Opel insignia country tourer specifications. Long test Opel Insignia Country Tourer: one color, different shades

Look at the photos. And don't try to find ten differences. They are not here. Externally, these two "Opel" are almost identical up to the nameplates and design rims(there is a little more chrome on one machine, but that doesn't count). The interiors are also "mirrored". But under the hood of one of the station wagons there is a gasoline engine, and the second Insignia Country Tourer is equipped with a turbodiesel. A trifle? But now we can say for sure - these versions have so much different tempers as if they were developed by antipode engineers.

But first things first. What is the Insignia Country Tourer? We drove it for the first time in the fall of 2013, when Dmitry Laskov was testing the updated Insignia. Then the acquaintance turned out to be superficial - the organizers allocated machines with manual box, which are not for sale in Russia. And then Timofey Isaev met with an off-road station wagon in Austria in the winter. But again it was not full test, but rather notes about opel driving courses.

In general, it was not possible to draw up a complete portrait of the new model. Meanwhile, the Insignia Country Tourer deserves more attention. After all, Opel has stepped into the raised station wagon segment for the first time. This niche is not to say that it is full of bestsellers, but it has its own buyer - these are the people for whom it is important increased cross-country ability without sacrificing the comfort, practicality and dynamics of conventional passenger cars. Interestingly, among the readers of Auto Mail.Ru, as shown by our poll, half of them prefer off-road wagons to crossovers.

The interior looks solid, and the fit is very comfortable, but general impression spoil small punctures on the part of the electronics. Either the screen turns off, then the touch panels refuse to respond to pressing ... Plus, in sunny weather, an elegant bend that encircles the front panel at the top reflects strongly in the glass. And coffee lovers will note that the cup holders are too deep, even for large cups of cappuccino or Americano.

Moreover, when choosing a car of such a plan, I would pay attention to Opel almost in the first place. After all, first everyone looks at the price. And it is very attractive - from 1,370,000 rubles. Theoretically, Seat Leon X-Perience should also be cheaper, but they are more modest in size and have not yet entered our market. And all other rivals are more expensive: Volkswagen Passat Alltrack (from 1,656,000 rubles), Volvo XC70 (from 1,469,000 rubles), Subaru Outback (from 1,519,000 rubles), Citroen C5 Cross tourer(from 1,454,000 rubles) ...

Is the choice obvious? Don't jump to conclusions. You study in more detail the Opel price list and you understand that the Germans offer only front-wheel drive versions of the Insignia Country Tourer for the starting price. True, they are quite richly equipped, there is no catch. Already in the database there is an adaptive light, a two-zone climate, keyless access, rear view camera, advanced Intellilink multimedia ... But all-wheel drive modifications dominate in this class, and you will have to pay much more money for them. 1,470,000 rubles for the two-liter diesel version and 1,540,000 rubles for the petrol 2.0 Turbo (both cars with six-speed automatic transmissions).

The Country Tourer version appeared in the lineup Opel insignia only with the recent restyling of the model and therefore has not yet had time to become familiar on the streets. People around you constantly pay attention to the car, ask questions in the spirit of "what kind of station wagon is this?", And the majority also praise the stylish design

Thus, the Insignia Country Tourer directly invades the rivals' domain, and we will definitely compare them in the head-to-head struggle a little later. In the meantime, let's talk about which version you should take a closer look at and why.

At first glance, everything is clear here. Diesel is more profitable. With absolutely identical configuration, it costs 70,000 rubles cheaper. With this money, for example, you can order a leather interior and a Bose audio system. Or panoramic roof coupled with a set of driver assistants based on the "all-seeing eye" - the Opel Eye smart camera. The fuel consumption of the 2.0 CDTI is two liters lower (in the combined cycle, 6.4 liters versus 8.5 liters per 100 km for a gasoline car), and even transport tax twice smaller! Well, the pay off for this, most likely, will have to be increased noise and dynamic qualities: gasoline unit(249 forces versus 163 for a diesel) is able to take a "hundred" in 8.8 s, that is, two seconds faster. Such conclusions can be made by examining the passport data of cars.

However, real life makes its own adjustments. And a trip to Karelia of 2,500 km long on a diesel Insignia Country Tourer easily shaken the theoretical calculations. First, the car was loud outside, but quiet inside. If even passers-by sometimes cautiously turned around at the roar of the engine (what if the tractor rolls from behind ?!), the passengers did not feel either vibrations or the characteristic diesel knock. The second surprise is dynamics. Passport 10.8 s - the figure is by no means small, but at the same time the station wagon easily went out to overtake and never made one think about the lack of traction. The main thing is to learn how to properly handle the gas pedal. If you just stupidly press it to the floor, forcing the kick-down to work, nothing good will come of it - first you get a long pause, then a jerk from a belated inclusion downshift and screaming at maximum speed diesel. All this is very unpleasant, but if you "open" progressively, pressing the gas more smoothly, you will get excellent acceleration within the maximum thrust of the engine. What you need for long voyages.

