This is the convenience of the service of any car brandwherever you are.
This plus is at the same time a huge minus - a minus in the protection and inability to steal the car. Almost all thefts are carried out using diagnostic or similar equipment, with the help of which the standard alarm is turned off, the car keys are reset and new ones are prescribed, and the entire standard anti-theft system becomes absolutely helpless.

That is why the developers of non-standard anti-theft systems are working on creating new methods of all kinds of blocking and protection of the car from theft as a whole.
Over the past 10 years, advances in electronics, including automotive, have stepped forward, leaving behind simple wires, "minus or plus control", high-current contact relays and much more. They were replaced by digital buses, CAN, fiber optic and other modern technologies.
Oddly enough, but most of the alarms and anti-theft systems on the market now operate using 10-year-old technologies, adding to their advantages only good functionality in the form of GPS / GSM channels and the ability to control some additional functions by phone. Impossible because no alarm and no satellite system protection cannot block the car engine except at the physical level, i.e. interrupt control of the starter, fuel pump or ignition. These are the most primitive and easy-to-use locks!

However, on cars of brands such as Porsche, Land rover, BMW and others, it will not be possible to interrupt these circuits without leaving a lot of "errors" in the car's electronics, because the car's engine control unit will define this as interference with the standard electronics, which will notify the owner with many multi-colored lamps on the car's dashboard. Therefore, all of the above alarms and security and search systems you can make one or at most two interruptions of the circuit harmless to the car - this is the starter and the power supply to the engine control unit. The level of complexity of such locks is so low that a competent hijacker can restore all these locks in 1-2 minutes.

The consequence of which is the result: all satellite alarms have disappointing statistics - out of 100 hijacking attempts, at least half will be successful!

In all anti-theft systems of the SPRING series, in addition to the starter and ignition interlocks (these interlocks are necessary to protect against distraction when an attempt is made to start the engine with the alarm not disarmed), continuous interlocks of the data transmission control buses are carried out. These are digital locks, which, firstly, do not leave the slightest trace of their presence in the car, and, secondly, they simply cannot be bypassed "directly". They do not cut the wires and cannot be found except through the entire car wiring!

The main difference between the SPRING anti-theft systems and all known security systems is the direct interaction of the electronics of the complex with engine control units, the CAN system and with information data buses. Unlike all known anti-theft systems, engine blocking is performed not only at the physical level (breaking the circuits), but also at the digital level (continuous blocking of control circuits).

We took three, the best of them: Ultrastar (StarLine systems), Magic System (Stalker system) and Alarm Trade (Pandora system), and decided to identify the best security complex of the three built on the basis of production systems of these companies. By the way, the availability of the complexes among the three can be said only in the case of StarLine and the Pobedit complex. But more about everything.

The composition of the complexes

So, three complexes from leading Russian companies were tested:

It should be noted that if the first complex - "Pobedit", can be found already equipped with all the necessary security and search devices, since it is already sold in a box on the shelves of car dealerships, then we had to select complexes based on the Pandora and STALKER-600LIGHT systems from those offered by reputable specialists company Ugona.net (WWW.UGONA.NET). For which StarLine received a big plus even before the start of the test. After all, safety is not a privilege, but an urgent need for every car owner. Imagine 90% of amateurs come to a store for a security system or buy it via the Internet and what could be easier to take a box that already has everything you need and even more, from the counter and not worry about anything?

But let's continue. Since only StarLine has its own name from the complexes we are testing, then we will call the other two based on the Pandora and Stalker systems - Pandora and Stalker.

First impression and prices

Pandora and Stalker complexes are a set of boxes and bags with accessories, while Pobedit is perfectly packed in one box and has nice additions, the most interesting thing is a one-year contract with the security and search company Caesar Satellite, which, among other things, is in a box. But the most interesting thing, as it seemed to us, is the financial guarantee. A very interesting thing: if your car equipped with the Pobedit complex is still hijacked, which is unlikely, then the manufacturer, Ultrastar, will pay 50,000 rubles to the victim, which is twice the price of the complex and even more than the price of the complex with installation.

