The Defentime bonnet lock is a locking electromechanical devicepreventing unauthorized entry into the engine compartment (trunk) of the car. The entire structure of the lock is made of non-corrosive materials and is designed for long term exploitation.
For long and correct work of the "Defentime" lock, the following requirements must be observed and observed.
· It is necessary to locate the lock in such a way that it cannot be removed or damaged from the outside of the vehicle.

Measure the length of the "standard" or "sphere" bracket as shown in fig. 6 up to the lock nut. Cut the shrink tubing according to the size you received. Cut off with special tool the special sleeve is 1mm shorter than the resulting size. Remove the bracket from the hood, put a heat-shrinkable tube on the bracket, seat the tube. Apply silicone grease on the seated tube along the entire length. Slide the special sleeve onto the bracket. Install the bracket to the hood. Check the ease of rotation of the sleeve on the bracket.

Changing the length of the drive cable.
If necessary, the length of the drive cable can be reduced. For this:
Unscrew the stopper М3х3. Remove the pin from the drive cable. Unscrew the connector from the plastic sheath. Cut the plastic sheath with a knife to the required length. Pull the safety rope all the way. Screw the connector onto the plastic sheath. Cut the cable so that it is 9mm longer than the plastic sheath, fig. 7. Put the pin on the cable and fix it with the M3x3 stopper.

Installation of a protective cover for the drive cable sheath.
Unscrew the stopper М3х3. Remove the pin from the drive cable. Twist the standard connector off the plastic sheath. Slide heat shrink tubing and protective sleeve over the sheath of the drive cable. The protective cover can be shortened if necessary. Install the special connector for the drive cable sheath and the guard. Screw the fitting of the protective cover onto the connector with the sheathing of the drive cable. Put the pin on the cable and fix it with the M3x3 stopper. Shrink the tube on the protective cover so as to ensure the transition from the protective cover to the sheath of the drive cable at the electromechanical drive. Securely fix the protective casing with metal brackets and self-tapping screws 4.2x16 to the car body.
