Skoda superb 2nd generation. Choosing a Skoda Superb II with mileage

The 5-door Skoda Superb II is built on the platform Volkswagen sedan Passat B6. The car received the following dimensions: length - 4838, width - 1817 mm, height - 1462 mm. Thus, the novelty has become 35 mm longer, 18 mm wider and 8 mm lower than its predecessor. The increase in size had a positive effect on improving passenger comfort and increasing luggage compartment, the volume of which varies from 595 to 1,700 liters. The wheelbase is 2,761 mm. Ground clearance - 139 mm. Curb weight - 1496 kg. Drive - front or full.

A feature of the Skoda Superb is its design tailgate, capable of opening both with glass and without it. The technology is called Twin-Door. At first glance, the car looks like a sedan, but in reality the Skoda Superb is a five-door liftback. Chassis: independent suspension McPherson type front and independent multi-link suspension behind. The machine is equipped disc brakes and power steering. As an option, the Superb was equipped with an electromechanical power steering.

Salon Skoda Superb of the second generation is made in the corporate style of the VW Group. The car received a new dashboard illuminated and a new center console. The controls are easily accessible and intuitive. Quality materials are used in the interior design. For passenger comfort, systems such as separate climate control, the Columbus infotainment system with navigation, CatVision LED lighting and a sunroof with integrated photocells are responsible.

The second generation Skoda Superb was offered in Russia as a gasoline engines, and diesel power plant.

1.8 TSI (152 hp, 250 Nm). The unit is combined with a 6-speed "mechanics" or a 7-speed DSG robotic transmission. The average fuel consumption is 7.2 and 7.6 liters per 100 kilometers. Acceleration time from zero to 100 km / h - from 8.4 to 10 seconds. Max speed- 216 km / h.
. 2.0 TSI (200 hp, 280 Nm). The engine is combined with a 7-speed DSG "robot" and consumes 8 liters of fuel per 100 km of track. combined cycle. The maximum speed is 240 km/h. To accelerate from zero to the first hundred, a car equipped with this engine needs 7.8 seconds.
. 3.6 TSI V6 (260 hp, 350 Nm). power unit combined with a 6-speed DSG robotic transmission and an AWD system based on Haldex couplings 4th generation. Fuel consumption in the combined cycle - 10.1 l / 100 km. Acceleration from zero to the first hundred takes 6.5 seconds. The maximum speed is 250 km/h.
. 2.0 TDI (140 hp, 320 Nm). Paired with diesel engine works 6-speed "robot" DSG. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h - 10.2 seconds. The declared fuel consumption in the combined cycle is 5.2 liters per hundred. The maximum speed is 212 km/h.

In our country, the Skoda Superb II liftback was available in the trim levels: Active, Ambition, Elegance, Elegance Plus and Laurin & Klement. In the basic version, the car was equipped with cast rims 16 inches, air conditioning, ABS, ESP, heated and electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, rain and tire pressure sensors, an audio system with 8 speakers and a CD changer, on-board computer maxi dot, central lock With remote control and the ISOFIX child seat attachment system. Optionally, the list of equipment could be expanded by ordering 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels, electric drive control system front seat from the rear row, adaptive lighting control AFS and automatic parallel and perpendicular parking.

The second-generation Skoda Superb liftback is the company's flagship model and lives up to its intended purpose. The car has decent specifications, modern design, sufficiently powerful and economical engines. One of the advantages of the car is spacious, roomy and comfortable lounge. However, there are downsides. The Skoda Superb is low ground clearance, harsh suspension, which makes itself felt on bad roads, and relatively high flow fuel for petrol versions when operating in the city. There is a small clutch resource of 120-150 thousand kilometers, breakdowns of the stabilizer bushings and power windows.

Skoda Superb 2nd generation (2008-2013 model year).

Skoda Superb "crowns", densely occupying its market share. In the 2nd generation of the model, released in 2008, there were twelve basic configurations. The Superb is equipped with three gasoline engines (from 1.8 to 3.6 liters) and a diesel engine (2 liters - 140 hp). The choice of the buyer had three variations of the checkpoint: robotic, automatic and mechanics. Most of the initial configurations with front-wheel drive, but you could also choose all-wheel drive options (Skoda Superb 4 × 4).

In the second generation of the Skoda Superb, there are practically no similarities with the fellow VW concern - Volkswagen Passat. The Czechs got it unique car with its advantages and innovations. As you know, business class cars are different high quality and refined design, as well as innovative systems that raise the level of driving to a new level.

