Owner reviews Hyundai Grand Santa Fe

Hyundai Grand Santa Fe, 2014

The car is unambiguously perceived to be more lightweight (compared to Ford explorer), good overview, large mirrors, less heels. Also, the Hyundai Grand Santa Fe is definitely more comfortable - there are no jerks (perhaps on Ford it was the merit of the chip), quieter (noticeably) and softer (let's see how it turns out on a bad road). If you compare Ford and Hyundai in one word, I would choose the definition of "friendlier" for the Hyundai Grand Santa Fe. The most important thing is that there are no annoying small Ford shoals in it - it does not stink "anti-freeze" when you spray, for 300 km on a dirty MSC of a mirror and side windows they stayed clean, there are much more rear seats, the trunk is more convenient, "reaching" the 3rd row of seats is easier, more space for any rubbish. Such a good workhorse, which you will not immediately fall in love with, but there are definitely advantages. On the move, the car feels superior to the Ford. Quiet, smooth, soft. It is easier and more comfortable to operate. The overview is better. Maneuverability at altitude, turning radius +/- maybe even smaller than Ford. The build quality is excellent, the gaps are all even, the eye is happy. The materials are discreet, but the plastic is soft everywhere, nothing creaks, no crickets. Hyundai Grand Santa Fe accelerates very confidently, it is possible with the flow, you can forward the flow. If you do not go to the floor - some advantages. Consumption is strikingly less - a fact.

Advantages : diesel. Controllability. Comfort. Roominess.

disadvantages : It's hard to say yet.

Hyundai Grand Santa Fe, 2017

I bought a Hyundai Grand Santa Fe at the end of April 2017 at a motor show in Moscow. Car white in maximum configuration... I have already traveled over 1000 km. The impressions are most positive. Quite dynamic, economical (I measured the consumption myself, did not believe the computer readings - the average consumption is 9 l / 100 km). Roomy and walkable. Many different new (for me) functions: voice control of equipment, automatic parking, intelligent cruise control, lane tracking, etc. Voice control and auto parking - I didn’t like it (most likely because of habit). I'll probably make friends with the rest of the functions. I will write a more detailed report on the impressions later. We must comprehend everything. But the first impression is like first love. I think I will not be disappointed.

Advantages : dynamics. Profitability. Roominess.

disadvantages : not found.

Hyundai Grand Santa Fe, 2016

During the ownership of the Hyundai Grand Santa Fe, the car was in service more than it drove. 3 "handouts" (mileage 15000, 29000, 38000 km) were changed under warranty, the rear clutch was 2 times for 32000 km and at the moment again for 40500 km. The automatic transmission was repaired for the first time by 30,000 - the second time already under the replacement of the automatic transmission completely by 38,000 km, since it was beyond repair. Right front ball, differential, steering wheel upholstery, etc. What has not been done and has not yet been recognized by the dealer - steering rack, left ball (they did not recognize the right one, until the wheel practically began to fall off). Personally, I have a terrible oil consumption - 3-4 liters per 15,000 km of service interval. Communicated with other ordinary owners Hyundai santa Fe, oil is also added in 2-3 liters at least. And all the breakdowns with all-wheel drive also took place. These problems all-wheel drive all Hyundai Grand Santa Fe and Kia sorento, as well as the younger brothers IX35, etc. Many drivers drive and do not suspect that all-wheel drive has long been gone. It is a pity for those who buy these cars used and then end up with a lot of money. I was very surprised that almost all owners sell their Hyundai Grand Santa Fe after 2-3 years of ownership, realizing that owning it after the warranty is a material problem.

Advantages : very little.

disadvantages : a lot of breakdowns.

Russia has long been in need of such a subcompact crossover as Hyundai creta, however, despite this, he deigned to appear in our country only in 2016. However, better late than never. Most large SUV in assortment korean manufacturer did not become a hit in the Old Continent. However, overseas, things are completely different. There, the Hyundai Grand Santa Fe is a very popular model that large families are happy to choose. This kind of product is a great opportunity for Hyundai to fill a new niche and get its hands on a handful of customers who want to get big car for relatively little money.

