Good day. I have never written reviews about cars, but, having become the owner of a new Hyundai Tussan, I decided to write an essay. Having already purchased a car, I collided with complete absence constructive forums on it.

You have to climb the branches of the Sportage forums to find the information you need. Probably, Hyundai owners are more vegetable-like (there was a Volkswagen earlier, there forums are full of various interesting solutions, analogues of spare parts, etc.).

I will also note the difficulties with finding partners for parts for the third generation Tussan. So why this particular car?

The choice was long and difficult. After three years of operation, the Volkswagen Polo (1.6, automatic, climate, Style equipment, mileage of about 53,000 km, was serviced only at the service), it was decided to replace the car with a "higher class" and, preferably, a crossover.

After the first detour of car dealerships, the eye fell on the Skoda Kodiak - excellent family car! Having calculated the income, I had to admit that it was too expensive for the desired configuration, more than 2.2 million rubles came out. and wait for it for about three months. Also scared off new conveyor on assembly in Russia (it seems like Kodiak is being assembled on the Jetta line now).

But this is a great car, it goes like a ship, smoothly, roll, two-liter turbocharged engine paired with a seven-speed DSG make it agile and confident. In general, I have not found a better car for myself in terms of comfort and dynamics. So Kodiak remained an unattainable dream.

The Volkswagen Tiguan disappeared somehow at once, it costs more than the Kodiak, but there is no place and comfort in it, the rigid suspension also depressing. Mazda CX5, which for a long time was the dream of his wife, upon closer examination, also did not suit us.

Somehow everything is boring around you in the cabin, as if this car was pulled over you. Plus there is not enough space, I pulled my knees behind me. We are tall comrades. In favor of Mazda, I would like to note the electronic equipment and the suspension.

Toyota RAV4 on a two-liter engine with a variator is a tractor. The engine screams with such force that it is not audible behind the wheel, as the passengers from the back rows are talking about. The 2.5 liter engine is already better, but the price tag increases, and the equipment of the car is poor by no means.

We also took a ride on the new Camry - impressed (only the handling was not pleasant, there is no steering clarity, after 140 km / h it starts to float on the road - the Germans don't have that), in a suitable configuration it came out under 1.9 million rubles. I did not consider other manufacturers - the soul does not lie with them.

At first, the Korean car industry did not consider it at all. But one day we decided to drive along salons Kia and Hyundai, compare Sportage and Tussan. On a test drive, the Sportage seemed less dynamic, the trunk also seemed smaller, although it seemed to be the same displacement as Tussan. But he was pushed away by something else - his wife instantly felt seasick in him.

Impression

After driving a new Hyundai Tucson 3 the impression was positive, but there was a feeling that something was missing. They could not answer the question of what exactly. I will note that I am indifferent to the appearance of the car, I need internal ergonomics, reliability of the chassis and engine.

But the wife needs appearance, which she liked in Tussana. She also wanted a typewriter white, which was not available. As a result, the manager filled our emptiness "something is missing" with a discount of 50 tr. and additionally threw off 15 tr. per color.

So we became the happy owners of a two-liter four-wheel drive Tussan with automatic transmission gears in the Lifestyle package for 1.6 million rubles. The purchase was spontaneous, all included technical details not useful.

At the time of buying next car In general, I will not read the technical documentation, I will only clog my head. That is how I bought a Polo before the crisis, without seeing the car, bought it over the phone to add money.

What is the name of the car. So I did not figure it out Tucson or Tussan. Tucson cuts his ear, so for us he is Tussan. Since the previous car was a Polo, I will compare with it. Negative points in the operation of Polo:

1. Awful, very awful light. You ride like a mole in the dark.

2. Cold car. At idle, the salon is not heated at all.

3. Little space in the cabin. I will mention again, we have a big family.

4. Ergonomics of the seats. On small trips, there is no discomfort, but after long distances, the back turns into a bagel and goes numb.

5. Short-stroke front suspension. Punches on all the bumps (here I compare with the former Renault Logan, who swallowed 10 cm of the hole for hello).

6. Constantly creaking stabilizer bushings.

Of the pros:

1. Wonderful Volkswagen service (at first there were incidents, of course, but then a competent locksmith was assigned and life improved). Hassle-free warranty repair the first time the creaking bushings of the stabilizer were replaced, the second time the fogging side gasket was replaced.

2. Heated windshield.

3. Sufficient dynamics, the engine with an automatic transmission responded quickly, did not feel any problems during overtaking. In the absence of traction, the box breaks the transmission.