Therefore, I would like to note the "highlights" that the Czechs equipped the car with:

  • Umbrella in the doorknob
  • Knee airbags (up to 9 airbags in a car)
  • Bi-xenon headlights with AFS
  • Parking Assistant
  • Revolutionary luggage solution (TwinDoor System) etc.

Exterior of Skoda Superb 2

The overall dimensions of the car immediately indicate its status. Superba's body lines are smooth, flowing one into another, giving the design a special elegance.
The radiator grill and car optics give it a strict and very solid look.

TwinDoor system for fifth door

The developers of the second generation Skoda Superb presented a pleasant surprise, having developed unique system TwinDoor, which allows you to open the trunk in 2 ways: like conventional sedans(if the cargo is small) and like hatchbacks (for bulky cargo). In addition, the volume of the luggage compartment can be increased thanks to the folded rear seats(from 565 to 1670 liters). Is this not a traveler's dream?

Also, for the smooth closing of the trunk, it was equipped with an electric drive. Now it is enough to cover the lid a little (or press the button) and then the electric drive will start working.

The innovative TwinDoor system in the 2nd generation Skoda Superb.

Bi-xenon headlights with AFS

Looking at the car externally, in addition to the size, the headlights of the second Superb and their shape, similar to wings, are also striking. They give aggressiveness and dynamics to the appearance of the car.

But the 2008 Superb has good optics not only in design - bi-xenon headlights are indispensable on a night road. And AFS (Adaptive Light Control System) dramatically improves visibility by automatically adjusting the light beam based on speed, cornering and other road conditions.

Skoda interior

The interior of the brand's flagship is made in the best traditions of the German car industry - a solid, time-tested classic. The space and quality of materials will be the envy of many cars of the same class, because in the D-class, which was awarded to Superbu, there is hardly a second such car with 157 cm for rear passenger legs.

One of the options colors salon.

Automakers clearly tried to give status to everything:

  • Ventilation nozzles for the second row
  • Heated all seats
  • Automatic adjustment of the front seats in three planes. driving position also has a memory function for seat settings up to three positions
  • Dual zone climate control
  • Separate lighting for each passenger
  • A clock on the dashboard for rear passengers and a bunch of little things (like an umbrella in the rear left door) only enhance the impression of a luxury car.

Both the driver and passengers will feel comfortable.

The first will be pleasantly surprised by the large number of individual settings for comfortable driving (starting with multimedia equipment and the purest acoustic sound of the speakers, and ending with the steering wheel settings).

Passengers will get huge legroom, excellent fit, dual-zone climate control, heated seats and a host of other useful features.

A little bit about driving experience

  • Noise isolation of the car at a high level. There is a feeling of isolation from the noisy world around, it is quiet in the cabin.
  • The rigid suspension may seem unusual, but it is thanks to it that the car behaves perfectly at high speeds.
  • Light and maneuverable steering wheel, driving the Skoda Superb 2 is a pleasure. At the same time, the number of its settings is simply amazing. Bring forward steering wheel it is possible as much as 10 centimeters, while there are also settings for moving up and down.
  • Excellent dynamics. Already on a model with an engine of 1.8 liters and 152 horsepower the second Superb may well compete with more powerful cars.
  • Sensitive brakes. A light touch on the pedal is enough for lightning-fast car response.

It is worth noting that Superb took 6th place in the prestigious competition "Car of the Year 2009".

The Skoda Superb is distinguished by a reliable and well-thought-out security system: airbags for the driver and passengers, anti-slip devices and anti-lock system brakes.

We can safely say that this car is much closer to the E class than to the D-class awarded to the 2nd generation Skoda Superb. The car will look equally good both at business meetings and during a comfortable pastime with the family.

Video footage

The Superb is currently the largest and most luxurious car in the world. model range Skoda. On secondary market two generations of this model are available. The first was produced in 2001-2008 and is in moderate demand. The popularity of the second (2008-2015) is only gaining momentum. There is nothing surprising. The Skoda Superb 2 is the most spacious car in its class, and the design is based on technical solutions Volkswagen Passat B6.

Market

Sales advertisements are dominated by copies sold through Russian official dealers. To buy a Skoda Superb, you will have to stock up on about 600,000 rubles. If you want to get a car in a more or less decent condition, you will have to increase the budget to at least 700,000 rubles.

There are two body versions available on the market. The first is a liftback that resembles a sedan in profile. An original solution: the trunk has a two-piece lid that opens either like a sedan or a classic hatchback. The design turned out to be very heavy, so the cover shock absorbers do not last long. The lid begins to "fall off" after a few years.