The first minutes of meeting with Hyundai Grand Santa Fe evoke only positive emotions. The beautiful body combines the characteristic design of the brand with the body of the typical american SUV... A massive radiator grille, elongated headlights and small upward folds on the sides. About five meters long and a little less than 2 meters wide, it is possible to encroach on the territory of vehicles such as the BMW X5. But can the Korean be put on a par with the Bavarian marked with the F15 code? Unfortunately, they are separated by a huge chasm that appears as soon as the doors open.

Inside, of course, you don't have to complain about the lack of space. Hyundai Grand Santa Fe, on the other hand, pampers with space and comfort. The powerful seats upholstered in beige leather are ideal for long journeys while providing a high level of comfort. In the "Style" package, the front seats receive heating, ventilation and electric drive, and the driver's seat also has a memory of settings for two people.

Closer contact with the steering wheel (fortunately heated - starting with the "Family" trim) and the front panel pretty quickly descend from heaven to earth. These elements do not hide the origin and value of the vehicle. If the plastic in the immediate environment is still good quality, then outside the direct field of view (in the lower part of the front panel and the central tunnel), it no longer makes such a pleasant impression. Even the interior door handles are made from cheap plastic. In addition, the layout and architecture of the audio, navigation and air conditioning control panels evoke mixed feelings.

Rear passengers are not deprived of care. Heated seats and separate air conditioning for the third row ("High-Tech") are rare benefits! In addition, the backrests have an adjustable tilt angle. Thanks to this, you can afford to equip a place to sleep, but to the detriment of the passengers in the last row.

What's interesting in the gallery isn't that bad. Of course, there can be no question of any long-term travel, but even a person about 185 centimeters tall is able to sit there for a while. In any case, there will definitely be enough space for children. Endure long trip independent control of temperature and air flow, as well as 12-volt sockets will help.

When using additional seats, you have to sacrifice the functionality of the trunk. In a 7-seater configuration, it only holds two medium-sized bags. But if the rear seats are hidden in the floor, the volume of the trunk increases significantly. If necessary, its contents can be hidden from prying eyes with a curtain, which has its own storage compartment under the floor.

The test Hyundai Grand Santa Fe was equipped with a 2.2-liter turbo diesel with 197 hp. The engine is matched only with a 6-speed automatic, which perfectly matches the character of the car. Switching is smooth and imperceptible. The manual mode is best left alone because it doesn't change much. The Korean SUV reaches the first hundred 10.4 seconds after the start, and maximum speed - according to the manufacturer - is 200 km / h. However, already at 170 km / h the engine is clearly exhausted, so it is better to stick to the speeds limited by the rules. This also saves you fuel costs. As speed rises, consumption increases at an alarming rate. Moving quietly on the highway, you can enjoy a pleasant result between 7 and 8 liters per 100 km. In the city, appetite grows to 10.5 liters. But as soon as you get into a tight traffic jam, the consumption immediately goes over 12-13 liters.

There is nothing to complain about the comfort during the trip. The relatively soft suspension works well on our rough roads. However, when passing the transverse joints, a light tapping is heard from behind. Additional vibrations are brought into the cabin by 19-inch wheel disksshod in 235/55 tires. The brakes handle a 2 ton car effectively, but you have to get used to the deep nod forward.

Hyundai Grand Santa Fe is equipped with an all-wheel drive system and a number of electronic assistants for difficult conditions. The differential lock and traction control on descents and ascents are especially indispensable on slippery and wet surfaces. The main thing is not to meddle where there is a lot of sand or soggy soil. The Korean has to put in a little more effort where the "old" nine easily passes. And we are not talking about some kind of off-road route, but about an ordinary dirt road leading to several country houses.

Those who wish to park the new Hyundai Grand Santa Fe in their garage need to prepare at least 2,184,000 rubles for the base diesel version "Active". However, if you want to get such additions as fully remote access and start from a button, a panoramic roof with a sunroof and a host of other amenities, you will have to choose the top version of the "High-Tech" for 2,574,000 rubles. What is important, this is really the maximum cost, because all configurations are fixed, there is no list of options, and you won't have to pay a penny for the color.

