There are no parts overloaded with buttons, the dashboard does not look spartan, however, it does not make it difficult for either the driver or the front passenger to board.

First, about the filling. The center console features a 5.8-inch touchscreen display. It works in both rear view camera mode and navigator mode. In addition, it displays the Nissan Connect interface, which allows you to pair your phone with your multimedia system. Thus, the new Nissan Tiida becomes a large phone on wheels with all the attendant functions: receiving calls, listening to music, viewing mail and social networks.


A climate control unit is installed just below, which is divided into two zones here. I must say, if not for the display, then this unit would have attracted more attention than multimedia. The instrument panel is outrageously simple. There are two aluminum wells, several instruments, and a display on-board computer... Cheap, cheerful and very functional. The rear sofa can be decorated in different ways, depending on the equipment. For example, there is not even a central armrest in the base. In Russia, the model of the year comes with the only engine that came into the world back in 2005. Yes, the company has slightly modified it, but 117 horsepower taken from the 1.6-liter inline-four still delights the driver.

Such a motor can be aggregated with either a five-speed mechanics or a continuously variable XTronic variator. In the first case, acceleration to hundreds takes 10.6 seconds, the maximum speed is 188 km / h. Tiida's ground clearance is 180 mm - that's great! The omnivorous suspension will swallow any irregularities, for which it can be forgiven for a slight discomfort on Russian asphalt.

Lighter 16-inch tires can race even on stony ground. No matter how hard we tried, we did not manage to break through the suspension even once.

And Tiida looks great. In fact, we have before us the European Nissan Pulsar, which, in the maximum configuration, even boasts LED low beam headlights, but with a more impressive ground clearance and thoroughly adapted for Russia. Of course, the battery has been strengthened, the tank for the washer has been enlarged, and there will be other updates characteristic of our climate.

Of course, in Europe Pulsar is equipped with much richer equipment, but we hardly need all these options. What's the point of a surround view system if the cameras are almost always dirty, and even without them, parking on a hatchback is not at all difficult. And about the sensors road markings and we will not say: where is the road markings?

In a popular hatchback, a rear-view camera is enough, and, just in case, navigation - they are offered in the most expensive trim levels.

The Ural spirit soars in the cabin

But about leather interior, which is in the sedan, forget: in its place is a combined synthetic fabric, which is not so much heated in the sun, but washes no worse than slippery leather.

It is a pity that leather steering wheel trim and cruise control are available only in one single maximum configuration with a variator. Thus, fans of mechanics will have to be content with a very meager interior.

They clearly saved on the interior, such a classic and communication with hard plastic may not please adherents of youth style. Plus, the seats are too high.

Sit cross-legged from behind

If, as in the Nissan Note, it was possible to move the rear sofa back and forth, varying the space between the rear seats and the trunk, Tiida could definitely replace the once very popular compact MPV.

When folded, the rear backrests form a noticeable step on the floor, but this is more of a nagging, which will be noticed primarily by older people who want such a hatchback for their country-house needs.

The Nissan-Tiida doesn't offer a lot of boot space, 300 liters is not bad, but it is the average in the class. Liters are clearly eaten by a full-size spare wheel under the floor. The inner threshold through which we carry the luggage is low - this is convenient.

Noise isolation reaches heights of a larger sedan nissan Teana - you can guess the quality of the asphalt, but the road hum is only slightly noticeable to passengers on back seat... Up front, up to 130 km / h, you talk without raising your voice. But here's the bad luck: in order to accelerate to this speed, you will have to make significant efforts to the gas pedal.

Despite the fact that the Tiida is positioned by Nissan as a more youth model than the Sentra sedan, they have the same power units - this, again, is a 117-horsepower 1.6 liter engine. and, optionally, a 5-speed manual transmission or a variator with a very large operating range.

Unscrew the motor

Formally, the power should be enough, for a long time I drove a heavier one with a 120-horsepower 1.8 engine and did not know any problems with dynamics. But the 2015 Nissan Tiida test took place on winding mountain paths, and in order to stay in the stream, the engine had to be literally twisted until it chimed. The thrust appears only after 4000 rpm.

