Outlander gt contrast compare with rivals. Mitsubishi Outlander GT - special version

"Kolesa" a little over a year ago already introduced you to the "three-liter", but then it bore the name Sport. Then, for a while, the most powerful of Mitsubishi's crossovers disappeared from dealerships and price lists. It turned out to be back under the name Outlander GT. What has changed?

At first glance, nothing. The same body, more like a station wagon off-road than the classic SUV, the same Dinamic Shield-style front end with powerful chrome "mandrels", as it were, squeezing the black lining of the lower part of the radiator grill, massive chrome crossbars in the upper part and sparkling "three diamonds". The same sharp horizontal stamping runs all along the bead, from the headlights to rear lights, and the same chrome moldings at the bottom of the doors, the same V6 nameplates on the fenders ...

So, the first innovation: a "shark fin" GPS antenna appeared on the roof. The GT nameplate on the fifth door - well, that goes without saying ... But these black round "plastic" parts of the cladding on the black crossbars were definitely not there. Oh yes, these are the sensors of the active cruise control system! Actually, they are also responsible for the operation of the FCM system (mitigating the consequences of incidental collisions). There were no video camera lenses on the bottom surface of the side mirrors. Everything? Perhaps all ...

... And a case instead of a hatch

There are also not too many differences inside, at least the general architecture of the cabin has not undergone any changes. All the same "light top, dark bottom", the same soft plastic front panel, the same stitched leather visor over the instrument cluster, all the same high-quality perforated leather seats and top). Remained the same abundance of black piano lacquer and neat plastic inserts under a dark wood.

The hatch disappeared, but as compensation a case for glasses appeared (moreover, ready to accept even a fair size telescopes, in which the turtle sang a song with the voice of Oleg Anofriev with a lion cub), as well as the inevitable "panic button" of the ERA-GLONASS system. But the buttons on the steering wheel spokes have clearly increased (new functions and systems need to be controlled, including the active cruise control and the video review system), as well as the number of buttons on the panel has increased. There are buttons that include steering wheel heating, blind spot control, heating windshield and a lane departure control system ... And, of course, a touch-screen media system. It now looks completely different because instead of mechanical keys and rotary handles, there are now only touch buttons.

What if Google isn't okay?

The system has the ability to integrate with a smartphone via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, but for some reason the navigation application, which can work without a network connection, was not installed on it. Of course, I immediately downloaded Android Auto to my Chinese and tried to work through it.

To do this, you need, firstly, to "register" the smartphone via bluetooth, and secondly, to connect it via USB. The only inconvenience in this whole story was that a rather long USB cable was required: the corresponding jacks are hidden in the armrest box, but it is still better to mount the phone somewhere on the front panel. When the Android Auto package is launched, all functions can be controlled through the touchscreen display of the car, but some manipulations with the phone will still be required in the beginning.

To my disappointment, it turned out that Android Auto does not “integrate” the car with all the applications installed on your smartphone, so my hopes of seeing raster maps in the Ozi Explorer program on the Yandex Navigator monitor vanished like morning fog over the Moskva River. Navigation only with Google Maps, music only with Google Play Music, but messenger messages, SMS and emails do pop up in separate windows on the screen.

So if you drive the Outlander GT to places where there is no cellular coverage, you will still have to turn on your smartphone or tablet in navigator mode. In this regard, the approach implemented by the Chery brand seems to me more promising (although the system itself is also not without drawbacks).

Sit higher, friend!

In general, judging by the number of plugs, the Outlander's saturation range with electronic driver assistants has not yet been exhausted. The button responsible for changing pages on the information display of the dashboard still hides from the driver behind the steering column switch, and as before, only the driver's seat is equipped with electric drives.

By the way, I am not very clear about the complaints of some journalists about the ergonomics of the Outlander, in particular, about the too high driver's seat. So in the car that I got for the test, a person who was completely accustomed to a "light" landing, apparently, drove before me, and for a long time I could not understand: what was it so uncomfortable for me, I set the right distance to the steering wheel ... But for now I did not raise the seat cushion to the proper height, my hands still took the position of "stretch out your palms to the sun." Raised the seat all the way - everything fell into place, while forward visibility improved, and the head did not stick to the ceiling (with an increase of 182 cm), and it became possible to put the left elbow on the "window sill", and the right one - to lean on the cover of the voluminous armrest box.

