Rating of the most economical cars by fuel consumption. Eco-dozen: the most economical cars with a gun

The best buyer's choice 4

There is now a general trend towards economy and careful use of resources. Against this background, many car manufacturers are improving motors and transmissions, creating hybrids, etc. Our rating is dedicated to just such vehicles - the most economical ones. For the convenience of the reader, the review has been divided into several popular categories, and the position of a particular model is based on information from the manufacturer, service centers and owners who own data verified by their own experience.

The most economical small cars

Small dimensions, light weight and high efficiency make cars of this class the most preferred means of transportation on busy city highways. The category contains the most economical models that can be purchased on the primary market of Russia.

4 Renault Logan

High popularity in Russia
Country: France
Average price: 554,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.2

  • urban cycle - 8.5;
  • extra-urban cycle - 5.6;
  • mixed cycle - 7.0.

It was deservedly included in the top of our rating Renault Logan... This car, having appeared on the Russian market, immediately gained popularity among the consumer for its affordability, reliability of units and build quality. In addition, albeit not the most, but still economical gasoline engine (especially compared to domestic cars) was one of the reasons for such a loyal attitude. Logan has an inexpensive, but spacious enough and roomy salon, which allows using this light vehicle not only for transporting passengers, but also for solving a huge range of everyday tasks of a domestic or commercial nature.

3 Ford Fiesta 1.6 L

The most reliable
Country: USA
Average price: 795,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.6

Approximate fuel consumption figures (l / 100 km):

  • urban cycle - 8.4;
  • extra-urban cycle - 4.5;
  • mixed cycle - 5.9.

The petrol engine (105 HP) of this passenger car is not only reliable (like all other engines of this company), but also economical enough to become a worthy representative of your brand in the top of our rating. Compact and maneuverable, this car can accelerate to a hundred in just 11.4 seconds. Updated model became more comfortable and high-tech, and changes in appearance gave it completely new features. The presence of intelligent and passive safety systems, comfortable and surprisingly spacious salon.

2 Volkswagen Jetta VI TDI 2.0 L

Best power and torque characteristics
Country: Germany
Average price: 735,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.8

Approximate fuel consumption figures (l / 100 km):

  • urban cycle - 7.5;
  • extra-urban cycle - 5.7;
  • mixed cycle - 6.6.

The typical mid-range car, the four-door sedan with a 2.0-liter TDI engine, offers motorists good fuel economy, (quite standard) 140 horsepower and under 250 Nm of torque. Despite the rather high price in the class, it is in stable demand on the Russian market, but it cannot be called the best-selling one. Affected by the high cost of maintenance, and gasoline "Koreans" are slowly but surely winning back market share.

This summary table clearly demonstrates the fuel consumption parameters passenger carswho took part in our rating. The figures are obtained from open sources, and by no means are they a standard (many measurements were not carried out in laboratory conditions, using fuel from different suppliers)

Small, elegant car with a three-cylinder gasoline engine "Eats" very little fuel, which is good news for the owners. Great car for maneuvering in a city congested with traffic - it is easier to park on it, and it will pass in fairly narrow places. The car has a "fresh", youthful look and a sufficient level of comfort in the interior space. The presence of active auxiliary and passive systems high level of safety allowed Euro NCAP to award the Peugeot 208 with all 5 stars, which is very cool for a small and economical car.

The most economical middle class cars

Cars in this category have a sufficient level of comfort and are the greatest demand... Modern propulsion systems allow these models to be as economical as the small class.

4 Hyundai Solaris 1.6 l

The optimum ratio of price and quality
Country: South Korea
Average price: 842,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.5

Approximate fuel consumption figures (l / 100 km):

  • urban cycle - 8.0;
  • extra-urban cycle - 4.8;
  • mixed cycle - 6.0.

The most optimal model in terms of overall configuration. According to manufacturers, the new Hyundai Solaris with a six-speed mechanical box gears and a 1.6-liter engine spends about six liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers. For comparison, the same model with a 1.4 engine has a fuel consumption of 5.7 liters under the same conditions. Add to this indicator the overall popularity of both the company and the model itself, add this magnificence with a relatively low price in the class - and we have a future sales leader in Russia.

3 Skoda Octavia 1.4L TSI DSG

The best buyer's choice
Country: Czech Republic
Average price: 1,005,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.7

Approximate fuel consumption figures (l / 100 km):

  • urban cycle - 6.4;
  • extra-urban cycle - 4.7;
  • mixed cycle - 5.3.

It just so happened that the most economical model the new Skoda has a seven-speed robotized gearbox and a turbocharged gasoline engine. In this configuration, the 1.4-liter engine produces up to 150 horsepower, and fuel consumption per hundred in mixed cycle do not exceed 5.3 liters. The cost of such a "miracle" from dealers is over a million. With moderate driving, the car will become a good vehicle for the city, however, it is not recommended to "hurricane" on it - how long the seven-speed robot will last in this case is anyone's guess.