4. Excellent handling, the steering wheel is clear, sharp, you can release it at any speed, the car goes smooth.

Having driven a brand new Tussan and giving it to him after running in and carrying out zero maintenance, such impressions were formed.

1. The speakers are clearly not enough, although the engine can. Spins for a long time before the jerk. When it spins, it pulls normally. In Drive (Sport) mode, it picks up and consumes gasoline more confidently.

2. Permanent transmission is a very dubious decision, release the gas pedal and engine braking begins.

3. I really liked the brakes, it literally bites into the ground of the car. The Polo was long braking distances, creaking ABS and a couple of emergency moments when you press the brake pedal, but there is no effect.

4. Climatic installation cools the air in a moment.

5. Plenty of space in the cabin.

6. Driving on curbs. We roll calmly.

7. Warm steering wheel and heating rear seats... It's a pity there is no complete heated windshield.

8. Quiet salon. Only the rear arches make noise, I will paste over them in the spring.

9. The seats are wonderful, with an adjustable lumbar section. We haven't skated long distances yet. At a distance of 200 km, the back does not get tired. The backrests recline, it is comfortable not only for us, but also for the child.

We will recognize the warmth in the cabin with the arrival of winter, it is not long to wait. Already in the morning, plus 8-12 degrees. The light is also not clear, it gets dark still late. I also did not check the off-road qualities of Tussana - they will be useful in our operation only in loose snow.

I will describe the first impressions of the servicemen later. Experts hike so-so.

Hyundai Tucson has always been in the leading position of the top sales of crossovers in Russia and was recently updated in March. At the New York Auto Show, a restyled 3rd generation model is shown, which at first glance seems to be a new generation.

The changes affected the exterior, interior and, most importantly, the technical part, which rarely happens on restyling. Even before the review itself, it should be said that this is a full-fledged job, and not a cheap marketing ploy to raise interest and increase sales.

Design

The first thing the buyer pays attention to is appearance. Here, when viewed from afar, it seems that the bumper and headlights have been slightly adjusted, but looking closer it is clear that there are much more changes.


In front, we observe a high smooth hood, emphasized by narrow diode optics. Daytime running lights will always be on LEDs, and diode optics with washers appear with the Lifestyle package.

In the center, a new chrome-plated radiator grille emphasizes the aggressive style, again, chrome will only be in top-end versions, the base Hyundai Tussan 2018-2019 will receive a silvery plastic edging. The massive bumper has got more muscular forms, stylish foglights, which are installed already in the base and a small plastic protection.


Extension changes are visible on the side wheel arches, a change in the style of the upper aerodynamic line and essentially everything. The top line originates from the front arch, passes over the door handles, and near the rear handle is divided into two, passing into the upper and central part of the rear optics. Chrome on the door handles also appeared only in expensive trim levels, as well as the lower edging of the glass.

Behind, we see a more familiar shape, but retouched. The optics style has changed, becoming smoother, but with aggression due to narrowing. The boot lid is swollen and the bumper is flatter. The electric boot lid will appear only in top trim levels.


The dimensions of the body have practically not changed:

  • length - 4480 mm;
  • width - 1850 mm;
  • height - 1655 mm;
  • wheelbase - 2670 mm;
  • ground clearance - 182 mm.

Well, the changes are serious, there are many of them and all gave the appearance a freshness. The crossover will now be more visible on the road, the aggressive styling of the Hyundai Tucson will help attract young buyers to the manufacturer and is unlikely to upset the adult audience.


The palette of colors is slightly touched upon. Proposed:

  • white - basic;
  • bright red - basic;
  • brown;

  • red;
  • dark green;
  • gray metallic;
  • light beige metallic;
  • silver metallic;
  • dark blue metallic;
  • dark blue metallic.

Heavily modified interior


The interior architecture has not been touched, but the style has become more modern. We see the same dashboard split into 2 parts, but now it is more bloated and muscular. In some trim levels central part the dashboard is sheathed in carbon.


The seats remain the same, in the base they are mechanically adjustable and upholstered in fabric. In expensive trim levels, leather and electrical adjustments appear. The color of fabric or leather can be chosen, black and beige are available. There is an ordinary sofa at the back, there is enough free space, plus there is a folding armrest with two cup holders.

As an option, there is a huge panorama on the roof, which can be fully enjoyed by the rear passengers.


The 3-spoke steering wheel of the 2018-2019 Hyundai Tussana with leather trim and multimedia control buttons has not changed at all. Little touched dashboard, the visualization has changed, and so it still consists of 2 analog sensors and an informative 4.2-inch on-board computer in the center.