And I am still pleased with the spaciousness in the second row of seats, and the ability to adjust the angle of the backrest. Nevertheless, I have certain complaints about the "gallery". It's just that today the word "comfort" means not only leather upholstery and ample legroom. Passengers in the second row are deprived not only of the ability to regulate their microclimate, but also of any devices for connecting and charging mobile devices... Agree, in our time it is important, but it costs mere pennies. And it is these little things that determine the fact that a rather large, not the cheapest, solid-looking and generally well-equipped car, moreover, the only classmate sporting six cylinders instead of four cannot claim a place in the "premium" category, remaining , v best case, "Premium substitute".

Where is Sport?

Well, adjust the mirrors a little, the selector in Drive - can you go sailing? On city streets Outlander GT rolls solidly and with dignity, not provoking the driver to all sorts of pranks, but not interfering with energetic maneuvers and rearrangements. At the same time, what is pleasant, the engine and gearbox are in a state of absolute harmony, and under the pedal you can always feel a solid reserve of power. I have only one complaint about the box: the lack of a Sport mode. There is a "super-plushkin" "vegetable" Eco mode, there is a standard Normal mode, the selector has the L position (restricting shifting to upper gears), but there is no sport mode that provides switching at 5-6 thousand rpm.

Two more modes, Snow and Lock, refer not so much to the box as to the system. all-wheel drive and transmission in general. So if you want one hundred percent, to the last cube of the available three liters, to use all the capabilities of the V-six, switch manually using the paddles located on the steering column. By the way, you will really like the latter if you somehow leave the asphalt and find yourself in a situation where you need all the off-road potential of the crossover. Then the fact that the petals do not change their position when you turn the steering wheel will allow you to shift gears much more confidently simultaneously with energetic maneuvering and shifting the wheels "from lock to lock."

AWD animation

As for the work of the clever S-AWC all-wheel drive system, despite the fact that one of the pages of the information display is a visual animation of the current state of this system, it is very difficult to see its work in the city. For example, you can press the gas pedal heartily, throwing the car into a jerk on the Moscow asphalt well-watered with rain, and the scattering of transverse sticks in the central rectangle of the S-AWC diagram will also illustrate the intensity of the transfer of power to rear axle, and returning traction exclusively to the front wheels as speed increases.

But in order to observe how the electronically controlled active front differential works and how the system distributes the braking forces on the wheels in a corner, you need to do something completely awkward in the city. For example, to fly into an exit from the main road onto a backup at a speed of under eighty or refuel a car in a side passage at sixty.

No, all this luxury is not for the city, especially since there is no time to watch cartoons on the display during such maneuvers on the verge of a foul. It is for “ big trip", Where on your route you can meet winding forest paths, mountain serpentines, and dirt roads, and gravel graders ... And it is in these conditions that Outlander GT realizes all its capabilities. To be honest, with such excitement I “bludgeoned” the primers, fitting into their sharp bends, only on Subaru crossovers.

The main purpose

Curb weight

No, in town the Outlander GT is quite good and enjoyable. True, the declared consumption of 8.9 liters per hundred at mixed cycle and about 12.2 liters in the city does not exactly correspond to reality. The number 20.4 fixed by the camera lens is also not worth paying attention to (it reflects long work idling during shooting), but I also did not succeed in less than 15 liters.

But if you look closely, the Outlander GT is best suited for long trips with the family. Let's start with the trunk, which not only has a decent (though not champion) volume of 477 liters, but which has a storage box hidden under the raised floor with two compartments, where it will be so convenient to remove all sorts of little things that are always lost in the trunk. Plus, by folding the backs of the rear sofa, you can organize a completely full-fledged sleeping place in the car.