But the fuel consumption was even lower than expected. Passport 5 liters in the extra-urban cycle is really quite an achievable figure. That is, for example, from Moscow to St. Petersburg Insignia Country Tourer can easily travel on one fuel tank.

You just need to be patient and train your hands. This is because the chassis on a diesel car is tuned, frankly, doubtful. Separately, everything seems to be good - the suspension perfectly swallows holes of almost all sizes, the steering wheel provides comprehensive information about the position of the front wheels. But when the irregularities and the turn merge together, the "disco" begins ... In technical terminology, this is called kinematic misalignment: when the working suspension causes the steering wheel to turn spontaneously. In general, this is typical for condo SUVs with a hard front axle, but the Insignia Country Tourer with independent suspensions, alas, drives the same. The deeper the rut or the higher the bump, the more the steering wheel breaks out of your hands. You can't relax even for a minute!

Could it be a defect in a specific instance? Let's hope, since the test car has covered over 20,000 journalistic kilometers, which is a very serious experience. In addition, the "younger" on the odometer gasoline Insignia Country Tourer behaved completely differently. The high smoothness of the ride has been preserved, and the steering precision has risen to new heights - even on the comb, the steering wheel will not move. And how much more pleasant it became to go!

But you have to get used to the motor. Like most other Opel supercharged engines, this "four" suffers from a noticeable turbo lag at low revs. However, in the middle, it comes to life and confidently throws the car forward. Although, I must admit, you expect more from almost 250 forces. In addition, the excitement quickly fades away when you look at the on-board computer screen. With active driving, fuel consumption easily goes beyond the 15-liter mark and even with quiet driving on the highway rarely drops below ten. So it's really expensive to drive a top station wagon.

  • Opel can be proud of these headlights. Adaptive "xenon" perfectly illuminates the road in all situations and adjusts itself to the surrounding conditions, recognizing city streets or a suburban road
  • Already in the base of the station wagon there are beautiful 18-inch wheels (and the disc pattern can be chosen from two options), and for a surcharge of 14,000 rubles, 19-inch "rollers" are offered. But it's not worth chasing the size. The regular Continental ContiSportContact5 tires turned out to be quite gentle even for light off-road: their sidewalls are easy to puncture, and such rubber costs a lot

Of course, these brotherly machines have similar features. Both pleasant and not very pleasant. For example, the standard tires Continental ContiSportContact5 with the dimension 235 / 50R18 proved to be very delicate, even despite the fact that they bear the SUV logo and, in theory, should withstand a blow better than ordinary rubber. During the test, we had to repair the wheels twice. Moreover, punctures happened in harmless situations and in the most difficult place - on the sidewall. Yes, it is impossible to remove responsibility from the mechanics who released the car for a test with overpressure in the tires. And from us, because before the long-distance departure, the car was not checked properly. Still, on a car with an off-road slope, I would like to have more puncture-resistant tires.

Fortunately, the equipment of the Insignia Country Tourer included a very convenient set of tools and a full-fledged "spare" - it is smaller than the main wheels (17 inches), but, unlike a slender "stowaway", it allows you to reach civilization in almost any situation.

Although, in truth, the Insignia Country Tourer itself will not allow you to climb into the distant jungle. With a declared ground clearance of 175 mm, it hangs on the rapids long before a serious off-road begins. And the front aerodynamic skirt usually takes the first contact with the obstacle - it is located only 14 cm from the ground! Let it be just a flexible apron, but tearing it off is a piece of cake. Yes, and there are questions about the resistance of the "protective" plastic body kit - on both cars, the front bumper covers have already begun to peel off, and obviously not in the places of contact with the ground ...

This is all the more insulting when you consider that the all-wheel drive on the Insignia Country Tourer is very advanced. Power take-off on rear wheels goes by means of a multi-plate clutch, traditional for such machines, however interwheel differential here it is active, with a full mechanical interlock under the control of electronics. It works so clearly that sometimes it is possible to put the station wagon into a light power slide even with the stabilization system turned on - there is no critical loss of stability. And the car does not care about diagonal hanging.