On high revs may irritate the roar of the motor.

It's good that, paired with the mechanics, the motor spins up to almost 7 thousand, and by quickly changing gears, you can accelerate very confidently even with a full load. If you are in no hurry and come to terms with the status of a slow-moving vehicle, then you can save fuel by keeping the revs within 3000. Alas, I never managed to catch the average comfortable-dynamic mode. Even with a variator, it is very difficult to dose acceleration.

In theory, the CVT has seven virtual gears, but there are no mechanisms to control them. On the selector there is a button for switching to sports mode, it does not allow the engine speed to fall below 2000-2500 rpm, but this is in any case not enough for more or less normal acceleration.

There is also an L mode, but it's not very useful. In addition, it deprives the driver of the ability to brake with the engine. It is worth releasing the gas steep descent, and the engine speed immediately drops to a minimum. Driving on slippery surfaces is not safe at all.
Sometimes it seems that the Tiida of the previous generation, equipped with an old 4-speed automatic, which has now migrated under the hood, drove in urban conditions no worse, and it was even more convenient to control the dynamics. Unless the fuel consumption of the previous generation hatchback was usually 8-10 liters per hundred, whereas now it has dropped to 6.5-8 liters.

Maybe someday the Tiida, and with it the Sentra, will be honored with the proven 2-liter engine, which we know well from qashqai crossovers and X-Trail. Well, you see, a charged version of the Pulsar with a 190-horsepower turbo engine, which is installed, among other things, on the Nissan Juke, will reach us.

You drive quieter, you will continue and there will still be gasoline

In the meantime, despite the comfortable suspension, excellent noise isolation and a huge interior, I can recommend Tiida only to those drivers who are in no hurry. I hope there will be a lot of them, because only then will we have a chance to see for real swift versions this beautiful hatchback that can compete with.

Five-door hatchback Nissan Tiida is built on the same platform as the Sentra sedan, which is produced at the IzhAvto plant and sold in Russia. There is also a difference in equipment - for example, a leather interior is not available for the Tiida. In addition, the Tiida is slightly shorter (4387 mm versus 4625 mm for the sedan) and its trunk is more modest, but the wheelbase of the hatchback is the same - 2700 mm, this guarantees a good supply of space in the rear of the cabin and makes the Nissan Tiida one of the most spacious in the class. In the technical stuffing and interior, the cars are completely identical. Nissan Tiida has a front independent suspension McPherson and rear semi-dependent. The Russian version of the car received upgraded suspension with reinforced front stabilizer lateral stability and rear torsion beam, as well as improved springs and dampers. The Nissan Tiida can be considered a family hatchback with plenty of headroom. In the volume of the trunk, it is, however, inferior to the sedan, offering 307 liters versus 511 liters for the Sentra, but its features include a less sloping roof and more headroom for rear passengers, and the presence of a fifth door makes the hatchback very functional. Unfortunately, both cars on the Russian market offer only one engine option, which limits the options for buyers. In 2016, amid falling new car sales, Izhevsk plant, where both models are produced, temporarily suspended the assembly hatchback Tiidaas expected - prior to the sale of inventory.

Large, spacious cars are loved in Russia. Almost the only thing that can keep our person from buying a bigger car is a lack of funds. Automakers have long figured out the priorities of the mysterious Russian soul and, as best they can, are trying to match them.

Following the large and relatively inexpensive sedan Nissan Sentra, the Japanese concern brought to the market the Nissan Tiida hatchback that meets the same standards. For reference: in Europe, the new Tiida is marketed as the Nissan Pulsar.

The first car named Tiida was released in 2004. Belonging to the compact class, the car was built on the platform of the younger model Nout (Nissan Note). The first Tiida was produced in sedan and hatchback bodies and had a rather specific appearance. But not too high price and practicality helped the car sell.

Tiida of the first generation had several other names. In the North American market, it was known as the Nissan Versa, in Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia - the Latio, and in its native Japanese market, the Tiida Latio.


