In general, we can say that the transformations made brought the hatchback as close as possible to urban crossovers, because in addition to the "off-road" body kit, the novelty also received an increased to 195 mm ground clearance(clearance).

The salon here is also "lapped" from the usual version of the hatchback, but at the same time it received improved noise insulation, allowing you to move on gravel and dirt roads with higher acoustic comfort. In the interior decoration of Sandero 2 Stepway, practical materials are used, mainly high-quality plastic, while the interior design, despite the apparent simplicity budget B-class well thought out in terms of ergonomics. There is more than enough free space in the hatchback in the front row, but there is not enough space in the back, however, this is already the cost of the compact car segment.

As for the trunk, in the base it is ready to hide in its depths up to 320 liters of cargo, and with the rear row of seats folded down, the useful volume increases to 1200 liters.

The "top" engine also has 4 in-line cylinders with a total displacement of 1.6 liters (1598 cm³), fully fits into the Euro-5 framework, runs on AI-95 gasoline, but at the same time received a 16-valve timing and a reconfigured distributed fuel injection. As a result, the maximum engine output increased to 102 hp. at 5750 rpm, and the peak torque rose to the 145 Nm mark, available at 3750 rpm. Like the younger engine, the flagship is aggregated only with a 5-speed "mechanics", with which it is capable of providing the hatchback with a starting spurt from 0 to 100 km / h in no more than 11.2 seconds, or reaching a maximum speed of 170 km / h. The flagship also looks more attractive from the point of view of fuel appetite - in the combined cycle it requires 7.2 liters per 100 km, which is slightly less than that of the junior power unit.

By the summer of 2015, it will be possible to choose a gearbox - between “mechanics” and a “robot” with a similar number of steps ... and by the end of the year, an “automatic” will also be available (at 4 steps and only for the “top” engine).

Renault Sandero Stepway of the second generation is built on the basis of the "civil hatchback" and, like it, has only front-wheel drive. The suspension of the novelty is spring-loaded, completely independent on the basis of MacPherson struts and a stabilizer lateral stability front and semi-dependent with torsion beam and rear anti-roll bar. In comparison with its predecessor, "2nd Stepway" received a more rigid and additionally reinforced suspension much better adapted to Russian road conditions. In addition, the bottom of the car is protected with an anti-gravel coating, all seams and joints are covered with mastic, fuel lines are hidden in plastic casings, and the engine crankcase is covered with steel protection.