2 Kia Rio 1.6 L

Optimal combination of performance and economy
Country: South Korea
Average price: 849,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.9

Approximate fuel consumption figures (l / 100 km):

  • urban cycle - 7.0;
  • extra-urban cycle - 4.8;
  • mixed cycle - 5.9.

A complete clone of Hyundai Solaris in terms of engine performance and level average pricewhich nevertheless shows slightly better results in gas mileage. Even if the difference between them is not so significant (only 0.1 liters per hundred kilometers) and does not give much benefit even in the long run, but dry statistics require an honest display. Both models have a lot of fans in Russia, so talking about the dominance of one over the other in a separate component, and not in general, is a rather stupid idea.

1 Volkswagen Passat 1.4 TSI

Most economical
Country: Germany
Average price: 1,499,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 5.0

Approximate fuel consumption figures (l / 100 km):

  • urban cycle - 6.1;
  • extra-urban cycle - 4.4;
  • mixed cycle - 5.1

The most economical car of the category is highly popular in Russia and deservedly leads the top of this category. The model with a gasoline engine is distinguished by its unpretentious operation and inexpensive service costs, offering its owner the maximum possible comfort and safety for the money spent. A car with a conservative design and high build quality is a good alternative to many more prestigious models.

The most economical luxury cars

The main difference between luxury cars and the middle segment is visual qualities and comfort parameters. Representatives of this class are far from always equipped with more powerful engines, which, among other things, they do not need. The main goal of such cars is to look solid and instill in those around you a feeling of envy or genuine interest in a person inside the cabin.

4 BMW 520D

The most "frisky"
Country: Germany
Average price: 3,590,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.7

Approximate fuel consumption figures (l / 100 km):

  • urban cycle - 7.4;
  • extra-urban cycle - 5.5;
  • mixed cycle - 6.2.

The unexpected, at first glance, appearance of the BMW 5 Series in our ranking is more than justified by such indicators. Weighing 2200 kg, and a rather playful "disposition" inherent in this model luxury car, its fuel consumption is only slightly higher than that of a small car. At the same time, we have an elite class sedan in the seventh generation, with a spacious and comfortable interior. There is no need to describe all the advantages - this car has plenty of them. And despite the fact that 190 hp is hidden under the hood, the BMW 520D can be considered an economical car worthy of entering the top of our rating.

3 Mercedes A-klasse 1.5 l

"Rich" equipment. Corporate presentation
Country: Germany
Average price: 2,031,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.7

Approximate fuel consumption figures (l / 100 km):

  • urban cycle - 5.7;
  • extra-urban cycle - 3.1;
  • mixed cycle - 3.9.

Someone may regard this car as a "diesel misunderstanding" that has fallen on the head of the chief engineer of the Mercedes-Benz concern. But we know that the lion's share of the funds given for the right to own a car goes to the mercy of excellent quality and brand design. In principle, 90 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque is enough for driving around the city in farce mode, but you shouldn't expect much from them. But the consumption pleases: when driving in a combined cycle, it is only 3.9 liters per "hundred square meters". Decent figures for a decent executive car.

2 Mazda 6 2.0 L

Optimal balance of performance
Country: Japan
Average price: 1,626,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.9

Approximate fuel consumption figures (l / 100 km):

  • urban cycle - 8.0;
  • extra-urban cycle - 5.3;
  • mixed cycle - 6.5.

Eco-friendly, dynamic, stylish - these are just a few of the epithets that Mazda 6 deserves. A full-fledged executive car with a daring sporty character spends in the combined cycle as much as the leader of this category, provided that there is a two-liter engine with a capacity of 150 horsepower under the hood. forces, and the gear is switched by automatic transmission... The cost of the model is optimal for the current realities, especially for a car of this class.

1 Audi A6 2.0 TFSI

The best combination of power and economy
Country: Germany
Average price: 4,375,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 5.0

Approximate fuel consumption figures (l / 100 km):

  • urban cycle - 8.3;
  • extra-urban cycle - 5.4;
  • mixed cycle - 6.5.

The executive sedan from Audi is deservedly one of the three most economical cars. An impressive 180 horsepower from a turbocharged two-liter engine, coupled with a manual transmission in a combined cycle, consumes just 6.5 liters of gasoline. Yes, such a car can cost a pretty penny in maintenance, but if money is not a problem for you, this is the option that you should pay attention to.

Most Economical Hybrid Cars

Cars in this category except modern engines internal combustion have electric motors to minimize fuel consumption and significantly reduce pollution environment... In addition, hybrids are more dynamic due to the ability to simultaneously use the torque of two power plants.

3 PORSCHE PANAMERA 4 E-HYBRID

Most luxurious in the category
Country: Germany
Average price: 7,652,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.8

Approximate fuel consumption figures (l / 100 km):

  • urban cycle - 2.5;
  • extra-urban cycle - 2.5;
  • mixed cycle - 2.5

These flow rates were recorded under conditions close to ideal, and in real life they are, of course, higher. The main thing is that the battery is charged. Having four-wheel drive and a petrol engine with a capacity of 462 liters. pp., PANAMERA 4 E-HYBRID really surprises in a completely different way. The quick start mode, which uses both power plants, is capable of accelerating a car to a hundred in just 4.6 seconds! The hybrid's electrical component weighed the car by 320 kg and the luggage compartment had to be reduced by 95 liters to hide the electric traction battery. In addition to a high level of comfort and safety, the owner can enjoy the benefits of rear axle steering as an additional option.

