"Priora" is the next development of the Russian concern "AvtoVAZ", a model that has completely displaced the family of tenth "Lada" models from the assembly line. By its type, the car belongs to the third class (about them below). The start of production dates back to 2007, with minor modifications it is still being produced.

Classification and digital code

The first LADA Priora left the assembly line in 2007, and since 2008 it has been on sale. VAZ produces "Priora" with three approved body modifications, not counting several developments, which were either produced in small volumes, or things did not go beyond the prototype. The initial development of "Priora" came with a sedan body and had an internal plant number VAZ 2170. The hatchback body - a five-door "Priora" - appeared a year after the start of production and received the number 2172. A small number of the 3-door Prior was also produced, which was a shortened model of the 5-door hatchback. The model with three doors did not receive a digital number, as it was a branch of the main line, but was called "Priora" -koupe. On the basis of "Priora" a model of a convertible was developed, but it never saw the light.

Release plans

According to unofficial data, the release of Priora was supposed to end in December 2015. However, according to the developers, the VAZ 2172 should leave the assembly line no earlier than 2018 due to obsolescence. At the same time, the media is spreading information that the production of Priora was stopped in September 2015 and will no longer be resumed.

As representatives of VAZ say, for half of September the monthly plan was fulfilled, at the same time "Priora" is gradually being replaced by "Lada Granta", which is cheaper in price and more comfortable.

It is also planned to develop a new automatic transmission of our own production, but it will be heavier than mechanics, therefore, Priora and then Vesta will receive more powerful springs and the entire suspension, which will ultimately have a positive effect on the overall comfort of AvtoVAZ cars.

Exterior

Now let's look at the restyling of the model. Before us is a VAZ 2172 hatchback. By changing the front and rear parts, the side view has changed, it has become more airy.

The front end received a new bumper, grille, daytime running lights fit neatly over the main headlights. Unlike the old models with flat headlights (almost all models from the Soviet era can boast of such), one glass clearly shows all, even the smallest parts of the headlights of the new "Priora".

The rear end has also undergone some changes, for example, LEDs appeared in these headlights. The lower edge of the rear bumper has also undergone significant changes. Interior

All the same VAZ 2172 hatchback, only from the inside. Unlike the outer part, which stands out strongly only by the hood, the interior has changed a lot after restyling.

The upholstery has been completely changed - instead of cheap, easily soiled plastic, the material "soft-bow" is now used. The dashboard was slightly widened towards the front passenger, and the display of the new multimedia system stood in the free space. At the same time, the display has the ability to show more than just the multimedia settings. The front armrest has slightly changed its shape, which, as the owners of the "Priora" note, creates minor problems when some gears are engaged.