The story is the same with modern Tiida. Local versions of this car have been sold in different markets since 2011. The hatchbacks are offered under the Pulsar and Tiida names, while the sedans are the Sylphy and Sentra. The novelty has reached us only now. But immediately with the production in Izhevsk and serious adaptation to local conditions.

Externally Nissan Tiida repeats the European Pulsar, but in technically it is unified with the Sentra sedan produced on the same IzhAvto. Both domestic cars differ from European and American counterparts. The modern Nissan V platform was not very suitable for building cars with comfortable suspension settings and reasonable ground clearance when driving on bad roads.

To solve technical problems, elements from an older platform B were introduced into it. Subframes, support legs, some power elements of the bottom were borrowed. Under the bottom of the car at the lowest point - 155 mm, which is 15 mm more than the European. The front suspension is a universal MacPherson strut, on the rear the Japanese saved money and installed a torsion beam. Many competitors offer more class-befitting independent wishbones.


As a result, the car endures adversity domestic roads, does not bother with shaking and blows, but rolls and not very willingly dives into turns. The empty steering wheel does not make driving in a straight line pleasant. Well at least the brakes are set close to ideal. Deceleration is effective and predictable.

Squared comfort

It adjusts for a smooth and calm movement and has no alternative power unit volume of 1.6 liters. This gasoline aspirated HR16DE is a modified version of the engines previously installed on the Qashqai, Juke and many other models of the Renault-Nissan concern. Its 117 hp. end-to-end enough for normal movement on such a large car.


Fans of intense acceleration are unlikely to like the transmissions aggregated with this engine. The long lever of the 5-speed manual moves too freely in the wings. The same can be said for the clutch pedal. It is light, and the moment of switching on begins to be felt only after adaptation.

Even more specific automatic gearbox... This is a classic V-belt variator. And he behaves accordingly, with mournful hovering on one note and other, usual for such a transmission, features. With intensive overclocking, a barely noticeable specificity appears. The engine speed first jumps up to 4.5 thousand, and then increases stepwise to the maximum.


There is no great desire to keep the gas pedal to the floor for a long time. At the top, the quiet, in general, the engine begins to wail. But the car still accelerates: 10.6 seconds to a hundred on the mechanics and a little more on the variator - the indicator is quite acceptable. But the fuel consumption pleases. With any of the gearbox options, the flow rate is 8 liters in the city.

Competitive advantage

What is really worth buying a 2015 Nissan Tiida for is the interior of the car. First, it is really spacious. The wheelbase of 2700 mm and competent ergonomic design provided a good supply of space on both rows of the car. In the space in front of the knees in the second row, the car surpasses many models in a class (or even two) higher.


Finishing materials are also quite good. Yes, only the upper part of the front panel is made of soft material, and the inserts under the light carbon are a bit rustic, but general impression quite favorable. When the engine is running normally, the cabin is quiet and comfortable.

Tiida does not have an optitronic instrument panel, and some keys are not backlit. But everything is in its place, and the equipment of the car can be considered sufficient. Depending on the configuration, you can get such nice things as LED headlights, 2-zone climate control, color touchscreen multimedia with navigation and a rear view camera, keyless entry, cruise control, light and rain sensors, comfortable armrests on both rows seats.

In the maximum speed, the only thing missing is leather trim. The basic version is equipped in a somewhat European way. It has ESP, but no air conditioning.


The luggage compartment is not too spacious, only 307 liters. No nets or hooks are provided here to secure the luggage. The backrests fold down to form a high step.

Options and prices

Nissan Tiida 2015, like the Sentra, is positioned as big car for inexpensive. But today's reality does not allow manufacturers to offer truly affordable prices.

Therefore, the car falls into the typical, at the moment for the golf class, price range. Prices start at 839,000 rubles (for the basic Welcome equipment with manual transmission), and reach 1,030,000 rubles for maximum configuration Tekna with CVT.


In favor of the car speaks comfortable and spacious salon, but the car will not suit people with driver's ambitions. For similar money and even cheaper, you can buy more interesting cars to drive.

Mazda 3, KIA Cee "d, Hyundai i30 are estimated at about the same amount, taking into account the configurations. Taking into account the discounts, the Ford Focus can become a bargain.

