Expressive lines, dynamic curvatures and the silhouette of coupé-style windows define the exterior character of the A-Class, following the design philosophy known as “sensual clarity”. The new, more swept front bumper with its shape strongly appeals to the concept car Concept A-CLASS (2011).

The equipment program for the A-Class has been expanded in many ways: High Performance LED headlamps and optional Ambient Lighting with twelve color modes and five-stage dimming are available. Another novelty is the possibility of adjusting the seat cushion depth by up to 60 mm, which is available as standard on all product lines.

With its exciting design in the style of the successful Formula 1 team MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS, the Motorsport Edition appeal primarily to motorsport enthusiasts. Engines: the range of units has expanded

The line of cars of the new A-Class is opened by the younger model A 160 (not supplied to the Russian Federation) with a 75 kW (102 hp) engine. With the help of the DYNAMIC SELECT system, you can change the character of the car in a second, at the push of a button: at the request of the driver, the characteristics of the engine, gearbox, suspension, steering and climate control are transformed. It is convenient to switch between the four driving modes "Comfort", "Sport", "Eco" and "Individual" using a switch on the top control panel.

Models A 200 d 4MATIC, A 220 4MATIC, A 220 d, A 220 d 4MATIC, A 250 4MATIC, A 250 Sport and A 250 Sport 4MATIC are equipped with DYNAMIC SELECT as standard. In addition, all vehicles with the AMG Line, as well as those equipped with the 7G-DCT automatic transmission or one of the suspension variants with low ground clearance, receive DYNAMIC SELECT by default. For all other models - except for both BlueEFFICIENCY Edition models - DYNAMIC SELECT is available as an option.

The combination of DYNAMIC SELECT with adaptive damping control (optional) provides much more control over the vehicle's characteristics. In this case, using the DYNAMIC SELECT switch, the driver can change the vehicle's damping characteristics.

He has a choice between Comfort mode with more comfortable characteristics damping forces and Sport mode with a sporty, firm damping setting. In this case, to calculate the characteristics of the shock absorbers using acceleration sensors, body movements are recorded, and also such current information about the condition of the vehicle is taken into account, such as, for example:

After that, an electronic control signal is sent to the proportional control valve, which accordingly changes the oil flow, and therefore the characteristic of each of the shock absorbers. The shock absorber control system works steplessly, adjusting the characteristic for each wheel individually.

Multimedia: the leader in smartphone integration

A-Class of the new generation became the first representative lineup Mercedes-Benz, which offers full smartphone integration: Apple CarPlay (for iPhone® owners) and MirrorLink® infotainment systems will be available from early 2016.

Supported, for example, are Apple CarPlay applications for phone calls, navigation and listening to music, receiving and sending SMS messages and emails, as well as Siri voice control.