The stated ground clearance is only 175 mm, but only 140 mm under the aerodynamic skirt of the front bumper. Which, given the long wheelbase and impressive overhangs, makes the Insignia Country Tourer an unimportant rogue. For a station wagon, even a typical bumpy primer can become an insurmountable obstacle - the car simply hangs on the doorsteps and bumped into the ground with a bumper

But the function of switching the chassis modes, on the contrary, did not give the expected effect. The difference between the comfortable Tour, the usual position and the Sport was so negligible that you soon forget about this option and remember it only when a friend asks about the assignment of the keys on the front panel. However, from the outside, the effect is really noticeable - the interior lighting changes, and the digital instrument cluster, if desired, can generally be given a different look. By the way, in my opinion, it was the Sport style design that turned out to be the most informative in this case.

In general, the Insignia Country Tourer has a lot of all sorts of fashionable things. But the way they work clearly shows that Opel is having a hard time raising the funds to fine-tune its models. After all, this can no longer be attributed to the fatigue of cars - problems happened with both diesel and petrol version... Yes, these are small things, but they are very annoying. For example, when the ventilation of the chair is turned on, it begins to hum and vibrate, while the climate control itself is made touch-sensitive and reacts to touches every other time (this is in the summer, and what will be in the winter?). The InttelliLink multimedia system, which was so much praised by the opelevites during the presentation, upset with a glare screen, confusing interface, illogical controls and an abundance of small glitches. On one machine, for example, the screen periodically went out, although the music continued to play as if nothing had happened, and on the second one there were problems with the synchronization of the phone, although the handset itself was the same in both cases. And also the control system of "dead" zones periodically failed, the arrow of the virtual speedometer twitched, the radar of active cruise control, when a passing vehicle was detected, set the car too roughly even at the maximum detection distance ...

In other words, the Insignia Country Tourer still has room to grow in this direction. Although it is good that these systems are available at all - the competitors of most of the electronic arsenal of Opel are not even in the list of options. There is little left to do - to bring everything to mind. After all, we managed to cope with the “mechanical” component: make the chairs chic with a lot of adjustments, and choose the shape of the steering wheel as it should ... windshield, yes, the cupholders were not excessively deep (a glass of coffee, for example, falls through completely), and one could put five points for arranging the driver's seat.

However, I am already getting ahead of myself. We'll be doing a comparative test shortly with the Insignia Country Tourer and then we will know what Opel was able to do. better than competitors and which is worse. And it will be a gasoline car that will represent the German school - I personally have no doubts about choosing an engine. Let a diesel engine be more economically justified, but competent chassis settings are that iron argument that cannot be overcome even with a ruble.

The cars shown in the photos are externally really identical to each other, but still diesel car has an important feature that the gasoline version does not have. Whoever calls it first will receive a prize from AutoMail. Ru". We are waiting for the correct answer in the comments! Little tip - this difference lies in technology ...

Replacing the Vectra in 2008, Insignia is already writing its own history: the 2013 restyling is not only a visible touch-up, but also a change in the line of motors. And also - the emergence of a version of the all-wheel drive station wagon with an increased clearance of 175 mm Insignia Country Tourer in the "meadow", where Volvo XC70, Subaru Outback and the like have been successfully "grazing" for a long time.

The application, I must say, is serious, at least in terms of price: starting from 1,741,000 rubles. - a small dirty trick to many direct competitors, given that there is no alternative (“mechanics”) to a 6-speed “automatic” in this case. For this money there will be a 2-liter turbodiesel (160 hp), slightly more expensive (1,806,000 rubles) - a 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engine (170 hp), however, front-wheel drive.

4x4 versions - only with 2-liter engines: the same turbodiesel or its boosted to 195 hp. option, or with the most powerful gasoline 249-horsepower 2-liter unit.

The latter, respectively, is the most expensive - 1,976,000 rubles. without options (195-horsepower turbodiesel is 20,000 rubles cheaper). The standard equipment of the top-end configuration includes a rear electronically controlled limited slip differential, designed to improve roadholding on the highway and improve off-road ability.

For its segment, the interior is obscenely sporty and rich. Its front design resembles the cockpit of a racing boat. And the quality of the materials is quite premium

In my opinion...

Opelevsky Country Tourer should not be set in three quarters, as here in the photographs, but strictly in profile. Sit on the bench opposite and get aesthetic pleasure. Impossible to be handsome! Beak, swift - a sedan and no hold of a candle. And besides, if you lift the tailgate, it damnably reminds you of the Saab 900 so dear to your heart. By the way, the driving habits of this station wagon also revived in the memory the clan of Swedish "rocket cars" of the last generations before bankruptcy. The steering wheel with a thickened rim lying in the hand is superbly comfortable, the "thoroughbred" dense chassis, clear brakes without a shadow of lethargy ... And how energetic the turbo engine is when accelerating a heavy car!

In my opinion...