Exactly a year ago, at the end of September 2015, Hyundai announced the ruble prices for the restyled one, and now it's the turn of the seven-seat version of the model with the Grand prefix. The largest crossover of the Hyundai line, equipped with three rows of seats, has already been lit up at the February Chicago Motor Show, and in the summer there was a full-fledged Russian premiere, but the cost was not announced for the time being. The price list was announced on September 22 - the price of the basic version was 2,424,000 rubles. The new 2018-2019 Hyundai Grand Santa Fe gets a stronger power frame, revised external design, new driver assistance systems, upgraded power plants... Photo, specifications, the configuration and prices of the updated Korean SUV will be presented in the current review.

The overall dimensions of the surviving restyling Hyundai Grand Santa Fe coincide with the pre-reform ones, with the exception of the length. It is reduced by 10 mm thanks to the installation of a redesigned front bumper. The rest of the body dimensions have not been revised, so the final dimensions look like this: length - 4905 mm, width - 1885 mm, height - 1695, wheelbase - 2800 mm. Preserved and ground clearance - 180 mm.

The most tangible changes in external appearance fell on the front of the crossover body, and many adjustments were made with an eye on the five-seater Santa Fe. For example, lighting blocks along the edges of the bumper are designed in a similar style, combining fog and daytime running lights... That's just the Grand Santa Fe has a chain of LEDs daylight lined up in a vertical row, while the “brother” has a horizontal arrangement. Outside, the sections received a frame in the form of chrome-plated brackets that fit well into the design of the front bumper. Among other innovations, we highlight the increased size of the radiator grille with five horizontal strips (previously there were four), slightly modified head optics with two headlights, a different bumper configuration with a larger air intake slot.

The transformation at the stern is slightly more modest than at the front. The attention of the designers was awarded to the rear lights, which received a different optics pattern, and the bumper, which placed on its body other foglights and corrected pipe nozzles on its body exhaust system... Rectangular door luggage compartment with a barely visible spoiler, is still ready to provide easy access to the cargo area.

Profile of the 2018-2019 Hyundai Grand Santa Fe looks fresher and more stylish thanks to the new design rims 18-19 sizes. The sporting features inherent in the dorestaylin car have not gone anywhere, which, paradoxically, are combined with the solidity and solidity of a large family car.

The interior of the crossover cannot boast of an abundance of innovations. The center console, and the entire front panel, have retained their architecture and arrangement of controls. However, there were still some changes, albeit not too large-scale, - the instrument cluster was updated, the main multimedia screen of the top versions became one inch larger (8 inches was the place of the previous 7), inserts imitating carbon appeared on the panel.

The seven-seat configuration of the Grand Santa Fe salon, already in the "base" trimmed with leather, has a comfortable seating position in any of the three rows. Even the passengers of the gallery, for whom their own air conditioner is provided in expensive configurations, will feel more or less free. At the same time, with all seven riders in the trunk, little will be able to fit - its volume will be only 383 liters. But with a five- and, even more so, a two-seater layout, there will be where. In the first case, in cargo hold it will turn out to pack up to 1159 liters of luggage, in the second - all 2265 liters. The flat floor formed after folding the seats and the “hands-free” tailgate opening system greatly facilitate any manipulations with the load.

The new "Grand" was not deprived electronic systems help. Here you have automatic parking, adaptive cruise control (works in the range of 8-180 km / h), and automatic braking (at a speed of 8-70 km / h), and tracking the marking lines. Added to this is a four-camera surround view system and automatic control high beam headlights.

Technics Hyundai Grand Santa Fe 2016-2017

The new body of the long-wheelbase Santa is 15% stiffer than its predecessor. Amplification was made to successfully complete iIHS test with a 25 percent overlap, which the pre-reform machine frankly failed.

