The electrical equipment connected to the on-board power supply of the popular Renault Sandero car is protected by two sets of fuses. The first is located under the dashboard. The other is stationary under the hood. Its exact location is AKB. Namely, fusible jumpers are designed to ensure the protection of electrical wiring when the current strength rises above the permissible values. In this article, we will figure out in detail where the fuses themselves are located and how they need to be replaced correctly, although in this case a circuit will come to the aid of many.

Each safety element on Renault Sandero and in the Stepway version is responsible for protecting a strictly defined power and additional electrical circuit. An increase in current strength leads to its burnout, which in turn protects the wiring and equipment of the machine from failure.

Melting of the jumpers is a result of a short circuit and indicates a specific point of the open circuit.
In order to prevent potential fires in the machine or more serious breakdowns on Renault Sandero, and on the Stepway version, it is necessary to choose the right location for the jumpers.

Fuse box under the hood of a car

The fuse box is located on the left side of the battery, this is well shown by the diagram. It includes protection elements of systems responsible for the performance of the Renault engine and protecting the power circuits of the car.

The engine power supply unit is required to protect:

  • Ignition systems and consumers integrated with the lock;
  • Power relays for coolers and powering the main regulator;
  • Power supply of the PSU near the console with devices;
  • Climate control regulator, fuel pump and washer of the front light optics of the car.

Fuse box under the car torpedo

The design and its features are determined by the purpose of the assembly and are strictly determined during the design process. Where are they located? The power supply unit on the left side of the dashboard is located near the handle that secures the hood cover. If you need to inspect the parts, you will have to remove the plastic decor in the form of inserts.

  • Light signaling systems;
  • Security complex;
  • Power supply for the electrical appliances unit;
  • ECU power systems for the motor control unit;
  • Stove and cigarette lighter cable;
  • Relay coils and electric drives.

For Renault Sandero circuits, including for the Stepway version with low amperage, there is no need to use complex fuses. The fusible element is more functional and fully justifies its use. For the most powerful sources of energy consumption, stove coolers and motor cooling, the connection of powerful relay terminals is used.

Renovation work

Getting started renovation works it is necessary to be sure of the breakdown of the consumable component, and a diagram is useful to understand exactly where these or those fuses are located. This can be done using the instrument. Before removing the fuse, be sure to disconnect the negative contact on the battery. Before installing new consumables, it is necessary to correctly establish and correct the cause of the breakdown.

To remove the small jumpers Renault Sandero will have to use tweezers, which are located on the cover of the cabin assembly and have special ends. Larger fuses can be easily pulled out with your fingers. If force is required to remove the jumper, then use a slotted screwdriver, thin type. It should be used carefully so as not to damage other parts of the electrical circuit.

The power supply unit in the engine compartment of the Renault Sandero is checked by releasing the cover latch. After removing the cover, the fault can be detected immediately. The front console PSU can be accessed by simply opening the cover.

Most often, the cigarette lighter fuse on the board is on. Power supply for electrical circuit this device is carried out by a current of 10 A. From the jumper block through the wiring of a certain thickness, the current flows to the panel sockets. Various consumers can receive power from the cigarette lighter.

At the first sign of malfunction, it is recommended to inspect the cigarette lighter circuit and fix the problem. The fuses are marked with a standard red marker F38 (10 A). Through this power circuit, the car radio also receives current. The electric circuit is connected from the central ignition lock of the machine.

Cigarette lighter, on passenger car Renault Sandero, located on the front console to the right of the gear lever. Drivers use the cigarette lighter socket, both for its intended purpose and as a socket for connecting additional devices, which, in most cases, and lead to its failure.

The main malfunction of the cigarette lighter itself is the burnout of the incandescent plates, due to which the electrical circuit breaks when it is turned on, as a result of which the plates stop heating. In this case, the cigarette lighter must be replaced. The second malfunction is associated with the fact that the cigarette lighter ceases to be fixed in the socket after pressing its handle. This is due to the extension of the antennae of the central contact. This malfunction can be eliminated with a flat screwdriver by returning the antennae to its original position, only this must be done with the ignition off so that a short circuit does not occur inside the socket.

When using the cigarette lighter socket as a socket for connecting additional devices, the driver must remember to insert the plugs correctly into this socket, otherwise a short circuit may occur, which will cause fuse F38 to blow. It is located in the mounting block of the car interior from the left end of the front panel. Access to it is possible only after opening driver's door... This fuse also protects the electrical circuit of the car radio, therefore the symbol on the cover mounting block, which helps to find the exact location of this fuse, will be the form of a note.

Fuse F38 may also blow out due to the fact that a device is connected to the cigarette lighter socket or several devices are connected through a splitter, as a result of which the current in this electrical circuit becomes greater than the fuse rating, from which it will definitely burn out.

In addition, there are times when not only fuse F38 burns out, but a specially installed washer on back side positive contact of the cigarette lighter socket. It is designed to protect the socket from overheating and fire, suitable wires. When this malfunction occurs, you will have to replace not only fuse F38, but also the cigarette lighter socket itself.

    INTRODUCTION

    Development of a subcompact hatchback Renault Sandero, 70% unified with the budget renault sedan Logan, started in 2005. Full-scale production of the model started in 2007 at the Ayrton Senna plant in Brazil. In total, Brazil has invested in renault production Sandero 372 million euros, of which 149 million euros went to adapt the Logan and Sandero models for the South American markets, another 223 million euros - in industrial investments.
    In parallel with the basic version of Sandero, Brazilian engineers presented an off-road version Sandero stepway increased by 20 mm ground clearance, massive wheel arches and a slightly modified exterior design.