A body kit made of black matte plastic, encircling the car, means readiness for off-road sorties, or at least a primer. But the Insignia Country Tourer's claimed ground clearance is 175mm. That's just 15mm more than the regular Insignia Sports Tourer. However, even this modest figure is hard to believe - except to tear off the skirt under the front bumper. But, I suppose, this will happen at the very first exit from the asphalt, because with a car length of almost 5 m and with such overhangs, one can forget about geometric cross-country ability. Volvo XC70 and Subaru Outback with a clearance of 210 and 200 mm, respectively, are much preferable for owners of a summer cottage in a godforsaken outback. The main trump card of the "lifted" Insignia is four-wheel drive. Together with excellent handling, it fully reveals the character of the car in the rain or on a winter road. True, the difference in the operation of the shock absorbers in the Sport and Tour modes is almost not felt - apparently, the considerable weight of the car affects. As a result, this is just a convenient practical station wagon that is pleasant to drive. Only one drive for opening the trunk to different heights is worth something! Although it's a shame that in the city it is possible to hang out the front bumper not over any curb.

In my opinion...

In a kaleidoscope test cars only a few leave a truly vivid impression. So, Insignia Country Tourer did it. Despite the fact that I am not a fan of Opel, I did not find any obvious flaws in behavior on the road or equipment in terms of the price and purpose of this model. Everything is more than worthy: both looks and rides richer than you expect. And the ergonomic progress in comparison with the pre-styling Insignia is obvious. There, I was annoyed to a large extent by the center console with a huge number of small buttons that were difficult to hit blindly. Apparently, I'm not the only one so finicky, and now the Insignia has quite sane climate and multimedia control panels. But the main thing, perhaps, is not this. The wide range of adjustments of the driver's seat, its shape and density of padding make it really comfortable to sit behind the wheel for a long time, which is important in long-distance autotravels.

With regard to driving performance, then everything is very balanced here. Quite rather big car unexpectedly easily follows the informative gas pedal, as if it "writes" the trajectory set by the steering wheel on the high-speed arc, but at the same time it practically does not make the driver "sweat" when driving. The driving process happens as if by itself, and even road irregularities due to the comfortable energy-intensive suspension remain in a different, outside the cabin, reality. So is everything perfect? Of course not. There would be a car, but there is always something to complain about. In this case, I don't want to do this. In general, I liked this car the way it is, and I forgive her little things ...

Outcome

The heirs of Adam Opel do not eat their bread in vain and honor the precepts of the founder of the brand. Opel Insignia Country Tourer is another vivid proof of this - this car is made with care for the driver and passengers. And this, perhaps, is more important than the super-prestige of the brand, expensive "show-offs" and the desire of the manufacturer to make them the coolest. In this case, the key word is "balance". It is also very worthy driving performance, comfort, design, level of equipment and materials. The price and that, against the background of competitors, is sane, although there is no need to talk about wide availability.

Opel Insignia Country Tourer 2018 review: model appearance, interior, specifications, security systems, prices and equipment. At the end of the article - a video panorama of the model!

Contents of the review:

In early February 2017, Opel introduced the second generation station wagon Opel Insignia Country Tourer, whose official debut took place in March of the same year at the Geneva Motor Show.

In comparison with the first generation, the car received a number of visual changes, modernized interior design and technical components. Moreover, the manufacturer has significantly expanded the list of additional equipment available for an additional fee.

Before moving on to the review, we note that the Country Tourer version is an "all-terrain" version of the Insignia Sports Tourer sports station wagon, which has received a lot of positive reviews both among ordinary people and among specialized journalists and automotive critics.

Appearance Opel Insignia Country Tourer 2018

Despite the fact that the Opel Insignia Country Tourer is a station wagon, the car looks no less stylish and expressive than the Insignia hatchback.

In the front of the body the manufacturer has placed spectacular LED headlights, a neat false radiator grille and an aerodynamic front bumper with brutal plastic overlays that allow you to instantly identify the Country Tourer version.

Stylish and dynamic station wagon profile eye-catching with spectacular "splashes" on the sidewalls, extended wheel arches, a sloping roofline and a spectacularly beaten window line.

Most station wagons on the market have frankly boring and awkward stern, against which the Insignia Country Tourer looks like a real "model". Poop pleases the eye with spectacular parking lights, brutal rear bumper with a pair of trapeziums of the exhaust system, as well as a stylish spoiler located at the top of the tailgate.

In general, the Sport Tourer modification with all its appearance suggests that the car is able to confidently move not only on the highway, but also on country roads, which will be especially appreciated by lovers of an active lifestyle.

External dimensions off-road station wagon are:

Length, mm4985
Width, mm1863
Height, mm1500
Wheelbase, mm2829
Clearance, mm180

In comparison with the regular Insignia Tourer, the ride height has increased by 20 mm and is now 180 mm, which is even more than some crossovers.

