Oil change in a manual transmission Renault Logan, Sandero, Largus. What kind of oil to fill in the manual transmission frets largus How much oil is in the largus box 16

The transmission oil poured into the gearbox is designed for the entire service life of the vehicle and in the regulations Maintenance there are no operations to check the level and change the oil. At the same time, we recommend checking the oil level in the gearbox at every service and always - if an oil leak from the gearbox is detected.
We carry out the work on a viewing ditch or overpass.
Check the oil level through the control (filler) hole on the cooled gearbox. The inspection hole is located on the front wall of the gearbox housing and is closed with a threaded plastic plug. Remove protection power unit(see "Removing the protection of the power unit").
Clean the gearbox housing around the inspection hole with a rag.

We unscrew the control hole plug counterclockwise.
The plug is sealed with a rubber gasket. If the gasket is torn or has lost its elasticity, we replace it with a new one.
The gearbox oil level should be at the bottom edge of the hole, which can be checked with your finger.
If necessary, top up with the same brand of oil that was poured into the gearbox.

… Add oil to the gearbox up to the lower edge of the hole (oil will start to flow out of the hole).
When the excess oil flows out, remove the oil drips with a rag and wrap the cork.
If it is necessary to drain the oil from the gearbox (for example, when replacing the wheel drive oil seal), clean the crankcase around the drain hole. We put a container with a volume of at least 3.5 liters under the drain hole.

Unscrew the drain plug with a square "8" ...

A copper washer is installed under the plug to seal.
At the end of the drain, we wrap the drain plug. After finishing renovation works pour oil into the gearbox through the control hole and wrap the plug.

The repair and maintenance manual for Renault Logan, Sandero, Largus, Logan 2, Sandero 2 indicates that the oil in the manual transmission is filled for the entire service life of the gearbox and does not require replacement. But during operation of the machine, the inner boot of the left drive often fails. The boot dubs in the cold, breaks and water gets into the oil, which requires an oil change.

What oil should be poured

On the conveyor in the manual transmission, the manufacturer fills in the Elf Tranself NFJ 75W-80, which Renault recommends for the JXX, TL4 and NDX series gearboxes.

On Renault logan, Sandero, Logan 2, Lada largus with 1.4 liter engines, the jH1 manual transmission was installed, while cars with 1.6 and 1.2 liter engines were aggregated with jH3. Structurally, the units differ in the size of the clutch housing, therefore, this does not affect the choice of transmission oil. Less common on cars is the JR5 manual transmission.

For topping up, use only Elf Tranself NFJ 75W-80, since the mixing of oils is not prohibited. With a complete replacement, it is not necessary to buy original products... You can choose among worthy analogs:

  • Liqui Moly Getriebeoil 75W-80 (GL-5);
  • Castrol Syntrans Transaxle 75W-90 (GL-4 +);
  • Motul Motylgear SAE 75W-80 (GL-5);
  • Castrol Syntrans V FE 75W-80 (GL-4 +);
  • Shell Getriebeoil EP 75w90 (GL-4);
  • Valvoline Maxlife MTF SAE 75W-80 (GL-4).

The filling volume of the jH1 and jH3 gearboxes is 2.8 liters, for the JR5 - 2.5 liters. Before purchasing, we recommend that you clarify this information in the repair and operation manual for your car model.

Criterias of choice

When choosing transmission fluid pay attention to specification and viscosity. It is generally accepted API classification which, through testing, determines the effectiveness of EP and anti-corrosion additives. Elf Tranself NFJ 75W-80 corresponds to the GL-4 + class, which is recommended for use in synchronized manual transmissions passenger cars... However, it is permissible to use GL-4 and top class- GL-5, which is designed for loaded hypoid gears.

The SAE mark indicates low temperature (W number) and high temperature performance. 75W formulations are recommended for regions where the temperature does not drop below -40 ° C. If the car is operated at temperatures not lower than -26 ° C, oils with an 80W index are poured into the manual transmission. With regard to high-temperature characteristics, then in regions with a temperate climate, a viscosity grade of 85-90 can be used.

On Renault Logan, Sandero, Logan 2, Sandero 2, Lada Largus, you can safely use oils with SAE indices: 75W-80, 75W-90, 75W-85 and API specification not lower than GL-4.

Oil change intervals

Unlike automatic transmission, in which ATF plays a role working fluid, in a mechanical gearbox, oil serves to dissipate heat and reduce wear of rubbing pairs. But even in this operating mode, irreversible chemical-physical processes take place, the oil is filled with a suspension of wear products from rubbing metal surfaces. Such negative factors reduce the resource of synchronizers and gears. Therefore, it is still necessary to change the oil in manual transmissions, despite Renault's service recommendations.

We recommend making the first replacement for 60 thousand km. In the first tens of thousands of kilometers of a car's mileage, parts are lapped inside the gearbox. After the running-in period, the amount of wear products in the oil decreases, so the interval between subsequent replacements can be increased to 80-100 thousand km.

Oil change instructions

1. Place the machine on a level surface.

2. Unscrew the engine and transmission crankcase protectors. In some variations, the protection has a technological hole for unscrewing the drain plug.

3.Clean the gearbox housing from dirt, dust at the drain point and near the filler hole. If the drained oil is to be reused, the surface near the drain plug must be clean.

4.Square 8 unscrew drain plug... After loosening it with a knob / ratchet, we recommend turning the plug out by hand in order to quickly remove it from the stream of draining mining. An increase in backlash indicates the end of the thread.