In 2009, a station wagon appeared - a rather rare instance in our market. It has a huge trunk and quite attractive body lines. The price tag for the Skoda Superb station wagon is higher, by about 50-100 rubles.

IN 2013 year Skoda Superb II has been upgraded. The cheapest reystaling copies cost about 800,000 rubles. Unfortunately, after the update, the car lost its originality and became similar to other Skoda models. Features: new headlights with LED elements, slightly enlarged grille and rear lights made by LED technology. In the interior, another steering wheel appeared - 3 or 4-spoke, depending on the configuration.

In Europe, there is also the so-called "off-road" modification of the station wagon - Skoda Superb Combi Outdoor. It is distinguished by protective plastic lining on the bumpers, wheel arches and thresholds.

family limousine

For the vast majority of buyers, the main advantage of the Skoda Superb is an unusually huge interior and excellent sound insulation. The trunk of the liftback version has a capacity of 595 liters, and the station wagon - 633 liters. The model is unbeatable when it comes to the amount of space on the back sofa. It's almost the perfect family car.

Superb is distinguished by rich serial equipment and options. There is no need to complain about the quality of finishing materials, but they do not reach the level of premium class. Imitation of wooden plastic inserts and peeling chrome decor is an example of a budget approach to interior design.

Better than predecessor

Suspension - one more forte models. A MacPherson strut works in front, and a multi-link system in the back. Externally, the suspension design resembles the solutions used in the Passat B6, but in reality there are differences. Among other things, the Passat used levers made of light alloys. In Skoda Superb they are made of stainless steel. The front levers allow you to separately change the ball and silent blocks, which significantly reduces the cost of Maintenance and repair. It is worth noting that in the Skoda Superb previous generation used multi-link suspension with expensive aluminum levers. Overall, the Skoda's suspension is solid enough, but handling the chassis on rough roads is a bit rough to some.

Before buying, you should pay attention to the condition of the CV joint and anthers. This is one of the weak Skoda seats superb. A sign of wear is a characteristic chirping (crackling) during maneuvering with the wheels turned as far as possible.

Mileage 340,000 km. The steering wheel rim has a lot of wear.

Some owners complain that with a full passenger compartment, the “back” sags a lot. Most often, springs are to blame for this, which quickly lose their former elasticity. It is worth noting that the Skoda Superb is a heavy car that weighs more than 1500 kg.

Do not be afraid of versions with all-wheel drive. The system is quite strong and reliable. It is also used in most Volkswagen models. In normal condition, the car is front-wheel drive, and rear wheels connected via an electronically controlled Haldex coupling.

Engines

Most popular in Russia gasoline engines which are considered more reliable. However, in the case of Superb, everything turned out to be somewhat different. There are many real examples. The most popular version with 1.8 TSI suffers from excessive oil consumption. And in 1.4 TSI, problems with the timing chain and the variable valve timing system are regularly observed. However, nothing bad can be said about the 2-liter TSI. Is that he is too gluttonous.

It's hard to believe, but the most reliable in motor range is the good old 1.9 TDI. Yes, it does not impress with either the characteristics or the softness of the work. But not here particulate filter, and the diesel itself is hardy and inexpensive to maintain.

Worthy of attention and 2-liter turbodiesel 2.0 TDI with a power system common rail. This is perhaps the best choice for the Skoda Superb. It does not create many problems, but will require compliance with the timing of replacing the timing belt. The most preferred 140-horsepower version of the engine. In the 170-horsepower modification, more capricious and more expensive nozzles are used. It is worth noting that both engines are much quieter than the 1.9 TDI. In addition, they consume the same amount of fuel, but much more dynamically.

In Europe, there are models with a very small 1.6 TDI, which later replaced the 1.9 TDI. A small modern diesel engine is much more economical, but cannot be compared with the "old man" either in terms of dynamics or in terms of endurance.

Diesel particulate filter Skoda Superb proved to be surprisingly durable. This was clearly demonstrated European cars from a taxi service. Many instances did not show any problems with the particulate filter even after 200,000 km of run.

Caution should be exercised with specimens equipped with an automated double DSG clutch. As a rule, characteristic signs of wear appear after 100-150 thousand km.

Typical problems and malfunctions

1.8 TSI engines consume a large amount engine oil. Fortunately, there are instances that are free from this defect.

Problems with the timing chain in 1.4 TSI.

Malfunctions of the injection system in the 2.0 TDI. The problem affected absolutely all cars of the initial period of production. Engines stalled for no reason.

Failure DSG boxes after the end of the warranty (mechatronics failure).

Problems with the hinges of the drive shafts.

Lamps burn out quickly.