But let's continue the analysis and dwell on the only component that the car owner will hold in his hands every day - the key chains for alarms.

The appearance of the keychains for Pandora and Stalker is archaic, and although the keychains themselves are comfortable to hold in the hand, due to their size, they are not very ergonomic, in our opinion. In the same time starLine keychain it stands out for its more thoughtful design, it alone lacks an annoying antenna. Moreover, as we found out later, this did not affect the range of the remote control in any way.

By the way, according to Ugona.no tests, this same keychain from StarLine A92 turned out to be not only the cutest and most ergonomic, but also the most durable.

The StarLine and STALKER complexes are based on not the most top-end systems. Both have older sisters. But the Pandora DXL 3500 from Alarm Trade is a flagship model, but not superior in functionality to StarLine and STALKER. At the same time, Pandora DXL 3500 is the most expensive review system, which is difficult to assess in the absence of advantages. This is where the plus in the professional selection of the "Pobedit" complex once again manifests itself, you get a guaranteed system sufficient for protection without overpaying.

We focused not on the price of components, but on their capabilities. And yet, price is an important factor. Therefore, let's take a closer look at the cost of the kits and their capabilities.

The table clearly shows that the Pobedit and Stalker security complexes have the greatest functionality, however, the highest price for Stalker is also visible, despite the fact that there are no beacons (they are autonomous bookmarks), the abundance of which is observed even in the less expensive Pobedit. But the most budgetary, at first glance, Pandora is not at all happy with the absence of a GSM module and the impossibility of GPS monitoring. It turns out that, all other things being equal, Pandora will be even more expensive than Stalker, and therefore, the best choice at this stage becomes Victory. Of course, Pandora doesn't have a GSM system just yet and we hope that it will appear soon.

StarLine offers three GPS modules as part of the complex: M11 beacon, M10 + beacon and M30 GPS / GSM module. Beacons M11 and M10 partially overlap each other, and if M11 is an autonomous bookmark that does not use the car's power supply, which needs to be hidden "deeply" and securely, then M10 + can be connected to the main power supply and watch the car's movements in real time. At the same time, the M10 + may not be particularly hidden in order to mislead the hijacker: I found one beacon and it's good, most likely they are no more. The third position is the GSM / GPS M30 module, which allows the owner to communicate with the car by phone, monitor its movement, etc.

Non-obvious differences

But let's continue to disassemble the systems, because the complexes have enough differences. Here, for example, an integrated CAN module, a means for connecting devices, in this case an alarm directly to digital buses cars. CAN facilitates the correct installation of car alarms and immobilizers, is present in StarLine Pobedit and Pandora, but absent in Stalker. Using the CAN connector, the installer can install the complex much faster and with minimal interference in the wiring. Therefore, to install the Stalker in a car with a digital CAN interface, you will need: a special adapter, which entails additional costs for the adapter, or direct installation, bypassing the CAN connector, and this is a serious violation of the standard wiring.

But at the same time, there are no GSM devices in Pandora that allow two-way communication with the security complex via a mobile phone. That is, using "Pobedit" you can call your car on the phone and give commands, the complex, in turn, will send information to your phone, also using mobile communications. And in the MS-PGSM 4 module, present in Stalker, it is even possible to connect photo recorders, which, using a GPRS connection, will transmit photographs via the Internet and the owner will always know what exactly is happening with the car. But for Pandora, we were unable to find either GSM or GPS module manufactured by Alarm Trade. The manufacturer offered the latest alarm systems with a GSM / GPS module, but we could not find them on the free market. And judging by the policy of Alarm Trade, the price of new items will bite.

An important factor is the included SIM cards. If StarLine in the kit offers a special, heat-resistant SIM card that ensures stable operation in any frost or heat, and a special tariff from MTS without a monthly fee, then Stalker, if we install it in Ugona.no company, will receive the most ordinary SIM card that can refuse when severe frost and a certain tariff "Convenient" with a monthly fee of 300 rubles. per month.