Customers can choose from a wide range of body colors, allowing to satisfy the needs of both female and male audiences, and will complement the image with several variations in the design of rims.

Salon Opel Insignia Country Tourer 2018

The interior design of the Country Tourer is exactly the same as that of the regular Insignia: noble architecture, first-class materials and impeccable quality assembly. In addition, the station wagon's interior pleases with impeccable ergonomics, so that even when driving for the first time, the driver will not have any problems with the location of the buttons and switches.

The driver's cockpit features a full-color instrument cluster and a beautiful three-spoke multifunction steering wheel. The center part of the dashboard sports the IntelliLink multimedia center last generation(with a display of 7 or 8 inches), as well as a laconic control unit for the interior climate.

First row passengers offered comfortable chairs with excellent lateral support, a lot of adjustments and other benefits of civilization. An impressive central tunnel "flows" between the seats, on which the button is located parking brake, gearshift lever and a number of auxiliary buttons.

Second row of seats hospitable for three passengers, and there is enough space even for three adult riders. The seats can be folded in a ratio of 40:20:40, which opens up ample opportunities for transforming the interior.

Trunk volume impressive - in the stowed state it is equal to 560 liters, with the second row of seats completely removed - 1665 liters. The manufacturer placed a stowaway and a small set of tools necessary on the road in the underground of the trunk.

Technical characteristics of the all-road station wagon Opel Insignia Country Tourer 2018

To choose potential buyers the manufacturer offers a couple of gasoline trucks and one diesel:
  1. 1.5-liter petrol turbo engine, squeezing out 165 "horses" and 250 Nm of peak thrust. With it, the average fuel consumption of a car is only 6.4 l / 100 km, but the manufacturer does not disclose the exact dynamic characteristics, although according to insider information, acceleration from 0 to 100 requires a little more than 10 seconds, and maximum speed reaches 205 km / h.
  2. Gasoline 2-liter turbo engine with a volume of 2 liters and 260 hp. This power unit consumes an average of 8.9 liters of fuel per 100 km and provides acceleration to hundreds in less than 9 seconds. (although the exact data is not known).
  3. Bi-turbocharged diesel engine with a volume of 2 liters, generating 170 (400 Nm) or 210 hp (480 Nm peak torque). With it, the all-terrain station wagon spends about 5.5 l / 100 km in mixed driving mode and, according to the manufacturer, has excellent dynamic characteristics, although the exact numbers are not announced.
Regardless of which engine is chosen, it is exclusively paired with automatic gearbox for 6 or 8 speeds. Moreover, all versions are equipped with an all-wheel drive transmission with individual activation clutches. rear axle, allowing you to vary the rotary thrust depending on the conditions of movement.

We should also highlight the presence of the adaptive FlexRide chassis, which has three operating modes: Sport, Tour and Standart. Depending on the selected mode and road conditions, the FlexRide system automatically adjusts the settings different systems auto (steering, gearbox, thrust and acceleration vector), which has a positive effect on handling, comfort and safety.

At the heart of the Opel Insignia Country Tourer 2018 is the E2XX "trolley" that is well known from other Opel models, which involves the use of MacPherson struts on the front and multi-link system on the rear axle. Video panorama of the Opel Insignia Country Tourer 2018:

Despite the fact that "Country", he is not dressed in a country style, under his lacquer one can see the body of a self-confident all-rounder in a fashionable all-wheel drive crossover trend. full of its long name. "Opel Insignia Country Tourer" - as it is written in the Russian passport - it is now in the pocket of the owner, who gave the family a trip to the most beautiful place in the Dolomites. Arrive at the distant snow-capped peaks by February 14th.

The off-road look is accentuated by a plastic body kit, and the trunk sets the tourist mood.

They cannot flop into the mud of the Moscow region thaw with such a light ground clearance - the Za Rulem testers measured only 145 mm. But maybe they were mistaken, the manufacturer's father calls it 3 cm more? In any case, it is better not to turn this mole to the camera. The situation can be aggravated by a long and low nose - the angle of entry for the Insignia is only 14.2º versus 18-19º for competitors in the Country style.

Insignia Country Tourer: in addition to modest ground clearance fears
cause the transmission protruding from the protection and the low-hanging exhaust system.

Although, if you really do not fall into a redneck, "Tourer" does not so easily fall on the chest. Four-wheel drive with a Haldex clutch manages to push it out of the rolled track. fourth generation with the support of a cross-axle differential with blocking. Contribute and new suspension"Flexride" together with increased, as already mentioned, ground clearance and protection under the front and rear.

The Insignia Country Tourer also dislikes pits.