The Russian buyer will be offered two options for power units - a 3.0-liter gasoline V6 with a capacity of 249 liters. from. (440 Nm) and a 2.2-liter CRDi diesel with 200 hp. from. (309 Nm). Both engines are combined with a 6-speed "automatic". The stake is placed on the diesel modification, which uses most in demand (up to 90% of total sales). The traction characteristics of the heavy fuel oil engine allow big crossover accelerate confidently, reaching a speed mark of 100 km / h in 9.9 seconds. Along with this, the turbodiesel does not differ in excessive "gluttony" - fuel consumption is about 7.8 liters.

The new Grand Santa Fe gasoline engine is a different unit from the pre-restaling version. The engine has a smaller volume (3.0 liters versus 3.3 of the previous ones), but the same capacity of 249 liters. from. The capabilities of the "six" are revealed in all their glory only after 5300 rpm, so it accelerates the crossover not much faster than a diesel engine - 9.2 seconds to "hundreds". But the fuel consumption is much higher - 10.5 liters according to the passport characteristics.

The four-wheel drive vehicle for the distribution of torque to all wheels uses a clutch that allows forced blocking... The crossover's suspension has been re-tuned - increased travel, but at the same time increased rigidity. Despite all the modifications to the chassis and the presence of 4WD, the Grand Santa Fe does not feel so confident off-road due to the restrictions imposed by the body geometry. The long wheelbase negates the decent ground clearance, and the bumper edges strive to hook the ground.

Price and configuration of Hyundai Grand Santa Fe in Russia

The list of equipment for the base Grand Santa Fe with a 200-horsepower turbodiesel includes xenon headlights, LED DRLs and taillights, leather interior, power driver's seat, dual-zone climate control, multimedia with a 5-inch screen, rearview camera, heated first two rows of seats, six airbags.

More expensive versions contain keyless access, electric drive of both front seats with position memory, tailgate drive, all-round visibility system, multimedia with an 8-inch screen and navigation, panoramic sunroof, driver's knee airbag. The minimum price for a Grand Santa Fe with a petrol V6 is 2,674,000 rubles.

Hyundai Grand Santa Fe - photo of the 2016-2017 model

Large and spacious crossover "Grand Santa Fe" (capable of accommodating up to seven passengers) "got on the conveyor belt" at the end of 2012, but only in 2013 reached Europe - where the premiere of an all-wheel drive and roomy crossover fell on Geneva Motor Show (on which, incidentally, it was announced plans for its sales in Russia) ... but, in fact, he reached the Russian market only at the very beginning of 2014.

The enlarged "Grand" is built on a single base with the "regular Santa Fe" of the 3rd generation (which, by the way, was released in the summer of 2012).

Initially, the "Grand Mod" was intended only for the North American market (where the popularity of large family crossovers by that time began to grow again), but then the leadership of the Korean automaker "decided to take a bold step" - prepared european version "Seven-seater" (which is presented on our market, but for Russia this car (unlike Europe) is presented not only in "diesel", but also in "gasoline" version).

By 2016, the "Korean seven-seater", following the "five-seater", underwent restyling - in general, all the changes fell on "spot adjustments to the appearance."

The appearance of the crossover "Grand Santa Fe" is executed in the general design concept lineup Hyundai. The shape of the body is a little "elongated" and even more visually lengthened by stamping on the sidewalls - forcing the car, figuratively, "rush forward with the speed of a jet fighter."

In front, the "Grand" is harsh and focused, the main optics and "nozzles" of the foglights - "gaze intently into the road, not being distracted by any extraneous things", which emphasizes the high level of safety incorporated by the manufacturer into its new crossover ("Five stars" from "Euro NCAP" is evidence of this).

From the "five-seater Santa Fe", the more "family version" performed by the "Grand" differs not only in the profile of the side glazing, but also in other taillights, as well as a modified form of fog lights.

In addition, significant differences, of course, lie in the dimensions of the car. The length of the seven-seat "Santa Fe" (increased by 225 mm) reached 4915 mm, the width is 1885 mm (+5 mm), the height has grown to 1685 mm (+10 mm), and the wheelbase (lengthened by 100 mm) is 2800 mm.