If the color of the drained oil is unclear, with an emulsion, then there is water impurity in the oil.

5.Unscrew the filler plug from the end of the right side of the box with pliers. It is not necessary to change the gasket on this plug.

6. Reinstall the drain plug. It is advisable to replace the gasket.

7.To fill new oil, use a homemade funnel with a piece of hose or a special filling syringe technical fluids... Pass the hose from the top first engine compartment, then direct it from below into the filler hole.

Pour oil into the box until it flows out of the filler hole. The same method is used for in-line level checking. As soon as the oil stops flowing out of the filler hole (therefore, the car is parked on a flat surface), tighten the plug by hand, wipe off the oily traces and install the engine protection.

Something else useful for you:

  1. Drive at least 10-15 km before starting work so that the oil inside the gearbox warms up and becomes less viscous.
  2. If the seal on the filler plug is not torn and elastic, it can be reinstalled.
  3. Pay attention to the state of mining. The presence of an emulsion indicates mixing of oil with water. Often such a nuisance is a consequence of leaks in the boot of the inner CV joint of the left drive shaft. Therefore, inspect the boot for tears, loosening of the clamps. Pay attention to the gearbox breather, through which, in the event of an incorrect installation, water and dirt get into the manual transmission. Often, after unqualified repairs, masters neglect correct installation breather.
    4.Preventively rinse and blow compressed air breather. If pressure builds up inside the transmission, a fully clogged breather valve can be pushed out. If the problem is not noticed in time, dust, dirt and moisture will render the new transmission oil unusable.

Seal

Periodically, but at least once every 15,000 km of run, check the oil level in the transmission. The manufacturer does not provide for an oil change, but sometimes the need to change the oil may arise, for example, when switching to oil of a different viscosity, when repairing a gearbox, etc. Fill the gearbox with TRANSELF TRJ 75W-80 oil. The work is shown on the example of the JR5 gearbox. For the JHZ gearbox, these operations are performed in a similar way. The lack of oil in the gearbox can affect the "smoothness" of gear shifting, the appearance extraneous noise wherein.

Lada Largus is the best-selling Russian station wagon. Good driving characteristics, spacious salon, high comfort and reliability - all these qualities made the car popular even on secondary market. Simple construction allows you to service the car on your own, and thereby save on repairs. So, for self-service one of the most demanded procedures is not only replacement, but also selection in the gearbox. Any motorist can handle this. And yet, even in experienced car enthusiasts there may be questions about this. In this article, we will take a closer look at how to choose the right oil for mechanical Lada gearbox Largus.

Consider the criteria for choosing a transmission oil for Lada Largus. Choice question suitable lubricant for manual transmissions, it usually matures after 15-20 thousand kilometers, when it is time to change the fluid. The Russian station wagon is equipped with two types of gearboxes - JH1 (for a 1.4-liter engine) and jH3 (for a 1.6-liter engine)... Both boxes have a certain size of the clutch housing, and all other characteristics are absolutely similar. But despite this fact, the two gearboxes maintain the same oil with identical parameters, which will be discussed later in the article.

AvovAZ advises using original oil... Alternatively, we recommend Elf Tranself NFJ 75W80 branded grease. This is a semi-synthetic lubricant - the best option for the price and quality. As for the synthetic oil, it is labeled a little differently - 75W90. It is a more expensive grease and is excellent for low temperature conditions. The volume of oil poured into the Lada Largus box is 3.5 liters.

Consider other suitable oils for Lada Largus:

  1. Castrol Syntrans Transaxle 75W-90synthetic oil, the best analogue among competitors. In terms of quality and resistance to temperatures, such oil can be compared with the original. After filling with such oil, the gearbox will engage more smoothly and clearly. Also, the owners note the lack of crunch when turning on the reverse
  2. Motul Gear 300 75 W90 is another synthetic oil that gives the gearbox maximum performance. The properties of this oil have a positive effect on the smoothness and clarity of the inclusion of speeds. Crunch and noise are also excluded
  3. Shell Getriebeoil EP 75W90 GL4- frankly, not the most suitable oil for Lada Largus. This lubricant is a prime example of the fact that expensive oil is not always the best. There is no doubt about the quality of Shell products, but this product has incompatible parameters with the Lada Largus gearbox, or is simply not adapted for the Russian climate. Largus owners who have tasted this oil often complain of hum, noise, vibration and crunching of synchronizers.

Oil types

Let's consider each type of oil separately:

  • Mineral is the most readily available transmission lubricant. Recommended only for high mileage, and only in extreme cases. It is highly undesirable to use such oil when low temperatures... The point is that mineral oil is very thick and therefore freezes quickly. In the warm season, there are no special problems with the "mineral water", but all the same for Lada Largus it is better to choose a more worthy option
  • Semi-synthetics are the best option, golden mean between mineral water and expensive synthetics. This oil is obtained by mixing two oils. Wherein mineral oil put more than synthetics. This explains the relative cheapness of the product. Semi-synthetics are also recommended for machines with high mileage, but for Lada Largus it can be filled with any mileage. The main thing is that the temperature outside the car is not too low.
  • Synthetics are the most fluid and expensive oil. Such a lubricant will never freeze, even in the coldest weather. It can be used both in summer and winter. Perhaps synthetic oil is the best option for modern machines such as Lada Largus.

Output

Based on the information received that for Lada owners Largus should buy oil from trusted brands. Also select a liquid based on the parameters specified in the instructions for Lada Largus. Now there are many manufacturers of high-quality oils on the market, among them there are Russian firms such as Lukoil, Rosneft and others.