Trunk volume

It is on a long trip that all the advantages of active cruise control will appear. As a matter of fact, it can be used in the city, but in conditions of heavy traffic it is still not very convenient. Even if you set the distance to the vehicle in front to a minimum, you will still have a hefty window in front of you, into which everyone who is not too lazy will climb, and the automation will react to this with sharp braking. Again, the acceleration of the "electronic driver" will not be the same as you are used to: at first it is too sluggish, and only then, when your matelot has gone far enough, very intense. At traffic lights, the active cruise is triggered to a complete stop, but then, after a few seconds, it simply turns off, and the car (already without radar control of the distance) begins to crawl towards the bumper of the car in front. In general, if you want it or not, you will have to put your foot on the brake.

But on the track, an active cruise works quite adequately, allowing you to drive a much greater distance without signs of fatigue. The lane departure control system will also not hurt, especially on highways with normal markings. The blind spot monitoring system is more for the city, although I can easily imagine a situation in which it will prevent accidents with your participation on the highway. For example, you are going to overtake a truck, and at this time a certain Schumacher decided to make a double overtake and has already entered the blind zone ...

Fuel tank volume

In the city, the collision warning system turns out to be much more useful, lighting up in front of you a bright orange warning "Brake!" in cases where you start to get too close to other road users too quickly

Tourist, but not extreme

In principle, overtaking on the track will not cause you any problems and will not force you to burn nerve cells, which, as you know, cannot be restored (I have already written about the power reserve under the pedal). On a long journey, neither the suspension nor the noise will tire you, although in terms of sound insulation, Mitsubishi engineers still have something to work with. So, you generally hear the well-fed rumbling of a six only when you push the gas pedal from your heart, and this is a correct, noble sound (and not the squealing of four cylinders). But the wheel noise begins to penetrate into the cabin already starting from sixty kilometers per hour, although, in fairness, it remains within the permissible range and does not clog the music from the speaker system.

And yet the main thing is that the Outlander GT will help you to overcome any roads with honor, and even get to some places lying aside from the asphalt highways. Naturally, you should not consider him an uncompromising conqueror of slabs and meddle in a soggy timber track, but 215 mm of ground clearance, the ability to rigidly block the clutch and move only in lower gears, as well as the absolute equality of all three key indicators of geometric cross-country ability (angles of entry, exit and ramp ) allow you to feel very confident on light off-road. In any case, if you drove over an obstacle without hitting it with the front bumper, then the rear bumper will not hook it either, but in the most doubtful cases you can always press the button on the left steering wheel spoke, turn on the camera and see what is there in the car under the bumper and directly at the starboard side (well, on the left, you yourself can look, sticking your head out the window).

I have already mentioned the excellent behavior of the car on dirt and gravel roads. The only caveat is that you really shouldn't relax and drown "the whole piece of iron" on uneven roads, there is too much chance of not having time to slow down in front of some particularly prominent pit or pothole, and then a breakdown of the suspension tuned for comfort becomes simply inevitable ...

In good company

All in all, I hope you have no doubts that the Outlander GT wears a nameplate with two cheerful letters for good reason and is great for long journeys. Actually, the car has only two serious shortcomings: not the most low consumption and the price is 2,289,990 rubles. Such a price tag is already close to the boundaries of the premium segment: for example, Land rover Discovery Sport (agree, also a good choice for car tourism) is offered at a price of 2,680,000 rubles, and, say, Volvo XC60 - from 2,468,000. But let's leave the premium brands alone. The Outlander GT also has a lot of serious competitors in its "echelon". Yes, none of them can boast a V6 engine, but otherwise they are quite comparable.

Declared fuel consumption per 100 km

in a mixed cycle

8.9 liters

First of all, the new Mazda CX-5 is worth mentioning. This crossover with a 192-horsepower engine in the top Supreme configuration and a full set of options will cost 2,193,600, that is, almost 100,000 cheaper. Yes, its engine is somewhat weaker, but the G-Vectoring system is ideologically very similar to the S-AWC, there are also electronic driver assistants. There is no active cruise control, but there is a head-up display (which, by the way, would not hurt the Outlander - something I got used to recently to the possibilities it provides).

