It is not difficult to drive the car and at speed. Equipped with a stability control system, it behaves with dignity on the track. After some consultation, we decide to bring the complexity of the "mission" to a deliberate impracticability: the assault on a snow-covered hill with a slope of thirty-five degrees. We turn on the "lowering" and practically on idling we hit the road. There was a moment when we doubted the successful completion of the ascent - the wheels began to break into a skid. But then a powerful engine came to the rescue: gas to the floor, and Armada, throwing a couple of cubic meters of snow from under the wheels, triumphantly jumps out to the top.

Yes, impressive. But at first it seemed that this car was intended only for scaring cars and "throwing show-offs", that it could run on asphalt and, at best, on a good country road. We were wrong. The Pathfinder Armada is a true off-road vehicle.

According to Honda, however, the NSX-R was rated at 290bhp, which is equivalent to the stock NSX. The Western press was skeptical about these statements, claiming that the real power of the sports car is much higher. In general, the car demonstrated itself with the best side, showing the time on the track no worse than much more powerful and modern Italian supercars.

Nissan GT-R NISMO and Spec V

The Nissan GT-R is Japan's premier supercar today. Continuing the glorious sports pedigree of the Skyline GT-R, Godzilla has never been a cheap car, but some of its modifications carry a truly impressive price tag.

The first version of the model to surpass 15 million yen was the Spec V, unveiled at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show. The car has received carbon fiber parts and an exclusive black paint on the outside. In the cabin, the rear row of seats has been completely removed, and the front row has been replaced with carbon fiber recaro seats. Carbon is also widely used to create the interior of the model, covering most of its interior.

The engine of the model did not receive an increase in power, but the engineers of the company did significant work on the filling of the car, equipping it with a new boost controller, a titanium exhaust system, carbon ceramic brakes, 20-inch NISMO wheels, and also reconfigured the suspension. These improvements made it possible to reduce the weight of the car by 60 kg and increase the acceleration, which, according to experts, was 3.2 seconds to 100 km / h.

The parade of expensive modifications of the GT-R in 2015 was continued by NISMO from the eponymous motorsport division of Nissan. The supercar received a significant increase in power up to 600 hp, many engineering improvements, acceleration to "hundreds" in less than 3 seconds, aerodynamic details and the classic NISMO black-white-red color scheme.

Despite all the improvements, NISMO was never able to beat the Spec V in terms of price, including in the US market. The late modification was priced at $ 149,990, while the 2009 version cost over $ 160,000.

Lexus LS600h L Executive Package

Lexus models are famous for their immodest price tags, but it would be pointless to include them all in this top - we decided to pay attention to two exceptional representatives of the legendary brand.

Fourth generation executive sedan Lexus LS came out in 2006 and remains true to the philosophy of comfort and sophistication, laid back in 1989 with the first model for the brand, which, by coincidence, gave rise to the LS series. Today this car exists in many variations, but the most expensive version can certainly be called the LS600h L Executive Package.

LS600h L rightfully bears the title of the most expensive sedan produced in Japan. The model has an extended wheelbase and is equipped with a hybrid system based on a 5.0-liter V8 with 439 hp. A couple of it is the L110F CVT variator, the drive is full. The car is equipped with many modern and innovative systems and technologies, including comfort and safety. With the LS600h and LS600h L Lexus were able to reach a new level of quality and secure a place in the segment of manufacturers of the most prestigious cars. The success of the flagship model is also evidenced by sales - about 9,000 units per year, which is an excellent indicator for this class.

Extremely expensive, the LS600h L becomes even less affordable with the Executive Package. Its main task is maximum comfort for back row passengers. Especially for them there is a special infotainment system, a control panel for car functions, a folding table, a shiatsu massage system and seats with leg support.

Mitsuoka Orochi Kabuto and Evangelion Edition

Susumu Mitsuoka gave the world a unique phenomenon - Mitsuoka, which has existed since 1968 in its own special world and in no way pretends to world automobile domination. For almost half a century, the company has been releasing in small editions for nostalgic Japanese and foreign fans, domestic cars converted to British classics, and its staff during its existence did not exceed 600 people.

The first original model of the company was "Pokemon" Mitsuoka Orochi, the concept of which based on the NSX was presented to the public back in 2001. Even then, many noted the extraordinary design of the model, inspired by Japanese folklore, from where, by the way, the name of the car was borrowed. Yamata no Orochi, the great snake with eight tails and heads from Shinto myths, incarnated in the body of a sports car. Despite a lot of conflicting reviews, in 2006, already on its own platform, mass production of the machine began.

The sports car, the production of which ceased last year, has long been remembered by everyone as one of the most unusual production cars. With a 3.3-liter V6 with 233 hp. under the hood, the rear-wheel drive model could hardly compete with the NSX, GT-R and many other established leaders in Japanese motorsport on the track, but its unique design was what truly made it special. Apparently, this is why Orochi was initially an extremely expensive pleasure, which critics noted more than once. Despite their displeasure, the car sold well, and its pedigree has two extremely expensive special editions that made it into this article.

At the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show, the concept of a special version of the Kabuto was unveiled with many carbon fiber exterior parts, a body kit and a rear spoiler. In 2009, the eponymous series of five cars was released, retaining the conceptual design, as well as receiving a new exhaust system and a tuned engine. Some of the interior details have been replaced with aluminum, and the leather seats have received special stitching.

Kabuto has long remained the most expensive of the Orochi series, but in 2014, even after the “farewell” version of the car, the Evangelion Edition was released, breaking the previous price record. It includes 11 cars, each with a unique color scheme inspired by the iconic Japanese anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion. The technical filling of the car has remained unchanged.

In 2010, a "charged" version of the supercar Nürburgring Package was introduced, made in accordance with the LFA-based cars that participated in the endurance competition "24 Hours of Nurburgring". The novelty has received a power increase of 10 hp, a retuned transmission, many aerodynamic parts, adjustable suspension, exclusive body colors and special molding. The car managed to set a lap speed record on the Nürburgring track, and at the same time demonstrate there the maximum speed among stock supercars. The car came out in a limited edition of 500 copies, 50 of which are the version of the Nürburgring Package. The model was assembled exclusively by hand according to individual orders at the company's factory in the city of Toyota, Aichi Prefecture.

2000GT is a timeless classic, a legendary sports coupe, which has proven in its time that truly elegant supercars can be assembled in the East. Due to the rather limited release - only 351 models, 62 of which are left-hand drive, it remains a popular element of private collections, for which auto antiques are sold at auctions for impressive sums.

The price record for both the model and all Japanese cars was set in May 2013, when the Japanese beauty found her new owner at RM Auctions, who did not regret to shell out $ 1.16 million for it. The buyer was a collector from Texas, who took possession of an outstanding copy.

The yellow 1967 model, described by RM as the most authentic and high quality 2000GT on display in a long time, is a LHD export option for the American market.