2 Audi A6 3.0 55 TFSI quattro S tronic

High level of safety and comfort
Country: Germany
Average price: from 3995,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.9

Approximate fuel consumption figures (l / 100 km):

  • urban cycle - 9.1;
  • extra-urban cycle - 5.5;
  • mixed cycle - 6.8.

This is an excellent indicator for a car with a gross weight of 2.4 tons. Economical consumption fuel is far from the only advantage of the Audi A6 3.0 hybrid. Distinctive feature this car can be considered a completely silent and rapid start. This monster is able to "pass" over a hundred in 5.1 seconds! The combination of the power of a gasoline engine with a turbine and an electric motor (Boost mode) during high-speed maneuvers is able to impress the most experienced drivers. Model aUDI row has always been of high quality electronics and safety systems, and the hybrid is no exception. And it's not even worth talking about the level of comfort - for this car brand, the convenience and safety of the driver and passengers have always been and remain one of the traditional components.

1 Toyota Prius 1.8 L

The best combination of characteristics among hybrid carsmobiles
Country: Japan
Average price: 1,925,000 rubles.
Rating (2019): 5.0

Approximate fuel consumption figures (l / 100 km):

  • urban cycle - 3.1;
  • extra-urban cycle - 2.9;
  • mixed cycle - 3.0.

A legendary car from a Japanese automaker that changed the world with its appearance. Skipping a brief history, the Prius is the world's first hybrid car. Until a certain moment, the impossible combination of a 1.8-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor-generator gave people an expensive, unusual and miraculous economical hatchback. When driving in mixed road conditions, it consumes only three liters of gasoline. Of course, as time went on, competitors began to crawl into a previously unexplored niche, but the Prius still holds its ground pretty well.

Fuel consumption per 100 km is one of the most important indicators in a car, because many people buy a particular model precisely because of this data. Most manufacturers pay maximum attention to this indicator, and these are the companies that lead our rating.

1. Citroen C3

Small French hatchback Citroen C3, with 1.6 engine, which went on sale in 2017. It can produce 75 horsepower. In this configuration, the car spends only 3.1 liters of fuel. Naturally, only manual box gear, which works in five modes. The maximum from the model will turn out to squeeze out 171 km / h, and acceleration to the mark of 100 kilometers per hour on the speedometer will take you a little more than fifteen seconds.

Previous generations of this model also had low consumption, and not only diesel units, but also gasoline. For example, the 2013 version with a liter engine received a petrol consumption of just 4.2 liters, which is pretty good for a fairly powerful family car.

2. Seat Leon

Creation of the Spanish car industry, and more specifically - Seat Leon, released in 2012. This car is also a hatchback. It is equipped with a turbocharged unit with a working volume of 1.6 liters. This installation is capable of developing power up to 90 horsepower. Like most fuel-efficient cars, the transmission is manual, with five gears. Well, the main indicator is 3.0 liters, which are consumed for every hundred kilometers of track in a mixed driving mode. At the same time, the model can be safely called sports, since you can squeeze out a speed of 191 kilometers per hour from it, and accelerate to a hundred in just 10 seconds.

And his appearance is too aggressive, not corresponding to a passenger family car. This option is also well equipped inside, which helps Leon to easily compete in Europe with many other creations of more famous companies.

3. Ford Fiesta

Another hatchback, but already overseas - Ford Fiesta. The most economical version is the sixth generation restyling, with a 1.6 engine developing 95 horsepower. The control is carried out by a manual transmission with five gears identical to the past representatives. This diesel car uses only 2.9 liters of fuel.

It is not inferior to many gasoline units and in terms of speed. The maximum speed here is limited to 180 kilometers per hour, and you can conquer a hundred in 11.6 seconds. This model is usually chosen for the city, as it is equipped with a large number of different devices and functions that have a positive effect on comfort and safety. Not a bad car and controlled, which many users like to note in their reviews. But everyone loves her, of course, because of the low consumption.

4. Skoda Octavia

The next place went to one of the oldest representatives - Skoda Octavia Greenline. The model begins its history since 1959, but the last generation of 2017 appeared in this ranking. Again, the model is equipped with a 1.6 unit, but with more than the competitors' number of horses - 110. By the way, this is the only non-hatchback on the list, respectively, to drag such a whopper needs a lot of fuel ... but no, only 2.8 liters of fuel is consumed here ...

The car is at the same time one of the most environmentally friendly, with little carbon dioxide emissions into the air. To reduce fuel consumption, the designers have applied many additional changes, such as special tires with low resistance, start-stop function, and others. The car stands out for its good speed indicators. You can squeeze out here two hundred kilometers per hour. One hundred is reached in 10.4 seconds.