I have already mentioned the pleasure of Subaru crossovers on dirt roads with their boxer motors, symmetrical all-wheel drive, 220 mm ground clearance and X-Mode off-road mode. In this case, Forester 2.0XT with a 241 hp engine will act as a competitor. in the only Premium configuration available for it. It is curious that the proprietary code of such a car is GT! Naturally, it is more dynamic (acceleration time to 100 km / h is 7.5 seconds), but also significantly more expensive: such a car costs 2,599,900 rubles. Plus, the driver of the "turbo-forester" will have to rely mainly on himself (Subaru is in no hurry to introduce all kinds of "electronic help" on their cars), but the Lineartronic variator, although, without a doubt, is one of the best continuously variable transmissions, is far from always provides a linear response to pressing the gas pedal.

Finally, for 2,284,000 rubles you can get an excellently equipped VW Tiguan (220-horsepower TSI turbo engine, seven-speed DSG box, leather interior, Offroad package, active cruise control, a full range of electronic assistants, including a parking function and a media system with an App-Connect interface, allowing the integration of both iPhone and Android smartphone). Among the advantages, in addition to overclocking to “hundreds” in 6.5 seconds, I would note a very modest appetite for such parameters (8.4 liters per hundred in the combined cycle), a huge trunk with a volume of 615 liters, the presence of an inverter and a 220 V outlet and perfected controllability, characteristic for all vehicles on the MQB platform.

I deliberately left out bestsellers like the Toyota RAV4, Kia sportage and Hyundai Tucson, because with all the undoubted and very numerous advantages, they cannot make the Outlander GT a real competition either in power or in handling. But what I have listed is quite enough for our "big tourist" not to feel like a supernova in the void of space. However, in just a few days, I felt that I was completely intimate with this crossover, so I returned it with great regret and a feeling of some envy towards its future owners.

You will love the Mitsubishi Outlander GT if:

  • On vacation with your family, you are used to driving;
  • Your idols are Sebastien Loeb and Colin McRae, your favorite pastime is grabbing a grader;
  • In case of any doubt, you take a smartphone out of your pocket and say “Okay, Google!”;
  • You think that “you can't overtake everyone,” and you enjoy using active cruise control on your trips.

You don't like the Mitsubishi Outlander GT if:

  • Gran Tourismo for you is Ferrari Daytona and Lamborghini Gallardo, at worst - Jaguar XK;
  • You often travel to places where there is no cellular coverage;
  • Your wife is used to using the automatic parking function;
  • Your kids are used to playing something on their tablets on the road.

LANE DEPARTURE WARNING

LDW is an option for easy and safe operation. The lane markings and intersection indicator automatically recognizes your lane and, if you leave this lane, will give visual or voice signals when making a maneuver without turning on the turn signals.

ACC

The adaptive cruise control system is an indispensable assistant on the road. Just set your speed and the ACC will automatically keep you moving within it, while maintaining the set distance and automatically reducing the speed if your car gets too close to the one in front.

FCM

Situations on the road are difficult to predict, sometimes they pose a serious danger. Therefore, the new Mitsubishi Outlander GT received a head-on collision mitigation system among the updates. If there is a risk of this hazardous situation, the system will warn you about this with audible and visual signals. If a collision is imminent, emergency braking will be automatically applied.

Mitsubishi Outlander GT 2017 is the highest achievement of the concern in the line of civil four-wheel drive cars... The novelty has one of the most powerful gasoline engines among the brothers from Mitsubishi, modern features and safety systems, with attention being equally paid to both passive and active safety driver and passengers. It uses advanced technologies in electronics, intuitive and easy-to-use assistance systems are created to help you, surround you with comfort and care, and prevent dangerous situations on the road.

