The recipe for the emergence of a new crossover is quite simple: the Koreans completely constructed it on the basis of the usual Santa Fe. The wheelbase has been stretched 100 mm: the large Santa Fe is 10 mm taller than its younger brother, 5 mm wider and 225 mm longer. This made it possible to provide 50 mm of additional legroom and 10 mm above the head for passengers in the second row of seats, and 35 mm and 33 mm, respectively, for passengers in the third row of seats. The Grand Santa Fe is offered exclusively with three rows of seats. Depending on the needs of the buyer, you can choose an interior designed for 6 or 7 people. The first one has two separate armchairs for the second row of seats, the second three-seater sofa, with the ability to fold the back in three parts in a ratio of 40:20:40.

The exterior of the Grand Santa Fe is distinguished by a new wider radiator grille, a more massive bumper, different lighting equipment and fog optics of the original design. The rear doors have become significantly longer (this is done to facilitate access to the third row of seats). Solid and volume cargo compartment: With the third row seats folded and taking into account the compartment hidden under the boot floor, it is 634 liters.

The interior of the car, in comparison with the small version, looks just huge. Inside, space was added to everyone - both the driver and passengers. At the same time, in terms of equipment and interior design, the Grand Santa Fe practically does not differ from the younger model. This engine has been used by Hyundai on its models since 2003. The second is a 2.2-liter turbodiesel with 197 hp. Fuel consumption declared by the manufacturer in the combined cycle at diesel unit is 8 liters per hundred, but gasoline already consumes 10 liters. The Hyundai FLEXSTEER three-mode steering system allows you to choose the steering model: Normal, Sport or Comfort.

The Russian representative office of Hyundai reassures motorists traditionally skeptical about diesel: heating is included as standard equipment fuel filtertherefore, as the Koreans assure, there should be no problems with starting the car in the severe Russian frosts.

Grand Santa Fe retained all the main advantages of the third generation Santa Fe - striking design, excellent comfort, efficiency and quality, while it has become much more spacious than the original version.

As sellers say, "Mokka" does not have a certain circle of admirers: the number of buyers includes people of both sexes and varying degrees of maturity - from youths to retirees. Not to please everyone, so our proposed algorithm should not be taken as a dogma.

Motor-transmission range: engines of three types (1.7 liter diesel, naturally aspirated gasoline engine 1.8 and a 1.4-liter petrol turbo engine), a 6-speed hydromechanical "automatic" plus two mechanical boxes - 5- and 6-speed. And two types of drive - front and full.

But these units are offered only in certain combinations, so it is more convenient to dance from the type of box. The global trend of gradually removing the driver from most routine worries has gained unprecedented strength. The times when each owner had to start the engine with the crank, manually setting the ignition timing and controlling the degree of heating by opening and closing the radiator shutters, have sunk into oblivion. I dare to assume that a manual transmission will soon go there too: buyers of crossovers prefer the “automatic”.

But with regard to motors, healthy conservatism reigns among buyers. Diesel scares off with a shorter service interval and increased sensitivity to fuel quality. Fears are not unfounded: in winter, and especially in the off-season, you can refuel with summer diesel fuel, which can turn into jelly even with a slight frost, even at decent gas stations.

The interior is in the top configuration "Cosmo".

Many people look askance at small-capacity engines: high techallowing you to remove a substantial amount from a small volume horse powerare more likely to repel than attract customers. And in the case of the "Mokka" the majority gives preference not to the 1.4 turbo engine, but to the 1.8 aspirated engine of the same power (140 hp). However, this song will not sound long: with the introduction from January 1, 2016 environmental standard 5th grade, the latter will begin to leave the stage.

The combination of the automatic transmission and the naturally aspirated 1.8 engine, which we have taken as a basis, is only possible for the all-wheel drive Mokka equipped with Enjoy or Cosmo. We will focus on them.

By paying 45,000 rubles, you will get a two-tone interior. The “top” audio system of the Radio CD600 is easily identifiable by the large color display.

The difference in the cost of these configurations is 65,000 rubles, but among additional options in the more expensive "Cosmo" there are not so many useful ones. The combination seat trim looks fancy, but the leather in cars of this level is usually faux. You can do without an armrest for back row passengers - this is not a business class. And changing the color of 18-inch alloy wheels from silver to dark silver is not worth that much money. Only the bluetooth and the rear-view camera are tempting, but they can be obtained in another way - by ordering the “Fun & Drive” equipment package for the car in a simpler version “Injoy” for 25,000 rubles.