5. Renault Clio

The best car in terms of fuel consumption in the city, but only sixth in a mixed one - Renault Clio. As usual, the latest modification of the model, which went on sale in 2016, was included in the rating. The car received a 1.5-liter turbocharged unit, delivering 75 horsepower. Used transmission - classic mechanics with five gears. Here, the appetite of the engine is equal to 3.4 liters of fuel in the city and 2.7 liters in mixed mode.

The car does not stand out for its high-speed data, since the designers did not perceive these indicators as fundamental. Their main task was to create such a version so that everyone could afford its content. And they did it, because the car is very popular in many countries of the world. At the same time, the model is beautifully designed both externally and internally, and the volume of the trunk will be enough for anyone.

6. Kia Rio CRDi

The second half of the list is opened by the only representative of the eastern market - Kia Rio CRDi. The engine displacement in this version is only 1.1 liters, but it received the power of as many as 75 horses. As for the gearbox, a six-speed mechanics is already used here. The car does not shine with speed indicators, but here they took care of the level of comfort, for which, however, you will have to pay a little extra, because the basic version does not even have an air conditioner. But for a small surcharge, you get ideal transport for city trips and travel, since the trunk is quite roomy here, and if you also remove the rear row of seats, then its volume almost quadruples.

Well, the most interesting indicator - the model spends 3.6 liters in the city, but on average this mark is kept at a value of 2.6 liters. A great option for those who want a stylish car with low maintenance costs.

7. Volkswagen Golf

The next position, oddly enough, is one of the most famous cars - Vol kswagen Golf. A special version of this model - BlueMotion was developed precisely in order to compete with everyone in terms of consumption. This modification is already the seventh generation of the famous car. The car was equipped with a 1.4-liter turbodiesel producing as much as 125 horsepower.

In addition to excellent control, a high level of comfort, low consumption, the buyer will also receive excellent acceleration. Few fuel-efficient cars can boast of reaching 100 kilometers per hour in just 9.5 seconds. The gearbox is also mechanical, six-speed.

Eats up the engine in normal mode according to the passport 2.6 liters of fuel. But this model is much more expensive than other representatives, so it will take twice as long to beat off the price of the car by saving consumption.

8. Vauxhall Corsa

British Vauxhall Corsa. It can be safely called a small car, since the engine volume is only 1.3 liters. This unit can develop 75 horsepower. The model is not at all aimed at fast driving, but its level of comfort is simply off scale. This transport was created for people who need a car only for driving, and not for some "show".

Reliable, roomy, although the dimensions are rather small. The rear seats comfortably fit three adults, and none of them will experience discomfort. However, the car is not particularly distributed around the world and is actively used only in the British Isles. In other countries, you can see it extremely rarely. The consumption of this configuration is 2.6 liters.

9. Peugeot 307

Another Frenchman, the second generation Peugeot 307, was a little short of leadership. Surprisingly, he also lost to his compatriot. This car is equipped with a 1.6 engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission. All this adds up to 92 horsepower. In terms of speed, this model does not particularly stand out, but in equipment it has gone far ahead of many competitors.

For a relatively low cost, you will get almost everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable ride in any conditions. There will never be extraneous noise, rarely something will break, everything will always turn on the first time. Although the car is small, its spaciousness is amazing. It can be increased by removing the rear row of seats. Almost anyone can keep the model, as it consumes only 2.5 liters diesel fuel.

10. Peugeot 208

Another Peugeot, but already 208, has rightly earned the title of "Most Economical Car". Its equipment includes a 1.6 unit, which produces less power than the previous candidate - 75 horsepower, but has much better speed performance. This version was equipped with a five-speed gearbox, not a six-speed gearbox, which, of course, is manual. This is due to the fact that this model has smaller dimensions.

But, the most important thing here is the consumption indicator. To prove and test how small it is, special test... 43 liters of diesel fuel were poured into the car's tank. On such an amount, the car was able to drive a little more than two thousand kilometers. As a result, it was experimentally found that this car spends only 2 liters of fuel for every hundred kilometers. In addition, excellent environmental results have been shown. Here, this figure is 79 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer. Among all the options presented in this list, this value is the smallest.

The model was not deprived of comfort either. Peugeot 208 received almost the same functions as 308, only its cost is much less. We can safely say that in many respects this car simply has no competitors from a number of publicly available cars, and is unlikely to appear in the near future.

11. Smart Fortwo

New Smart hatchbacks are not only fashionable, beautiful and modern, but also economical. The appetite of a city kid with a 1.0-liter gasoline engine is limited to 4.2 liters per hundred. At the same time, there is 71 horsepower under the hood. In addition, there is a diesel modification of the compact car with the name CDI, which is considered the most "dietary" car in Britain. During the ALD Shell FuelSave MPG marathon, the car's fuel consumption was only 2.85 liters per 100 kilometers. Smart Fortwo from UAH 75,000

12. Volkswagen Polo

Concern Volkswagen, in the case of looking for the most economical car, offers customers a Polo model with an engine of the TSI family - gasoline turbocharged engines with direct injection fuel. The power of the car is 90 horsepower, and the engine volume is 1.2 liters. At the same time, in the combined cycle, the hatchback will "eat" 4.7 liters per 100 kilometers. As for the diesel version of the car, Volkswagen also has model Polo from diesel engine TDI of 1.4 liters and 75 hp. It consumes only 3.4 l / 100 km.