The selling price of the Chevrolet Cruze looks very tempting, but inside it comes across as a simpler car. The spacious and well-controlled Skoda Octavia will be worse equipped at the Tiida price.

The second row is pretty comfortable

Introduced at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, the Nissan Pulsar materialized in our market this year as the Nissan Tiida. The assembly of the novelty was established in the same place as the assembly of the Nissan Sentra, that is, at the plant in Izhevsk, which, in fact, was to be expected, because, by and large, the Sentra and Tiida are one and the same car, only in different types body. By the way, this fact was cleverly used by dealers who did not have Tiida in the test park yet, but already had Sentra. The sedan often replaced a hatchback that had not yet appeared, and this was enough for a person with a well-developed imagination to form his own opinion about a car that did not exist. The main thing was to keep in mind what the Pulsar looks like from the outside, because the Tiida's interior is no different from the Sentra. In any case, in the front of the cabin.

Is this good or bad? From the point of view of unification, of course, it's just wonderful, and from the point of view of design, the instrument panel from Sentra suits this car more than the original one. Yes, the Pulsar is somewhat different, in particular, we are talking about the center console. It was as if it had been attached to the panel after it had been painted. In Tiida, however, it fits well into the monolith.

In general, in the interior of the novelty, calm and even, one might say, noble notes prevail. Everything is somehow cozy and soft at home. And softly in the literal sense of the word. Even the armrests in the door cards have plush upholstery - you don't want to, but put your elbow in there. Now, if only the center armrest was in place. It seemed to us uncomfortable: not only is it low, but also shifted more towards the back. It is rehabilitated only by the fact that under it there is a small box for small things and a USB connector. But what not to find fault with is the second row of seats. There is plenty of room here. In addition, the sofa itself is quite deep, and the back is at an optimal angle. In addition, passengers have the opportunity, albeit insignificantly, to influence their microclimate. For this, there are air ducts in the back of the front armrest.

The trunk can also be considered quite acceptable. 307 liters, of course, not so hot what volume, but comparable with classmates. A little upsetting is the fact that when the backs of the rear row are folded, a flat surface with the trunk floor will not work. An impressive step is formed. But the fact that there is a full-size spare wheel under the floor is a definite plus for a car sold on the Russian market.

Today Tiida is equipped with one engine. This is a 1.6-liter engine with 117 hp. from. Alas, there is no choice yet. But the box can be either a mechanical five-speed or an automatic, or, more precisely, a continuously variable variator. It was with him that we took the car for the test. By the way, with such a box and in the Elegance Plus Connect configuration, the same one that we had on the test, the car will cost the consumer a million plus. And I must say that this is not the most top-end equipment. What is it for? And besides, that from a car for a million you expect that it will go for a million. At first it seems that this is the case. Excellent sound insulation and a fairly comfortable suspension with a calm and measured ride create the impression that you are in a premium car. The variator also does not stand aside from the creation of this illusion. There are no gear changes as such, and therefore any relatively dynamic acceleration or braking occurs without jerks. The brakes themselves are intelligible, and it is easy to accurately dose the force on them, providing smooth and at the same time effective braking. The steering wheel is also clear.

The step is quite large with the seats folded

The effort on it is exactly what you expect, and the steering is adequate both on the track and when maneuvering in cramped conditions. But ... How the car lacks its strength, as soon as there is a need to accelerate sharply! And it's not that he refused to do it, but he still feels some apathy for such tests. In the future, if you continue to insist on your own, the car, of course, accelerates, but the delay that is present in the first moments, when the foot pushes the accelerator pedal to the floor, is still annoying. However, we must pay tribute, even with a variator, the car manages to catch up with the speedometer needle to a hundred in 11.3 seconds. FROM mechanical boxas the manufacturer promises, Tiida will reach this milestone in 10.6 seconds. The difference, as you can see, is small, and the results are quite modern. And yet I would like a stronger motor. Well, or at least it would be nice if there was a choice between what is now and more powerful engine and not very rich list of options.