And the frost-resistant map is actually very relevant: note that in most of Russia, including megalopolises, winters are cold, snowy and long. However, no cold weather will prevent the user of the "Pobedit" complex from communicating with his car.

Both systems have the ability to connect autonomous power supply and monitoring, vehicle tracking. MS-PGSM 4 will allow you to monitor the car through the car-online.ru system. The user only needs to register in the service, enter the MS-PGSM device number and pay for GPRS traffic that will come from the device's SIM card. There is no subscription fee in the car-online.ru monitoring system. In this case, the service will send you a message about the loss of connection with the device if an intruder tries to jam the MS-PGSM signal, show pictures from cameras that you can install in the cabin, send messages when an alarm is triggered, and show the movement of the car on the map.

Pandora simply does not have anything like this and, apparently, is not foreseen, since there are not even the necessary devices for monitoring yet.

And with the Pobedit system, you can only track the movement of the car on the map on the starline-online.ru service. It is completely free and convenient, especially when using the service to monitor vehicle movements in real time. But StarLine, among other things, has a trump card up its sleeve. As stated above, the kit includes a one-year contract with Caesar Satellite, a professional security search system that will give odds to any online service... After all, judge for yourself, Caesar satellite operators, unlike car owners, monitor the situation around the clock. For the sake of fairness, it should be noted that the extension of the contract for subsequent years was offered by the owner of Pobedit at a significant discount.

Comfort and reliability

The fact that modern security systems must have a dialogue code is already known even by motorists who are far from technical issues. The dialog code assumes the "communication" of the alarm key fob or immobilizer tag with the security system itself. The device recognizes that the tag is in the coverage area and asks it a random question to which the tag must give the correct answer, calculated using a special algorithm. All devices in the tested complexes can communicate on the friend-or-foe system. All of them operate in the range from 433.1 to 434.9 MHz, (immobilizers 2.4-2.48) have dynamic codes, requests are encrypted with individual keys: Pandora is encrypted using an 80-bit key, while StarLine has more cryptographic security and more. secure 128-bit key. A stalker from Magic System is the only one who does not disclose the length of the encryption key, but the main thing is that the key is also individual (as in Pandora and in Pobedit), and this does not allow opening a car using grabbers.

It is quite pleasant to work with all the complexes; during testing, none of them made mistakes. Among other amenities, all tested systems have an auto-start function, so beloved by car owners during cold periods. And there are some peculiarities here. Thanks to the GSM module StarLine Pobedit and Stalker have an advantage over Pandora. So, as the owner of Pobedit or Stalker can start a car engine, being at least a few kilometers away from rough terrain, while Pandora is limited by the range of the keychain. However, Stalker, Pobedit, and Pandora are able to start and stop the engine based on pre-programmed parameters. And it can be: temperature environment, engine temperature, time of day and others. The engine can be automatically started and stopped when certain parameters are reached.

While the engine is running, the immobilizers of the systems closely monitor the car while the engine is warming up, so even if you get access to the car you will not be able to go far.

Output. So what should you buy?

Of course, the issue of security is quite complex and requires an individual solution for each person. But based on our test, you can make a logical choice. If you are a thrifty person and are used to choosing things that are worth your money, then pay attention to the StarLine "Pobedit" complex. You can purchase it already fully equipped in almost any store, or a website specializing in the sale of security systems. The installation of the complex will not be difficult, therefore the installation center will not charge a large sum for the installation of Pobedit. Also, you will receive a financial guarantee of 50,000 rubles and a free contract with, probably the best, security and search service Caesar Satellite. There are a lot of benefits in acquiring Pobedit. At the same time, do not forget that this complex is the most complete and has GPS beacons inaccessible in other complexes, hidden tabs on which you can find the car in case of theft, and this is not counting other solutions that are more interesting than those of competitors.

Needless to say, competitors in the form of Stalker and Pandora, although they offer the same modern and rather daring technologies as "Pobedit", are much poorer equipped, and the cost is not an example higher.
