The petrol CLS 450 4Matic is even faster - just 4.8 seconds to "hundreds". It turns out that the new CLS with a three-liter "six" caught up in dynamics with the previous CLS 500 with a 4.7-liter V8. But that version was not at all archaic - 408 forces, double turbocharging, the same 9-speed automatic and four-wheel drive. So where did the jump come from? The point is that new inline engine(367 hp) with a 48-volt electrics and an integrated starter-generator is assisted by a 22-horsepower electric motor. This gives a large increase in traction precisely at acceleration. Do you think the German bore engineer immediately recalled that such hybrid circuit also saves fuel (consumption - only 7.5 liters per 100 km)? Nothing of the sort: Keltz didn't even mention it. Fresh CLS was the first of the serial Mercedes to try on, which in Stuttgart is called both "sensual simplicity" and "hot & cool". Although "in metal" this direction could already be seen on the conceptual one. It is curious that the large Mercedes CLS differs from the compact "Ashka" only in details: more calm and elegant cutouts in the bumpers and a less aggressive radiator grille.