13. Skoda Fabia

If for some reason the Volkswagen Polo does not suit you, there is an alternative that retains all the advantages of the above-named car, but with its own personal character and design. Last year, Skoda announced that it intends to get out of the usual budget class and started adding a little shine to my models. So, the new generation of Skoda Fabia has, for example, an elegant cut of headlights and rear lights in the style of bohemian glass. At the same time, the machine is built on the same platform as Volkswagen polo... Under the hood, the same 1.2 liter tSI motor, but at 88 hp. In the combined cycle, the consumption is identical - 4.7 l / 100 km.

14. Hyundai i20

The new Hyundai i20, which at one time replaced the rather popular Getz model in our country, also settled in the rating of the most economical cars in Ukraine. Despite the fact that the car has enough wide choose power plants, I would like to note exactly diesel version hatchback, which provides for the presence of a 1.4-liter engine of the CRDi family. The power of the installation is 90 horsepower, and the appetite is 4.3 liters per 100 km.

15. Skoda Rapid

Being a direct relative of the Volkswagen Polo Sedan, which has quite taken root in the Ukrainian market Skoda Rapid I was also able to please with its economy. The declared consumption figure for the diesel modification with the same 1.6-liter TDI engine and 103 hp is 4.4 liters per hundred. At the same time, while the car was on the AUTO.RIA test drive, the consumption never exceeded 5.0 l / 100 km.

16. Renault Logan

The real hard worker Renault Logan is on the last line of our rating, but nevertheless, the car's consumption figures are no less impressive. And again I would like to note the diesel version. While in the combined cycle petrol modifications require 6.2 ... 7.3 and even 8.1 liters, Logan on heavy fuel will cost only 4.5 liters for every hundred kilometers traveled.

17. Citroen C1

One of the first cars in terms of economy is the Citroen C1. Its consumption in city traffic is five and a half liters. Despite the fact that this is a French brand, these machines are assembled in the Czech Republic.

A full tank of Citroen C1 holds 78 liters of fuel. The manufacturers themselves recommend operating the car on A95 gasoline. This machine can comfortably accommodate four adults at the same time.

The cost of a five-year-old supported Citroen C1 hovers around 250-300 thousand rubles. A new car from a car dealership will cost about 600 thousand.

18. Honda Jazz

Having filled a full tank once, it will be possible to drive 764 km without any problems. The car is designed for four people. Trunk volume 883 liters. This model refutes the myth of the weak subcompact. Honda Jazz accelerates to one hundred kilometers in just 11.4 seconds. The cost of this used car fluctuates in the region of 300-400 thousand rubles.

19. Chevrolet Aveo

In terms of dimensions, Aveo is slightly larger than previous models. And the fuel consumption is slightly higher and amounts to 6.6 liters per hundred kilometers. This car is designed for five people.

Trunk volume 501 liters. The car is more suitable for young people. Of the shortcomings, only poor sound insulation... Minimum price for new car- 507 thousand. On secondary market the price of 2006 will be about 200 rubles.

20. Toyota IQ

This car is in the first place among urban small cars. With an engine power of one liter, the average consumption is 4.3 liters, and the minimum is only 3.9.

Compact, smart design makes this car stand out from many others in the city traffic flow... One tank is enough for 740 km. Acceleration from zero to one hundred in 14.7 seconds. Toyota IQ not only ranks among the most economical cars, but also ranks first in terms of the lowest carbon dioxide emissions. The price starts at used from 350 thousand rubles.

21. KIA Soul 1.6 MPI

Already familiar to many in the Russian market KIA Soul consumes only 7.2 liters per hundred kilometers. The car has a new suspension and gasoline unit 1.6 MPI. Despite the 124bhp under the hood, it doesn't have a huge impact on fuel consumption. Efficiency was achieved due to the mono-drive gearbox. The car's ground clearance is 158 cm. This is quite enough for driving on light off-road or speed bumps. The price of this car starts from 800 thousand.

22. Nissan Qashqai 1.2

Japanese manufacturers were able to combine a 1.2-liter engine and 112 horses in this car with a fuel consumption of 6.2 liters. With a ground clearance of 200 mm, this is one of the most popular cars in this class. The car attracts not only its appearance, but also at a fairly affordable price. The cost of this car starts from 800 thousand.

23. Toyota Prius

This is one of the main representatives of hybrid cars. Fuel consumption from 5.5 - 8.0 liters per 100 km. In the standard version, the electric battery is charged by the engine and during braking. However, in the new assembly, it became possible to charge from the mains and drive only on electric traction. Trunk volume 443 liters. Most importantly, the car is completely silent while driving. The cost of a used car starts at 400 thousand.