Rapid wear brake pads and rear springs.

Rapid wear of the upholstery of the interior of the basic versions.

Body corrosion protection is very good, but the quality paintwork leaves much to be desired. Some owners note that in the area windshield and small chips appear at the bottom of the doors.

Reliability reports

GTU : Strong trump Superba - durable suspension and good protection from corrosion. There are problems with the brake and exhaust system.

DEKRA : Classifies the Skoda Superb as a premium class and rates its reliability up to 150,000 km at the level Mercedes E class and BMW 5 Series.

Skoda Superb II owners reviews

Skoda Superb II, 2009

On the go, the Skoda Superb II raises no questions. The engine and transmission work perfectly, providing very good dynamics, the car effortlessly accelerates in the range of 60-180 km / h, reaching 210 km / h without any problems (I checked it a couple of times for curiosity). Further, apparently, he rested on the possibilities of aerodynamics, tk. there is a feeling that the motor still can, but the wall of oncoming air does not make it as easy to go further. What else I like is that there is no difference in the behavior of the Skoda Superb II - 80, 110, 150 or 200 km / h. I went last year to Odessa through Kyiv, from Kyiv to Odessa there is a section of about 300 km of an almost German autobahn. In general, I passed these 300 km at an average speed of 180, sitting on the tail of an Audi Q7 with Moscow numbers, while my wife and child dozed off for an hour. When she woke up and saw the number 195 on the speedometer, she began to yell and demand to slow down, and if it weren’t for the number, then nothing else would have bothered her. Skoda Superb II calmly absorbed kilometers of asphalt. In general, for long trips, and even the Superb family is an excellent option. The trunk of 570 liters will accommodate a lot of things. The highway consumption is from 6.5 to 8 liters, 8 liters just if you go under 200, if 80-120, then 6.5 is easy, it was possible to get from St. Petersburg to Minsk almost on one tank, however, I specially filled in half of the 98th. In the city, the consumption is also not particularly frustrating - 10-11, if there are deaf traffic jams in the heat, it can eat 13 liters, but this happened very rarely. The car is quite maneuverable and in the city, it was often possible to turn around in three steps in the yards.

Advantages : excellent dynamics and good economy. Clear handling, road and trajectory holds tenaciously. Very high quality interior. Service cost.

Flaws : LCP is weak.

Skoda Superb II, 2011

First time I own a car maximum configuration elegance. "Elegance" - elegant and Skoda Superb II - excellent - these are not metaphors, these are epithets worthy of this car. The novelty in the design of the stern, the strict look of the optics lenses from under the brows of the wide muscular hood command respect on the road. I don’t want to prove something to someone with speed. You are driving a powerful, respectable car that can deliver you both with a breeze and with comfort at the same time. The dense suspension of the Skoda Superb II thirstily swallows the unevenness of the asphalt without annoying the riders. The stock of space between the rows of seats allows you to stretch your legs and relax, stretched out with a tenacious chair covered in Alcantara. Climate control works in such a way that it is invisible to the skin - you just feel comfortable temperature around your body and all. Noise isolation does not allow the penetration of daily fuss into the interior of the car. The high-quality sound of the audio system immerses you in your favorite pieces of music. Special thanks to the author of my color "Lilac Amethyst". The combination of cold shades in it makes road dust and dirt invisible for a long time, but shining in the sun, of course, it falls in love with itself again and again.

Advantages : ergonomics. Informative steering wheel. Small turning radius. Salon space. The convenience of a TwinDoor trunk lid. Powerful turbo engine.

Flaws : design - the final line of the rear window is not finished.

Skoda Superb II, 2013

The machine, in general, leaves a positive impression of itself. Good, in my opinion, the design of the Skoda Superb II, the interior also looks solidly expensive. The front of the car looks aggressive - sharp corners of the headlights, grille. But the “stern” is the opposite - such a moderate, calm premium class, one might say. The interior of the Skoda Superb II has comfortable seats, a wide range of adjustments, and then strong lateral support. The steering wheel also has a large range of adjustments, so sitting comfortably is not difficult. But the rack closes a certain part of the review, because of which you can not see any obstacle in the turn. On the panel, everything is also well located, not loaded with extra buttons. Convenient climate control. multimedia system Skoda Superb II is also on top - good sounding acoustics. There is a lot of space in the back row, you can comfortably seat three, but although a pronounced tunnel may not provide convenience. There is also plenty of space in the trunk.

Advantages : large saloon. Good quality assemblies. Excellent pendant. torquey and economical engine. Clear box work. Big trunk.

Flaws : pillars interfere with the view.