By releasing civilian cars, the manufacturers of the concern supplemented them maximum number options and systems. Under the guise and price of production cars, consumers received significantly more than was required from such cars. Thanks to this, in the sixties of the last century, one of the first serial japanese cars Mitsubishi 500 won the Grand Prix and the highest calling in Macau. The best traditions of the Japanese car industry are reflected in the iconic Lancer and Pajero, Galant and Colt, which were initially positioned as civilians and collected a huge number of awards at auto shows and festivals. The powerful spirit of speed and power is still embodied in the new Mitsubishi products. Keeping the best features of the classics, cars are constantly being supplemented with new options and capabilities.

SUPER ALL-WHEEL CONTROL

Such a system has not yet been created for any car, except for Mitsubishi models. The special manufacturability of the S-AWC all-wheel drive is an asset and distinctive feature GT. This is not a set of angles and mechanisms, but a real masterpiece of engineering, based on thrust vector control.

To create this unique solution, Mitsubishi engineers implemented three ways to accomplish a complex and unusual task. They are reflected in the already cult Lancer evo, the modern Outlander PHEV and the dynamic 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander GT.

The technology of intelligent all-wheel drive is different for these cars, but all three options for individual transmission of torque to each wheel guarantee ease and control and maneuverability of the car on any road surface. The technology impressed the engineers so much that they built a full-fledged racing car Outlander PHEV, which has participated in rallies in Australia and Asia on several occasions.

SCHEME S-AWC - the latest technology for ease and reliability in control

Another system that turns driving pleasure - S-AWC - is based on the principle of connecting all-wheel drive in the iconic Lancer Evolution. Have new Outlander Sport electric power steering (EPS) and steering braking system provide the ability to control the cornering moment, which gives the highest grip and handling in sharp turns.

The highly accurate automatic cornering signaling system allows precise and precise cornering, reduces the risk of under- or over-cornering and gives the pilot control and ease of control.

S-AWC uses vehicle torque and wheel speed and steering angle data to "understand" whether the vehicle is cornering, slowing down or picking up speed to give the driver intuitive feedback and ease of handling.

S-AWC significantly differs from classic all-wheel drive systems in another distinctive feature. The so-called angular velocity of the vehicle is also taken into account here. Thanks to this data, the function helps to keep the vehicle in the chosen path. To do this, using special sensors, it will compare the actual direction of travel and, based on the steering wheel angle, the direction planned by the driver. in order to control and correct it if necessary.

ECO
Economy mode

When driving in the city flat road one axle drive (2WD) will be used without obstacles. If the road surface requires all-wheel drive or there is a risk of slipping, the system will automatically switch the transmission to all-wheel drive mode.

NORMAL
Normal mode

If you select this mode, the torque will be automatically distributed between all wheels. It depends on the traffic conditions and the characteristics of the road surface.

SNOW
Snow

Snow or ice will no longer complicate control thanks to this mode. Optimal traction and traction on slippery surfaces will ensure an easy and safe ride.

The 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander GT model belongs to premium crossovers of this brand. And, although it does not look too different from other models of the same series (except for the small GT emblems), the number of options and the speed characteristics of the car are noticeably improved. Therefore, both in the review of the model and in the description of some of its features, noted on the test, will mainly describe its advantages over previous versions and other modifications.

Exterior crossover

Minor changes appearance Outlander are connected with the fact that too little time has passed since the last restyling of the car. This means that the design of the car, with its headlights and bumpers updated back in 2014, remains relevant and stylish to this day. And it is quite capable of competing with the exterior of its main rivals - Jeep Cherokee 3, and Infiniti QX50.

However, despite the fact that the new JT is almost no different from the options three years ago, you can notice the changes. True, for this you have to place two photos side by side - the old and the updated crossover. This is the only way to notice that the new car, which received the same sharp horizontal stamping, chrome moldings, V6 nameplates and a massive radiator grille on the front, has its own characteristics. Including, a fin antenna on the roof of the Mitsubishi GT, and round black cruise control sensors on the plastic elements of the body. In addition, the previous Outlander model did not have video cameras on the side mirrors.