At the time of departure, the Opel Insignia Country Tourer was freshly washed, brilliantly polished and flaunted with the owner's skis on the roof. Bottom protection, expanders wheel arches, plastic pads, plus elegant 18-inch wheels with low-profile winter tires Nokian. He had already rolled up his sleeves, expressing his readiness for a long march into the snow-covered Alps, with a stop at Lake Garda.

In harmony with nature.

A 2-liter turbodiesel heart with 163 horsepower almost jumped out of the Turer's chest.
Recently "Opel Insignia Country Tourer" worked a lot on itself, was ready to surprise with good traction and readiness for fast acceleration even from 100 km / h. Its automatic transmission also knows its stuff - the gearbox allows the engine to spin up superbly, briskly climbing all six steps, even in the comfortable Tour mode. This makes the hostess very happy, especially when it is necessary to catch on to the leader. And if you use the paddle shifters, downshifting in manual mode and adding "throttle", few people will be able to break away from the "Turer" in the left lane.

The Insignia's next-generation IntelliLink multimedia system features an 8-inch color touch screen for control. Immediately after switching on, the driver has access to all essential functions and additional menus such as radio stations, song titles, phone connection or 3D navigation (including touchpad controls), steering wheel buttons, voice commands or the revolutionary letter recognition touchpad. Multimedia system IntelliLink can be personalized with up to 60 personal preferences (e.g. playlists, phone contacts, addresses in navigation system). A Facebook application will appear by September.

After traffic jams due to road repairs, "Opel Insignia Country Tourer" involuntarily increased the pace, risking running into police fines. But it would be a shame to arrive at the goal on the wrong day. On twisty roads, the Sport setting instantly turned on at the push of a button, changing the damping stiffness and adding confidence when cornering. Is it not so, the "Opel Insignia Country Tourer" with its smooth acceleration and slight body vibrations is pleasant to drive.

On board the Turer, a system that reads road signs, heated steering wheel, parking assistant, as well as active cruise control, which allows you to keep your distance from the vehicle in front.

There are three easy-to-read scales on the dashboard, in the central part there is a spacious information board - here the fuel consumption indicator is very entertaining. Another impressive screen is on the center console. You can display data on it both with buttons and using the touchpad - this is a smooth command field behind the gear lever. On it, the hostess can move the cursor on the screen with an elegant finger, which she did on the road. At first it seems more complicated than it actually is, but thanks to the precise sampling of the cursor on the screen, she managed to get to the desired field without any problems after a short training. In addition, control is possible directly through the touch screen.

But the back couch is cramped. The height of the stock is at least, the space for the feet is also end-to-end. But the backrest folds out perfectly evenly. The spare wheel has eaten up a lot of space in the trunk. It's calmer on the road with her, but things are cramped. There is an electric button for closing the trunk - a rarity in the class. Visibility through rear glass lame, it is acceptable for a station wagon, but it is not supported side mirrors- too small. But yellow icons light up in them when passing vehicles appear.

The navigator, which is optionally much cheaper than the competitors, worked perfectly well. Looking at it and fuel consumption, without refusing to accelerate, we covered about 930 km on one tank (70 liters).
In Italy diesel "Turer" from Moscow was met by its diesel and gasoline 2-liter German brothers, albeit with manual transmissions, which are not supplied to Russia. To celebrate, they began to pose for the camera, climbing hills and emitting a fetid smell of burnt clutch disc linings. The manufacturer clearly saved on this unit, otherwise the linings would not have burned when maneuvering a long and heavy machine. "My Tourer" with an automatic transmission did not emit such smells.

Diesel and gasoline 2-liter "tourer" with mechanical box gear. The back is bright led lights and brake lights.

Insignia Country Tourer with new 2-liter 249 hp gasoline engine Ecotech even envied the fuel consumption of about 7 liters per hundred of the diesel Turer along the eastern route. From his very quiet voice against the background of a diesel engine, one does not expect the brutality of his character, which manifests itself in 400 newton meters and when climbing uphill. Here, on the serpentines, the diesel Turer held up with dignity, but lagged behind the petrol brother.

The Insignia Country Tourer with a 2-liter petrol engine is quiet and fast, it stands perfectly on the road with minimal roll in corners.

So, at once three "Opel Insignia Country Tourer" climb 1500 m up to the resort of Selva Gardena. The first with a margin is "Turer" with a gasoline engine, followed by a diesel one with a manual transmission and quite a row of "Turer" with Russian license plates.

Diesel unit 2.0 CDTI with a capacity of 120 kW / 163 liters. with., developing 380 Nm of peak torque thanks to the function of a short-term increase in thrust. This engine available for both all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive vehicles. Even in Russia, a 1.6 turbo petrol, 170 hp is offered for front-wheel drive. And the line of three engines is headed by the new petrol turbo engine 2.0 ECOTEC Direct Injection, which, thanks to the power of 184 kW / 250 hp. with. provides excellent dynamics. Developing an impressive 400 Nm of torque, this engine is equipped with a system direct injection, guarantees excellent traction on all-wheel drive. All three engines are offered only with an automatic transmission.

