Traffic police radars. Hand-held radars returned to DPS inspectors

Important news for motorists: traffic police inspectors were again given hand-held radars - special devices to track speeding. They were not used for almost a year, and now they decided to return them with an updated "firmware", which, it is alleged, allows to avoid illegal actions on the part of the police. Previously, they could manipulate data, and this was the reason for the ban on the use of radars.

They are back! On Russian roads handheld radars reappeared without much publicity. The picture is familiar - an inspector armed with a device looks out for an intruder in the stream. The speed meter reacts loudly to overshoot.

The radars are old, the firmware is new. Developers released special software for handheld radars after the actual ban on the use of devices. The order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs appeared in June last year. The main reason the widespread seizure of radars has been called the fight against corruption. As a result, the so-called "ambushes in the bushes" disappeared from the roads for a while. Then the equipment was modernized and given to the inspectors.

“The main difference of this device is that it incorporates new system, it is anti-corruption. That is, the inspector cannot make changes or delete any information. This device is immediately blocked, "- explains the traffic police inspector Evgeny Vaskov.

The device now works in automatic mode - the recording starts itself when an intruder appears in the frame. The number of regulations and protocols should correspond to the number of speeding events detected by the updated radar.

Federal highway "Caucasus". The handheld radar is installed on the dashboard in the vehicle. A car without a special paintwork stands on the side of the road - the so-called hidden patrol. Violations are detected by one crew, after a couple of kilometers, another one stops.

Stavropol Territory, Khanty-Mansky District, Irkutsk, Pskov, Tyumen Regions - there are not so many regions where handheld radars are used again. The reaction of most drivers is the same - motorists do not hide their surprise. Many are sure that the devices are still banned, and almost all of them have a story when the figures shown by the inspector were in doubt.

“They can cheat even now, this is exactly such a radar, just such a radar near Yekaterinburg was a year ago. I had a speed, I just got out of the gas station, 73 kilometers was the maximum speed, and he shows me 103. I say, what is this? He says - prove it, you will ... so stupid. I took out a flash drive on my tablet, showed it to him, guys, look, ”says Vyacheslav, a driver from the Tyumen region.

“I faced this back in Volgograd. The inspector is just on the road. As he pleases, so he guides him. What he shows there, how he shows there, is not clear at all, ”Roman from the Stavropol Territory wonders.

Some car enthusiasts managed to prove in court that unscrupulous inspectors deliberately changed the settings. For example, the mode of passing speed measurement was set on the radar instead of the oncoming one. One car was shown in the frame - it was driving towards the patrol, and the speed was recorded at the car in the neighboring, reverse lane. In the updated device, all the inspector's manipulations are recorded, and such situations should not be repeated.

The regional traffic police say that the return of radars is a necessary measure. One in three accidents is partly due to overspeeding. In the Stavropol Territory alone, more people died and suffered in three months of this year than in the whole of 2016. Therefore, hidden patrols with hand-held radars will now appear on the tracks more and more often.

Experienced motorists are often nostalgic for the times when drivers warned each other about "traffic police" ambushes by flashing headlights. Today we only have to remember this, because the strict traffic police inspectors have now been replaced innovative technologies, such as photo and video cameras, and about which, in fact, there is no one to warn about because of their invisibility, and it is useless. The motorist only has to guess about where they stand, and sometimes the radar detector can be a bad helper. Below in the article will be given a list of the most "harmful", from the point of view of motorists, photo and video cameras.

"Azimuth"

Such a unique complex is able to simultaneously record 6 violations of the DD rules:

Incorrect parking;

Ignoring traffic light readings;

Crossing the stop line;

Passage of an intersection with a subsequent turn left / right, in a place where it is prohibited;

Disrespect for people at the crosswalk,

Violation speed mode.

Such a system as "Azimut" easily recognizes reckless drivers from a five-kilometer distance, and it does not matter at all whether the road is flat or winding.

"Odysseus"

The purpose of the Odyssey system is to automatically record traffic violations on video and a camera and monitor vehicles crossing the control zone:

Fix violations road rules;

Determine the speed of movement of vehicles.

Although the potential of the photo-video fixation system is wide, usually only one function is used: to detect a car with a driver not wearing a seat belt, a car passing through a red light or speeding.