Vehicle interior

There have been slightly more changes in the interior of the new Mitsubishi Outlander GT than on the outside. Although the interior styling remains the same - a lighter upper and darker lower, a soft plastic dashboard, a stitched visor over the instruments and leather seats. Due to the fact that the GT modification is top-end and, at the same time, the only one, leather in the interior is assumed by default. As well as a large amount of varnish covering the surfaces of the interior, and plastic inserts "under the tree".

In the top-end configuration of the series, the hatch characteristic of the most expensive Outlander of the last generation has disappeared. But there was a compartment for glasses, which can fit this accessory of any size. The car has also added buttons on the multifunctional steering wheel - now from it you can control not only the multimedia system, but also the heating of the steering wheel itself and the windshield, blind spot cameras and lane change control sensors.

The size of the rear of the cabin is so large that there is enough space for all three passengers who can fit in the second row of seats. The luggage compartment of the new JTs can also become quite large if unfolded rear seats- from 477 liters, its volume increases to 1.64 cubic meters. Moreover, the Outlander chairs can be folded in two ways - by making the backs lower or by expanding the cargo space to the maximum size.

Technical specifications

One of the main advantages of JT over other versions is power unit- the new modification is equipped with a 3-liter engine with a capacity of 227 liters. with. Together with it comes a 6-band "automatic", thanks to which the test drives of the model show quite decent results of cross-country ability and handling. The car easily accelerates to hundreds, taking only 8.7 seconds, and can reach speeds of 205 km / h.

Continuing the review of the car, it is worth noting its not too low gas mileage. According to the technical documentation for a car, the average consumption is about 12.2 liters. However, the test results showed that it is not always possible to achieve a level below 13 liters even on the highway.

One of the other serious differences of the GT Mitsubishi Outlander modification from the basic crossover options is the all-wheel drive, which even meets the requirements of higher-class cars. The top-end version of the transmission includes an active front differential that distributes traction between the sides and allows the car to adhere to a given trajectory. Thanks to the same feature, decent ground clearance and powerful bumpers, the new cars also have good off-road characteristics.

Tab. 1. Characteristics of the car.

Configuration and cost

The only complete set in which new Gee Ti, the following options are included:

  • systems of adaptive cruise control, tracking the transition to another lane and warning of a head-on collision with an obstacle;
  • several all-round cameras;
  • LED headlights;
  • heated steering wheel and seats - as tests have shown, this option increases the comfort of people in the front seats, even in severe frosts;
  • premium audio and multimedia system that supports Apple CarPlay;
  • leather and electric drives for seats, mirrors and tailgate.

You can buy a GT crossover for 2.3 million rubles. This amount is quite consistent with the price category of premium trim levels of other models of the Japanese brand. And not much different from the price of the most equipped European mid-range hatchbacks.

The unique S-AWC all-wheel drive mechanism is the main distinguishing feature of the GT crossover, which has no analogues in its class. This system of intelligent distribution of torque between the axles, based on the use of auto thrust vector control. This technology was implemented in three different versions, each of which solved specific engineering problems. A similar system was used in the legendary Lancer Evo and Outlander PHEV, and today it is included in the price of the Mitsubishi Outlander GT in a new body. S-AWC technology provides individual transmission of torque to each individual wheel, guaranteeing perfect driving stability and excellent handling on any road surface. Outlander-based PHEV racing car confirms the unrivaled drive capability. Driven by factory racer Hiroshi Masuoka, he has experienced challenging rally raids on several continents and won the Dakar Rally twice. Want to enjoy the benefits of S-AWC all-wheel drive? We recommend that you take a test drive and buy a Mitsubishi Outlander GT in the ROLF YUG sales salon.

LDW: Lane Departure Warning recognizes the lane of the car and, in the event of an attempt to leave it without a turn signal turned on, notifies the driver using sound and visual indications.

ACC: Adaptive Cruise Control automatically maintains the speed set by the driver and maintains a distance with the vehicle in front, automatically decelerating the crossover.

FCM: the system mitigates the consequences frontal impact independently detecting the risk of an accident and activating the brakes to slow down the vehicle.