Three languages are spoken here - Ladin, Italian, German. On the roads more often than others drive "Audi - Allroad Quattro". Those with a four on board, in Russia with the same options, are half a million rubles more expensive than the Turer, and even closer.

Few people can boast of such a comfortable driver's seat with good lateral support, as in the "Tourer". Adjustable, sculpted chairs, covered in fine nappa leather, with retractable knee bolsters, brighten up hours of travel. They do not get sick even if distracted by the beautiful winter landscapes.

A very nice and pleasant to the touch and for the eye panel, a thick, cut-off steering wheel, three pedals for steering with a manual transmission.

It is convenient to control the heating and ventilation of the seats thanks to the touch buttons.
And the mistress even likes the somewhat excessive plumpness of the steering wheel.
In the shade of the mountains, the temperature in the cabin drops. Not a problem - you just need to activate the heating, but this turns out to be not an easy task, set the dual-zone climate control to the desired mode. The new touch control system has no feedback and requires very accurate finger movements.

Slightly tinted headlamp lenses with chrome inserts along with L-shaped LED running lights(depending on the configuration) indicate that they did not save on quality.

On February 13 in the evening, as luck would have it, a heavy snowfall broke out, scaring away the usual cars from the road. And if for the sake of reducing appetite in normal mode, four-wheel drive gives 90% of traction to the front wheels, now this has changed. As soon as the sensors detect slippage, the Haldex electronically controlled clutch changes the distribution of torque in favor of the rear wheels - up to 100%. So the promising adventures of snowy and sometimes icy roads seem to be just the most suitable for the "Country Tourer".

Striking design elements highlighting the Turer's power can also be seen at the rear of the car.

Doubts are caused only by the tires, they do not have the usual spikes. But the grip is not lost. In addition, an electronic differential lock distributes the power between the rear wheels. Even on steep terrain, the Country Tourer climbs calmly up the snow with a slight rear axle skid. Since everything is so hassle-free, you can even turn off the traction control for the experiment. But the ESP remains constantly active, allowing slight backward wagging, and this delivers real pleasure in tight curves. If you enter a corner too quickly, the electronics will again return the Tourer to the correct trajectory.

Five classy handling, comfortable seats, stylish design.

February 14 - we arrived, and a bright red rose appeared in the salon of "My Turer", which is presented in Italy on Valentine's Day with a hint of feelings that must always be fought for.

This is a huge all-wheel drive diesel station wagon with decorative "off-road" plastic around the perimeter, ultra-low ground clearance, a chic all-wheel drive transmission with an active rear differential, excellent handling and very high-quality interior trim. You will probably have a question - why do you need four-wheel drive in the absence of clearance?

Let's figure it out together. Go!

2. Opel cars are primarily about design. It's bad that in pursuit of the beautiful appearance the functional characteristics of the vehicle are lost. The lowered roof looks stylish, but it is about the same inconvenience as a narrow opening. luggage compartment... With an overall length of almost 5 meters, the luggage compartment is very modest in size.

3. Do you know what is the curb weight of the diesel Country Tourer? If you add one bag of cement to the trunk, exactly 2 tons will come out. And this is not frame SUV, this is an ordinary passenger station wagon. Knowledge about the mass will be useful to us further, remember this nuance.

4. I will not measure the ground clearance with a tape measure and compare it with the passport data: see for yourself. Enough for driving on asphalt. On the ground - carefully and carefully. It will be possible to rest your wheels on the curb only if this curb is laid with three layers of new asphalt.

5. Such a low ground clearance completely contradicts the stylish "all-terrain" body kit. Maybe it is needed so that in the event of a collision with an obstacle, the plastic body kit is primarily damaged, and not the metal parts of the body?

6. The interior looks expensive and of high quality. Black headlining, soft-touch leather, use of scented plastic, just like on cars premium segment... Very comfortable sports seats with developed lateral support and a retractable knee bolster.

7. There is much less free space on the second row. The backs of the seats are heavily piled back (remember the slope of the roof) - tall passengers will not like it here.

8. Sad mouth of the luggage compartment with a gigantic lid (minus 20 centimeters in depth). Because the working rear optics remained on the lid - duplicate lights are installed in the opening itself (a similar design is used on Audi Q-series). The width of the opening is generally quite modest, the same applies to the height. Undoubtedly, compared to the sedan, the luggage compartment is larger here, but its practicality is in doubt. Looking ahead, I also note that when hanging diagonally, close back door the electric drive alone will not be able to, the body is slightly warped.