LISD

The LISD radar detects short laser pulses reflected from an object.

It has the following advantages:

Its narrow beam directivity makes it possible to select the desired car in the general stream;

Measure her speed;

Identify the offender;

Take pictures from a 200-meter distance of the number;

And it is not affected by the weather.

In appearance, such a device resembles binoculars.

"Robot"

You can see such a radar on the poles. The high-sensitivity 11-megapixel camera easily recognizes license plates and the driver's face from a distance of 1000 meters. The camera is able to fix wrong parking, exit to the oncoming lane and travel under a prohibiting traffic light.

The design feature of this device is that it sees roadway in two "eyes". Such complexes are very common and work very successfully.

"Parkon"

This is a unique car control for parking and other traffic violations. The basis of this technology is a video module, which is installed in police car and a station for processing the received video image.

Parkon's assignment is to identify:

Cars that have violated the parking rules;

Stopping or parking on the road where there is no parking;

Sidewalk parking;

Prohibited parking;

Stop at the "zebra";

Parking at the bus stop, lawns, playgrounds and sports grounds.

"Cordon"

Such a device differs from its predecessors in its high fixation accuracy. The information received by Cordon is sent wirelessly to the computing center, where the information is analyzed. Such a radar complex is capable of simultaneously monitoring four road lanes.

Here are its main features:

Auto-generation of 2 images;

Car control for speeding and driving into the oncoming lane;

Fixing violations with subsequent transfer to the computing center;

Full compliance with a certain speed limit of each car in the control area;

GPS / GLONASS availability;

Remote setting.

"Arrow"

This modern complex is equipped with a video recording camera and is capable of tracking violations up to 1 km. It should be noted that this device does not track any specific car, but the entire flow of vehicles moving along the road.

"Chris"

The task of this photoradar complex is automatic fixation traffic violations... In addition, the device is capable of reading vehicle numbers and tracking them in databases.

The transmission of information to traffic police posts is carried out both by phone and via GSM and via a radio channel. The data transmitted by the sensor is very reliably protected by the security system built into it.

"Avtouragan"

The task of such a stationary complex of auto video control is to record violations road traffic, and carry out the search. This complex determines the speed of the vehicle by video frames.

"Avtouragan" possesses the following characteristics:

By reading numbers in the daytime up to 97%;

Recognition of dirty or damaged registration numbers;

Carries out control over road traffic;

This complex cannot be "seen" by radar detectors;

In addition to speeding, it fixes other violations;

performs automatic database search.

Avtodoria

This system monitors the speed mode via GLONASS / GPS with the option of photofixation. Avtodoria uses two registrars. The first is installed at the very beginning of the controlled area, and the second at the very end.

Avtodoria records the moment when the car passes, records at what time and in what place it entered the controlled area and left it. The received information is transmitted to the server, where the average vehicle speed is calculated.

If the speed is exceeded, then in automatic mode a resolution is generated indicating the time and place at which this car committed a violation.

According to Kommersant, at the moment, hand-held radars are used to record traffic violations in almost half of the federal subjects. The use of radars varies according to the accident rates in the region. Complete list subjects using manual radars were not provided by the traffic police, but it is known that in Moscow and the Moscow region only automatic video cameras are used to record violations.

Recall that the use of handheld radars was suspended until further notice by decree of the Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev in July last year. The decision was made due to the fact that unscrupulous traffic police officers often used devices to extort bribes, offering violators to erase records for monetary rewards.

In order to prevent extortion on the roads, the Research Center for the Study of Traffic Safety (SRC BDD) has developed software that prohibits deleting records from the device without authorized access.

The software was modernized remotely, the manufacturers developed a program with the help of which the traffic police officers independently reflashed the radars. Control over the use of the modernized software was entrusted to the heads of departments. Only they will be able to unblock access to the recorded data, the SIC BDD said.

The State Automobile Inspectorate noted that at the moment 1.5 thousand mobile radars have been modernized.

Experts warn that replacement software does not exclude all risks. For example, the question of compliance with the rules for installing mobile complexes on the roadway remains open. Unscrupulous inspectors can set the camera at the wrong angle, as a result of which drivers will be punished for alleged violations.