24. BMW i3

Unlike most modern car BMW i3 was designed from scratch. None of the existing machines was taken as a basis. Like the Toyota Prius, some versions of the BMW i3 can be charged from the mains. As for the fuel, only half a liter per hundred kilometers is enough for this car. A full tank is enough for 322 kilometers. What is surprising about this machine is that, for all its economy, the power of 170 horses and a weight of 1639 kg. BMW i3 cost from two million.

25. Audi A3 1.6 TDI

The gas tank of this car is designed for 50 liters. Its consumption is 5.2 liters per hundred kilometers. Acceleration to hundreds occurs in just 8.3 seconds. The production of this car started in 2012. Thousands of cars have been sold since then. The cost of this car is from 1.5 million.

There is no driver who does not monitor the fuel consumption of his car. At least just to get to the gas station on time. At the same time, fuel-efficient cars have always been of considerable interest to most drivers. The rating of such cars, compiled by the various media themselves, is usually studied quite carefully and meticulously.

Low Fuel Consumption Cars - Economical or Not?

In fact, this is a provocative question. The expected answer is yes, it will not always be correct. Thus, cars with diesel engines are rated as more economical than gasoline ones, but it would be wrong to judge this by fuel consumption alone. In addition, in our conditions, sometimes diesel fuel at a price more expensive than gasoline, and this alone will be an additional expense for the maintenance of diesel cars, it is worth considering that they need more frequent maintenance.

More often performed replacement of oil, filters, and consumables sometimes have a higher cost than required for a gasoline engine, and the maintenance itself will eat up all the imaginary savings from the use of diesel fuel. Besides, don't forget about its quality. I must admit that the fuel at our gas stations often does not meet any requirements and when using it you may well have to spend a lot on repairing your car's engine.

Therefore, trying to determine which car is more economical, it is worth considering not only the data on fuel consumption, but also the cost of maintenance, as well as the cost possible repair due to the use of cheap and low-quality fuel.

Low Fuel Consumption Cars - What Are They?

However, all of the above does not mean that car manufacturers are not engaged in reducing fuel consumption. Cars with low fuel consumption have always opened the rating about fuel-efficient cars, the authors of which are numerous organizations, from reputable to little-known. If you look closely at any rating, you will notice some rather curious facts.

  1. Hybrid vehicles tend to lead the ranking of low fuel consumption vehicles. There is nothing surprising in this, they were conceived as vehicles with low fuel consumption. But the number of such cars is significantly inferior to the number of cars with conventional internal combustion engines, and they are not very popular, especially in our country;
  2. In cases where a non-hybrid vehicle is included in the rating, its characteristic features will be the relatively low power and volume of the internal combustion engine. The consequence of this is the small size that cars of this type have. So, when paying attention to economical cars, be prepared for the fact that they are far from cars. executive class... Large, heavy, powerful and dynamic machines are not characterized by low consumption and economy;
  3. To keep fuel consumption low, manufacturers often use a variety of additional systems, the result of which is increased efficiency. An example of such a technical solution is the start-stop system used on many vehicles. Its essence lies in the fact that in the absence of movement (when stopping at a traffic light or in a traffic jam), the engine is switched off electronically and switched on by it when the position of the pedals (clutch and gas) changes.

This approach can reduce fuel consumption by up to ten percent from the usual, but the downside of this will be an increase in the price of the vehicle, and cars, the rating of which will be at the bottom of the list, will be cheaper.

Economical cars in terms of fuel consumption

When thinking about buying a car with low fuel consumption, in addition to data on the consumption of gasoline of a new car, it is worth thinking about its operation. If your car consumes more fuel than it should be according to the technical characteristics, then it is possible that it is not only the value of the gas mileage. Economical fuel consumption in many cases is associated not only directly with the machine, but also with how it is used.

The simplest example - a green traffic light comes on, cars, accelerating sharply, rush along the avenue in order to stand again in front of the prohibitory signal after two hundred meters. With this driving style low consumption gasoline will never be. At the moment of acceleration, the engine consumes more fuel than is necessary during quiet driving, and in addition, it does not completely burn out. In addition, the entire expense was wasted. I had to stand at the traffic light again.
The movement should be fast, but smooth, with the transition to higher gears in a minimum time, on them the gasoline consumption figures will be lower, and the economy will increase.

Another factor, despite its insignificance, providing fuel economy, will be aerodynamic drag movement and use additional devices... The most common glasses, lowered while driving, increase the aerodynamic resistance of the car, which will result in additional gas mileage. Turning on the air conditioner leads to an increase in electricity consumption on board, additional load on the generator and increased fuel consumption.

Don't think that everyone should ride with closed windows and sweat in the heat. You just need to be aware that if you turn on the air conditioner, loud music or open windows, this will lead to more significant gas mileage.

There are many other ways and techniques to ensure the economical operation of your car. There are enough of them so that your steel horse does not become too burdensome for you.

The question of which cars are economical and which are not is difficult enough for a definite answer. And the first lines in world rankings can sometimes not serve as an unambiguous criterion for such an assessment. Correct operation even an ordinary, albeit old, car can be much more profitable than inept use of the most "hit" car.