The top center console has a new 8-inch display for the infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Below is the same separate climate control unit with a monitor and washers. We changed the tunnel, a platform for a smartphone with wireless charging appeared in front of the gear selector lever. On the tunnel there is a gearshift lever, two cupholders and several buttons for setting driving modes.



The trunk remained unchanged, in the initial state the volume is 488 liters, and with the rear sofa folded down 1478 liters. Under the floor there is a full-length spare wheel and a repair kit.

The lineup of power units has not changed, three engines are also proposed:

  1. R2.0 Diesel - diesel 2-liter turbo engine with 185 horse power and 400 H * m of torque. The engine consumes 8 liters in the city and 5.4 on the highway. Dynamics is equal to 9.5 seconds and 201 km / h maximum speed;
  2. Gamma 1.6 Turbo-GDI D-CVVT is a 1.6-liter gasoline unit for the 2018-2019 Hyundai Tucson, producing 177 horses and 265 units of torque. Passport consumption is 9 liters in the city and 6.5 liters on the highway. Maximum speed at the same mark, and acceleration to hundreds is 9.1 seconds;
  3. The Nu 2.0 MPI D-CVVT is a turbocharged 2-liter gasoline engine that produces 150 horsepower and 192 units of torque. Here, the consumption is already higher - 10.7 liters in the city and 6.3 liters on the highway. The maximum speed does not exceed 186 km / h, and the acceleration to hundreds is a maximum of 10.6 seconds.

A pair for the motors is a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed hydromechanical automatic, or a 7-speed robot for a 1.6-liter engine. The torque on most trim levels is transmitted to the front axle, but there are all-wheel drive modifications, working through the HTRAC control system.

Suspension, brakes and steering of the new Tussana

Regardless of the configuration, the car stands on an independent suspension with stabilizers lateral stability on two axes. The front axle is MacPherson, the rear is a multi-link. The handling has become better, in addition to the suspension itself, electronic systems help in handling.

The crossover stops due to disc brakes ventilated on the front axle. Steering rack and pinion with electric booster. Because of this, the information content is not the best, but still not bad. The number of turns of the steering wheel is 2.51, the turning radius is 5.3 meters.


Security

The manufacturer has installed many systems to ensure the safety of movement:

The Hyundai Tucson SUV in its third incarnation, whose predecessor was known in Russia and Europe under the name ix35, made its official debut in 2015 - at the March car show in Geneva (although its preliminary premiere took place a month before this event in Berlin). The car has surpassed the previous model in all respects - it has become larger, more beautiful, more powerful and technologically advanced.

In April 2018, at the International New York Auto Show, the premiere of a restyled off-road vehicle took place, which slightly "refreshed" in appearance, received a thoroughly redrawn interior decoration and received new equipment.     In combination with a 7-band "robot" with two clutches and an all-wheel drive transmission, it provides the car with 201 km / h of maximum capabilities, acceleration from standstill to 100 km / h in 9.1 seconds and the "passport" consumption of 7.5 liters.
  • The third "release" of Hyundai Tucson is completed and diesel installation - 2.0-liter "direct" turbo engine, in the bins of which has 185 horsepower (at 4000 rpm) and 400 Nm of thrust, produced in the range from 1750 to 2750 rpm. For him, exclusively automatic transmission for eight gears and all-wheel drive are put.

It's cold in the cabin in winter. When the temperature on the display is set to 25 or more, in a standing position, the temperature on the instrument panel drops very quickly.

The noise insulation of the wheel arches, especially the rear ones, is very weak. In the rear of the cabin, something constantly clicks, claps, distracts attention from the road.

My height is 187 cm, I feel quite comfortable behind the wheel of the new Hyundai Tussan 3, and surprisingly sitting behind me is also comfortable and not constrained. There is enough space in the cabin for all passengers. The only drawback is the small trunk (the stroller has difficulty in getting in), but I think this is a problem with most modern crossovers.

The review is excellent, in large mirrors everything is clearly visible. The steering wheel turns very easily. The car is controlled obediently and responsively. The work of the suspension as a whole is moderately stiff, but this is good, rolls are not observed and the road holds confidently.

As for the engine and dynamics, the throttle response is enough in the city for the eyes. Consumption of 14 liters and more, depending on how you drive. The box switches smoothly. Noise isolation on a solid four, a little rumble is heard from the front arches.

Now about the cons. I still can't figure out if a 1,700,000 car didn't deserve to have at least one electric driver's seat !? (Travel package). Guys, there are "twists" there, like a nine! Not even leverage. I'm not nitpicking, it was just that this money could have been saved on something else.