Innovative all-wheel drive transmissions, the most powerful gasoline engines, advanced passive and active protection, numerous electronic assistants capable of providing the maximum level of comfort and giving true driving pleasure - important arguments to buy new mitsubishi Outlander GT 2018 of release in Moscow in the ROLF YUG showroom.

Features of the device and operation of the S-AWC

This system is based on the all-wheel drive used in the legendary Lancer Evolution. It was also used in the Outlander Sport model, where, with the assistance of power steering (EPS) control, brakes and active front differential (AFD), it ensured optimal distribution of torque between the front wheels for the most reliable traction.

By deciding to buy a Mitsubishi Outlander GT from an authorized dealer, you can personally see the effectiveness of the S-AWC. Thanks to precise system Signaling, this technology will provide perfect cornering, eliminate excessive or insufficient maneuverability and give the feeling of complete control over the behavior of the car.

Taking into account the data on the amount of torque, the force of pressing the accelerator pedal, the rotation of the wheels and steering angles, the S-AWC accurately determines the deceleration or acceleration of the car, as well as the direction of its trajectory - turning or driving in a straight line. This principle of operation guarantees good feedback from the machine.

Unlike other all-wheel drive systems, this technology additionally takes into account angular velocity car. This allows you to more accurately keep the car within the trajectory defined by the driver. First, the S-AWC compares the actual direction of travel (signals from the lateral and longitudinal acceleration sensors) with the planned (indicators of the steering angle sensors), and then corrects the deviations.

All wheel drive S-AWC included in Mitsubishi price Outlander GT in a new configuration, works in several modes:

ECO: in normal road conditions uses only one axle (2WD), but in case of slipping, it quickly switches to four-wheel drive (4WD);

NORMAL: the distribution of torque is carried out between all wheels, taking into account the driving conditions;

SNOW: Creates an optimal level of traction to the wheels when driving on slippery surfaces, such as ice or snow;

LOCK: increases cross-country ability when driving on difficult sections, and also improves handling on normal roads at any speed;

Deciding to buy new Mitsubishi The 2018 Outlander GT allows you to choose the right mode yourself, and the S-AWC system automatically adjusts the parameters of the car for maximum efficiency. This technology will improve dynamics in all conditions, including slippery road or a strong crosswind.

Favorable cost, full service and a wide range of options - the official dealer of Mitsubishi Outlander GT ROLF YUG will offer you Better conditions for buying a car!

Quick jump to sections

Sales have recently started in Russia crossover Mitsubishi Outlander GT, where the last letters denote not, but the performance version. Nevertheless, this variant of the Mitsubishi Outlander GT boasts quite good equipment, including the mode automatic switching from high beam to low beam, all-round visibility system and the ability to prevent collisions. The most important feature of the special version is that the Outlander GT has a three-liter 227-horsepower V6 engine under the hood, coupled with a 6-band automatic transmission.

Most of modern cars, which mainly surround us in the traffic flow, are cut according to common patterns. Comparing them technical characteristics often resemble a children's game called "Find the Differences" between two almost identical pictures.

Against this background, it is not difficult to be original, but few dare to do so. For example, among mid-size crossovers, the vast majority are equipped with 4-cylinder engines. Therefore, the Mitsubishi Outlander GT 2018 with a six-cylinder engine turns out to be an original exception to the general rule.

The 2018-2019 Mitsubishi Outlander GT model has a rich background, because even the very first generation, the production of which started at the very beginning of this millennium, in 2002, acquired a special version of the Turbo R. In Japan, it was equipped with a 240 hp Lancer Evolution engine.

The second generation car was produced with a three-liter modification. In addition, in 2006, at one of the American exhibitions, the Evolander concept was shown, with a supercharged 3-liter engine producing 300 hp. There was talk about the start of mass production, but it did not work out. The current model is the third generation. If before there was a Sport version with a 3-liter 230 hp engine, now there is a modification of the Outlander GT.