Leading car manufacturers are very flexible in responding to the whims of the global oil market. The constant rise in the price of energy carriers, as well as the gradual reduction of their reserves, lead to the fact that modern models there is a reduction in fuel consumption. Ecologists also support this idea very actively. As a result, new variants of hybrid power plants appear every year, which are considered to be a kind of intermediate link between electric vehicles and traditional versions of cars. In this article we will tell you about the most economical and. It should be noted that in the ranking of ten models, only cars with hybrid or fuel engines are presented, excluding electric cars.

Daewoo matiz

The list opens with a model that is especially popular with students and housewives in our country and around the world - Daewoo Matiz. It is equipped with a 0.8-liter gasoline engine with 51 horsepower. The average for a car is 6.8 liters, however, depending on the driving style of the driver, this figure may vary. The use of far from the most powerful power unit here negatively affected the dynamics, because in order to reach the 100 km / h mark, this car takes as much as 15 seconds. Be that as it may, Korean engineers did not create it for high-speed driving, so the model takes its rightful place in the "Economical" category.

Chery Bonus

In ninth place in the ranking is a representative of the Chinese auto industry - the Chery Bonus model. It appeared on the domestic market in 2011. Under the hood, a 109-horsepower 1.5-liter engine is installed, created by Chinese engineers together with representatives of the AVL company. Almost the only advantage of the model, most experts called the small size of fuel consumption, which is 6.2 liters for every "hundred" of run in the combined cycle. In the dynamics of acceleration, the model lost even to the previous representative of the rating. Moreover, the car is quite clumsy. As of the beginning of sales, its cost in the showrooms of Russian dealers was approximately 336 thousand rubles. Be that as it may, the demand for this inexpensive city car did not meet the expectations of the developers. Therefore, it is not surprising that in 2014 its deliveries to our country stopped.

Audi A1 Sportback

The next in the order of decreasing fuel consumption was the car. For every 100 kilometers, it needs an average of 5.6 liters of gasoline. The car is equipped with a 122-horsepower 1.4-liter power unit. Despite the modest fuel consumption, the model boasts solid dynamics, as it takes 9 seconds to accelerate from standstill to 100 km / h. In the domestic market, the buyer is offered modifications equipped with a six-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed "automatic".

Not everyone city \u200b\u200bclass cars "Economy" are distinguished by their exquisite design. This fact has nothing to do with the Audi A1 Sportback. German designers have well thought out both its interior. In the appearance of the car, a spectacular radiator grille, smooth bumpers and optics are striking. All this gives the model originality and style.

Smart ForTwo

The next one with excellent efficiency is the Smart ForTwo, which consumes an average of 5.2 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers on the combined cycle. In the standard configuration, under the hood of this kid, a 0.9-liter power unit with 88 horsepower is installed. The model is designed for a driver and one passenger. Moreover, it cannot boast of a roomy trunk, and therefore there is no need to talk about its practicality. On the other hand, the high degree of economy and maneuverability makes this car an excellent option for getting around the city. It should be noted that modifications with more powerful engines are also available on the domestic market.

Peugeot 107

Peugeot 107 is in the sixth position in the “most economical” rating. In the combined cycle, the model consumes about five liters of fuel for every “hundred”. The interior is decorated with high-quality materials that are pleasant to the touch. At the same time, like many other representatives of this French manufacturing company, the car has rather modest dimensions, so drivers and passengers of even average configuration are not very comfortable inside for a long time. The size of the luggage compartment is also not impressive here, the volume of which is only 130 liters. In other words, for long-distance travel, this is not the best option. In addition, a rather high cost is considered another disadvantage of the model. Thus, almost the only advantage that the Peugeot 107 can boast of is the size of its fuel consumption.

Skoda Fabia TDI Greenline II

Currently, the designers of the world famous Czech skoda are actively working to reduce the fuel consumption of their cars. One of their latest developments is the second generation Fabia TDI Greenline, which is equipped with a 70 horsepower 1.2-liter three-cylinder diesel engine. For every 100 kilometers the car needs 4.5 liters of fuel. Thanks to the turbine, the model is very nimble and maneuverable. However, Czech engineers call their main achievement a significant reduction in the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere. The model was produced in the period from 2007 to 2014, after which it was slightly updated. However, the key innovations concerned mainly its design.

Peugeot 208

The Peugeot 208 e-HDi 70 EGC version became another representative of the French automotive industry in the Most Economical rating. Under the hood of this model, the developers have placed a 1.4-liter diesel power unit with 68 "horses". The motor is equipped with a turbine, which achieves decent driving dynamics. Do not forget about small ones. For every hundred kilometers a car needs an average of 4 liters of fuel. According to French designers, the model was designed for driving mainly on city streets. Given this fact, it is not surprising that its maximum speed is limited to 165 km / h.