From the list of options, we will definitely choose the side curtain airbags (9,500 rubles): in the event of an accident, such protection will not hurt. I liked the integrated in rear bumper Bicycle transport system: The FlexFix retractable ramp can carry up to three bikes! But the price bites - 26,000 rubles. Quick release roof mounts are much cheaper. We will not install tire pressure sensors either: they will cost almost like a brand new tire - 6,500 rubles. A sunroof with dual-zone climate control is also useless in our opinion.

Summarize? All-wheel drive "Opel-Mokka" in the "Indjoy" configuration, with a 1.8 gasoline aspirated engine and a 6-speed "automatic" costs 1,015,000 rubles. We add a package of options "Fan and Drive" and curtains - the total is 1,049,500 rubles. We will not pay extra 12,000 rubles for painting the body in metallic: "Mokka" looks elegant even in the basic white color.

In any case, the seat profile is the same - only the upholstery options change. Leather armchairs are traditionally relied on an electric drive.

There have been a lot of cars in my life, it all started with my father's penny and further up the hill. Mokka chose consciously, before Mokka was Antara, therefore there is something to compare (Antara was the first Opel). Past cars will not be discussed because we are not talking about them.

So OPEL MOKKA in endjoy configuration, that is, everything except the sunroof, an enlarged monitor with navigation and some moldings. Bought from the best price / quality / package ratio. There was a special offer in the salon, so this equipment cost 860 tons

Appearance: well, here the taste and color, to each his own and so on. I like. The color white was also taken deliberately - it seems to me that this car is more suitable, and my daughter also chose “I like white” well, white is so white. In terms of size, I can say with confidence that it is very convenient to operate this car exactly in the city. Normal clearance (the lip under the bumper has already been made smaller, in contrast to 2013) allows you to park on the curb, and not large EXTERNAL dimensions climb into small parking pockets.

Engine and automatic transmission: engine 1.8, conventional aspirated 140 hp. Automatic transmission is also a conventional hydromechanical unit with six steps. The mileage is now 1,700 km, but now the fuel consumption in the city, with moderate traffic jams (time of holidays and vacations) is 12 liters per 100 km. According to the BC, it can be seen that the consumption is falling because the first hundred had 17 liters per 100 km. I like the work of the engine and automatic transmission in a pair, but considering that I drive calmly, measuredly. I don’t press the gas to the floor, I don’t scoff at the car. With such a driving manner, there is a confident feeling that the power reserve is quite enough.

Salon: here of course GM is great. Everything is convenient, everything is at hand. Landing is adjustable to suit any desire (you want it lower, you want it high). The seats are comfortable, even for me (height 188 cm, weight 120 kg) and with all my dimensions I am really comfortable. A son with a height of 180 cm rides behind me and also does not feel any inconvenience, there is enough space in the back even with the seats completely pushed back. The trunk is certainly not big, but all the purchases of my wife, and these are products for the whole family for a week, come in without effort. I don't see any sense in having a more spacious trunk for myself. If you need to go on vacation with the whole family and at the same time take a lot of things, then we will buy a roof rack.

Suspension: again for an amateur. I would like a little softer, but then you need to put 16 wheels, and appearance there is no desire to change. But on the move it is good, it does not collapse in turns, the unevenness of the road passes well. Four-wheel drive I haven't felt it yet, but its device is the same as on Antara, so that's enough for me. Antara spent last winter in Rostov (this is when they showed on TV how snowmobiles drive around the city) and did not disappoint.

Ergonomics: The climate works without glitches and perfectly fulfills its functions (15 .08 in Rostov-on-Don it was 42 degrees Celsius). Everything is at hand where you expect. Onboard computer, you need to figure it out, while there is no need. The standard audio system is enough for me (the desire to chatter the volume so that it can be heard in 2 quarters has already passed). Plays hard 4. The bundle comes with a USB connector, which is very convenient. Well, a 220 V outlet at the feet of the rear passengers is generally an irreplaceable thing, my daughter connects a tablet or DVD player there and there are no problems with the battery charge.

The overview is great. I love the high seating position so the seat is set high. The racks don't really bother me. It is not very convenient to look back (small rear glass), but then the driving experience different cars helps, all the same 23 years of experience.