    Since February 2008 renault Sandero began to be sold not only in Brazil, but also in neighboring Argentina, and in March of the same year the European premiere of the model took place at the Geneva Motor Show. Serial production under the Dacia Sandero brand began in Romania, and in 2009 the assembly of Sandero was established in South Africa and Russia.
    The European premiere of Sandero Stepway took place on May 7, 2009 at international motor show in Barcelona, \u200b\u200band the model went on sale in most European markets in September of the same year.
    Reliability, decent build quality, quite attractive appearance, and most importantly - affordable price made Sandero and Sandero Stepway very popular in many countries of the world. However, over the years of production, there is a need to refresh the look and technical equipment these models.

    In September 2012, the premiere of the second generation Renault Sandero and Sandero Stepway. The designers have worked hard on the appearance of the car: the headlights have changed, taillights, bumpers and radiator grill. In general, the exterior is noticeably fresher.

    Sandero Stepway traditionally differs from a conventional hatchback with increased ground clearance, a protective plastic body kit around the perimeter of the body and roof rails. Otherwise, both externally and structurally, the models are completely identical.

    The interior has also undergone changes. Excessive modesty and utilitarianism are a thing of the past: the dashboard has been decorated with chrome inserts, and the seats have become more comfortable. Already in the basic version it is possible to adjust the steering wheel in height, there is a passenger airbag on front seat, air conditioning, front power windows and a radio with USB port. In more expensive trim levels, the buyer receives leather steering wheel, electric heated outside mirrors, cruise control, parking sensors, climate control, fog lights and color display multimedia system MediaNAV with navigation.

    As before, Sandero is distinguished by a spacious 320 l luggage compartment for its class. If you fold the backs rear seats, the useful volume will almost double.

    In line power units Sandero second generations include both gasoline and diesel motors... In addition to those already familiar from previous generation eight- and 16-valve 1.6-liter gasoline engines capacity respectively 82 and 102 liters. with., as well as a 1.5-liter diesel engine with a capacity of 84 liters. from. the car received a new economical 1.2-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 73 liters. from. All engines are equipped with mechanical five-speed boxes gear.
    The Sandero Stepway platform, as before, has a front suspension with McPherson struts and rear suspension with a torsion beam, however, the engineers reconfigured the chassis somewhat.
    In 2013, Sandero passed a series of crash tests for euro version NCAP, according to the results of which it received a very good safety rating - four stars.
    Renault (Dacia) Sandero is a practical, reliable, economical and attractive vehicle with affordable price... Sandero Stepway also allows you to feel confident on city roads far from best quality, as well as to overcome light off-road. "Monolit Publishing House"

    3. Replacing the fuses

    Fuses in the cabin

    In the event of a malfunction of one of the electrical devices, first check the corresponding fuses.
    Remove the cover (A) by grasping the handle (1).
    The layout and purpose of the fuses are shown in the table (4) glued on the inside of the cover, see also the table below.
    Free fuse slots are not recommended.
    ATTENTION
    Check the appropriate fuse and, if necessary, replace it with a new one of the same rating.
    A fuse with a high rated current can cause overheating of the electrical network (risk of fire) if the equipment uses excessive electrical energy.

    The fuse is removed from the socket with tweezers (3).

    All electronics in the car are protected by a special fuse box. The first block is located in the engine compartment, and the second under dashboard... Thanks to them, it is possible to ensure the protection of all electrical appliances from high voltage drops. In this article, it will be analyzed in detail where these protective elements are located, how to replace them correctly.

    All Renault Sandero Stepway fuses are located in a special block, and each is responsible for protecting equipment and wiring from the effects of power overloads that may appear during a short circuit or other power outages.

    A short circuit leads to the fact that the jumpers burn out, as a result of which it is possible to determine what led to the open circuit and in what place it happened. Due to the fact that the jumper burns out, fire is prevented, and also helps to protect the car from the occurrence of serious damage related to electrical equipment.

    The power supply unit located under the hood is located next to the battery on the left side. It contains protective elements responsible for the operation of the motor and protection of the power circuit, as well as:

    • Ignition system
    • ECU system that controls the motor
    • Power supply of the main regulator, power relays of the cooler
    • Fuel pump, climate control regulator, as well as all elements of light optics

    BP sweat torpedo

    The Renault Sandero fuse box is located under the torpedo on the left side of driver's seat near the handle that opens the hood. He is responsible for such elements as:

    • Light signaling
    • Security complex
    • Power supply unit for electrical appliances
    • Stove and cigarette lighter
    • Relays and electrical devices

    For medium power circuits that are in this car, ordinary fusible protection elements are quite suitable, but for more powerful ones, special relays are provided.

    Replacement

    In order to understand exactly which consumable component is out of order, there is a Renault Sandero fuse circuit. Before replacing, it is advisable to disconnect the battery terminals and correct the cause of the breakdown.

    For ease of installation, there is a special tweezers with special ends under the cover. But larger ones can be pulled out with your fingers.

    Very often the fuse responsible for the cigarette lighter blows out. This circuit is powered by a current of 10 A. Various devices are powered from this device.

    When the first signs of a malfunction appear, it is advisable to immediately check the cigarette lighter circuit. The protective element has a red color with the F38 mark. Through the same circuit, current is supplied to the radio tape recorder.

    Outcome

    Summing up, we can conclude that if any system in the car stops working, the first thing to do is to check the fuses, since there is a high probability that the problem is in it.
