Which brand to choose

Toyota, like all car manufacturers, recommends using only original lubricant. But as an option, you can also prefer an analog oil, but you should choose from the most famous brands with a generally recognized reputation. For example, these include Mobil, Castrol, Elf, ZIK, Lukoil, G-Energy, Kixx and others.

Types of oils

We conclude the article with three types of oils that are currently the most popular:

• Synthetic is the best motor oil available today. Possesses unsurpassed viscosity indicators, optimal tolerance and quality classes. Also worth noting long term action of useful properties, which favorably affects the frequency of replacement. This oil is resistant to extreme temperature extremes, making it ideal for use in winter conditions - for example, in Siberia.
• Mineral is the thickest oil, which from this point of view is considered the complete opposite of more fluid synthetics. This oil is not recommended for Toyota RAV4, especially when it comes to newer versions of RAV4. "Mineralka" is better suited for old cars with high mileage that have a high risk of oil leaks.
• Semi-synthetic - the best engine oil in terms of price-quality ratio. Includes 70% mineral and 30% synthetic oils... In terms of a set of advantages, semisynthetics are definitely superior to "mineral water", but noticeably lags behind pure synthetics. And yet, semisynthetics are a decent, better quality alternative to cheap mineral oil.

It can be concluded that for Toyota RAV4 it is better to use oil on a synthetic or semi-synthetic base. So, the latter is better to use when the mileage is over 50-60 thousand kilometers.