Lexus CT200h

The Lexus CT200h model, which was first presented to the general public in 2010 during Geneva Motor Show, closes the top three in the Economy category. It should be noted that the novelty became the first C-class hatchback in the history of this manufacturer. The machine is powered by a 1.8 liter motor and an AC electric motor. Total power power plant is 136 horsepower. It was thanks to the use of hybrid technologies that the developers managed to achieve low fuel consumption, amounting to only 3.8 liters of gasoline in the combined cycle per 100 kilometers. The car looks very modern and stylish. Aggressive appearance is given by strict optics and a massive radiator grille. In the interior of the novelty, every little thing is well thought out, which will please even a demanding car enthusiast. The model has not yet been supplied to the domestic market. As for its cost in Europe, here it starts at around 27 thousand euros.

Toyota Prius Plug In

Almost the most on the planet is the Toyota Prius Plug In. The model is another member of the hybrid family and won the silver medal in the ranking. The representative of the Japanese auto industry is equipped with a hybrid 1.8-liter engine, the maximum power of which is 134 horsepower. Fuel consumption is on average 2.1 liters per "hundred". Despite this, the model boasts decent dynamics, as it accelerates to 100 km / h in 11 seconds. The machine is also equipped with an electrical installation that can be charged even through a regular household socket. In this case, the range of the battery is 1200 kilometers. The maximum possible speed of the model is 180 km / h.

Volvo V60 Plug In Hybrid

As shown by numerous studies, as of today, in terms of efficiency, this is the Volvo V60 Plug In Hybrid. The model is comfortable and practical. Moreover, it is in no way inferior in technical characteristics their diesel and gasoline counterparts. The car is equipped with a 2.4-liter diesel engine with a capacity of 215 horsepower, as well as an electrical installation for 68 "horses". For every 100 kilometers, the model requires only 1.9 liters of fuel. The maximum possible speed of the Volvo V60 Plug In Hybrid is 230 km / h, and it takes about 6.1 seconds to accelerate to 100 km / h. Due to only one electric motor, the car is able to overcome 50 kilometers. It is charged by means of an ordinary household outlet.

The design of the car as a whole corresponds to the concept of everything lineup manufacturing company. Along with this, the appearance has its own characteristics. First of all, this is the fact that the model has two filling necks (for diesel fuel and recharging, respectively, at the back and front). In addition, in order to lighten weight and reduce drag, the developers have provided a number of aerodynamic elements on the body. The luggage compartment volume is 430 liters, but when the rear seats are folded, this figure increases threefold. Quality materials have been used in the interior decoration. The control panel is simple and straightforward. Like other cars from this manufacturer, the model boasts a high level of safety. The cost of a car in the salons of domestic dealers starts at 3.3 million rubles.

Despite the fall in oil prices, the cost of gasoline at gas stations in Russia has not changed much. Car owners have to pay the same 40 rubles for a quality 98. It is not surprising that sooner or later every motorist starts thinking about buying a more economical car.

To choose the most economical car, special attention must be paid to the type of fuel. Diesel, for example, offers significantly greater savings than gasoline. Nevertheless, the cost of maintaining such machines is 20-30 percent more expensive. Therefore, when choosing the most economical car, there are many factors to consider.

Ratings of economy cars of different classes and types

Second place - Nissan Pixo. The car has a one-liter engine completely identical to the Suzuki Alto and an average consumption of 4.4 liters. Nevertheless, in terms of price / quality ratio, it certainly leads.

The first place is occupied by Toyota IQ - it is the most economical car for the city. Its engine has a volume of one liter. Average fuel consumption 4.3 liters, minimum 3.9. Nice design and compact size create a complete concept that looks extremely appropriate in the conditions of modern metropolises. In addition, this vehicle emits the least amount of CO2 into the atmosphere.

Despite the external diminutiveness, this is a real four-seater sedan with a manual transmission. Up to a hundred kilometers Toyota IQ accelerates in 14.7 seconds. A car can travel 740 kilometers on one tank! Unsurprisingly, this model tops the Top 5 most fuel efficient minicars.

The most economical car with high ground clearance

For a long time, Toyota Urban Cruiser has been considered the most fuel efficient SUV. The model was released back in 2009 and at that time showed simply amazing results.

The car was equipped with engines of 1.5 and 1.8 liters. But for Europe, a special model with a volume of 1.4 liters was released! At the same time, the power of the car was 90 horsepower. It was this option that became the most economical gasoline SUV. For every hundred kilometers, only 5.3 liters are spent, outside the city - 4. For such big car - these are more than modest indicators.

The most economical diesel SUV - Ford escape Hybrid. The engine displacement is 2.3 liters. Power reaches 133 horsepower. The car is equipped with a three-phase synchronous electric motor, which provides increased efficiency both when driving in the city and outside it. By the way, this is another 94 liters. from. additionally.

In fact, the Ford Escape Hybrid has two motors. They can work in turns or in tandem. If the car is moving at a speed of up to 40 km / h, only works electric motor, but as soon as the driver crosses this line, a gasoline device is connected, providing a real explosion of power. The fuel consumption of this monster is from 7 to 7.8 liters per hundred kilometers.
