Each group of symbols and a separate symbol of the wine code carry clearly defined information:
- first three vIN symbol show the manufacturer's index, by which it can be identified by users all over the world: the first is the country, the second is the manufacturer's code, the third is the type of car (passenger, cargo)
- the fourth - eighth symbols indicate the model, engine and body types, series and others specifications;
- the ninth character is an indicator of the correctness of the entire code, it can be used to determine whether the car is listed as "hijacked";
- the tenth character means the year of manufacture, although some manufacturers (for example, some Ford plants) show this information in the eleventh character.
- the eleventh character is a characteristic of the manufacturer;
- from the twelfth to the seventeenth characters reflect the assembly sequence and are the body number.
It would seem that having the VIN code indicated in the documents and buying a car for secondary market, you can check the car in all parameters. First, make sure that it is clean from a legal point of view, and secondly, find out all the details of its configuration, strong and weak spots... Second important point - purchase of the necessary units, parts and tuning elements for the car. Usually the part numbers depend on the options that are installed for a specific model of a particular year and even a month of manufacture. Which options are installed on your car can be determined by the VIN - code.
But it's not that simple. In practice, for Korean vehicles, the vehicle title code does not “break through” in Microcat MARKET, a system that is a single online parts catalog. Not only Mikrokat, but many other car programs do not identify the codes of the Koreans. You need to know the "second wines" that the spare parts selection program can recognize.

The vehicle identification plate (VIN) is located on the top of the bulkhead of the engine compartment.