Dear car enthusiasts, you can study the police radars presented on this page for a long time. All of them are briefly divided into mobile (various "tripods", "hair dryers", mobile "arrows", etc.) and stationary (cordons, gyrfalcons, muliradars, etc.). The most important question is how to protect yourself from unnecessary spending. Which radar detector to choose, so that it is not expensive and works well, so that it does not squeak at everything?
You need to understand that a police radar is not just a box with a radar - it is a complex device that is designed not only to calculate the speed of your car, but is also configured in such a way that your radar detector cannot calculate its signal (a certain frequency, duty cycle, linearity , impulse, etc.). Police radar manufacturers are not standing still, there is a constant race of detections! Who will figure out whom faster - either the police radar, or the radar detector! Therefore, even the most "sophisticated" Chinese radar detector, which in the Middle Kingdom costs about 3 times cheaper than in Russia, will most likely be useless. Do not rely on the fact that you are lucky, and you will find exactly the only Chinese radar detector that will work as expected - it will not! Checked.
In our laboratory through long research in 2011, a line of radar detectors of the series was created Radartech Pilot... It was the pilots that were developed in Russia against Russian police radars and were repeatedly tested by the most corrosive users. It was the pilots who proved to be the most balanced radar detectors in terms of price / sensitivity / noise immunity. The scientific team of the laboratory is constantly working on improving the hardware, research is being carried out in the field of radar detection. If you want an intelligent assistant on the way, then we recommend that you contact the professionals in this field - the radar detectors of the series!

Radar Strelka-ST

The newest radar complex!
The complex is based on a radar system used in military aviation to intercept and track targets, so the Strelka camera starts tracking a car already 350 meters away, when the driver cannot see it yet. The system can monitor five lanes of traffic simultaneously in the in and out mode.

The automated stationary “Strelka-ST” traffic control complex is fundamentally different from all others developed by domestic and foreign manufacturers in that it measures the speed of not one, but all vehicles that fall within the radar coverage area. This eliminates errors in determining the speed of vehicles when they move at the same distance on different lanes of the road. In addition, it measures speeds not at one point, but at distances of up to 350 meters. Simultaneous maintenance of up to 3-4 lanes makes the complex, in comparison with others, more cost-effective. The complex is carried out in stationary ("Strelka-ST") and mobile ("Strelka-M") versions.

Advantages:

Processing signals from all traffic lanes (up to four) at once and generating a report with data on the speed and range of all objects;
- automatic transmission ordered data into a computer for further processing;
- automatic selection of objects moving at speeds exceeding the set threshold values;
- automatic issuance of a command (at a distance of about 50 m) and detection and recognition of the vehicle number;
- automatic formation of a freeze frame of a car that has violated the speed limit (the state number is clearly visible);

Unlike the police radars you know, the product processes not only the signal with the maximum Doppler speed, but all the reflected signals. Maximum speed The processing of radar data is currently 80 msec., which makes it possible to synchronize the readings of the radar with the stream of video signals from a panoramic video camera producing 12 frames per second.
Typically, this speed is sufficient to create a visually continuous series of video data.

The system operates as follows: A pulse radar emits pulses in the direction along the roadway (24.15 GHz with a pulse duration of 0.5P rad = 30 nsec with a pulse repetition rate of 25 μs), a signal reflected from all vehicles at a distance of up to 1000 meters is received to the block of fast Fourier transform, from where, after processing, the speed-range data pairs are formed for all vehicles. At the same time, there is a signal from a digital television camera aimed in the same direction. The video signal is processed by the pattern recognition program, which highlights the moving vehicles against the background of the road and calculates the vehicle coordinates in the image frame, builds the trajectory of the recognized image across the frame and calculates the approximate speed of the vehicle across the frame. The data from the radar and the data from the image analyzer are fed into the cross-correlation program, which correlates the objects in the television image with the range-speed pairs received from the radar system. If any vehicle exceeds a predetermined speed threshold, after identification by range and movement dynamics has occurred, then such a vehicle is considered an intruder and when approaching a distance of 50 meters, it is photographed under conditions most favorable for the subsequent launch of the license plate recognition program.

  • maximum range of speed measurement - 1000 m;