9. Power unit- a two-liter, almost two-hundred-strong, diesel engine is paired with an automatic transmission. The engine itself is quite noisy, and when turned on it attracts the attention of others in a quiet courtyard. But thanks to its excellent sound insulation, it is completely inaudible inside. On the go, it is pleasant to dose acceleration as much as possible, provides good dynamics when overtaking and has excellent fuel efficiency (less than 10 liters per 100 km in the city fits easily) - once again recall the mass of our experimental.

10. With regard to handling and exchange rate stability. As you probably already guessed, it is an impossible task to move a five-meter long two-ton car, which literally clings to the asphalt with its exhaust system, off course. The car goes on rails and sometimes a deceptive feeling of permissiveness can develop. Banks? No, I haven't. At the same time, the suspension eagerly swallows even medium-sized pits and does not cause discomfort.

11. As for the interior and the interior, traditionally, I have a lot of comments. There are no complaints about the direct control of the car. Excellent visibility forward, disgusting backward through salon mirror and microscopic back glass is normal.

12. But the dashboard is meaningless and merciless. In the presence of a huge high-resolution liquid crystal screen, the navigation map of such a modest size looks like a special mockery. Dashboard generally strange, some of the indicators are displayed on the screen, some remained next to the arrow indicators.

13. In general, a very strange feeling from the interface - I refuse to believe that it was designed by the Germans, the most obsessed with perfectionism in the automotive industry. Touch zones for temperature control and heated / ventilated seats are the most incredible nonsense you can think of. The driver always needs to be distracted from the road and visually monitor the pressure, the touch panels do not provide feedback. Heated steering wheel button next to the general climate switch - how many drivers will miss? There is nothing to say about the main screen - 5 menu items in one full row and another one below. Among them are two items "Telephone". What is it? What for? I understand that one item is exactly the phone, and the second is the phone as the sound source, but what does it do here and not in the “Audio” item?

14. An even more pointless thing is the touchpad for controlling the center screen. Clicking on it at least has feedback but the positioning accuracy and reaction speed are poor. It is absolutely impossible to use the touchpad while on the move - it's safer to reach the main screen (it's also a touchscreen).

15. Well, let's not talk about sad things, let's go for a ride over rough terrain. Any bias and the two heaviest weighted tires are almost over the rims.

16. Does the photo look like the car was just parked on a slope? No, it is already hanging diagonally.

17. The most vulnerable spot on the bottom is exhaust system that runs exactly in the center along cardan shaft... At the rear, we can see the 5th generation Haldex clutch along with an active rear differential, which gives a very pleasant driving experience on paved roads. By the way, in the sports all-wheel drive mode due to the presence of an active rear differential, the Insignia behaves like a full-fledged car with permanent all-wheel drive and a center differential (which, of course, it does not have). And even capable of spinning in place around the front axle.

18. On the ground, this same active rear differential is not particularly willing to help cope with diagonal hanging and transfer of moment to a more loaded wheel. In my opinion, electronic imitation of locks does it much better, but here its activity was noticeably stifled in the hope of an active differential. When trying to move out of the diagonal, the behavior is very similar Range rover Evoque.

19. In general, on the dense and relief ground on Country Tourer, you can move with a high level of comfort. But you need to go around the bumps and in no case move off the asphalt after the rains - if the two-ton "shed" does not get bogged down on the bottom, then at least it will not be able to move from its place on tires smeared with mud (about the same it behaves Skoda Superb Combi V6 4x4).

20. Also, the behavior of the car on the roads filled with rubble deserves a positive assessment - the energy intensity of the suspension is excellent, and you can't tell right away.

21. Evaluate the suspension travel on this harmless terrain. The abnormal freezing temperatures with no snow at the beginning of winter were ideal for Country Tourere rides in the area. At any other time of the year, there is no chance to drive here at all. Movement on relief terrain severely limits the combination of such parameters as ground clearance and wheelbase... On rough terrain, the Country Tourer primarily tries to lie down on the bottom in the center of the wheelbase than to bury itself in the ground with the front or rear overhang. At first, this is very shocking.

The closest competitor of the Country Tourer in terms of a set of parameters is the Audi A4 Allroad. But for the same money, the Opel turns out a little more than the Audi. The Insignia is more spacious, more pleasant to drive and much better looking. Olroad, on the other hand, can boast of only a slightly higher ground clearance, which does not play a special role for both cars. no one will ever drive off-road on these cars.

As for the all-wheel drive, buying a one-wheel drive car in a country where it's winter for almost half a year is at least not rational. In winter, you only need to drive four-wheel drive vehicles.
