However, it is worth noting that more reliable engines are now installed on the updated Kalina. They are injector and 16-valve. Moreover, the volume of the combustion chamber remained the same - 1.6 liters.
The capacity, depending on the model, ranges from 88 to 106 liters. The torque is, respectively, from 140 to 150 Nm.

And finally, the body has become a little longer in length. It was possible to organize this after increasing the wheelbase, which, in turn, made the similarity with the crossover even more obvious.
The lighting equipment, as well as the radiator grille, remained the same as in the previous modifications.
At the same time, employees of the Volga Automobile Plant note that they managed to largely eliminate the problem associated with poor noise insulation.
The interior has not undergone any special modifications. By and large, everything remained the same as last year's version of Kalina. However, there are several innovations:

- added the ability to adjust the tension of the seat belt.

"Lada Kalina 2" (VAZ-2192) - the second generation of the family domestic cars, produced by JSC AvtoVAZ in 2013. Unlike the first generation, Kalina 2 is produced only in hatchback and station wagon bodies. First glance
The basis of the car is a structurally redesigned body taken from the first generation, but for the most part all the innovations are borrowed from Grants. Steering
I would like to say right away that after the failure with the first Kalina, the engineers had to work hard, and not in vain - the VAZ-2192 turned out to be extremely “obedient” and responsive. And the whole point is that it was necessary to "shorten", leaving only 3.1 turns from lock to lock (instead of the previous four).
The electric power steering was also updated - this time they did not spare money and equipped the car with a Korean mechanism, which, moreover, is "tightly" attached to the body. Considering that the previous Kalina was mounted with a rubber cushion, the result of the new modifications turned out to be quite impressive - the car perfectly goes through any turns and reacts very responsively to the rotation of the steering wheel.
Chassis
If we talk about the VAZ-2192 suspension, then everything has been updated here too. But only with respect to the first "Kalina", because the whole system migrated to the second generation of cars from the "Grants" already produced at that time. Although when developing a suspension for the same "Grant", chassis the old "Kalina", she still has undergone a thorough revision. First, the shock absorbers were changed and the springs with increased stiffness were installed. Secondly, they have also undergone changes in favor of increasing their thickness. In addition, as mentioned above, the VAZ-2192, whose technical characteristics are quite acceptable for the roads of the post-Soviet countries, received a negative camber angle.
How Kalina 2 is controlled
There is an opinion among the people that the second "Kalina" can be compared in handling with the good old "eight" - the steering wheel is responsive, and the car perfectly "stands" both on high-speed straight lines and on winding roads. Energy intensity has not suffered in any way - in front of deep pits and potholes, you don't even have to try to slow down strongly, because the car “flies” them with enviable agility.
In addition, if in a turn the wheel falls into an unplanned hole or pothole, the updated Kalina does not lose control and calmly continues to move along a given trajectory. Based on this, we can conclude that the suspension and steering work out one hundred percent! The only "dirty trick" that the VAZ "berry" does not like is small cracks and microroughnesses. On them, the car continually shudders and shakes. But still, this flaw is not very striking, and you can fix it by installing less rigid tires.

Anyone who has owned a front-wheel drive VAZ car of the old family knows perfectly well how murderous, unreliable and terrible the ten-point "mechanics" are. But in the VAZ-2192 engineers took care of this point too - in the new "Kalina" completely new box gear shifting! This is because instead of the old brass synchronizers for the first and second gears, new steel multi-cone synchronizers are used. Engines
The line of engines of the standard "Kalina" on the "mechanics" is quite standard: with a volume of 1.6 liters, there are variants with eight valves and a capacity of 87 liters. with., as well as models with sixteen valves and a capacity of 106 liters. from. But for options with automatic transmission, only one engine option is offered: a 16-valve in-line engine with a volume of 1.6 liters and a capacity of 98 liters. from.