We open the hood and see nothing new

Under the hood of the Mitsubishi Outlander GT is the old, well-known naturally aspirated 6-cylinder 3.0-liter Mivec V6 engine. Now its power is 227 hp, at 3 hp. less than the Sport version had. The torque is 291 Nm, one Newton meter less than the Sport version. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission gear.

The drive is full, and the S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control) system is installed on the Mitsubishi Outlander GT. Its key difference is the front differential lock. It is electronically controlled. In addition, the driver's assistants, such as the stability control system and the ABS, are also integrated into a single system. steering and everything else. Thanks to this, the Outlander GT 2018, on the one hand, from the position of the steering wheel understands where the driver wants to go. On the other hand, based on information from all other sensors, he understands where the car is actually moving and tries to combine these two trajectories.

What is Mitsubishi S-AWC all-wheel drive?

The advantages of this all-wheel drive system are manifested on bad, and on good roads with a relatively high-quality road surface, preferably asphalt. Along with the conventional all-wheel drive system available on the Mitsubishi Outlander GT, a so-called steering torque control (AYC) system is added. in this case, the brakes of all four wheels are controlled by the control electronics, each of which is controlled separately. On the basis of its calculations, the electronics provide an effective force to the electric power steering so that the distribution of torque between the left and right wheels would be more correct. ...

We look into the cargo hold of the Mitsubishi Outlander GT

The fifth door of the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander GT is equipped with an electric drive. As for the volume of the cargo compartment, it is 477 liters, which can be called the average for cars of this class. If we take Subaru Forester or, for comparison, their trunk size is about the same.

There is, of course, lighting in the trunk and a 12-volt socket. A set of tools is hidden behind the hatch. Among the curious features, it is worth noting an organizer located in the underground of several compartments for small things, which is really convenient. In addition, if there is a lot of luggage and the luggage curtain begins to interfere, then you can not just pull it out, but put it in a special place intended for it, which is also very convenient.

Outlander GT on the road

Since the GT nameplate flaunts on the rear door of the Mitsubishi Outlander GT 2018, you should find out the dynamic capabilities of the car. Acceleration from zero to 100 km / h takes 8, 7 seconds. By modern standards, this is not a record, nevertheless, against the background of classmate cars, this is a rather fast car.

However, it is impossible to call the Mitsubishi Outlander GT nimble, since the gearbox sometimes turns out to be unhurried. Fortunately, there is the ability to slightly cheer it up with the large paddle shifters. The maximum speed is 205 km / h, which is not bad at all for a crossover. As for fuel consumption, according to the automaker, it should fit into 8.9 liters per 100 kilometers.

The AWD system provides four modes of operation: Economy, Normal, Normal, Snow and Lock. In the latter, the clutch is blocked and a kind of off-road mode is obtained. The suspension of the Outlander GT 2018 is not bad, because pits, bumps, primers do not scare him. At the same time, he himself is sometimes capable of scaring the driver. Because in ruts or in pits, the steering wheel sometimes tries to drive the car on its own, without consulting the driver. We have to hold it tight.

About configuration and prices

The price range for the Mitsubishi Outlander GT is small. If the Mitsubishi Outlander is in basic equipment Inform is available for 1.5 million rubles, the charged version of the GT will cost the buyer 2.3 million rubles. At first it seems a lot, but we have to see what it can be compared to. The Outlander GT has active cruise control. In fact, very good thing because the usual cruise control in Russia, with its ragged rhythm of movement on the highways, is not very useful.

Another thing is the active cruise control of the Mitsubishi Outlander GT, which knows how to maintain a distance. There is a heated steering wheel and heated windshield. This is very important for Russia. Of course, there are heated seats and an all-round visibility system, which is also far from superfluous for such a rather big car.

The Outlander GT can be compared to that equipped with a two-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 240 hp. Yes, that car is more playful, but it is 300 thousand more expensive. You can remember or, but a truly direct analogue of the Outlander GT is still, for which they also offer Gas engine V6 with 272 hp But there the appearance, as they say, is not for everybody. V general choice is, but against the background of its competitors, the Mitsubishi Outlander GT looks like one of the most interesting options.