Such an increase made it possible to significantly increase the useful volume of the trunk: with a "two-row / five-seat layout" it is equal to 634 liters, and its maximum volume (when rows 2 and 3 passenger seats folded) reaches 1842 liters; but "in the mode of maximum passenger capacity" - only 176 liters of volume remain for luggage.

The interior of the Hyundai Grand Santa Fe crossover completely repeats the "interior solutions" of its five-seater brother, but the legroom for second-row passengers has increased slightly - which will have a positive effect on comfort during long trips.

The third row of seats, of course, is not as spacious as the first two - it is more suitable for children, even in spite of a special "niche" in the ceiling that allows tall passengers to fit.

The second and third row of seats, as already noted, fold easily - making it possible to transport a very overall cargo (practically turning the crossover into a massive "station wagon").

Specifications... If for Europe the Hyundai Grand Santa Fe crossover comes with a single diesel unit, then for Russia the Koreans also offer a powerful gasoline engine.

  • Conditionally "main" is considered to be "diesel" - a four-cylinder turbocharged engine with a working volume of 2.2 liters (2199 cm³). This unit is already known for the five-seat version - it is equipped with an injection system Common rail third generation, electronic turbocharger and recirculation cooler exhaust gases (EGR). Turbodiesel power reaches 200 hp. (147 kW) at 3800 rpm, and the peak torque falls on 440 Nm at 1750-2750 rpm.
As in the "less roomy brother", a seven-seater crossover with diesel installation under the hood is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmissionspecially designed for the third generation of Santa Fe crossovers. The manufacturer claims about the speed qualities of the "diesel" that the acceleration to 100 km / h will take 9.9 seconds, and the maximum speed will be 201 km / h. Average fuel consumption in mixed mode is claimed at 7.8 liters.
  • Concerning gasoline engine, then it is quite called "flagship" (firstly, it is more powerful, and secondly, gasoline options are more expensive) - this is a V-shaped six-cylinder power unit with a displacement of 3.0 liters (2999 cm³). In this case, the power of the engine equipped with the system direct injection fuel of the new generation, is 249 hp. (at 6400 rpm), and the maximum thrust is 306 Nm (at 5300 rpm). It works in tandem with the same 6-speed automatic transmission gear.
The gasoline Grand Santa Fe has slightly better dynamic characteristics (in comparison with the diesel one) - acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes 9.2 seconds, and the maximum speed is 207 km / h. Average fuel consumption in mixed mode is claimed at 10.5 liters.

The suspension scheme of the seven-seat crossover is similar to the five-seat one. An independent system with MacPherson struts and stabilizer is used at the front lateral stability, and at the rear, a multi-link system with double levers is used. The differences lie in increasing the rigidity of some elements - which is simply necessary, since the mass and wheelbase of the car have changed. In addition, the "Russian" suspension of the "seven-seater" has different settings - different not only from the five-seater brother, but also from american version crossover - as a result, the car has a smoother ride, less sensitive to bumps and received improved handling when maneuvering in difficult road conditions.

Prices and configuration... In 2017, Hyundai Grand Santa Fe is offered to Russian consumers in three configurations - “Family”, “Style” and “High-Tech”.

  • Per basic configurationavailable exclusively with diesel engine, the minimum asking is 2,424,000 rubles. Its functionality includes: six airbags, leather trim, ABS, EBD, HAC, DBC, ESC, VSM, dual-zone "climate", bi-xenon headlights, cruise control, a multimedia complex with a 5-inch screen and six speakers, a camera rear view, rain and light sensors, heated front and rear seats, dashboard Supervision, rear parking sensors and the darkness of other modern equipment.
  • For a car in the "Style" version you will have to pay from 2 654 000 rubles (surcharge for gasoline engine - 50 thousand rubles), and the "top modification" will cost from 2 754 000 rubles. Among the privileges of the latter are: an electronic "handbrake", electric drive of the front seats and a tailgate, keyless entry and engine start, a panoramic video review system, monitoring of "blind" zones, an audio system with 10 speakers, a panoramic roof, 19-inch wheels, three-zone " climate ”and much more.
