorite capacious phrase: " assembly is carried out in reverse order " :).
I started with clean hands. I ended up with such hands. Practice shows that protective gloves will not be in the way! Fortunately, there were no injuries to both hands and iron / glass. The whole procedure of disassembly, installation, assembly took 1.5 - 2 hours, along with rare photography. It is important that there is good lighting and a minimum of glass fragments. Vacuuming all places before. It took another half an hour. All operations were carried out independently.
On the Internet, people say that the bar can not be moved, but deprived of its support from above - by drilling a rivet. But for me this is an irreversible option. Here you have to be smart about what to put instead of the rivet. Therefore, I went in a longer way, but reversible. Burn and torment with tips in the comments! What I can - I will help.