The owner drives a Hyundai Tussan 2.0 (150 hp) on a 2016 automatic.

The handling of the new Tussan is at its best! The steering wheel is very precise, the car is obedient. The noise is good, the cabin is quiet, there are no crickets at all! The landing is comfortable, the steering wheel is adjustable in height and reach, which is very convenient. The driver's seat has an electric lumbar arch adjustment.

The seat back tilt adjustment device strained - an ordinary twist. We could have just made a lever. But I was pleased with the spare full-size wheel on a titanium disc. The torpedo is also pleasing to the eye. Everything in its place and within easy reach. The dashboard is cute. The menu is in Russian, everything is simple and straightforward + many options.

It is very pleasant when the manufacturer pays attention to the little things, such as hooks for clothes, setting the locking and unlocking of doors, delaying the turning off of headlights, etc.

Of course, there is also negative. Firstly, I was surprised that the ignition key can be pulled out at any position of the automatic transmission lever. I was the first Korean, before that there were only Japanese, and so on the Japanese the ignition key could be pulled out only when the automatic transmission lever was in the “P” position.

Secondly, the suspension travel is short, I think that it can affect the cross-country ability of the car in winter.

I like the dynamics of the car, the appearance is just super, especially the design and light side lights combined with a massive radiator grille. The salon is spacious. It is comfortable to sit both for the driver and for all passengers. The backrests of the rear row of seats are tilt-adjustable. The trunk is roomy, there is a pull-out shelf, side niches.

Then it works up to 40 km / h, then it turns off, when the speed decreases, it turns on again. Checked a little in the snow for summer tires - rides).

On the suspension - the machine is knocked down and not too roll, not too stiff - that's it. We drove on a dead road, the cabin is quiet, there are no crickets. Another plus of the car - it is not going to be with us (cars come from Poland).

Having traveled 40,000 thousand, I only changed oils and filters according to the regulations and maintenance, no problems were observed, only ONE - in frost (or after washing in the cold) the driver's door sensor stops working, that is, it is actually closed, but it shows on the monitor that not! I stopped by the dealer twice, but he didn’t say anything to me and will not say anything like that.

In terms of fuel consumption in the city - 12.0 liters, on the highway it shows 7.9 liters, but this is a lie - 10 liters will be for sure!

Someone writes that there is not enough when overtaking on the track. It depends on what to compare with. If with Gelenvagen 5.5, then yes, if with Corolla or Patriot, then it's enough for the eyes, I'm not really worried about this.

The power is enough for the eyes, and the pickup even at 120 km / h is more than worthy. The suspension is clearly softer, which is not surprising, because my previous car was a frame car (Pajero Sport).

Does not feel a rut at all (up to 150 km / h), but on more speed you have to take the steering wheel in two hands. Average Consumption per 1,000 km was 7.8 liters, given that I have never saved, but always drove for pleasure, the result was impressive.

The package is pre-maximum Travel, since, unfortunately, the maximum speed is not available for a diesel engine. Very pleased with the heated steering wheel, it is insanely pleasant to operate in the cold. It warms up quickly, hot air immediately begins to flow from the ducts.

Two-lens xnenon headlights, not only do they look chic, but they also shine better than the halogen on the Pajero. The headlights illuminate the bends. The function is cool, but not very useful, but everyone really likes it.

Of the minuses, I would like to note the small trunk. I miss him at all, after Pajero. The tailgate is very inconvenient to close in dirty weather. It is not convenient to grip from the inside, there is not enough electric drive (available in the maximum speed). Also, there is not enough heating of the wiper and nozzle zone. And I don't like the stock multimedia at all, so I decided to replace it, put another GU with a 10.0-inch screen on Android. I'm happy so far.

I bought a car in February 2017. Before that it was - i40. In general, the car is super! During operation, the consumption decreased from 12 to 7.4 liters (the readings have not been reset since the purchase). On our roads, unlike a sedan, you can safely drive without fear of pits (within reasonable limits, of course).

To be honest, I bought a car with a robot with a high degree of uncertainty due to critical reviews of VAG cars with similar gearboxes, but now I like driving this car more and more.

Of the advantages, I immediately want to note the exterior (you involuntarily notice that it catches the eye both from pedestrians and from oncoming carriers), as well as handling and a good interior.

Excellent low beam headlights. Electronics and automatics work well, although during rain it happens that the wipers switch sensor does not work on time.

After the i40, the dashboard seemed rustic, but I found a plus in this - the information is easier to read. High beam rather weak. Mechanical adjustment of the front seats and inconvenient location of the wheel for adjusting the backrest.
